when i load the e_text file i get a message saying 'descriptor table missing!'. All the files within that are all called 'unnamed'. I tried to rebuild it but no luck. I use the wolf patch so do i have to download the patch again to get the e_text file if so is there somewhere where i can just get that file instead of downloading the whole patch as it will take me all day.

I take it you have a legal copy, then just copy it from the original dvd

i did a clean install and now when i load the game it has all the usual sponsers like addidas and then the KCET screen but when it comes to loading the title screen it doesnt load an the screen is black and hangs there

Goto the folder that holds the asf files and delete the Opening Movie file. It should work fine after that. I think it's called "opnmov", or something like that.

that worked but now when i go to edit my team fromation in a match the small box where the 'change player, edit position etc is blank. I tried putting the opmov file back but it goes to the original problem and when it does load the game pn occasion the same problem in the formation window happens

Uninstall the game and delete all game files.
And then install the game.
