Hi all...I was just wondering about the speech in RTWC 98.
Now i've played (dare I say it but here goes FIFA 99...doh...however I only researched it for the speech twice & RTWC 98 is still the best)& there were numorous player names that were not in 98.
Now I belive that Younnes Bouzyky handled the speech transfer from FIFA 99 to RTWC 98.
when he did this, did he transfer all of the names in 99 to 98?

I ask this question because that would be a hell of feather under all RTWC 98 fans to have all of the name/sound files that are compatible with existing RTWC 98 updates.

Imagine to have more commented names than ever before with the most recent RTWC update of 98...mindboggling...I hope I live to see the day.

I could just hear it now---Andy Gray telling John Motson to stick a sock in it, because he's being too long winded constantly announcing player names every time they touch the ball.

Ahhh...well... wonder if Younnes is still tinkering with RTWC 98 like the real die hard fans are.

The Speech files that Younnes sent me wasn't from FIFA99 but from World Cup 98 which had the same sort of speech files. *.pbk files...

The thing is that there never actually was any sound-transfer as the only thing he did was sending me the files that were of the same kind as the ones used in FIFA RTWC 98...
I wish we could find a utility that could make *.pbk-files because I have many many sounds I could put in the game...

Yeah...that would be absolute heaven.

P.S - How's the next update coming along...cause the masses of Fifa's fans can hardly wait.

Well it's going real well.
I have updated all but two CONCACAF teams. But unfortunately the Team Management limit has now been filled so I will have to sort out which teams that should have edited Team Management...

Have another question about *PBK sound files?
-Is there a utility that allows you to hear the sounds only?

-How do you associate *PBK files with Players in RTWC 98?

-Do you have a master list of names that are associated with the *PBK files that you might be able to share with the fans?

- No, there is no utility that I know of that can do that... If anyone finds one, please tell me...

- Use FEd98 to see their player indexes and change filenames manually.

- No. I check them with FEd98.

Sorry Webhead I don't think I explained it properly...Let me try again.

In the "Audio" files you have 4 sub directories one of them happens to be PLRS i'm assuming it means players--or commented player names (If i'm wrong please let me know).
Now for example one of the *PBK files looks like this--P01088.pbk--How can I find out exactly which player's name this is that is being commented?

Use FEd98.
It is not so easy to explain in words but the index column is hidden. It is located to the right of the tac column. You'll have to make it visible by dragging it with the mouse...
