this saturday is the english football league conference play-off final at stoke, stevenage vs carlisle

my dad was born in stevenage and since ive been in england ive seen them play three times, two 2-0 wins and the 1-1 draw in the play-off semis.

they've done well to get this far and hopefully they will be promoted to league 2

GO STEVENAGE!!!

I just hope you don't have to go through what I went through last season at Stoke (The Conference final 2004). Seeing a whole season's work and League football go out the window on a Penalty Shootout right before your eyes is a horrible thing (Especially if you spent 5 hours getting there!) Aldershot have waited 13 years for a return to the League and to lose it like that :nape:

(and yes we blew the Shootout against Carlisle in the Semi - maybe we really ought to practice spot kicks!)

I meant getting relegated. THat's what happened to Forest, now they have to get 2 in a row to go where they want!

Ah right, with you. Aldershot weren't relegated as such. In 1989 the club was bankrupted and closed. A new club was formed in 1992 out of the ashes, but was not allowed to take Aldershot's place in the 4th division (effectively Lg 2) The new one began life about seven divisions down in the Diadora League! So to get this far in 13 years is pretty good going.
