So sad to look for Guarani and dont find anything in the table. Anyway, i think Santos and Cruzeiro are the favorites.

Dá-lhe, Inter!!! ;)

It was a bad start by us, but I hope we can do better already in the next game. It would be great to have a Gaúcho club winning the Brasileirão, but it will be very very difficult. Even more now, that there are only 2 teams (but it's awesome to see Grêmio in the 2nd divison :D). Anyway, anything close to our position in the last 2 years would already be very good.

I hope São Paulo wins this year, they are my team in Brazil.

I'm not too optimistic about Inter, considering they lost 2-0 to Botafogo at home. It's only the first round though, but they started miserably. About São Paulo, i guess they'll need a better coach if they are planning to win more titles this year.

São Paulo is the favourite IMO. very consistent team. let's see what Corinthians will do too. Rio teams had a very good first week.

Yea, Corinthians seems to be a contender. If they get Mascherano then they'll be massive. Anyway, apart from Fluminense i dont see Rio teams doing well this season.

Remember that guy Ibson, that played for fluminense/ I just want to know how brazilians feel about him, cuz in only a few months at Porto he already is a fan fav. what a player, i mena it's easy to notice that he isn't 100%used to european soccer but yet the guy still plays well. One of the bright sides of Porto's season.

São Paulo was prolly one of the favourites (or perhaps still is) if Emersão Leão was still there. I want to see how they react without his strong charismatic presence. I tend to simphatyze with Vasco da Gama (because of their portuguese roots) but im not a big fan of Eurico Miranda. Roberto Dinamite should have won the elections :p. Anyways, unfortunately i don´t think that Vasco has the consistency to win a tournament as demanding as the Brasileirão. They will prolly finish mid table, anything above is a good surprise. Preventing last seasons scare should be the priority. Then if things go well, move on to a more ambicious objective. I heard that Dominguez signed for them but he isnt a starter and is usually an used sub. Let´s see if Romário stays motivated during all the league and how he delivers. Go Vascão hehe.
I think that the "clubes paulistas" are the strong favourites. Santos, São Paulo or Corinthians. Dunno what´s Cruzeiro´s current form. About Atlético Paranaense, i haven´t heard anything from that guy Felipe but i read that Casimiro Mior was sacked (didn´t take long lol). They lost a couple of players (Washington) and i guess they won´t be the threat they were last year but let´s wait for Felipe´s confirmation to know that.
I usually read stuff about Brazilian soccer on the newspaper and watch Record Internacional from time to time but it would nice if the brazilian forum users kept this thread going, so we could all get the latest news and results. It´s always good to see the opinions of real brazilian supporters, so keep the post flowing and don´t let this thread die like the other ones. Cheers.

Corinthians are supposed to have signed Vagner from CSKA... if he does come, and Mascherano as well, they're favorites for the title... of course it'll depend on how well the team gel, and names don't win matches, but I guess they'll challenge for it...
Sao Paulo without Leao isn't the same team, though Santos could get it again...

Good to hear he's doing well. He was one of the few players that were worth something at Flamengo last season, definitely a good prospect.

Thanks! Is always good to see that Portugal is always on side of Vasco.
You're right, I used to like Eurico when he was vice-president, with Antonio Calçada as president. But now,t hanks to him we're breaking a negative record of 5 years without sponsorship and with weak teams. :nape: the election was a fraud, that's why he won (N) Vasco fans should do a Revolution against Eurico though...
Dominguez signed, but he is sufferung with a contusion. When he gets well, I'm sure that he will be the number 10 of Vasco, he's very talented, quick and do good passes. He with Esquerdinha, Romário and Alex Dias should do fine for Vasco, just fixing the defense and signing a good keeper and Vasco can be the big surprise(or how we say here, zebra :) ) of the competition.

You may think I'm crazy, but I think Fluminense is the team to beat this year. Even without Felipe, they have a consistent team, and the victory against "unbeatable" São Paulo will really motivate them. You should also see Gabriel playing, he's very good. ;)
I think Flamengo will not scape from relegation this year... their team is very, very, very, very, very weak. So weak that on Sunday, after the draw in home against Cruzeiro, many Flamengo fans were thanking godness for the draw. Hehe, goodbye, stinky vultures! :boohoo:

Hey Grunger, is that Jean from Guarani good? There are rumours that he will be the next golakeeper of Vasco

Olá!

I would like to make two questions to you guys cause you're probably informed about it.

I would like to know some informations about two players, Diego from Fluminense, a center midfielder that is linked to Benfica, and btw, could you tell me if this rumours are any true in Brazil?

And about Anderson, Corinthians center back, that is already a Benfica player for the next season.

Tks in advance. :)

Bruno_FJV

Yes, I saw in TV that Diego is going to Benfica soon... he's very good, but I prefer Alex from Fluminense...

Anderson is very good too, he's a great defender. Oh, and he'll play today's friendly against Guatemala, if you ever have a chance to see him playing, you'll see his talent! :hump:

Kibe Kru
28-04-2005, 02:59:AM
Anderson is good, and he's usually very reliable so you won't have problems with him, even though I think Fabio Luciano (who played for Corinthians before Anderson and is now playing in Turkey) is better than him

Passarela is supposed to become a director or something as a way to avoid paying him his contract breaking fee... with Leao refusing to come to Corinthians, I guess Nelsinho is in with a chance...
Bad move by passarela to kick Fabio Costa out of the side... he wasn't the world's best keeper but he was decent enough...

It took me a long time to have courage to come to soccergaming again. Atlético did everything wrong this year. Although we won the Paraná state championship, I don't think we have a bright future with the players we've got.

We lost Washington and Rogério Corrêa to the japanese football; sold Jadson (he's a drunk, but still a hell of a player; better keep the vodka away from him tho') and Fernandinho (although he's still here his mind is in europe) to Shakhtar Donetsk, same team Ivan was borrowed to; Dagoberto is still injured. We didn't manage to bring good players to replace them (Aloísio and mainly Maciel still didn't play at the level we were used to see at Europe). Porto, please take Maciel back, he plays with his mouth.

Our pre-season sucked big time (unusual); we didn't manage to find a decent coach (with Mior we didn't even look like a team, even though it isn't 100% his fault), we're after one right now; we were known for our deadly counter attack, but even the counter attack is not working this year.

We need a real change if we want to do something in the Libertadores and Brasileirão. I believe that if we keep the way we are, we will finish 8th.

1) Thanks twice dude. It's nice to be back.

I guess you're right, cuz Boca isn't that great in the argentinean league too (or at least I was told so). Anyway, it's nice when people try to make you feel better in a ****ty situation. :)

2) OMG, I guess when he came, Porto staff said: "lol, what a bunch of jerks". We must be so screwed... At least his contract ends by june or july. Was he a big mouth there too? I mean, did he talk more than play? The staff there will have to figure out what they're gonna do with him since AEK Athens didn't want him (I guess).

Yeah, you welcome.

I was thinking a week or two ago: "how sad it is to see teams like Nacional (Uruguay) and Flamengo in their situation...". I never thought I'd hear it for Atlético this early... It's really sad what our staff did to us this year... but we still have time. Thanks for your concerning.

He'll probably end up going to some random mid-table club here in Portugal, or the same in Brazil.

He came to Porto by the hand of Mourinho (who had coached Maciel at Leiria), at first we had big expectations on him, but then as I've said he blew his chances.
Mourinho put him out of the team because he wasn't performing well and there was a word about him b'tchin a little about that, yeah.
the only thing he got with that attitude was to be sent over to you guys :p

When he arrived I thought we loaned a Ronaldinho (6) . In his first match against Libertad here, he scored the winner goal and said: "I wasn't in good conditions, if I was I'd have scored 3 goals today". He only scored another goal against Libertad and never did anything again. I'm not complaining about scoring goals, that's not his job, but he makes himself look like a world class player and plays as an average one. He's been on the bench now (when there are other forwards to play).

Do you know what worries me most? Our staff wants to gain territory in the portuguese market. In order to manage that, thinking about future transfers to Porto, we might keep him until the end of the year. :nape:

he's by no means a world class player, wtf was he thinking :kader:

Maciel will never have a place here again, not even if he cries and begs a lot :jap:

Anyway good luck to Atletico, hope you go back to the high flights again ;)

btw I've just finished watching Paulista de Jundiaí vs Figueirense for the Cup (yeah crappy game) and that referee, f'ck him, I've seen him before showing off his lack of skills...name: Sérgio "something" de Carvalho.
The man gives absolutely ridiculous cards, like 10 yellows a game and some red ones to be cool, and acts before the players like a bully even though he looks like a pussy. probably those are sexuality issues, poor guy :fool:
I see him in a lot of games, and I hate him more over and over.

Is he close to becoming a legend there in Brazil? Just wondering

There are some refs who are more drag queens than referees because of their acts. I don't remember this one tho'. Well, maybe he's the one who runs like a deer... whatever. If you start watching more brazilian games you'll see there's more where he came from :fool: [although we do have some really good refs too], there's one who looks like the Statue of Liberty when he shows a yellow card...

Well I think the guy was on Figueirense vs Corinthians too..but I'm not sure about that. next time I see him in a game I'll warn you...guessing Sergio Vieira de Carvalho anyway.
And the linesmen dude...I see horrific offside calls every week...some time ago there was a goal against Corinthians, with 4 (four) players in an offside position, and still the goal was given..I couldn't believe it

Btw I watch Brazilian football whenever I can, there's a channel here (SportTV) which broadcasts about two games per week, from Brasileirão or the Cup...so, I just have to see the ones they show, and I tell you that sometimes there are great matches between lower teams!
But it's much nicer to see big team games of course, and specially the games where ex-Porto players are performing, just for curiosity ;)

I wish again Atletico good luck for the season, and great luck for Porto today (H) big matches coming!

I know there's SporTv there, but I didn't know they broadcast the Brasileirão and Copa do Brasil there cuz they have the rights of the Superliga for Portugal... isn't it possible for you to see the other games via PPV (here SporTv has the Premiere Esportes, they air all the games)? Do they show the Libertadores there too? I like watching some lower teams matches too (I always try to watch Juventude, Goiás and, this year, Ponte Preta), it's nice.

So, great luck for both Atlético and Porto. Cya.

about PPV it may be possible, I don't know, but anyway I watch enough football matches per week on SportTV..and I'll live with that instead of spending more money (6) but it'd be nice though

Hi there :). I would like to now if someone heared something about this guy joining Benfica, how is he, and at what point can that be true?
Obrigado.

I heard something about it. Grêmio would let him go for an offer around 6-8 million euros for 70%-80% of the rights on him, although they'd rather wait until the U17 World Cup ends to sell him for more money (maybe 10 million euros for the same percentage). It looks quite serious, I don't think it's just a rumour. I didn't see him playing more than twice, but I think he's fast and skilled.

It doesn't mean that he's better than Robinho NOW, but in the FUTURE he could be. Anderson has a powerful shot with his left foot and a very strong body at this early (he's 17).

Anyway, he has some problems with his behavior. He's just a kid with priority mistakes.

Well, in that case i'm excited, and i would really love to see him at Benfica, but honestly i don't believe in that move, Inter and other big clubs are interested in him and i don't think we can get him with those clubs after him. It is said hat MSI will help us to get him, that would be more reliable and more possible for us to get him, but it was said also that we would get Robinho and Maxi Lopez by MSI and now one is at Barcelona and the other is going to Real... Also, Lisandro Lopez, that now is a Porto player...

Seeing how great he his and his age, i don't believe he'll come to us.

But i always have faith, if you know something about a future move, could you please tell me? Thanks in advance. :)
