I am about to download
"FIFA RTWC Official Speech Upgrade," Versions 1.0 up to 1.5.

I haven't previously downloaded any "Official Updates" but does that mean some players might be commented wrong if I do the sound downloads?

If you download the latest Official FIFA RTWC Update along with the speech Upgrade, no updated players will be commented wrong. Many many players without previous commentary will now be commented!

BUT!

You have to install them in the correct order! 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5...

Well, it will give lots of players that originally was without speech new speech so if you don't want the data update then I guess some players will be commented wrong... Sorry...
But why not try it with the MRA? That would solve your problem...

what is an MRA?

MRA stands for Multi Roster Assistant. These are programs that allow you to use patches without over-writing the original game. There is one for Jedi Knight called Patch Commander and for FIFA games called SweetPatch (www.fifa-mra.com). They manage the files that are loaded when you run the game through them, so that you can have a number of patches on your system but use them one at a time (sometimes even more, once you start loading balls and turfs as well, through a special Favourites folder). Basically, it means you can try a patch without over-writing any changes you may have made, and if you don't like it, you can dump the patch in the bin without any heartache.

Or if you don't want to use the MRA you could just try and install my patch, then you could, if you don't like it, just delete the audio\plrs folder and replace it with the audio\plrs folder from the game cd. That would bring back all the original sounds...
