PROFILE

Juventus Football Club S.p.A. is one of the prominent professional football clubs internationally, boasting approximately 21 million supporters in Europe and some 10 million supporters, almost one-third of all football fans, in Italy.

Juventus' entire winning track-record is the richest among all Italian football clubs, with 28 Italian Championships, 9 Italian Cups and 4 Italian Super Cups domestically, and a number of international trophies, i.e. 2 Champions Leagues, 2 Intercontinental Cups, 2 European Super Cups, 3 UEFA Cups, and 1 Cup Winners' Cup.

Sporting achievements have greatly contributed to the Company’s reputation and prestige and Juventus' very name elicits perceptions of success, professionalism and tradition. The Company has successfully supplemented its core competitive sporting activities with a comprehensive effort to exploit its corporate name, which has become one of the world's best known and most popular brands, achieving significant economic results.

Juventus has become a "media company", well equipped to become part of the broader entertainment industry in ways consistent with its development strategy, and to take any opportunities for growth that will arise from its changing into a "entertainment and leisure group".

Excellent sports results and increasing profitability and shareholders value are the mission of Juventus Football Club S.p.A..

Juventus Football Club S.p.A. has always been a leading player in social solidarity projects. This active commitment can be seen in ongoing projects and charity initiatives. A commitment that drives new ideas and projects sparked by collaboration with those who work in the sector and by the enthusiasm of fans, sport lovers and, especially, young people.

For the third year running, Juventus Football Club S.p.A. was awarded the solidarity cup, “Scudetto della Solidarietà” by the weekly VITA non-profit magazine for the club that stands out most for its community plans, generosity and structured projects. VITA drew up a table of 18 teams on the basis of initiatives by the clubs, players and, as of this year, also their fans.

Solidarity and integration are the common elements in the projects launched in recent years. In particular:

* “Fatti e Progetti per i Giovani”, a wide-ranging programme aimed at improving the living conditions and education of many young people. Two goals are pursued:

> solidarity. Alongside the Don Bosco Missions, Juventus Football Club S.p.A. has contributed to creating a Residential Centre for immigrant children from outside the EU. In the centre, which has also become a meeting point for young people from Turin, about 100 volunteers are involved in training, voluntary work, and preventing children from dropping out of school;

> training and education. In collaboration with the Faculty of Economics of the University of Turin, Juventus Football Club S.p.A. has established a training course to attract young people to study sports management, combining the skills of teachers and professionals in the field and encouraging research into the management of sports organisations. 10 scholarships have been created in memory of Giovanni Alberto Agnelli.
This collaboration has led to the creation of the degree course in Sports Management, with the best specialists in the field participating in courses and seminars.

* The “Residential Centre” named after Edoardo Agnelli, in collaboration with the Associazione Gruppi di Volontariato Vincenziano, created to give a home to mothers in distress.

* Aid and support over many years for the work of the “Fondazione Piemontese per la Ricerca sul Cancro”, through the funding of a private transport service that links the city of Turin directly with the Cancer Research and Care Institute in Candiolo.

The 2003/2004 financial year saw the launch of the “Crescere insieme al Sant’Anna” project to raise the funds needed to restructure the maternity ward of the Sant’Anna Hospital of Turin to provide a more welcoming environment, familiarity with care procedures and psychological and physical well-being, both for those who use the service, i.e. the babies and their families, and for those who work there every day.

Capello unveils new Juventus Friday 27 May, 2005

Juventus boss Fabio Capello has revealed his club’s summer transfer plans and objectives for the new season.

The tactician confirmed that the outfit would be looking to buy quality players in the hope of mounting a serious Champions’ League challenge next term.

"We already have some clear ideas," he told the Tuttosport newspaper. "Bringing back the European Cup to Turin is our principal objective for next season.

"We are looking for players who can make a 10 percent difference to the side rather than just two percent. Seeing as we are not starting from the bottom, this will be very difficult to do.

"I’ve asked the club for a rich squad even if we know that the money box is closed and we can’t violate the books. We’ll do our very best."

Juventus have been linked with Roma’s Antonio Cassano and Alberto Gilardino of Parma, but their arrival would seemingly only occur if the club sold first.

One man who has been linked with a ‘sacrifice’ is Real Madrid target Emerson, even if Capello has rubbished that claim.

"He is not going to leave," added the former Roma boss. "He is one of the best midfield players in the world in my opinion, if not the best."

Capello led Juve to the title at his first attempt but he has been criticised this term over his continual substitution of Alessandro Del Piero.

"Alex’s conduct was extraordinary, as a captain and a professional," noted the Coach.

"I said that he would one day thank me and he returned to the champion he is in the closing stages of the season.

"He is an important player and I don’t enjoy substituting anyone. I just do my job, the one which I am paid for."

Juventus have undoubtedly been solid this season, rather than entertaining, and Capello expects that not to change in the 2005-06 campaign.

"Winning gets people talking and remains in the record books. Entertaining play is forgotten and only relative," he defended.

The master tactician concluded by commenting on Milan’s extraordinary collapse to Liverpool in the Champions’ League Final.

"I thought it would be all downhill for the Rossoneri after Paolo Maldini’s goal," he said. "The blackout in the second half was incredible, even if luck wasn’t on Milan’s side either."
----------------------------------------------------------
anyway, looks like atleast one great player is comin to Juventus. But this can mean that some will be leaving ( Zambrotta is most likely), i hope i am wrong

Juventino
27-05-2005, 03:32:PM
Zambrotta most likely? Errr... I dont think so. Capello said he wants to get better. Why would we sell Zambrotta then? He's one of our best players.

Don't know if they were posted before, but...

Ibrahimovic: “We’re strong!”

http://www.juventus.com/Allegati/f_Ibrahimovic1031150b5a52334-9f6c-4ad3-af35-2eb7feb8f23.jpg

Sixteen goals in the championship on his debut year in Italy. Few other players are equal, among whom Michel Platini. A reason to be proud for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who’s left his mark on his first season in black & white to conquer their 28th Scudetto.

“I’m very happy, the title gave everyone great joy and particularly to those who like me, Cannavaro and others, had never won one. I’m personally satisfied and I want to thank the team who helped me achieve such a result and I hope I’ll be able to do better”. He thanks Capello, too: “ It’s his merit, too, if this year I scored more than the past (13 goals in the championship was his record with Ajax).

He trained me teaching me how to focus on goal and results have come.” In a joyful atmosphere due to the 28th Scudetto, Zlatan is already aiming at next season’s targets: “Just consider that this year there were new-comers like me, in their first season together. Next year we’ll get on even better on the pitch and I can yet say in Europe too. I was very disappointed to get out of Champions League, we want to win it”.

Buffon: “My best scudetto”

http://www.juventus.com/Allegati/f_Buffon1027380b5a52334-9f6c-4ad3-af35-2eb7feb8f23.jpg

“This is the scudetto that satisfied me most because it was assigned by the match at San Siro which, four days before the end of the championship, looked like a real final. Winning that match, away, was incredibly exciting and it was the best possible ending.”

Certainly, it was not Gigi Buffon’s first important win in his career but this Scudetto tastes special and not only because of the result of the match against Milan: “For the season as a whole – he continues – I think that probably the most important win was at the Olimpico against Lazio as it gave us a boost in the most critical moment. It has been a great championship: we’ve had more than an occasion to wrap it up but we’ve always been caught up with. Nevertheless we’ve never given up and winning this way has given us even more satisfaction.”

It’s been the group’s win, but should Gigi Buffon reward anyone with a medal for this triumph he wouldn’t have any doubt: “Should I name someone I’d say Ibrahimovic, for the positive impact he’s had on the team and how he fitted well to our championship, Del Piero for the class he’s shown also off the pitch, let alone how he’s played, Trezeguet, because in spite of his injuries he’s always been there and then Cannavaro, who has played an outstanding season. Actually, everyone has been fundamental because all of us, from the coach to myself, aimed at the same target, going all the same direction”.

I hope Ibra will be playing at Juve until the end of his career, though it's hard to tell.

quite a shock to me what he said as he has been so quiet throughout the season
-------------------------------------
Del Piero: Why thank Capello?
Friday 27 May, 2005
Juventus have won Lo Scudetto but tension remains between Alex Del Piero and boss Fabio Capello.

The two men have had a difficult relationship this term given that the tactician has often substituted the No 10.

Capello defended his actions during the campaign by claiming that Alex "would thank him" at the end of the season.

But Del Piero, who had remained relatively silent until today, has hit back at the former Milan and Roma boss.

"Why should I thank him? I thank Capello as I have thanked everyone at the club for the Scudetto," he stated on Friday afternoon.

"He has his merits but so do all of the other members of the club. I don’t think I have to single out the Coach for special praise.

"I have nothing to sort out with him though. We are both great professionals and winners, people who are intelligent."

The captain’s ‘problems’ with Capello did lead to reports that Alex could leave the outfit at the end of the season.

Del Piero today insisted that he wants to remain but only if he is given a star role to play.

"I’ve never thought about leaving and I still feel like a symbol," he added. "I want to stay but I want to be a protagonist. If that doesn’t happen then I’ll look around me."

Del Piero is desperate to feature regularly as he is still thinking about winning honours with the national side.

"I don’t feel excluded from the Azzurri squad," he added. "I’ve spoken with Marcello Lippi, we’ll just have to look at my form.

"Would being dropped upset me? I wouldn’t be offended but if I was left out while I was playing well then I would be saddened."

Nonda - Juve would be great
by Patrick Haond - created on 27 May 2005

Shabani Nonda is targeting a move to Juventus with rumours rife that a deal has already been done.

Rangers pulled out of the hunt for the Monaco striker this week and a Bosman move to Serie A beckons for the Congo attacker.

Although Juve are tipped to tie Nonda to a four-year contract, the African ace could be loaned out on his arrival in Turin.

"Now is the time to say goodbye," the 28-year-old told But. "And discover something else, in a new league, where I could play against better players.

"My priority is to play, wherever it will be.

"I will name my future destination next week.

"People talk about Juventus. Maybe. But I am also attracted by Spain.

"If it is Juventus, that will be great.

"If not, it will be somewhere else, and it won't be the end of the world."

Mutu torna in campo!

Mutu ready for Juve debut
Saturday 28 May, 2005
Adrian Mutu’s ban has expired and he is raring to make his Juve debut this Sunday – insisting it’ll be the first of many appearances for the club.

“I am very nervous and excited about returning to the playing field and I’ll do it on a day where Juventus celebrate their Scudetto,” said the Romanian. “It’s great to see my teammates mark this achievement, though obviously I don’t feel it is my trophy.”

Mutu joined on a free transfer in January, though his position was put in doubt following Chelsea’s legal action. His ban for failing a drugs test expired on May 24 and he’ll be available for selection in tomorrow’s match with Cagliari at the Stadio Delle Alpi.

“I have emerged from the tunnel of drug use and can see the light now,” continued the former Parma and Verona man. “I must thank everyone for giving me such a warm welcome since my first day.”

“I want to score lots of goals now and become an important part of this team. I am not concerned by the competition for places, as I am convinced that I can make a difference and wish to repay Juve for their faith in me.”

There have been reports ever since his arrival that this was only a temporary position, as Mutu could be used as bait to prise Antonio Cassano away from Roma.

“I don’t want to be a pawn in another transfer deal. I am ready to earn my place and achieve important objectives right here in Turin.”

Meanwhile, Shabani Nonda has confirmed Press speculation in both Italy and France that his future is at the Delle Alpi.

“It is time to try a new experience and test myself against the very best,” said the 28-year-old whose contract with Monaco is up. “I have offers from Spain as well, but if I should end up at Juventus then it would be fantastic.”

Del Piero Issues Ultimatum To Juve
5/27/2005 6:45:00 PM
The forward threatened his club that if he is not guaranteed more playing time next season, he will leave the Bianconeri this summer.
The celebrations are over in the Juventus camp as Alessandro Del Piero, surprisingly enough, stirred things up by launching an ultimatum to the Old Lady: either he plays more next season or else he will look elsewhere.

“I still feel a symbol. I signed to remain and end my career with Juventus, but I want to play as a protagonist. If I find out that I cannot do so, I can even take into consideration the option of leaving. I don’t know if I would be ready to face another season like this.”

When asked if he would thank Fabio Capello for his recent performances, Del Piero replied angrily.

“And why should I? Just tell me why I should thank him. I thank Capello just like I thank everyone for this victory: from the team mates to the club. He has his merits just like we all have our own merits in this Scudetto. I don’t think that there is the need to thank the coach particularly. He has the merits just like we all do.”

Pinturicchio has played for the past 12 seasons with Juventus, winning 6 Scudetti and a Champions League amongst other trophies.

If the ****ty Brazilian and Argentinian FA don't work together with us we are going to be in a really bad predicament. Brazil wants Adriano for the Confederations Cup, as does Argentina want J. Zanetti, Cambiasso, Kily Gonzalez, all of them which are first team players. We could be without all of them if something doesn't happen quickly :(

Try telling that to Alberto Parreira, the man who called up Adriano. For crying out loud he had Adriano last year who almost single handedly won them the Coppa America. Give the poor man some rest, he's been overworked enough as it is

It's not even about the diving, it's about the referee's. Some of those clips in the video were so bad you can't even imagine how the referees made it to where they are in the first place, and who is behind all these questionable calls.... And I'm not just talking about Juve.

I didn't watch the vid but it's clear the focus is always on Juve and you never hear or see what happens in other games with teams of less quality than Juve. Just look at Lazio/Fiorentina. They talked about it because the relegation is on line.

hey look where im from. i was born in one of the most sporting countries in the world. a country where u learn what sportsmanship is about!!! i mean its sad i love aussie teams, they do well. but its hard to find a macedonian do well at something. thats why ended up looking at italian soccer. first match i ever watched juve vs sampdoria. i went for the whiteandblack and since then ive loved learning about italy and my team from torino, juventus.

i think mutu will play between a half and 20mins

there are 4 strikers who deserve to play more than him

correction, 3 strikers.
zalayeta is coming here to play against Venezuela.
and capello might play the trident, thus making it almost a sure thing that mutu will play.
and why doesnt he deserve to play? im sure he has been giving his best at the tranning sesions. after all, he is part of the team.

italianstyle87
28-05-2005, 09:03:AM
there is still 4 who deserve to play more than him, whether zala is there or not

i think mutu will be good, but his time is next year

the players who won juve lo scudetto deserve to play in front of the home fans

not a player who has trained well, like everyone else

having said that, he'll get his chance, but it shouldn't be more than a half

Serie A set for exciting climax

http://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Photo/footballcentral/FootballCentral/305320_MEDIUMLANDSCAPE.jpg

Juventus FC celebrate their 28th Scudetto against Cagliari Calcio on Sunday, playing in front of their fans for the first time since being crowned champions.

Buffon joy
"This was my favourite Scudetto because it was decided against Milan in a game that was almost like a cup final," said Bianconeri goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon. "Winning at the San Siro was very emotional, the best possible way to do it."

Outstanding issues
The last day of the Serie A season will also decide which team joins Juventus, AC Milan and FC Internazionale Milano in the 2005/06 UEFA Champions League and which two will follow Atalanta BC into Serie B.

Opportunity knocks
After losing the Scudetto, Milan also lost the UEFA Champions League final against Liverpool FC. On Sunday they visit Udinese Calcio, who are currently fourth, one point above UC Sampdoria. Victory against the Rossoneri will give Luciano Spalletti's side the chance to play in the Champions League for the first time.

Spalletti dream
Udinese are still without Morgan De Sanctis and Marek Jankulovski due to injury. "I'm sure Milan will be very difficult to beat even if they've nothing to play for," Spalletti said. "We're very close to realising our dream and we'll do all we can to achieve it."

Sampdoria pursuit
Meanwhile, Sampdoria travel to Bologna FC knowing a win may not be enough to qualify for the Champions League. "We're going to Bologna to win and hope Milan will recover from Istanbul and put on a great performance against Udinese," said Sampdoria forward Francesco Flachi.

Bologna in danger
Bologna have not won in ten league games and defeat against Sampdoria could spell relegation for Carlo Mazzone's men, who are fifth from bottom and could be overtaken by AC Siena, who host Atalanta, and ACF Fiorentina, who welcome fellow strugglers Brescia Calcio (level on points with Bologna).

Double jeopardy
The match in Florence is arguably the most highly charged of the last day with both sides battling against the drop. Fiorentina will be down if they fail to win, while Brescia will almost certainly go the same way if they lose. It is no surprise Pierluigi Collina has been appointed to referee the game which may be his last in Serie A.

Still not safe
AC Chievo Verona and Parma FC could both need victories and visit AS Roma and US Lecce respectively. Reggina Calcio, who make the trip to Inter, and S.S. Lazio, who are at US Città di Palermo, may also have to draw to be sure of safety.

Juventino
28-05-2005, 12:04:PM
I think it's because one of Del Piero and Miccoli had to leave when we bought Zlatan... we of course picked Del Piero over Miccoli. I think that's the reason Miccoli is pissed off at us, because he thinks we didnt treat him well. :ewan: F*ck him. (H)

italianstyle87
28-05-2005, 12:34:PM
i think it had to do with the fact that while the internationals were recovering after euro, he was the face of juve

the leader in most practise games etc, it was seen that he'd have a big role to play at juve

then zlatan came, and he sees himself as better than DP, and felt really wronged when he got shown the door and the FAVOURITE SON OF JUVENTUS got to stay

Capello silences angry Alex
Saturday 28 May, 2005
The tension is rising in Turin as Fabio Capello responded to Alessandro Del Piero’s insistence he had nothing to thank the Coach for, while rumours link the player to Arsenal.

“The results prove me right,” smiled the Juventus boss as he prepared for Sunday’s Scudetto celebrations. “One less ‘thank you’ I receive won’t make much difference considering the many people who have shown me gratitude for this year.”

The relationship between Capello and the captain has been poor throughout the campaign, particularly with Del Piero substituted a remarkable 26 times and usually the first to be pushed aside for tactical requirements.

Yesterday afternoon Del Piero hit out at his Coach and assured during his Press Conference that he did not need to thank Capello for the title success. The Italian international also warned that he would reconsider his future if he was not given guarantees of more first team football.

“A club like Juventus cannot give guarantees to a player, as those who go on to the field do so because they have earned it,” snapped Capello in response. “If Del Piero asks for guarantees, then what are the others supposed to say?”

Their relationship is now hanging by a thread and it’s increasingly likely that Alex will move on in the summer. He is not short on offers and could bring in precious resources to the club coffers.

The Japanese J-League has been following the situation for several seasons now, in particular Yokohama Marinos, but there is a new rumour of interest from Arsenal. The main problem is represented by his £7m per season wages, but he would be willing to take a pay-cut at this stage of his career.

Meanwhile, Juventus will be presented with the Scudetto trophy during Sunday’s match with Cagliari and then travel through the streets of Turin in an open-top bus.

Juventino
28-05-2005, 04:30:PM
Ah well, Capello is right. Every player deserves the same treatment. Still, Del Piero is Del Piero... the symbol of Juve. Little extra respect for him wouldnt hurt the others... It would break my heart seeing Del Piero leave Juventus. :(

bianconeri6
28-05-2005, 05:43:PM
yea i believe that he does deserve more than what capello offers.
but he capello is capello and he has his trophies to back him up so i guess if DP still wants to wear the bianconeri he will simply have to deal with it and rise to the level that capello needs of a starter and a mainstay.
i suppose if he plays outstandingly with consistency then capello will have no choice
IMO what he is lacking from this season is the consistency.
i kinda like the way capello is and it has seemed to make del piero fight more and play better.
i hope that the quotes were simply interpreted badly and that dp stays on for the next term. I hope:(.

moggi77 how many years are left in DP's contract??

Yes his contract runs out in 2008.

Firstly.... if i had to choose between Capello staying or Del Piero staying, it's easy - Capello of course. Anyone with half a brain would agree.

Next I would like to see Del Piero leave to be honest. Del Piero's wages are too high and he isn't the jersey seller he once was and neither is he the player he once was. A few flash in the pan performances, an injury, a few more performances... another injury.. I think i've had enough. Enough with the "Symbol OF Juve" nonsense. What he symbolizes is a career plagued with inconsistency and underachieving. I'm not willing to put up with a hundred useless performances for one moment of brilliance; which seems to be the trend. Heres what happens every season - He plays like CRAP. Slowly starts getting subbed. Gets injured. Comes back after a couple of months. Expects to start right away. Doesn't happen. Gets his panties in a twist. Starts one game. Plays exceptionally well. Thinks hes answered the critics. Plays the next game like crap again, ruins the rhythm formed by the players in his absence and makes us wish he was injured.

Enough.

Even if we don't get Cassano, we still have Mutu. Both are better than Del Piero.

(and yes i know.. i have a DP siggie)

If anything, Capello has given Del Piero special treatment this season. Any other player who performed as mediocre as Del Piero would not be consistently given chance after chance. When given chances, Zalayeta has played much better than DP this season, but once somebody needs to be dropped, its Zalayeta over Del Piero. And last season, Di Vaio was playing amazing at one point, than Del Piero comes back from another injury and instantly and inconceivably Di Vaio is dropped to the bench. No logic.

And im not even gonna go into detail of how embarassing it is that he makes $7M a year.

Unless he somehow plays brilliantly and consistently next season, i dont want to see him playing for the Azzurri again. As with Juve, hes been given numerous chances with Italy and has never delievered.

Sabato, 28 maggio @ 13:56:41 CEST (http://www.calciomercato.com/modules.php?name=Your_Account&op=userinfo&uname=Sabato,%2028%20maggio%20@%2013:56:41%20CEST)

Nedved rules out retirement
Sunday 29 May, 2005
Pavel Nedved has assured fans that he won’t be hanging up his boots despite earlier hints at a retirement and praised Liverpool.

The 2003 Ballon D’Or winner has been struggling with a succession of injuries this season, including concussion, head trauma and a recurring ankle problem, and had suggested several times that if the pain continued he would bow out this summer.

“I am still enjoying my football and training,” he assured in a television interview with ‘Stadio Sprint.’ “I want to continue my career with Juventus and have no intention of giving up now.”

Nedved joined the Bianconeri for £25m in July 2001 and the former Lazio star has just added another Scudetto to his CV. Fabio Capello made an instant impact on the Turin giants, though his disagreements with Alessandro Del Piero are growing.

“I know exactly why Capello is a winning Coach,” smiled Nedved. “I understood it almost immediately, but I don’t want to reveal his secret and will keep that one to myself.”

The Italian football world is still reeling from Milan’s Champions’ League capitulation to Liverpool, losing a 3-0 lead in the space of six minutes and going on to a penalty shoot-out defeat.

“It’s a shame for the Rossoneri, but at the same time I am happy for Liverpool as two of my fellow Czechs Milan Baros and Vladimir Smicer are in the squad. They deserved this triumph.”

post match quotes:

from the official site-
Fabio Capello: “We’ve come to the end with character, attention and dedication, we’ve never given up even when we were caught up with on top of the table and in the end we’ve won. Victories do not give you certainties, they’re the basis, with something to be added, to reach more targets.”

Gigi Buffon: “This Scudetto tastes special. It’s been a long journey, during which we’ve had more than a chance to wrap it up but it did not happen. Then, in the most difficult moment, we won at San Siro with a fantastic performance. What I want to highlight is that this year we’ve been celebrating long this Scudetto and I like that a great deal!”

Gianluca Zambrotta: “It’s been a great satisfaction and a beautiful party, I’d like it to be this way every year. The turning point of the season? The great win at San Siro. This is a great start for our new cycle with Capello.”

David Trezeguet: “It’s been a hard season for me, luckily I gave my contribution at the right time!”

Adrian Mutu: “I’m happy I have come back on the pitch and that my team mates gave me the chance to celebrate this Scudetto. I’m now going to play for my National team and get ready for next season.”

from football italia-
Fabio Capello: “It was a tough test this season. We were smart and lucky in our choice of signings, as they proved to be useful additions. On paper we had less strength in depth than many of our competitors, but those who were called upon gave their contribution. I also spoke to Alessandro Del Piero and he said he was misinterpreted.”

also the azzuri side was named
buffon, zambrotta, cannavaro and camoranesi got the call-up

So Juve even gets the most goals in Serie A right? Because Inter didn't get any today and Lecce only got 3

Juve: 67
Lecce: 66
Inter: 65

here you go alex, you are better than milan and deserve to be champions!!

alex got that message by means of telepathy and replies:

ok pavle let other people do the jokes ;)

and i forgot to mention this, but, in la giostra dei gol, when galliani was handing over the trophy, some were saying "oh he must feel terrible" and stuff like that and then the really old bald guy said "well, he has always been juventino". :|
i dont know if they said that as a joke or for real because they stopped talking about that and moved to the relegation battle, but i was like.... W T F!?
so yeah, thats it.
