I have made flags for :U.K. league 1,2,u.k. champions, Spanish premiera and segunda, Italian serie A,B, French league 2, Bundesliga1,2, Holland league.

I have also added chants to some clubs.
I used the FATBH Builder instead of the CC one, saved all my files, tested if it worked and it was all fine.

I created a custom player (in Fifa) and added him to a club. Started a career and it all looks pretty but my game crashed, after foul, sub, or a goal from the opposing team.

I have the newer CC version and had no problems with the net. thing.

Does the created player interfere?
Is it just too many flags?
what am i doing wrong?

Yeah, as soon as you change your squads in any way (including creating a player) in the actual game, it messes it up. I suggest you make your player IN the creation centre, rather then in the game's CAP.

Hmm. Assuming you have a CLEAN D.B, just delete the 'squads' folder in the FIFA 2005 folder in your documents.

If you have an edited DB (which i think you have), i think you should reinstall it. Just backup all your new flag files ect.
