I'd like to see a short tornament with like the Premiership top 16 players, La liga's, Bundesliga, Serie A, etc in a week week long knockout tourny. Imagine the EPL Stars, henry and johnson up front, lampard, Terry, Roy Keane, Cristiano ronaldo etc facing the elite of Serie A, or La liga with Ronaldinho, ronaldo, Aimar, luque. i think it would be more attractive than even the champions League. and would only take a several days to conclude.

yeah, obviously they would get paid. I think it would be a good showcase for each League in Europe. you could even bring over teams from the Brazilian, and argentinian leagues. Players that didnt wanna play wouldnt have to. But i imagine the FA would convince them all :p

It would be like those completly useless charity matches. Those stupid fun matches, which end in 5-7, god, i hate them. The football would be awful too, they're not used to play together. If I was a manager I wouldnt allow my players to participate in such a match.

Given that national rivalries in South and Central America are far more hateful and frequently violent than in Europe I can't see the European clubs going for a tournament like this in ANY format.

If South American guys that play their trade in Europe played for the South American team, that's a big lie. Barça's biggest star? Ronaldinho. Real Madrid's top scorer? Ronaldo. Benfica's vital defender? Luisão. Betis best assets? Assunção, Edu, Oliveira. Juventus midfield work-horse? Emerson.

Some of Milan's best players? Cafú, Kaká, Dida. Inter's best striker (when fit)? Adriano. And i'm mentioning only the Brazilians. I'll stop here, because i'm getting annoyed with the amount of ? in my post. Got it? :crazyboy:
