That player jesterovic looks interesting. Never heard of him though.

Sahin has to be one of the top talents in all of Europe. I doubt BVB accepts anything less than 15 million... seriously.

Dortmund offered Koller another contract now that he got injured.

Dortmund is interested in Altintop for the winter transfer, but wont be able to afford him.

Chelsea's scout is in Peru and is loving Sahin... who will most likely be the tournament MVP.

I hope Nuri Sahin is the second coming of Zidane. The kid is brilliant. Today he along with 9 other turks came back from 3-0 to tie Brazil 3-3. Nuri scored a brilliant goal and assisted 2 others. Brazil then cheated and scored in the last minute. He has now been called up to the A team against Germany. I love this kid and I hope we dont sell him.

Hendrik
30-09-2005, 07:55:PM
There's still chance that he will play for the German nt until he makes his first appearence in the Turkish A team. :(

adizlaja

That chance is about as close to 0 as it gets. Id love to have him on the German national team... but he wants to represent his "home" country.

Germany's young generation is looking real promising at the moment. If I were him I'd represent Germany, but I'm sure his dad had some say in who his son should represent. But this is awesome, we're unearthing a gem right before everyone's eyes, and he's OURS!

Havent heard much about Pauuwe. I'd love to have de Jong, Larrson and Pienaar. I hope Ailton works out better than Buckley. He has been very disappointing. Pienaar is linked with many other clubs who are much better qualified than BVB... basically no chance of getting him.

Vagegast
07-10-2005, 09:09:PM
HSV and Manchester United have been linked with De Jong; Pienaar has been linked with you, Liverpool, Valencia and Manchester City.

Paauwe has been linked to Koln for 2 years now.

Could you give some more info on the players... what are their streghts and weaknesses. also ive heard mixed reviews about Pienaar

Vagegast
07-10-2005, 09:46:PM
De Jong: Incredibly versatile player. Can play multiple positions in defense but comes best to his right in midfield. Very combative. Can score goals. Word on the street (unsubstantiated rumour) is that he has already signed a pre-contract with Manchester United.

Pienaar: creative player who mostly plays on the right side of the midfield. Great vision. Massively underrated (and misused on the right wing) at Ajax.

Paauwe: :sb9:

07-10-2005, 09:51:PM
Thanks for that. Pienaar seems like a good replacement for Rosicky once he is sold after the WC. BvM knows lots of dutch players so he should be able to get us a replacement.

Voltaic Borusse
10-10-2005, 08:07:AM
The Henrik Larsson rumors seem to be gathering lots of pace! Under normal circumstances I could not see Larsson trading in Barcelona for Dortmund, but with the World Cup looming and all, I would say the move is very plausible, and could happen in December. Larsson needs to be playing regularly on a World Cup year, and from what I'm hearing he's not getting much playing time at Barca. Ronaldinho, Eto'o, and Guily are all ahead of him in the pecking order.

Make it happen, Watzke. Bring him in.

Pienaar seems like a good replacement for Rosicky once he is sold after the WC.

If the Czechs even qualify for World Cup, which looks like a big doubt at the moment.

The defense was pitiful as per usual, Worns is so ****e, and Dede along with Metzelder looked extremely out of place. Had Kaiserslautern not made any stupid mistakes, they would have won that game. But at least we were able to capitalize on their mistakes, instead of squandering easy oppertunities like we normally do. And what was up with the techno music?!

Dortmund linked with Balaban

Borussia Dortmund have been linked with Croatian international Bosko Balaban.

The striker looks set to leave UEFA Champions League starters Club Brugge at the end of his contract next summer and Dortmund seem ready to join the hunt for his services as they attempt to find a replacement for giant forward Jan Koller.

The Czech international, who is currently sidelined after tearing cruciate ligaments, has announced that he will not extend his spell at the Westfalenstadion.

Dortmund were rebuffed in their attempts for Barcelona's Swedish international Henrik Larsson and landing Balaban on a free transfer could help coach Bert Van Marwijk to solve his problems up front.

Balaban, who flopped playing Premiership football for Aston Villa, has established himself as one of the most reliable goalscorers in the Jupiler League and is believed to be keen to strive to prove himself in a bigger league once again.

Free?! Watzke, make it happen.

Yeah, I couldn't believe Kringe (who did quite well) was starting in Degen's place. You know you're not producing when a midfielder takes over your fullback spot. But over all, I thought it was a fairly even game. Oliver Neuville's goal was complete luck, it was gifted to him by the crossbar.

Steven Pienaar has turned down the latest contract-offer from Ajax and looks on his way out. Apparently, Dortmund are willing to snatch him up in the January transfer window, meaning that Ajax will at least get some money out of him. I thought you might be interested and was wondering if you guys have heard anything.

adizlaja
05-11-2005, 12:41:AM
Thanks for the update. I highly doubt Borussia can afford any transfer fee above 750k-1million since that is the money insurance will give back from Kollers salary. I would love to have Pienaar in Dortmund, but there are bigger clubs after him... it will end up just like the Mark van Bommel situation...except Van Bommel proved himself much more.

We lost 2-1 to Leverkusen.. but we were outplayed so its an acceptable loss.

But damn this read just made my day:

++++
Former Brazilian international and Sao Paulo striker Marcio Amoroso has admitted that he longs for a return to Borussia Dortmund, the club he left under such acrimonious circumstances in April 2004.
.
"I have always said that I really liked Germany from my time at Dortmund," Amoroso told Bild am Sonntag.
.
"I would have no problem coming back. All the people I had problems with are gone and I love the Dortmund supporters and the stadium."
.
Amoroso, 31, joined Dortmund for a club record 25 million euros from Parma in 2001 - still a Bundesliga transfer record - and scored 18 goals to help the club win the 2002 German title.
.
But when the club's acute financial problems came to light in 2004 Amoroso returned to Brazil for a knee operation, claiming the Dortmund medical staff were inept, and refused to come back.
.
Dortmund, now an estimated 118 million euros (147,160 dollars) in the red, cancelled the player's contract in April 2004 and he left on a free transfer with the club management saying they never wanted to see him again. — AFP
+++++

I would kill to have him back at the club. He has to accept half of what he was paid before though and I'm not sure that he will. Please make this happen! He is the finisher that we are needing sooooooo badly!!!! :boohoo:

Voltaic Borusse
07-11-2005, 03:59:PM
I think most Dortmunders would reject the prospect of having Amoroso back, but I would welcome him back in an instant, provided he gets half of his previous salary. And yeah, no player is bigger than a club, but we all make mistakes, and Amoroso made a mistake. Beggars can't be chosers, so let's bring Amoroso back.

adizlaja
07-11-2005, 09:02:PM

Voltaic Borusse
07-11-2005, 11:38:PM
Fans want to win whilst retaining some dignity. Trust me, the general consensus in Westfalen is "we don't need that son of a bitch back, we're okay the way we are now, for the time being".

adizlaja
08-11-2005, 04:39:AM
We are playing like a bunch of pussies with no killer instinct whatsoever. Buckley has been awful... Amoroso and Ebi would be great up top. The club must take some chances now and this is one Im willing to take a gamble on. He did great at Sao Paolo or wherever he went.. and showed he still has some gas in the tank. Now the question is will Watzke take the chance and I hear he said "Amoroso will come back only over my dead body!" **** that ****. I want to win and I want to win now. I dont give a **** about what he did in the past, he will no do it in the future. Sammer left and Sammer was a incompetent son of a bitch.

Today Mr Fatass Ailton was in Dortmund to take part in Julio Cesar's farewell game. He said he'd love to play for Dortmund, but it's up to Besiktas if or how much money they ask for him. Zorc stated they're interested. :chew:

He deserves a lot of respect for being a great player.

He deserves no respect for being a coach. The team was great when we won the title, and he almost lost it for us. He helped knock us out of the CL when we played Real Madrid. He destroyed our youth system. He has no tactical knowledge whatsoever. Did you see what he did with Stuttgart last season? Complete moron. Doesnt deserve another job.

Before you attack us for thinking he is an idiot, first see what he has done to the club.

So many coaches would have loved to coach the club before he ruined it... so what the hell is your point?

And ****, just as you think it cant get worse it does. Buckley has to do something that useless ****. Also, we must get some rejects during the winter.

It's just scripted nonsense. Of course Ailton would say that upon playing in Julio Cesar's farewell game. Besiktas are probably paying more money to Ailton in a month than we could in a life time.

Anyone has got highlights ? :)

adizlaja
19-11-2005, 05:18:PM
damn, I guess miracles do happen every day!!

We won against Hertha Berlin 2-0 with two goals from EBI!!! Our team was very depleted with injuries and Worns, Brezenska and of course Koller and Ricken were not expected to play.

http://bilder.sportsandbytes.de/bvb/andere_Mannschaften/SchemaBerlin_1132411730.gif

Kehl at DC? That was our only option and it seemed to work damn well since Hertha did not score. Also, Sahin and Kruska? They gotta be the youngest 2 starters ever.

I think those jerseys that we wore are lucky!! Christmas jerseys!

Voltaic Borusse
19-11-2005, 10:39:PM
Great win. Any highlites? We're currently 7th on the table and Smolarek is 2nd overall in scoring with 11 goals, behind Miroslav Klose. We're apparently after Alexander Frei, too. He was Ligue 1 top-scorer last year for Rennes. Word is he wants to join us.

adizlaja
20-11-2005, 04:20:AM
Frei would be great. Too expensive for us though. Watzke guaranteed reinforcements to come in during January. Perhaps Maxi Lopez?

Voltaic Borusse
20-11-2005, 04:53:AM
Yeah, he's not getting too many minutes at Barca., isn't he? I think he's way down in the pecking order, behind Messi even. He's looked pretty decent when I've seen him, though. I could see a possible loan-spell.

Players we've been linked with, thus far: Hamit Altintop (Kaiserslautern), Bosko Balaban (Club Brugge), and Alexander Feri (Rennes). We need to go after a defender, as well ... I bet we could get Oguchi Onyewu (American defender) on the cheap from Standard Liege. I think he'd be perfect for the Bundesliga. The dude's mega strong; built like a rock, and domineering as hell. He's tearing up the Jupiler League from what I hear.

adizlaja
20-11-2005, 05:38:AM
Yeah man, I really like Onyewu as well... but I think he is too "American" for Dortmund. Honestly I dont think we can get him... thats how low the club has become. But man he looked like a beast the few times I've seen him. He would be awesome.

Amedik from Braunschweig is another player we are linked with. Basically we are after every player that is a forward or defender whose contract is running out.

adizlaja
28-11-2005, 05:47:AM
Yayayaya!!! We beat Nurnberg 2-1!!! I'm very very happy! Nuri Sahin became the youngest Bundesliga player to ever score a goal. The other goal was by the awesome Odonkor. This puts us in 6th place!!!

Bad news however, Dede is out till the end of the year. He should return once the winter pause is through. Man injuries are really killing us again like 2 years ago. Metzelder got hurt again as well and didnt play again Nurnberg.

Thank god for Bert Van Marwijk!!! He is a GREAT manager! :)

Dortmund are much better to watch when Koller is out. I hate to see those long balls all time long.

If Odonkor develops a decent shot he'll be lethal.

adizlaja
28-11-2005, 06:43:PM
Yeah, I agree. Koller forces Dortmund to change their game in order to suit him. When he is out everyone plays much harder and the result is usually better. I hope we do not try to buy a big Koller replacement.

Voltaic Borusse
03-12-2005, 10:28:PM
When Koller comes back from injury I hope he gets dropped to the bench. I have nothing against him, but there's no use in throwing him back into the first team now that we have new chemistry. I think we have been better statistically without Koller, too. By the way, I would welcome another tall striker. I have a strange affinity for them.

We lost 0-2 to Hannover today. Goals by Cherundolo (:(!!!!) and Dabrowski. Vince. Highlitez. Prz.

BVB Bag Amoah

Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund have won the race to sign Vitesse Arnhem striker Matthew Amoah.

Vitesse made the forward available for transfer after Amoah said he would not sign an extension to his expiring contract.

The Ghanaian had hinted that he would sit tight in Arnhem until after the World Cup, but he has opted to accept the proposal from BVB.

Vitesse and Borussia have agreed a package and Amoah will move on when the transfer window opens in January, provided he passes a medical.

The 25-year-old has been handed a deal until the summer of 2008 and BVB will hope he increases his stock at next summer's World Cup finals.

Dortmund to win Pienaar race

Ajax's Steven Pienaar is to join German outfit Borussia Dortmund.

The South African midfielder is out of contract in the summer and has turned down the offer of a new contract.

Arsenal, Manchester City, Juventus, Celtic, Real Betis and Werder Bremen had all been keen - but Dortmund look to have won the race.

Dortmund will now try to broker a deal with Ajax for Pienaar to move in January, but should a move not materialise - then he will sign a pre-contract and move in the summer.

The German club are currently locked in talks with Atletico over the departure of Tomas Rosicky and his move could finance Pienaar's deal.

Dortmund's Dutch coach Bert van Marwijk is keen to raid his homeland for talent and has already secured the signature of Matthew Amoah from Vitesse Arnhem.

Now Pienaar is also joining and his Ajax team-mate Nigel de Jong could follow suit.

De Jong is also out of contract and Dortmund are looking to beat a host of clubs to the Dutch international's signature.

Dortmund in the running for De Jong? Hahah! Yeah right, in our wildest dreams. He can pick so many better clubs over us. That would be a miracle if he signed with us. Hell staying with Ajax would be a much smarter choice than signing with BVB in this situation.

Who does he think he is offering one of the most loved and important players in the Bayern squad to a rival when he lives in Peru and knows nothing of Pizarro's preferences or even Dortmund's ability to pay for him. It's not as if Bayern will let him go for peanuts, most top division clubs couldn't afford him.

It makes you wonder how close we really were to signing van Bommel. What a great coup that could have been for Dortmund. And you can't blame De Jong for considering Dortmund. The guy is still fairly young, thus there shouldn't be an immediate rush to sign for a big club right now. And he obviously prefers regular playing time over making lots of money while riding a bench somewhere else, like most players nowadays. He's probably looking to emulate Van der Vaart's great situation at Hamburg, too.

Hell yeah!!! Our leader has extended his contract!!! Kehl is amazing, very happy he is staying. :lui:

Kehl signs extension at BVB: "I see a pretty good perspective here"

Late new years eve rocket in Dortmund. The football year 2006 started with a
big bang: with Sebastian Kehl one of the most important players of the
current team extended his contract for 2 years until june 2008. "I am happy
and I think I have done the right thing", said the midfielder, who joined
the team in 2002.

It took me a little longer, because I had to thing about", said Kehl, who
descided to stay two more years. This message made his teammates happy, and
was a big relieve for theam staff, coach Bert van Marwijk said about his
"important player": "I am happy, but not surprised, I always had the feeling
that he is going to stay".

"We are happy about his signing, because Sebastian is an important part of
the team", said Hans-Koachim Watzke, and said further: "he made a great
development and can be a leader for the young players in the team. During
the talks he was mostly interested in the future development of the team".
Also sporting director Zorc called Kehl a "team leader", and said: "this
makes clear, that he has the strong believe to buid up something in the next
years". Kehl acknoledged and announced: "I am optimistic that we make a step
forward already during this season, and reach international games in the
next couple of years".

The 25 year old descided against high offers from foreign teams and for his
heart. He talked about some "emotional factor" and said: "I belong here. I
identify myself strongly with the team and the fans", who submitted their
wishes for Kehl during the game in Frankfurt with transparents like
"Sebastian please stay and sign".

"If I hadn't the hope that the team will go up, I wouldn't have signed",
announced the player, who made 113 of his total 153 Bundesliga games for
Borussia and scored 7 goals so far: "the talks with the team staff showed
me, that something will be build up here. And I want to help to move
something at Borussia".

During a "not so easy period", Zorc said, it was managed to "keep the team
mostly together". With the important players Weidenfeller, Woerns,
Metzelder, Dede, Kehl, Kringe and Ricken the contracts have been extended
(contract of Rosicky is still valid until 2008), the talents Odonkor, Sahin
and Kruska have long-term contracts.

I saw bit of the game last weekend. We were really lucky to come off with the 3 points. Stupid mistakes by Wolfsburg led to easy goals for Dortmund. And what a terrible blunder there by Brzenska in the end. He has the muscle and height to grapple players. I guess that's just inexperience for you.

I disagree. I watched the entire game and felt we were unlucky to only win 3-2! We clearly dominated the entire game and had most of the chances. Rosicky was incredible. Smolarek was good also. Smolarek should have scored the header that hit the post and he should have also buried the rebound. Odonkor should have scored a goal where Gambino gave him a brilliant ball but Odonkor just dribbled out of bounds. The second goal from Wolfsburg was also a fluke.

We outplayed them and if we got a draw or loss from that game then we are possible the unluckiest team ever.

Voltaic Borusse
01-02-2006, 10:56:PM
Yeah, I saw when Odonkor did that. That was just nervousness' and lack of composure on his part. And yeah, Rosicky was great, but Wolfsburg hit the posts a couple times if I recall correctly. The lead-up to Smolarek's goal was king of flukey, too.

Yeah they hit the cross bar once. But just watching the game, you could clearly see who was in control. Dortmund did whatever they wanted offensively. Defensively we made 2 mistakes and they both cost us. If we make any mistake next week then we are done.

Also, the pitch was terrible b/c some of the under soil heating didnt work. That could be part of the reason odonkor screwed that chance so badly.

The Ruhrgebiet derby is not to be missed (©Getty Images)

Germany awash with Ruhr emotion

Friday, 3 February 2006
by Andreas Alf
from Frankfurt

It takes around 30 minutes to get from Gelsenkirchen to Dortmund by car. The two most significant football temples in the German Ruhrgebiet are just a short distance apart, but travelling from BV Borussia Dortmund's Westfalenstadion to FC Schalke 04's Veltins Arena means leaving one world and entering another.

A way of life
Black and yellow or royal blue is the big question in the west of Germany, with former UEFA Champions League winners Dortmund and one-time UEFA Cup holders Schalke remaining the most passionately supported clubs in the Bundesliga. As Schalke general manager Rudi Assauer said: "Here people still live the game."

Close contest
Dortmund and Schalke have a lot in common, not least their ongoing rivalry with southern German titans FC Bayern München. However, what unites them also lies at the root of their rivalry. For fans of both BVB and S04, such a tiny region can never be big enough for two such massive sides.

Key issue
This Saturday sees the 172nd Ruhrgebiet derby between the teams in Gelsenkirchen. With emotions always high, it is often nerve and willpower that settle these games rather than skill alone. New Schalke coach Mirko Slomka has certainly noted the change in his players as the match approaches. "They are definitely more focused than usual," he said.

Sell-out game
The fixture has been sold-out for months. "This derby is as popular as our home game against Bayern," Schalke's media officer Thomas Spiegel told uefa.com. "Our fans could get seats for between €6 and €51, excluding corporate seats, but only club members could get tickets and 43,000 season-ticket holders already had seats. Dortmund have received 6,000 tickets."

Busy trains
Such a large travelling contingent will put pressure on the local transport network. "All the train carriages will be full of fans in black-and-yellow shirts singing throughout the whole trip," said Spiegel. "I know that because it's the other way around when we play there."

"We will have to go looking for payback because our fans do not forgive losses against them" Schalke director Andreas Müller

Payback time
Schalke journeyed back to Gelsenkirchen in triumph earlier this season as they won 2-1 at the Westfalenstadion, but Dortmund supporters can take consolation from the fact they prevailed by the same margin on their last trip to Schalke. "We will have to go looking for payback because our fans do not forgive losses against them," said Schalke sporting director Andreas Müller.

Practical realities
Prestige aside, both sides could use a victory to keep them in the race for a place in Europe next season. Having invested heavily in players, fourth-placed Schalke can ill afford to miss out on the UEFA Champions League, while Dortmund - in eighth - need to climb to fifth to be in contention for the 2006/07 UEFA Cup.

Goals not 'Kohle'
However, while the focus in the club boardrooms in the coal-mining region may be on 'Kohle' - the German word meaning both 'coal' and 'money' - fans will be dreaming only of glory. "This derby is still my personal highlight of the season," said Müller. Supporters all over Germany would doubtless agree.

I cant really believe this before I see it on the bvb website. I like Frei... but I dont know if I like him at his price. We need a young striker who can put them behind the net, but I dont think he has proved enough yet for his club to demand so much money. We'll see what happens

The Spanish paper "AS" reports that Rosicky will leave for Atletico in the summer for 10 million + x (x = bonus money for success, nt call-ups, future transfer).

I dont buy this one either. I dont want BVB dealing with Atletico at all in the future. Who knows when they will pass us the money... Also, is that 10 million pounds or 10 million Euro? BVB wants 15 million Euro at least and will get that after the World Cup if Rosicky stays healthy. This BVB management will not get lowballed like the idiots before. They know what Rosicky is worth and will not let him walk before they get what they want. He has a contract till 2008 so its not like we are losing him for nothing anytime soon. With all that said however, I feel very strongly that Rosicky will be wearing another shirt next season, but not Atleticos.

Frei was the top goal scorer in the French league in 2005. This should be enough proof that he can "put it behind the net".

It's 10 million euro. I know they want at least the same amount back they spent on him - but who in their right mind is going to pay that for an above average midfielder? He needs a damn good World Cup.

Rosicky an above average midfielder? That couldnt be further from the truth. In Dortmund he doesnt play his natural position but is still damn good. He is EASILY our best player. He has been awesome this season. Getting 15 million for him wont be a problem after the world cup. I just read that **** about Bayern wanting that Aguero and Independiente wanting 15 million. If he was that amazing some better clubs than Atletico would join the race to land him. Has he learned anything in the past 5 years? Hell no, he was way better when he came to Dortmund in 2001 and helped them winning the trophy. He used to be all over the pitch playing lethal passes.
I doubt the Czechs will go far based on their record in big tournaments and tough group.

About that Aguero kid, you know that the South Americans teams always try to get as much as possible for their players. Most of them don't pan out (Saviola, D'Alessandro) or need time to adapt to the country (Riquelme, Demichelis).

BERLIN (Reuters) - Hundreds of fans of German club Borussia Dortmund waved huge inflatable penises at local rivals Schalke 04 on Saturday above an abusive message for their hosts.

The pink blow-ups and a huge banner in Dortmund's yellow and black suggesting Schalke fans should procreate with themselves added a splash of colour to the dour 0-0 draw between the two Bundesliga sides.

It's the first time I post here in the BVB thread :) I've been a fan of Dortmund since the 1990's. The first time I saw BVB was in the 94/95 season, a Dortmund-Juventus match in Germany that was broadcasted here in Portugal. One of the matches I've most enjoyed I can remember. Since then, I've always been a fan.

Although I haven't followed much of the Bundesliga in the last year or so, after seing some matches of Haedo Valdez, I think €4.7M is too much. Taking into consideration he wasn't even an undisputed starter for Werder. He's good, that he is, but he's not that killer striker that we need to replace Koller. Frei is the answer! He could be useful in some matches though.

I'll try to get back into the Bundesliga scene (H)

Hendrik

It doesn't mean much that Valdez was no starter at Bremen, they have the best attacking duo in Germany. What counts is that he always performed in limited playing time over the past years, he's definitely got the talent.
The transfer fee is indeed a bit too much, especially since he only had one year left on his contract.

With the Rosicky money they need to add some depth to the team. As for the next season, I can't see them leaving one of the top four behind (Bayern, Bremen, Hamburg, Schalke). They're gonna fight it out with Leverkusen, Hertha and Stuttgart for the last Uefa Cup spot.

Pfffft! Enjoy playing in a near-empty Stade Louis II, Dino. However, he won't be complaining, as he's probably going to be handsomly paid for the next two years. And Monaco's a beautiful city, too. It's a nice change of scenery for him and his wife. I still would have prefered to watch him play in the English Prem. next season, though.

But I greatly appreciate his services and contributions to Dortmund over the course of his time here. He was a loyal servant, and his ginormous presence and goals will be sourly missed. I wish him the best of luck.

So long, Dino. You towering legend, you. :(
