For the first time ever in Serie A, we have witnessed the Italian league title trophy being presented to the winning team on the pitch, an innovation which pleased the Bianconeri’s Antonio Giraudo. “The idea of presenting the trophy was of Adriano Galliani, and I consider it an excellent idea. He was good and professional in presenting the trophy.” Before this year, the trophy was never presented at the stadium and therefore the winning team could not celebrate and show the cup to its fans. Juventino 30-05-2005, 09:06:AM oh ok b6!! well ai 53000 is fantastic for what is the last time they play in a complete dell'alpi. i mean isnt reconstruction starting soon? well i mean last time coz the stadium will probably have a new name when it is completed!! Dude, why do you keep calling the stadio Dell'Alpi? :p It's Delle Alpi! (H) and btw - There are looaadsss of Juventus fans in Torino, but most of them prefer to watch the games on TV. Loootsss of people on the streets when the Juve bus was making a tour through Turin. (H) djperthglory 30-05-2005, 09:45:AM arr sorry i dunno i call it both at times. sorry juventino! its like it gets confusing coz my italian teachers at high school would always say if the first word (delle) in this case ends with a vowel. and the next wourd (alpi) in this case. then u have to drop the vowel first word and add an apostrophe. therefore making it the dell'alpi. i just wasnt certain!! forgive me as i am not italian! oh god juventino those streets, dont even get me started. i wish i was there!!! :nape: italianstyle87 30-05-2005, 09:54:AM that "dropping of the vowel" on delle, nelle, alle is correct, but delle alpi is a special case djperthglory 30-05-2005, 09:59:AM ar thanku for clarifying that italianstyle. so my teachers werent wrong its just that its a special case thing. u learn something new every day. guys i was just wondering did mutu even get a medal on sunday? italianstyle87 30-05-2005, 10:00:AM well, it's not a special case the dell' only applies to masculine singular words yes, mutu would have gotten a medal djperthglory 30-05-2005, 10:06:AM Nedved: 'Presto per parlare di rinnovo Pavel Nedved, in partenza per il Giappone per la tournee della Juventus: "Sono felice, abbiamo sorriso alla fine di questa stagione, pochi credevano in noi ma alla fine la coppa dello scudetto l'abbiamo alzata. Continuerò il prossimo anno ma è presto per parlare di rinnovo, vediamo come sto fisicamente, farò il possibile per dare il meglio. L'obiettivo è la Champions, ma solo per me, per tutti è così". ------------------------------------------------------ i just read this at calciomercato. oh if he has an injury-less season next yr the prospect of extending would be unbelievable!! :lui: i mean i know the title would assume it is too quick, but hey he is still thinking about it. its on his mind atleast!!! djperthglory 30-05-2005, 10:23:AM Giraudo Applauds Galliani 5/30/2005 9:34:00 AM The Juve Administrator praised Adriano Galliani for introducing the idea of presenting the Scudetto trophy to the winning team. Jankulovski has been linked with a move away from Udinese for some time with the likes of Milan, Juventus and Chelsea all believed to be interested in his services. The Czech Republic international is regarded as one of the best defenders in Europe and Udinese were resigned to losing him to a top club. Milan are now thought to have won the race for his signature, according to Spalletti. "Yes, Jankulovski is Milan's. That is what I have been told," Spalletti told Italy's Sky Sport television on Sunday. Jankulovski missed Udinese's final game of the season on Sunday, ironically, against Milan. Meanwhile, Spalletti hopes to stay at the club after guiding them into the UEFA Champions League after helping them finish fourth in the table. "Probably we will realise tomorrow what we did," said Spalletti "My future? I hope to stay here, I must talk with the president with tranquillity and we will decide. "I have one year left on my contract and he talked to me before the end of the season, so now I'll hear what he wants to tell me. "As for players, I think it will be difficult keeping all of them. There are important players who will have to evaluate their future, (Vincenzo) Iaquinta, (David) Pizarro, Giampiero) Pinzi and so on. "They will have to talk with president in next days too." ----------------------------------------------------- seems to me that most people had given up hope for him around the winter break ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Trezeguet makes Juventus pledge Monday 30 May, 2005 David Trezeguet is the latest Juventus player to insist that a summer move is not on the cards. The Frenchman has been linked with an exit but maintains that his immediate future is in Turin. "I can guarantee you that I won’t be moving from here," he said following his two goals in the 4-2 win over Cagliari. "I play for one of the most prestigious clubs in the world and I do feel as if I owe them something. "I’ve not been able to contribute in the way I had hoped this season and I’ll make up for that in the new campaign." Trezeguet has had an injury plagued term but has still managed to net nine League goals in 18 appearances. The former Monaco man’s pledge to the Old Lady comes just days after Gigi Buffon and Zlatan Ibrahimovic rubbished talk of moves to Real Madrid. Meanwhile, Trezeguet has also passed opinion on the Alessandro Del Piero – Fabio Capello debate. "I understand what Del Piero wants, he has the same desire as myself, Ibrahimovic and Marcelo Zalayeta," he continued. "We are all at the disposal of the Coach and it is up to him to make the decisions he feels are correct." Del Piero stated on Friday that he wanted to remain at Juve but only if he was allowed to be a protagonist. Trezeguet added: "Alex is a great and also the captain but I agree with the Coach. Capello can’t guarantee a first team shirt to anybody." ---------------------------------------------------- more and more i see Mutu prematurely leaving :nape: mark77 30-05-2005, 02:51:PM Don't think so, I think Capello will use him mostly behind the strikers and will give Pavel some rest. And play 14 matches per season :| bianconeri6 30-05-2005, 03:34:PM i'm sure he wont stay to do that (play 14 matches that is) but if he does mutu and hat will surely work something out maybe 4-3-3 will become the regular showing (unlikely though) i want him to stay but from what has been said since the press silence was broken about the players who have played a vital role in the season will stay Mutu seems the most likely to leave as he has not played, assisted, or scored a goal this season (eventhough he only had 30minutes to do so) Juventino 30-05-2005, 03:57:PM lol, that makes no sense. I'm sure Juve wont judge Mutu on this season.... :| We brought him for next season, not for only the last match this season. Do you know if the centre is packed? theo 30-05-2005, 05:00:PM Speaking of Mutu's period at Parma, anybody got his lightning rocket from 25m that hit the crossbar and got in? ForzaNerrazurri 30-05-2005, 05:31:PM !!!!! that means Cannavaro, Zambrotta, Blasi and Buffon could all be coming to Toronto :D mikey they are all called up for the game against Norway :| But I think Lippi will call up at LEAST 1 big name to be the captain for the younger team, like the last friendly they had against Iceland he brought Materazzi to be captain :| edit: And can anyone tell me how the **** Blasi gets called up over Cristiano Zanetti? Blasi barely plays. and C. Zanetti is in the best form of his life. theo 30-05-2005, 06:17:PM Mutu gave an interview for the romanian press and said that he will have a good attitude on the field, and off the field, speaking about the new Mutu that he is now. He also said that he is extremly happy at Juve, and he admitted that the bianconeri in Turin that sang "Mutu" when the bus was having that tour really touched it, and he wants to stay. AM also sold 5 of his 7 cars :ewan: claupastore 30-05-2005, 06:24:PM sold 5 of his 7 cars :ewan: fùck that (H) ---- and about the trophy presentation being the first one ever. well, it is the first one ever. that trophy from the 97/98 season was a copy as i understand it and it wasnt "presented", the players just took it and ran with it. :) vitu 30-05-2005, 07:38:PM Imagine Juventus not bringing DP to Japan on thier tour???...the Japanese won't even attend the games if he wasn't to go..since they all worship the "big stars" it would have sucked for them if DP wasn't to go... :D BTW I love the idea of Trezeguet staying.... (H) The guy has been injured but when he came in he tried his best and scored.. :) I dont know if Mutu will be sold or loaned..I wouldn't really care if we get a good player or a good deal out of it. Juventino 30-05-2005, 07:41:PM I think Del Piero HAD TO go... It was a part of the deal with the tour organizors. Not sure though. vitu 30-05-2005, 07:45:PM I think Del Piero HAD TO go... IceBlu 30-05-2005, 08:19:PM thank you for proving my point!! you're a dumbass!!! (:/) i wish i could defend my fellow juve fan but yeah he just proved what you were saying in the first place. Juve's attendence is a shame. Theres no point denying or covering up.Though I positive that the renovated Delle Alpi will go a long way in fixing that problem...maybe not entirely but a big fraction of it anyway... Mikey 30-05-2005, 08:24:PM Too bad Real Madrid doesnt come to Torino more often. itll improve matters only because theres less seats, so it will appear more full. Obvious, but true. A club the size of Juve should be getting at least 50,000 people per game. IceBlu 30-05-2005, 08:32:PM No. With the track gone and the stadium a lot more spectator friendly, the attendance should see an increase regardless of the capacity. The average now is something like 25-27 K... The new stadium should definitely see an average of 35,000 at the very least. So not only will the stadium appear a lot less empty due to the reduced capacity, it will translate into a much bigger weekly audience. ..or so we hope. Drvar 30-05-2005, 08:40:PM em, quick question about crowds, doesnt Napoli fill their stadium, in one of the lowest leagues? i wonder, what the **** do they do with the money? because they must be making ****loads... bianconeri6 30-05-2005, 08:51:PM @ ice true but you also need to factor in the rise in price which would lower the attendance. (i read that there was going to be a rise, correct me if i'm wrong) @ drvar yes, generally small teams fill thier stadium but their stadia are small (like the new juve stadium will be) so......... Juventino 30-05-2005, 08:52:PM Not that Napoli needs the money from their crowd... they already have De Laurentiis. :boohoo: He's an Italian movie maker... one of the richests dudes in Italy. Very ambitious with Napoli too... the Abramovich of Napoli. IceBlu 30-05-2005, 08:54:PM Except Napoli are no small club and their stadium capacity is 78,000 Their ticket prices are obviously cheaper than Serie A tickets but its still a decent amount of money. I have no clue what they do with it though. Drvar 30-05-2005, 08:57:PM yeah, thats what i meant, they have a huge stadium. but they havent went anywhere in the past year, stuck in the lowest division, right? someone is packing all the money in their backpocket :). Juventino 30-05-2005, 08:59:PM Napoli is playing in the Serie C1, not the lowest league. They'll probably get back in Serie A in a few years. SB9Dragon 30-05-2005, 09:50:PM No. With the track gone and the stadium a lot more spectator friendly, the attendance should see an increase regardless of the capacity. So not only will the stadium appear a lot less empty due to the reduced capacity, it will translate into a much bigger weekly audience. ..or so we hope. I don't get it. Why isn't the Delle Alpi packed week in/week out (or atleast close)? I would think Juve would have tons of fans flocking to see them play, but this just doesn't seem to be happening. Why? italianstyle87 30-05-2005, 10:35:PM it's a "culture" in torino where people like to watch on TV rather than freeze at the delle alpi bianconeri6 30-05-2005, 10:40:PM many theories for this one from fans that are boycotting matches as a protest against the new stadium, to the location of the delle alpi ,that it is an inconvenient location for the residents of turin in general, and the fact that it is just cheaper to watch-at-home. it's sad :kader: claupastore 30-05-2005, 10:55:PM this is stupid. every 10 pages this subject pops up out of nowhere. people, go and check the old thread if you want to know why the stadium is always so empty. djperthglory 31-05-2005, 02:02:AM i mean all us juventini really made it clear that its really bad to see an empty delle alpi stadium. i mean we must be the only domestic champion this seaason that doesnt attract a big crowd. but in all honesty how far is the ground from the city centre?? just looking at a map of torino and where the delle alpi stadium is it looks to be about 10-15 minutes to get there. i dont know why ppl would much rather watch at home. but then again if thats a culture as it has been said then fair enough. i would hate to think that ppl dont like the thought of going to the delle alpi coz its too far. i mean heck i have to drive 15-20 mins to get to a stadium which has a team from australias own type of football playing there. people come fom as far down south to watch too and our attendance is huge all the time 40000 a week. but then again here in australia its not as cold as it is in italy. i must say looking at these pics of torino it is fairly old. i mean the first italian capital city needs a revamp. ih well the best italian team will get a revamped stadium so thats orite. claupastore 31-05-2005, 02:51:AM torino is fine the way it is. :) -------- Juve su Cassano (CdS) La Juventus ha contattato la Roma per l'acquisto di Antonio Cassano, ma c'è la concorrenza del Real Madrid. Juventino 31-05-2005, 02:40:PM Chiellini will return, say Juve Tuesday 31 May, 2005 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Juventus have confirmed that Giorgio Chiellini will be recalled from his loan spell at Fiorentina in the summer. The youngster is one of the country’s most promising left-backs and he will be rewarded for a stunning season by a return to the Italian giants. "Chiellini will come back here," stated Bianconeri director Antonio Giraudo following his club’s latest Scudetto success. Juve bought Chiellini last summer from Livorno, but almost instantly sent him to Fiorentina given that he was blocked by Gianluca Zambrotta in Turin. Yet boss Fabio Capello is eager for a more competitive squad next term and Chiellini will be a part of it. The 20-year-old was a key member of the Under-21 side at the start of this term but has ended it with promotion to Marcello Lippi’s full Italy set-up. Chiellini was joined at the Stadio Artemio Franchi by Juve colleagues Enzo Maresca and Fabrizio Miccoli over the last nine months. Yet the pair will not be recalled as the Viola are expected to complete their capture after last summer’s co-ownership deals were agreed. The Tuscan club will pay around £2.5m to keep Maresca, while Miccoli will cost them around £5m. Meanwhile, whispers today suggest that Igor Tudor will return to Juventus too after he spent the last six months at Siena. But the Croatian may not remain though, with Sampdoria apparently interested in the central defender. theo 31-05-2005, 02:49:PM 500 000 fans celebrated in Turin -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 30.05: Juventus celebrated their Scudetto and Adrian Mutu's debut on Sunday. It was party time at the Stadio Delle Alpi, as Juventus were presented with the new Scudetto trophy before driving through Turin in an open-topped bus. It is believed that about 500 000 Juventus fans celebrated the Scudetto in the streets of Turin on Sunday. And the parade was a spectacular view that emotioned both the players and the fans. However, the 29th of May also represented the 20th anniversary of the Heysel tragedy in which 39 Juventus fans died. There was a special prayer service in Turin before the match. To the game, Juventus took the lead on the stroke of half-time. Alessandro Del Piero replied to the cheers of the home fans by dribbling past his marker and placing a precise angled drive into the far corner of the net with his right foot. Juventus doubled their tally in the second half. Ibrahimovic deserved much of the credit, as his solo effort was only parried into the path of David Trezeguet from six yards. Coming on from the bench Adrian Mutu was given a warm welcome on his comeback from a seven-month drugs ban and made his debut with the Juventus jersey. Later Stephen Appiah made it 3-0 with a wonderful solo effort, as he skipped past two defenders and then curled his finish in at the far post. Gianfranco Zola came on as a substitute and made an immediate difference with a consolation goal for Cagliari. Then Trezeguet completed his brace by nodding Gianluca Pessotto's cross in off the inside of the post. And before the end Zola took his career Serie A tally to 90 goals with a splendid right-foot volley in the closing stages on Massimo Gobbi's centre. bianconeri6 31-05-2005, 09:33:PM tomorrow is the first match of the japan tour (C) yesterday and today they've been training they also signed autographs for the children of the yokohama marino's football school all for the kids :rockman: so who is really interested in seeing/following the match personally i'm not much of a fan for tour games :jambo: but i do want to see how the invitees play IceBlu 31-05-2005, 09:38:PM yeah the only reason i'd want to see the game vs the japanese team is to see how Parisi plays. Why is Emerson being linked repeatedly... it bothers me. Drvar 31-05-2005, 09:46:PM he wants a better contract at juve ;). italianstyle87 31-05-2005, 10:14:PM i think he'd be on one of the top contracts at juve as it as italianstyle87 31-05-2005, 10:24:PM Juventus: Champions Ratings 5/31/2005 6:11:00 PM As the season has come to an end, we analyze and rate the Italian champions player by player. GOALKEEPERS 1. Buffon 7: The world’s number one goalkeeper was as fundamental as ever, even though he made two big mistakes against Atalanta and Inter. This year the defence was more solid and the number of shots on goal decreased, but whenever he was called in action, Gigi responded! His saves can be compared to the decisive goals scored by a striker. 12. Chimenti Antonio N/A: Hardly played this season, especially since Juventus were eliminated straight away from the Coppa Italia. Not rateable. DEFENDERS 2. Ferrara Ciro 8: This rating is for the career of a great defender who always gave his best and never disappointed. Even though he hardly featured this year, he still reached the 500th match milestone in a splendid career which rewarded him with the beauty of 8 Scudetti. A true legend! 4. Montero Paolo 6: Might not be the brilliant defender of the past but this season he proved he can be a squad player by coming in when need be. Still, he seems to have lost his touch which in previous years made him into one of Europe’s best defenders. 7. Pessotto Gianluca 6.5: Was important in the last part of the season when he had to replace the injured Zebina. Did so diligently despite his 35 years of age. 15. Birindelli Alessandro 6: Came in when Zambrotta needed a break. Not what he used to be and might be on his way out this summer. 21. Thuram Lilian 7: A wall. Proved that he can still perform at the top when played as central defender. His class and brilliance helped Juventus keep opponents at bay and the number of conceded goals at a low. 27. Zebina Jonathan 6.5: Quite a surprise. His on-field reputation of sloppy play is probably unfair. Even though he still makes one or two defensive ’Zebinate’ per game, he makes up for it with some excellent runs on the right. Still room for improvement. 28. Cannavaro Fabio 7.5: Juventus needed a solid defender to reorganize the defence and reclaim the title of best rearguard. Cannavaro needed a new environment where to prove he was not finished. A match made in heaven, or as in this case, in Turin. MIDFIELDERS 3. Tacchinardi Alessio 5.5: Another disappointing season for the veteran Juve player. Maybe his time at the club has come to an end, which would be a pity for a player who had shown so much potential in the early part of his career where at one point he was even dubbed as the new Baresi. 8. Emerson 7.5: The Brazilian midfielder was one of the main reasons behind the Scudetto win thanks to a high work-rate and dirty work in the middle of the pitch which included a staggering number of recovered balls (41). Played even when he was half fit due to injuries. 11. Nedved Pavel 7: The Czech star proved his critics wrong and showed everyone that he still has what it takes to perform exceptionally. Despite missing many games through various injuries, Nedved still managed to score 7 goals (in particular the one against Lazio) to help the Bianconeri win their 28th league title. 16. Camoranesi Mauro German 7.5: In previous years his main problem was consistency. This year, maybe even thanks to Capello, the right winger played consistently well throughout the whole season, and topping Juventus’ list with 9 assists. Probably the most creative player of the whole Bianconeri’s midfielder. Fundamental. 18. Appiah Stephen 6.5: Started out as a reserve of Blasi and was given a chance midway through the season in which he failed and was left on the side for most of the year. He was given another chance towards the end and this time he did not disappoint as he performed well and even scored a stunner against Cagliari. 19. Zambrotta Gianluca 7: If an award had to be given to the player who ran most kilometres during the whole season, then the Italian international would definitely take the first spot. Very consistent especially in the first part of the season. Always present and never disappointed his fans. 20. Blasi Manuele 6: Started very well but faded away with the passing of the months. He definitely has the potential to be another Gattuso, but he still needs to improve, especially on his technical aspect. 23. Kapo Obou Narcisse Olivier N/A: Never really clicked as he was closed by other players and when his time came, he suffered a muscle injury which kept him away from the pitches for weeks. He will probably leave this summer. 24. Olivera 6.5: Very inconsistent. He would perform well and even score decisive goals, then just vanish in some other important games (for example against Liverpool). Next year will be his hit or miss season. FORWARDS 9. Ibrahimovic Zlatan 7.5: What a surprise and what a debut! No one expected so much from the Swede forward in his first season with Juventus, yet he defied all critics and even scored a record number of goals. He still has ample room for improvement and once he does, the Golden Ball will become something of a reality. Phenomenal! 10. Del Piero Alessandro 7: It’s difficult to judge Del Piero and the last few matches of the season have made it even harder. In fact prior to those games, he would have obtained a 6.5 rating at most due to his very inconsistent performances, but he earned an extra 0.5 for proving to be important in the most crucial moment of the season, something which he had not done for a long time. Resurgent. 17. Trezeguet David 7: Marred by injuries yet he still scored 9 goals (most of which decisive) from 18 matches. Transfer speculation indicates he might be on his way out, but unless Juventus substitute him with Gilardino, there will not be a better striker out there on the market. Goal scoring machine. 25. Zalayeta Marcelo 6.5: Super-sub might be the best way to define Zalayeta who always performs greatly when he comes in from the bench rather than when he starts from the beginning. Great team player who you can always rely on. 30. Mutu Adrian N/A: His career restarted in the last matchday. Now he can look forward to a brighter future with the Bianconeri’s shirt after passing months in hell. COACH Capello Fabio 8: The real architect behind this Scudetto. With a team considered inferior in every department (especially bench wise) to Milan and Inter, Don Fabio pulled out his magic wand and created a solid and winning team. Sir Alex Ferguson is scouring the market for a goalkeeper after allowing Roy Carroll to leave on a Bosman at the end of the season. Reports claim the Scot was pondering a £35 million bid for Buffon, who is regarded as arguably the best goalkeeper in the world. However, Silvano Martina is not putting much stock in reports linking his client with a switch to Old Trafford, insisting Real Madrid is the only club the goalkeeper would consider joining should Juventus decide to sell. "It's true Juventus have a habit of selling their top players when a proper offer comes in," he told skysports website. "But I don't think they plan to sell Buffon, at least not for now. "Anyway, in these situations a crucial role is played by the will of the player and Gigi is fully committed to Juventus, as the Bianconeri are one of the best three clubs in the world." Martina added: "Should Buffon one day decide to quit Juventus, that would be only for Real Madrid," Martina explained. "That's why I don't think reports about Manchester United will come to anything real." Juventino 01-06-2005, 10:51:AM Juventus make Cassano bid Wednesday 1 June, 2005 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Juventus have reportedly made Roma an initial player plus cash offer in their bid to sign Antonio Cassano. Director general Luciano Moggi is understood to have met with Giallorossi chief operating officer Rosella Sensi on Tuesday to start talks. The Bianconeri are ready to hand over Adrian Mutu and £9m for the Italian international forward. Moggi made contact at the request of Fabio Capello, who bossed the youngster during his time in the Italian capital. Juve are also keen to wrap up the deal as soon as possible given that Inter and Real Madrid are also interested in the former Bari starlet. The Stadio Olimpico side will now have to decide what to do with Cassano as his contract expires in 2006. The club have already extended the contracts of Vincenzo Montella and Francesco Totti but an agreement with Cassano may be difficult. The cost of keeping the 23-year-old would be high and it may make more sense to cash in on him, especially as they will now be paying Totti £7.5m-a-season. It was believed that Juve would offer cash and Shabani Nonda to the Giallorossi but that now looks unlikely. Reports in Italy today suggest that Nonda has failed a medical and therefore will not complete a summer move to Juve from Monaco. Bayern Munich stopper Robert Kovac has passed his medical and he is set to be confirmed as a Juve player very soon. Meanwhile, Olivier Kapo could be heading back to France. The winger has failed to settle in Turin since his move from Auxerre and Monaco are keen on his services. theo 01-06-2005, 11:38:AM Heres how i'd rate the players Appiah - 6.5 Blasi - 7 If Blasi has 7, then Appiah would have 8. The Juventus captain struck just before halftime to secure victory for the Turin giants in the first of two close season games in Japan. A minor earthquake rocked the stadium late in the game but there were no injuries and no reports of damage. The visitors, who won their 28th Serie A title 12 days ago, take on FC Tokyo on Tuesday. Pavel Nedved looked lively from the start against J-League champions Yokohama and shaved the crossbar with a right-foot drive after just two minutes. The Czech playmaker then brought a sharp stop from Yokohama goalkeeper Tatsuya Enomoto in the 18th minute following a clever touch from striker David Trezeguet. Trezeguet himself went close soon afterwards and the France striker squandered another gilt-edged chance when put through by Nedved in the 41st minute. But Del Piero finally forced the breakthrough two minutes before halftime, stabbing home from close range after a Gianluca Pessotto cross caused panic in Yokohama's defence. Tempers flared after the break when Yokohama's Brazilian wing back Dutra lunged in on Nedved, provoking a furious reaction from the Juventus players. Dutra and Juventus defender Alessandro Birindelli were quickly pulled apart. Fists flew and Dutra was lucky to escape with only a yellow card. 'It was a hard game with some hard tackles,' said Juventus coach Fabio Capello. 'We didn't want to lose. We dominated the first half and overall it was a good start to the trip.' Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Champions League winners Liverpool are among several top European clubs playing close season games in Japan in the coming weeks. The Nerazzurri have joined the Italian champions in the race for the youngster who looks set to leave Roma. Reports yesterday suggested that the Milan giants were keen admirers but Cannavaro believes his club are in pole position for the talent. "I can’t say too much otherwise (director general) Luciano Moggi will fine me," smiled the Azzurri captain. "All that I will say is that I don’t think he will join Inter, who already have Adriano, Obafemi Martins and many more. "He would face stiff competition for a place at Juventus too, even if there will always be room for a player like him in a team." Meanwhile, Messina say they are ready to sell Alessandro Parisi to Juventus during the summer. "Alessandro has been here with us for two years in which he has demonstrated that he has enough quality for Juventus," said owner Pietro Franza. We want to be competitive and to follow Liverpool as winners of the Champions’ League.” Capello has won the trophy with Milan in 1994, beating Barcelona 4-0, but wants to add another precious element to his CV after taking seven League titles with four different clubs. 5,000 fans attended the Bianconeri’s training session in Hong Kong, where they will play Kitchee later this morning (UK time). Alessandro Del Piero is still considered to be a hero in the Far East and took the opportunity to calm the Press storm between captain and Coach. “My rapport with Capello is perfect,” said the Italian international. “This is my first time in Hong Kong and I don’t want to disappoint the fans. I scored a decisive goal in our last friendly in Tokyo, but I won’t rest on my laurels and wish to score here as well.” ---------- Gooooo Capello e Del Piero! It’s a shame Kitchee scored with their only two shots on goal, but that is football.” Over 12,000 fans attended the Grand Promenade Cup tie in Hong Kong, where Juve were winning 2-0 at half-time. Alessandro Del Piero was again the star of the show, opening the scoring with a delightful solo effort before setting up Nedved for the second. After the break, Kitchee got back on level terms with a Gumbs double and the local side eventually won 7-5 on penalties. “I had real fun and it was wonderful to play in Hong Kong,” said Del Piero on the official Juventus website. “The local fans are very warm and passionate, just as they were in Japan. I think that we should’ve won, but the most important thing today was entertaining the supporters.” Considering his warm reception and impressive performances during this summer tour of the Far East, Del Piero may well reconsider reports of an offer from Japanese club Yokohama Marinos. Cassano? Samuel (for the Emerson)? Anywayz I hope that Cassano DOESN'T listen to Cannavaro and that he joins Inter instead of Juve (as alwayz with any player). He'd actually have a better chance playing here then playing with you guys. He could play as a LW (ala Nedeved ala How he did in the Euros) and switch to the middle like a playmaker and then really do some damage with Adriano and Martins in front of him. But at Juve with Nedved there, where could he possibly fit in? With DP, Trezeguet, and Zlatan already fighting for the top 2 spots I can't really imagine him starting upfront. BTW quick question, what lineup did you guys use mainly this season? Who plays on the right of the midfield? With GolTV I stopped watching every single Serie A game that had been available to me b4 (1 match per week) and I focused on Inter, so I have no clue about your lineups. italianstyle87 05-06-2005, 12:29:AM 4-4-2 camoranesi at RM bianconeri6 05-06-2005, 12:41:AM honestly, it is my belief that we really don't need cassano(if you disagree then your simply wrong) and i also believe that it would be better for the italian league if cassano stayed at roma choosing to have cassano at juve/milan/inter rather than keeping the competitive nature of italian calcio kinda seems like choosing your football team over worldfootball(not literally, metaphorically) .... it simply don't make sense look at scotland for example, of course they don't have the talent that italy does coming from the poor teams, but money does rules the world. let's keep the calcio competitive of course you have your right to disagree but i think that i raised a good point there :jambo: djperthglory 05-06-2005, 02:59:AM hey guys i want to simply say that juve are the best team in the world. i mean we go on seeing the flags with hearts at the artemio franchi in florence. but for a team that can do that (the new theme) is amazing!!! i mean u tell me which other champs are singing and doing stuff with the society!!! Maybe iv'e been unlucky seeing some games he for once played crap, but is he THAT good as everyone want's him to be? italianstyle87 05-06-2005, 12:42:PM watch his games at euro and plenty of games for roma when he's in the game when he is switched on he goes alright nird 05-06-2005, 12:48:PM let's hope that. well, if he is to play for the italian champions he should show more spirit and enthusiasm then he has done lately... theo 05-06-2005, 01:04:PM I really don't want Cassano at Juve I mean, WTF? We have Trez, Ibra, DP, Mutu & Zalayeta. Do you think that if we bring Cassano, at least 2 of our strikers won't get pass 5 games? Rocky 05-06-2005, 01:16:PM give roma Mutu plus cash=Cassano, either way, im happy with Mutu or Cassano nird 05-06-2005, 01:29:PM if we bring cassano at least one striker needs to be sold or loaned out...6 strikers and zlatan guaranteed one of the two spots, I feel sorry for those who have to fight for the last. bianconeri6 05-06-2005, 05:11:PM fellas, just believe in moggi he is no fool we will be a better team for next season if he has any to say about it that is for sure is it true that moggi's son is the sporting director of roma?? jumbo 05-06-2005, 05:20:PM we don't have to be a better team next year. we're the championships. we just have to play like we have this year. ;) mark77 05-06-2005, 06:04:PM Juve bring back Chiellini Sunday 5 June, 2005 Bianconeri transfer guru Luciano Moggi has confirmed that Fiorentina’s Giorgio Chiellini will return to Turin this summer. “We will undoubtedly buy up the other 50 per cent of Chiellini’s contract,” said the director general. “Fiorentina already know the situation and there will be no problem.” The defender was signed by Juventus from Livorno at the end of last season, but immediately handed over to the Viola in a co-ownership deal. The youngster has impressed at the Stadio Artemio Franchi and earned a place in Marcello Lippi’s Italy squad. Scudetto winners Juve are already planning for the next term and have confirmed the arrival of Bayern Munich defender Robert Kovac and Lazio midfielder Giuliano Giannichedda on free transfers. It has also been reported that they are in advanced negotiations for Lecce winger Marco Cassetti – something Moggi has denied. “Cassetti is a very interesting young player and had a great campaign, but we don’t need him,” Moggi told the Gazzetta dello Sport. mark77 05-06-2005, 06:36:PM Zlatan vs Malta (Y) HERE (http://www.zlatan-online.nl/video's/zlatanonlinevideos/zlatan_sweden_malta_actions.wmv) theo 05-06-2005, 07:03:PM That's wonderful BTW, mark how do you get rid of the display name? Juventino 05-06-2005, 08:08:PM Just dont fill one in? mark77 05-06-2005, 08:08:PM space bar nird 05-06-2005, 09:48:PM mark77, transfer guru, suits you perfectly ;) how, or when can you change whats written over the soccerballs? Ubik Valis 05-06-2005, 09:51:PM It can't be changed. nird 05-06-2005, 09:58:PM really?so yours and marks are just some of the random ones that just pops up after a while then? something deep inside is telling me that I shouldn't pay attention to what you're saying... bianconeri6 05-06-2005, 10:01:PM i think that the mods edit them they cannot unless (like dragan) youre a mod yourself. bianconeri6 05-06-2005, 10:06:PM nice to hear that chiellini, giannichedda and kovac are all but official, numbered and squad listed :rockman: and how old is cassetti some genuine youth would definitely be welcome into the team :) mark77 05-06-2005, 10:30:PM Cassetti is 28 and Moggi said we don't need him. haha I guess he bought Miguel or Maicon instead. (H) @nird, you need to be a special person to get a personal "over the soccer balls title" :p bianconeri6 05-06-2005, 10:46:PM Juve bring back Chiellini Sunday 5 June, 2005 It has also been reported that they are in advanced negotiations for Lecce winger Marco Cassetti – something Moggi has denied. “Cassetti is a very interesting young player and had a great campaign, but we don’t need him,” Moggi told the Gazzetta dello Sport. 28?? since when is 28 young?? sumthing must be wrong italianstyle87 05-06-2005, 11:05:PM if we bring cassano at least one striker needs to be sold or loaned out...6 strikers and zlatan guaranteed one of the two spots, I feel sorry for those who have to fight for the last. zlatan isn't auto-given one spot, when all the big strikers are fit it goes on rotation though admitidly zlatan is preferred when it matters djperthglory 06-06-2005, 02:21:AM guys its great to see our non italian players doing well for their countries. appiah scored and ibra scored over the weekend. there are more qualifiers in the next couple days and we should see our players on the field again. i think so far to get chiellini back is the most important step. i mean yeah for sure getting 2 players on free transfers is great and it adds depth. but we have a problem at the back. i mean if one of the backs cant play we dont have suitable back-ups/ i ws just wondering if juve are to continue with the 4-4-2 formation do you guys see zambrotta moving into the midfield to make way for chiellini. i mean effectively it is 5 backs fighting for 4 spots but 1 can play midfield too!?!? bianconeri6 06-06-2005, 02:37:AM yea i do still see the 4-4-2 lineup as of the transfers made so far this is who i see in the lineup i theink that zambrotta will go onto the right and chiellini on the left i think giannichedda or blasi could take the starting spot in the current team (giannichedda being more versatile and experienced will,IMO,get the starting spot) but seeing as we are supposed to get a world-class cm he will get the starting position and giannichedda and blasi will be his replacements. here is my suggested team as of now: buffon zambrotta----cannavaro--thuram----chiellini camoranesi----giannichedda--emerson----nedved and the two on-form forwards djperthglory 06-06-2005, 02:54:AM so b6 ur bench will be: chimenti (gk) zebina blasi appiah kapo (2 strikers that dont get first pick) and then you got the older players: montero pessotto birindelli tacchinardi thats a lot of depth but i dont know about zebina on the bench. hey guys i was just wondering was there a serie a best 11 ever released by any newspaper for this season? claupastore 06-06-2005, 04:52:AM zalayeta didnt do too good against venezuela lastnite, he missed a freakin easy goal with an open net :| (thank god) olivera did ok, great crosses and the usual stuff. montero was good, but its not like our forwards could cause such a threat to him :p (altough our goal scored by maldonado was S-U-P-E-R-B!) italianstyle87 06-06-2005, 05:04:AM the idea of switching zambrotta over to RB is good in principle but i don't know whether it's worth it zambrotta and nedved have a great understanding, zambrotta kicks ass on the left i'm happy for giorgio to spend time on the bench if zambrotta isn't as effective at RB djperthglory 06-06-2005, 05:27:AM wtf ur not serious clau!! zalagol misses with an open net!! ar well he knew he couldnt do that to a juve fan. after all juve pay his wages!! :P |
