View Full Version : SuperLiga: Benfica x Sporting [P+R] -- the D Day
Punkt 09-05-2005, 10:33:PM http://www.sl-benfica.com/extras/thumbs/slbxscp.gif
it's the SuperLiga "final" next saturday at Estádio da Luz.
both clubs are tied in the 1st place with 61 points with Sporting advantage in case of a draw because won 2-1 in the first game. a victory of one of them will pratically give the title. a draw will left the fight for the last week. so Benfica MUST win this.
if Porto drop points against Rio Ave the two teams could secure the championship with a win. (Benfica for 1-0 or 2 goals of difference to get the advantage in case of tie)
Liedson will not play because he is banned.
Virgo 09-05-2005, 10:39:PM Just gotta hope Porto doesn't win his game which is very likely because Rio Ave don't lose much at home and the team will get fired up for the match.
1 - 0 Nuno Gomes (very hopefully :|) says the heart
0 - 0 draw says the head
Punkt 09-05-2005, 10:40:PM i forgot to predict
2-0 (Simão, Nuno Gomes) and CHAMPIONS! :rockman:
SCP19O6 09-05-2005, 10:46:PM I predict a draw, whatever the number of goals.
Vinnie Jones 09-05-2005, 10:49:PM May the best team, that´s all i got to say.
datboy 09-05-2005, 10:58:PM 2-2
Nuno Gomes, Simão
Liedson 2x
SuRFy 09-05-2005, 11:06:PM 1-1
Simao, Liedson.
Punkt 09-05-2005, 11:07:PM Liedson 2x
Liedson will not play because he is banned.
:ewan:
ForzaNerrazurri 09-05-2005, 11:10:PM I can't believe Trappattoni got you guys this far, but he sure has done it, and I'm sure it's not by luck. Good luck to both teams, I won't pick a winner, but I hate seeing the Champion picked by goal difference, so I hope there is a winner in this game, and not a tie. :)
Liedson won't play unless they try to antecipate the last game of the season to this Wednesday...or something like that;)
Benfica 1 Sporting 0
Petit scores:)
I'm not expecting a good game and I wouldn't like to be the referee in that match...I just hope that winning Benfica or Sporting...to win it clearly, without any referee cases..
FORÇA BENFICA!!!!
datboy 09-05-2005, 11:42:PM :ewan:

Funky--K 09-05-2005, 11:47:PM GOO LAGARTOS!! SAVE OUR COUNTRY'S DIGINITY AND WIN THE SUPERLIGA!

Funky--K 09-05-2005, 11:49:PM Just gotta hope Porto doesn't win his game which is very likely because Rio Ave don't lose much at home and the team will get fired up for the match.
1 - 0 Nuno Gomes (very hopefully :|) says the heart
0 - 0 draw says the head
if i'm not mistaken, if rio ave tie or win, they'll finish the championship with no losses at all at home... brilliant achievment for such club
Virgo 09-05-2005, 11:49:PM What Benfica needs to be the champion (for the the ppl from other countries)
There are two games till the end of the season...
We will be champions already next week if we win this game and if Porto doesn't win his game.
If we win against Sporting and Porto wins his game we'll have to draw our last game at least and we'll be champions.
If we draw with Sporting, we'll have to win the last game and hope Sporting loses points in the last game of the season.
If we lose... well there's always next season :ewan:
Virgo 09-05-2005, 11:50:PM if i'm not mistaken, if rio ave tie or win, they'll finish the championship with no losses at all at home... brilliant achievment for such club
nah they lost to a sh*t team after beating us :( , but it's still likely Porto drops points.
RuiCosta_10 09-05-2005, 11:57:PM If we lose... well there's always next season :ewan:
LOL :D
Well, i'm not to confident, specially if Manuel Fernandes and Nuno Gomes are not available...
If we have those players fit i believe we can win it,
A very emotional game with both sides fighting hard for the title, i say a 3-2 for us, Simão scoring two and Luisão another from a corner.
But after all, derbys aren't predictable, we never know what can happen...
Just got one thing to say: FORÇA BENFICA!!!!!!
I will be there! :)
Benfica doesn't win the championship if we beat Sporting 3-2 (for example) and Porto doesn't win. We have to win 1-0 or by 2 goals advance...since we're beaten in Alvalade 2-1.
That's a fact, Rio Ave's home run is a really nice achiviement...considering that they let go some of their best players last season...
RuiCosta_10 10-05-2005, 12:00:AM Benfica doesn't win the championship if we beat Sporting 3-2 (for example) and Porto doesn't win. We have to win 1-0 or by 2 goals advance...since we're beaten in Alvalade 2-1.

I don't believe in a game against Sporting without suffering any goal, so IF we win, the championship will be decided only in the last game.
Virgo 10-05-2005, 12:04:AM if we win 3 - 2 or 2 - 1 a draw with Boavista will be enough and I can't see us throwing the championship away at Bessa when in need of only a draw, so what really matters is winning.
SCP19O6 10-05-2005, 12:26:AM Question: If Benfica finishes 4th, and wins the Cup, then will be the 6th place team that goes to UEFA Cup and not Setúbal, right?
Virgo 10-05-2005, 12:32:AM right
sl benfica 10-05-2005, 03:12:AM This match will be 11 years to the day since we won our last title, and it was the same match up SCP vs SLB 3-6 that time. I hope this weekend game is just has great.
2-0 Simao, Geo(our Sporting killer :funny: )
MaSsiVe 10-05-2005, 04:46:AM Just imagine Benfica finishing 4th and losing the Cup...right now that would be your worst nightmare guys :p
Predicting a draw or a win for Sporting, hoping for a Benfica win..in case Porto wins his match, or else I'd settle with Sporting winning it like..
3-6 :fool:
I think it will be a thriller, hopefully matching the cup game ;)
Mikey 10-05-2005, 05:05:AM Glad Ill get to see this game, the first big Portuguese league game Ive seen.
Is Moutinho close to a NT callup? Hes been very good in the last few rounds of Uefa Cup.
I think Benfica is overall the better team, so being at home I think they'll win.
3-2
Luisao, Nuno Gomes, Fernandes -- Moutinho, Rochemback
Punkt 10-05-2005, 07:16:AM Rochemback chances of play in the derby are remote. he got an injury in Alkmaar.
In Benfica, Fernandes and Nuno Gomes are in doubt too.
Parasol 10-05-2005, 09:39:AM Rochemback chances of play in the derby are remote. he got an injury in Alkmaar.

they will all end to be playing this saturday, it's the match of the season and the coaches simply won't leave them apart.
it will be soooooooo different with Fernandes instead of that sh*tty Bruno Aguiar that simply can't make a pass.
anyway, for me:
2-1 , sporting to score first
0-1 -> Beto
1-1 -> Geovanni
2-1 -> Miguel
:lui: :fool: :lui:
[dfm] 10-05-2005, 10:54:AM A week ago i was hoping for a draw in this game, now i want Sporting to kick Benfica's ass since I don't want them to be champs, with that victory Porto "just" have to win in Vila do Conde and we'll only depend on us in the last game to finish second...
SCP19O6 10-05-2005, 01:44:PM Tenho um problema com o corrector ortográfico do Word.

Its over. The waiting continues. For the record, we didn't blow it against Penafiel, we blew it against Rio Ave. That's what killed us in the end.
MaSsiVe 10-05-2005, 03:58:PM not remotely funny
Yes it was, at least remotely :p
Mikey I think Moutinho isn't near to getting a place in the NT right now, because there are lot of contenders to a place on our midfield, but he sure will be an ace in the future!
He plays with such class, it seems like he has loads of experience from a long carreer...which is not the case, but he's just that good IMO.
I think it's a matter of him having another classy season like this one before he's called up regularly to the NT, and making a huge deal to go to some huge European club.
That is so going to happen, watch out for this kid :rockman:
Mikey 10-05-2005, 04:05:PM He reminds me of De Rossi from Roma, who is also a great young talent (Y)
Playmaker 10-05-2005, 04:10:PM I'm expecting this game to be a nerve breaker, a great game and a 2-0 win for Sporting. Scoring Viana and Moutinho.
Go SPOOOOOOOOOOOORTING!

Nakamura 10-05-2005, 06:07:PM Well, this will certainly be the most exciting derby of the last decade and I truly hope we can have a great game, with two teams playing good football, playing to win, with fair-play and that there is no talk about the referee afterwards.
I think that whoever wins this game will deserve to win the title. This is the most important game of the season for both teams (although Sporting will have another one that's as or more important afterwards, the UEFA Cup final) and now is the time they give everything to try and be champions.
In one aspect, I'm glad we lost against Penafiel. Obviously, not because of the championship, because we threw away our biggest chance with that result (and as I said, I think that game can make all the difference) and it will be much much harder (to the point that racionaly I don't have many hopes). But, on the other hand, this will ensure that the team (Trap and players) knows they HAVE to win and play for that result, instead of playing for a draw, something that almost certainly would be disastrous.
The big question is whether our players will be fully mentalized of this, if they will show complete dedication, concentration, will to win, enough quality football in order to do that and also the always necessary luck. And even if they do, will that be enough to beat a team that's playing as well and is as motivated as Sporting? This, for me, will be the factor that decides the game. If our players can do this and truly show their heart, desire for victory and quality, if they outdo themselves, they CAN win. But the truth is that the odds are against us, because Sporting has advantage, is highly motivated, has a better squad and is favourite.
I don't like making predictions (apart from those only for fun/prediction games), so I will just say what are my feelings: my heart believes in a victory for us, my head says Sporting will beat us. I already said this and I repeat it: as a Benfiquista, I always have faith, no matter what; from a distanced point of view, I can't see Sporting not being champions. Anyway, I will support my team to the end, always, no matter what happens!
Finally, just the following thought: this is football, it's a game, a sport of great beauty, that rises great passions and can be source of tremendous joy. But it's only that, a game. So, whoever wins it or loses it should remember that. Sure, those who win will be very happy, those who lose will be heart-broken, that's a part of the beauty of it. But anyway, it's no reason for hatreds, for dramas, for confrontations! There are many many things far more important than this and that truly matter. Relativize things.
I will gladly come here to congratulate Sporting and their fans, if it ends up being them the champions, as it seems now, or by chance, any other club. Football should be a positive factor in our socities, not a negative one. If you win, celebrate a lot, enjoy it fully, but don't forget to respect your opponents. If you lose, don't let that affect you too much and also show you know how to lose. As Virgo said, there's always next time! This goes out to Benfiquistas, Sportinguistas, Portistas, Bracarenses, Boavisteiros, etc, etc, etc. Basically, to all football fans out there! Peace, viva o futebol! :)
e, claro, VIVA O BENFICA!!!

RuiCosta_10 10-05-2005, 07:11:PM Great post once again Nakamura! :)
INFESTA 10-05-2005, 07:15:PM I see a 1-1 draw on this one. Either that or a Sporting win. Come on, we all know there's only one team that deserves the championship this year - as much as I hate to admit it - and that is Sporting. They won all the tough matches by a clear margin, and the only reason why they aren't champions yet is because of Frango Ricardo and occasional lack of consistency on defense.
::shinji:: 10-05-2005, 07:52:PM yeah, I can't disagree with that last part....if Sporting ends up not winning the title, they can certainly point fingers at Ricardo and Polga. Liedson himself has certainly scored enough goals, so lack of offence isn't the problem, obviously..

serhat09 13-05-2005, 06:57:PM Huge game, my friend is a sporting fan so, Forca Sporting!
Parasol 14-05-2005, 08:17:AM today is the game of the decade for us, and i really expect us to start the game pressing alot looking for an early goal, probably in the first 20 minutes, if we do score then sporting will have to come forward looking for an equaliser and it should make a really interesting match to watch.
things i like in sporting team:
- Rui Jorge
- Polga
things i don't like in sporting team:
- Douala's pace
i think simao and geovanni will get to create lots of chances by the flanks, giving nuno gomes the chance to score, but since he needs about 20/30 shots to score a goal it will be difficult, but i believe.
my prediction:
2-0 or 3-1
if sporting scores first then will be really hard for us to fight back, we really need to take care of sporting's counter attack.
Match of the decade for Benfica
ScimitarPES2 14-05-2005, 10:20:AM Benfica 2-3 Sporting
.. or, from a neutral point of view, a 2-2 draw would take the title fight right down to the last day. (H)

Vinnie Jones 14-05-2005, 09:49:PM Congrats Benfica, looks like the long wait is over. I doubt that Boavista in their current form can do anything to stop Benfica from getting a draw or a victory. The goal was clean, it was clearly a Ricardo blunder, Luisão didn´t touch him. About Sporting, when you play for a draw, you end up losing. In those last minutes they were dominating Benfica, if they have a lil more ambition, they could have get a better result. Quim was excellent and Ricardo well...we can safely say that he costed his club the championship. I hope that Scolari saw the match because as soon as we get rid of Ricardo in our Nt the better.

he said in the post match interview he wanted to stay because he loves the club, but I don't think he will :(
I would love him to stay and I think he has the profile to be the captain. He has a leader attitude.
SCP19O6 14-05-2005, 10:37:PM Congratulations to Benfica, almost certain champions.
We played for the draw for most of the time, and who plays for the draw, usually loses.
At least we secured at least the 3rd place, Porto can not say the same (if Sporting and Porto lose and Braga wins)
BTW, the goal, of course, is clean, it was an error by Ricardo.

Well the last time that happened was in the 1987-1988 in the semi finals when you guys beat us 2-0 on aggregate :(, so that was the last time you guys won a title? Holy crap :S, Steaua has won 10 Romanian Championships since then so I think I've gotten over that semi-final elimination :D. Hope you guys end up champs a club of Benfica's caliber shouldn't have droughts like this.
[dfm] 14-05-2005, 11:23:PM I saw the replay of the goal very carefully and lots of times and to be honest I think there was a foul, Luisão touches Ricardo's chest with his back and the law says when there's contact(even if the touch is minimum) it's a foul, my first impression was that the goal was clear but the more I see it the more looks clear to me, it's a shame this league was decided with doubtfull decisions... :nape:
Also one word to what i'm seeing in the TV's and here in my hometown, it seems u guys are already champs... pathetic. If u guys fail the title all of this will seem ridiculous in the end... a little more moderation will be good cause u still haven't won anything.
Tiago_10 14-05-2005, 11:31:PM IEI I'm glad we won the game. Altough it was a poor game, specialy in the 1st half, I think Benifca deserved to win. We had 2 clear chances before the goal, ( that was clean, that thing about being polemic is just ridiculous imo ) that Simão somehow managed to miss, and mostly because Sporting played to draw, that was defenately a big mistake from Peseiro.
Peseiro who, I would like to add, had a very professional attitude with the defeat, not many coaches in the Superliga would take it has he took. :jap:
Trap almost gave me an heart attack tho, making only a sub at the 80 (?) min..
Now we mustn't think we're champions just yet, and Benfica specially this season tends to fail in decisive moments, but I think we can defenately become champions next week, if we don't play to draw, like Sporting did agaisnt us.
Anyway let's celebrate this win
SLBBBB SLBBB SLBBB SLBBB GLORIOSO SLBBB :rockman: :jacko: (H)
P.S.: The MOM for me is undoubtdly Manuel Fernandes, what (another) great game by the kid. Pure class, his moves on the ball, that pass to Simão was classy as well. It just shows how important he is to Benfica nowdays with only 19 years old.

we played with Steaua in the group phase of 94/95
1-1 in Bucharest and 2-1 in Lisbon :)
Panduru scored against us and we signed him in the season after
Tiago_10 14-05-2005, 11:45:PM Yeah, I mean blaming it on the ref because of that decision is really ridiculous, there was no contact ffs. Ricardo is a bad, very inconsistent keeper period. :jambo: ( than again, he may be consistent - in a negative way - if you consider he usually makes "frangos" ). Like Jorge Coroado said in Sic Noticias, Ricardo was contesting the refs decision bcause it was a blunder, and was somehow trying to justify it blaming the ref. :nape:
Virgo 15-05-2005, 12:15:AM McCarthy handled the ball clearly today. Shocking stuff really... it was a blatant handball, dunno how the ref could miss a thing like that, it was nowhere near his chest.

did you see what J.Pereira did after the ref blew the wistle. what a spoiiled little brat, to bad he didn't do that to Sa Pinto, he would have got knocked out and rightfully so. pathetic kid, reminds me of a certain benfica fan on this forum
::shinji:: 15-05-2005, 04:52:AM totally clean goal, there's nobody to blame exept Ricardo. Luisao was to the ball first, and if anything it was Ricardo that flew into his path. In any case there was barely any contact made, if any at all.
was dissapointed with the game overall though, wasn't nearly the spectacle it was supposed to be. Wether we win the title or not, the sooner Trap is out of there the better. We were so conservative it was annoying, especially in the first half. We took no risks and if it wasn't for Ricardo it would have ended 0-0.. :boohoo:
Simao again sucked on the big occasion. Manuel Fernades was the only player that deserves a thumbs up.

we just don't play great football. We have some very good players but consistantly put it very conservative performances and lack that attacking attitude. I'm glad we're in first place ofcourse, but Sporting and Porto have generally been poor in the league this year which I'm sure contributed to our success so far. We will get absolutely torn apart in the CL if we don't make some positive changes for nest season.. :(

Nakamura 15-05-2005, 10:53:AM BENFICA!!! :rockman:
We needed to win and we did it! I'm very glad that my heart was proven right and not my head. The players, although not always doing well (the game was disappointing in terms of quality), showed an enormous ambition and determination, something that sometimes isn't enough but is always an essential requirement. Although the draw was probably the fairest result, the truth is that Sporting by not clearly playing to win, ended up by being punished for this, as it usually happens.
The best players on our side were Luisão (he should be our captain, he has such a tremendous spirit and leadership), Manuel Fernades (this kid is fantastic, such maturity for someone so young) and Geovanni (he always seems to rise up his game in big occasions).
The goal, obviously, was clean. It was a tremendous Ricardo blunder and if you see the replay, you can see he closed his eyes when he went for the ball and then, when he sees it's a goal, he starts yelling "Foi mão, foi mão!" to the referee...
Final thoughts:
- We have to give credit to Sporting. I think no one can deny that they in fact were the team that played the best/most beautiful football in the Superliga, but also everybody knows that many times it isn't the team that plays more pleasantly that wins. If Sporting had been more consistent, they would have been champions. Cheers to SCP1906 and all of Sporting fans. Best of lucks against CSKA, I'll be supporting you guys and hoping you can achieve an historic victory for your club and for Portuguese football.
- We're closer than ever... 11 years after, we can be champions in the next game! BUT WE'RE NOT CHAMPIONS YET! We haven't won anything yet (apart from a CL play-off), so it really bothers me to see Benfiquistas celebrating in the Marquês and stuff like that. While it is somewhat comprehensible, given that there is a great anxiety and joy for being close to reaching a goal that we don't for years, it is clearly an extemporaneous, unappropriate and dumb attitude. We can still even end up in 3rd (if all the big 3 end with the same points), so cautious is needed.
- I hope our players have full conscious of this too, that they haven't won yet and that they have to give 200% in the game against Boavista. We also can't play for the draw (although it's enough to be champions), because that usually means losing. Heart, calm, concentration, ambition and intelligence is what they need to show, also hoping we have luck by our side. This is THE moment of the season and they need to deliver. They need to be able to handle the pressure and definitely step up in this decisive occasion. It will be a very hard game, make no mistakes about it, we don't win in Bessa for more than 10 years and we haven't even scored a goal there for 6 or 8, if I'm not mistaken. Also, I think the fact that Boavista isn't playing for anything more than dignity will take a lot of pressure of them and make it even harder.
- I won't be here next weekend. I'll be in Spain, Merida specifically, a trip that has been scheduled for a long time, so I won't be able to follow the games and I will only know of the results when I arrive. I hope that when I arrive, my fellows Benfiquistas are celebrating the title and that I can join them! If not, it will surely be heart-breaking, but sh!t happens, so... Anyway, I'll be here to accept our win or loss afterwards, to party if it's us or to congratulate Porto if it's them (who would have thought that after such a bad season they would still have aspirations of winning the "Tri" in the last game). Hugs to all the Portuguese SG members, see you around.
Força, Benfica!!! Rapazes, estamos convosco!
Justice has been made...
Benfica won (6)
INFESTA 15-05-2005, 11:14:AM Frango Ricardo strikes again! (H)
I wrote it before the game that if it wasn't for Sporting's defence and him mostly, Sporting would have clinched the title by now. Hope that ends the Baía x Ricardo feud for good. The comparison was never fair for Vítor, since both keepers play in a totally different league: 'best portuguese keepers of all time League' vs 'Most overrated players of all time League'.
Thank you Ricardo for your miserable season. :jap:
I believe this weekend Porto got the best result possible of most games: Braga lost 2 points, Sporting said bye-bye, and our title hopes depend solely on ourselves and the club that'll have the (arguably) most difficult fixture next week: Benfica.
A win or draw in Bessa to a disappointed Boavista doesn't seem that difficuly to achieve, but a Boavista's triumph should not surprise anyone.
I'd say Porto's chances of a threepeat are somewhere around 35%.
I BELIEVE! :rockman:
Parasol 15-05-2005, 12:00:PM People went to Marquês to celebrate cause they know it's closer than ever. Even more people went there when sporting lost to AZ and became the uefa cup finalist to celebrate, but that noone talks, so i think people that went there went for a good reason. There wasn't that many people there as they'll be next week in the MAR VERMELHO all over the country.
the game was a thriller, with sporting starting better and getting a few corners getting over my nerves. Ricardo started to look nervous in the shot Manuel Fernandes did that he almost got it away and it was it.
in the second half we started great, with simão missing 2 clear goal chances i began to fear the draw or even the defeat when rochemback got subbed for viana and sporting grew immediatly, leaving our midfield empty. But then Mantorras got in for Miguel, that shouldn't had played, leaving benfica with a great attacking force and reinforcing the midfield, pushing sporting to their area in search of a goal. Then a foul... i started making up plays for it and this very same option came to my mind, Petit getting the ball to the penalty area and Luisão to score, AND IT DID HAPPEN!!!!! omg it was so great to be at the stadium yesterday, everyone hugging and believing this is our year. It was the hell for sporting players, the real INFERNO DA LUZ.
we can go celebrate the title in porto, in the very same avenida dos aliados that porto uses to celebrate their winnings and i don't think our players will miss this chance to be champions. I BELIEVE!
we simply have to play for a win in a bessa stadium full of benfica fans, since benfica bought all the tickets, leaving even Panteras Negras, boavista's ultras outside their gate, causing great annoyment between the supporters and the boavista SAD, and they won't be at the game as they weren't yesterday in guimaraes as a sign of their protest. they also appeal for the boavista socios not to go to the stadium, so it will be all benfica.

So talking again about the goal I keep my opinion that might be a foul, if u analyse 90% of that plays are disallowed and if u look better it wasn't even goal of Luisão, Ricardo scored with his left hand... anyway i have to say it was another blunder of Ricardo, it's annoying see him make such ridiculous mistakes but at the same time was expectable from such an overrated GK like he his.
Now i hope in the next weekend we have no big mistakes that can decide even more what is already a fake league IMO, let's hope "se escreva direito por linhas tortas", which means Porto will be the champs and will give some justice to this league(even though Sporting was the team that deserved more this championship), if that happens everyone will laugh of the ridiculous celebrating chants of "Campeoes, Campeoes" yesterday... one thing is for sure, expect an infernal reception at Porto's city next week.

I know that... I said it was understandable to a point, but still it IS extemporaneous. It IS closer than ever, but the truth is we still haven't won the championship. No, they can't, as Parasol said. But Benfica can still end in 3rd (if we lose and Porto and Sporting win, because in this situation, as all teams have the same points, it's the matches between the three that count and Benfica is the worst in this) and Porto in 4th (if they lose and Sporting and Braga win).

Exactly. I don't want to imagine what's gonna happen if we still don't have any decent subs and still have that Trappatoni commanding the team. I don't know where Camacho is right now, but I would really like to see him in Benfica next season., or someone like him. But does that forbid the many Benfiquistas that Porto (city) has from celebrating the title (if we win it) in their own city? Does that give the right to a group of troublemakers to insult people or to resort to violence to prevent them from being happy? It seems like you think so, which only enhances how you see football as a mean to promote hatred, as a war.
This is something that goes far beyond football rivalries and goes into criminal actions and vandalism, something so despicable there's not even words for it... I'm really disgusted... If football serves for this, I prefer that we lose the championship, so that nobody, people that simply want to support their club and have a good time, gets hurt next weekend. Football is nothing compared to people's lifes and well-being.

Yeah, intelectualness at its best... I think the nazis would be proud of a speech like that.
Anyway, I won't bother answering more or paying attention to a person that thinks and behaves this way. I've read things here that I thought weren't possible and that deeply sicken me... Football being put above elemental human rights, sociability, respect and interaction. Instead of being a factor of society and human development, it's football used as a weapon, as something to promote negative feelings and social confrontation. Once again, this hasn't anything to do with clubs, but only with human qualities (or lack of them, better saying).

funny to see Porto supporters more sour with the Benfica win than Sporting supporters.
I was positively surprised by SCP1906 who congratulated us after the game and negatively surprised by Dfm.
I always thought you were a good person and you were only biased because of your love for your club. I guess I was wrong, you're a waste of oxygen :(
I don't aprove Punkt's and Rui Costa's reaction but it was well deserved.
Infesta please don't let the portuguese SG community die because of this. Even though they're very biased we manage to have good discussions here once in a while, even if they all stepped out of line this time.

Damn it Punkt don´t leave bcause of that ******* idiot, who cares about what he says ? He says crap in every post, flamming the threads he passes by, he's one of the reasons Porto supporters are seen as c*nts in this forums. Just ask, specially to the italians why they did/do use those anti-porto sigs.
I know many Porto fans who respect my and every team, DFM is just a disgrace to those, who unfortonately, don't seem to be many, but that's PDC fault to, inciting to violence and hate agaisnt specialy Benfica, bcause is the biggest club and was the greatest threat to them, at that time, and still is, that "anti-mouros" - to which i refer with disgust, was initiated by the ****er, trying to motivate the players and fans agaisnt us.
Oh an DFM, you dumbass, do you really think God has anything to do with football ffs ? I thought you were smarter than Bush.. that is IQ < 80 by your posts, you repetedly confirm the opposite.

I think violence is the ultimate thing to use but unfortunatelly sometimes is necessary, does this make me a Nazi or something?? :kader: Never heard that quote of Winston Churchill that to have peace you have to make the war? All this hate around my person and my opinions were one of the reasons that made me took a break a few months ago and honestly i'm tired of standing this silly discussions saying i'm this and that... i don't mind to leave and u will probably will be more happy since u don't have someone to face u and tell u some truths but honestly i think i'll stay, if u find me annoying or something that's your problem, i never insulted anyone like some people did with me so my conscious is tranquil(?).

Even if we win the championship being benefited every game of the season, even if it was with Porto, violence should NEVER be used.

MaSsiVe 15-05-2005, 05:08:PM Wow this thread is becoming so sad :nape:
Never saw but the highlights of the match, and it seemed to me that Benfica just had the edge on this game, scoring from one of the few chances they've had. Sporting were pussies, Peseiro is the pussy-mor..
But it is remarkable that people come to a Benfica vs. Sporting game thread to say that the Porto goal was ilegal and sh't..it's not even possible to have a clean call on that, but you all seem to be so sure, and find it even shocking..now THAT is shocking, how biased people can be :kader:
E o Tello é um maricas, se o João Pereira fizer uma merda dakelas no Bessa leva na boca de certezinha :rockman:
Now Benfica loses, we win, Sporting wins, and we get 64 points to each team. And Porto are crowned :sun:

O Benfica e o F.C. Porto têm boas equipas, mas o Sporting pratica melhor futebol.»

Anyway, I must say I'm really getting tired of all the constant wars that have been plaguing the Portuguese soccer threads in this forum lately. Although there were always some fanatic users and some trash-talk, things weren't like they are now... I'm losing my will to be here, because it's rare to have a decent, respectful and intelligent discussion. People come here to fight each other off, not to enjoy talking about football and confraternizing. Against myself I also talk, because I let myself get caught up in pointless "bate-bocas" too.

I come to these forums mainly to talk about portuguese football because we all know how poor the discussion level is in our national forums. I have done it since 2001. It's not because of a bunch of idiots that this will change.
In this period, I banned 4 portuguese folks:

- 1 Vimaranense;
- 2 Portistas.
You do the math.
Oh, a couple more will leave today.
