The first 100 years of Bayern Munich's history - and its success story - begin and end with the name Franz. Is it just a coincidence that the leader of the eleven spirited rebels who met to form FC Bayern in the Gisela Restaurant in Munich on the night of 27th February 1900, was a certain Franz John? Or that it was a Franz who masterminded the split from MTV 1879, the original club, which had suppressed every attempt by the footballers at independence? Is it only chance that exactly a century later, another Franz, this time Beckenbauer, would lead Bayern Munich, now an experienced and visionary club with countless titles to its name, into the new millennium as its president?
Much time and many other differences separate now from then. Franz John co-founded and built Bayern up from nothing and was delighted with relatively modest results, like Bayern's 7-1 victory in their first match against their former team, MTV 1879. But John also gave this 'cavalier' club its first individual touch.
In the early days, people recognised Bayern, then known as Schwabinger Bayern, by the players' straw hats. In his turn, Franz Beckenbauer would help make Bayern Munich what it is today: an international club with millions of fans, an institution reaching way beyond German football.
Not in his wildest dreams could Franz John have imagined that future, or that his team would one day be German champions, European Cup Champions and even World Club Championship winners. Nor could he have imagined that nearly a century later, on a mild spring day in 1999, Beckenbauer would meet the world's leading heads of state, and no less than the British prime minister, Tony Blair, would whisper to him that he was the most famous person there.
Clearly something incredible happened in the 100 years between Franz and Franz.
Bayern opened the new millennium in spectacular fashion, claiming the Champions League, the domestic championship, the World Club Cup and the German Cup in quick succession.
Bayern ended the old millennium on a low note with the devastating defeat to Manchester United in the 1999 Champions League final, but the team built around Oliver Kahn, Stefan Effenberg and Giovane Elber swiftly set about making amends in the new century.
Long-standing rivals Real Madrid felt the effects of Bayern's determination early in the year 2000 as the Reds put no less than eight goals past the Spanish giants in the space of eight days, winning 4-2 at the Bernabeu and 4-1 at home. The sides met again in the semi-finals, but this time Real took revenge, winning the tie with a 2-0 success at home and a crucial away goal in Munich's 2-1 win at the Olympic Stadium.
Ottmar Hitzfeld's men still collected silverware that season, entering the last week of the Bundesliga campaign neck-and-neck with Bayer Leverkusen. The Rhineland outfit fell to a shock defeat against relegated Unterhaching, allowing Bayern to pip them to the title. A week later, the Reds took revenge for the previous year's German Cup final defeat to Werder Bremen with a 3-0 win against the same opponents in the Berlin showpiece, sealing the third league and cup double in the club's history. Oliver Kahn was named German Player of the Year 1999-2000.
There was even better to come in 2000-2001. The omens were not good after an early German Cup exit to unfancied Magdeburg, but after 34 Bundesliga matches, Bayern again finished top of the standings. And again the glory was earned in dramatic fashion as Patrik Andersson blasted a stoppage-time equaliser in Hamburg with almost the last kick of the last match, snatching the title from rivals Schalke 04, whose game had already finished. The Schalke fans had celebrated - for just four minutes.
Brimming with confidence after the knife-edge finale, the Reds travelled to Milan on 23 May 2001 for the Champions League final against Valencia. Bayern had been on a European revenge mission all season, knocking out Manchester United in the quarter-finals and then seeing off Madrid with a 1-0 away win and a 2-1 success at home. Olli Kahn was the hero of that unforgettable night in Milan, saving three penalties in the shoot-out after the match had finished 1-1 after extra time to seal Munich's fourth European Champions Cup title, a quarter of a century after a the previous success.

just wanted to say that you need at leats one top striker (please don´t take prinz poldi!) and 2 or better 3 defenders (half a year only with lizerazu as left back? :nape: )
Very jealous of the Allianz Arena :(
Pizarro14 27-05-2005, 03:43:PM Who Is going to play behind Liza? will it be Gorlitz? Since i know lahm will be out for a couple of months. And Rob don't worry i'am sure u guys will get a new stadium.

I guess it'll mainly be Saliahmidzic. Görlitz can also early that position as well as Schweinsteiger.

Have fun playing crappy second division clubs at the Allianz Arena. :nape:

Podolski will succeed Makaay, not yet.
and 2 or better 3 defenders (half a year only with lizerazu as left back? :nape: )
Liza is still in good shape. We owned the whole league with him at LB.
Nice stadium ;)
Are there any Schalke fans around to open a Schalke 04 Thread? Sorry I put this question here
Hendrik 27-05-2005, 04:18:PM Nope, not needed. Schalke fans usually give up school before the 5th year. English lessons start then.
I didn't wanted to offense you
Sepp2in1 27-05-2005, 05:55:PM Liza is still in good shape. We owned the whole league with him at LB.
do you really think liza can play half a year champions league, bundesliga and dfb cup nearly every game??
and your backup in this position is bad!
brazzo can´t play leftback as we have seen in the half of last season.
schweinsteiger is no defender
and görlitz never played as leftback
Hendrik 27-05-2005, 08:00:PM Görlitz played LB in some preseason games.
I know Liza can't play all the games but he doesn't has to. Our backups are good enough for the early stages of the German Cup and for most Bundesliga games.
Pizarro14 27-05-2005, 08:13:PM Görlitz played LB in some preseason games.

Vince How did Gorlitz do at LB? We all know Liza can't handle a full season alone
Sepp2in1 27-05-2005, 09:42:PM Vince How did Gorlitz do at LB? We all know Liza can't handle a full season alone
well i as a 1860 fan have seen most of görlitz´s games before he came to bayern and i can just say that he is not good enough as LB
Pizarro14 27-05-2005, 09:46:PM well i as a 1860 fan have seen most of görlitz´s games before he came to bayern and i can just say that he is not good enough as LB
ouch atleast ur being honest (I HOPE :p) but yea I feel we need to go shopping for a backup LB
Hendrik 27-05-2005, 10:40:PM Another LB is the last thing we need. :| Like I stated, Lizarazu and Brazzo are good enough against tough opposition, Schweini and Görlitz CAN play that spot if needed.
Lahm will be back for the more important games of the season anyway.

Ok lets count on Brazzo to be a LB (Hopefully Görlitz can be a good enough backup for Liza) :| I still feel we should get one more CB. We Should send scouts to go check if there are any non so expensive CB's out there would be great to get a cheap one :fool:
Hendrik 27-05-2005, 11:13:PM Ok lets count on Brazzo to be a LB
He didn't play exceptionally well but he's not a bad player. He's got lots of experience and is offensively better than Liza.
I still feel we should get one more CB. We Should send scouts to go check if there are any non so expensive CB's out there would be great to get a cheap one
Yep a young defender player would be nice. Maybe we have some guys in the amateur team; I don't know, I don't follow that team on a regular basis.
Take a look at the the amateur team most players are very young.

Pizarro14 27-05-2005, 11:15:PM Man Fink is still playing football? jesus christ he really does love the game
Hendrik 27-05-2005, 11:21:PM Yep he's the captain and the leader for all the young guys.

Hendrik 28-05-2005, 11:53:AM BOBO BALDE'S Celtic career was shrouded in doubt last night after a removal van was spotted outside his plush Glasgow home.
Record Sport can reveal a number of electrical items and clothes were removed from his house yesterday.
And this may be an indication cult hero Balde has had enough of Scottish football and will leave Celtic after tomorrow's Scottish Cup Final against Dundee United and Jackie McNamara's testimonial on Sunday.
We revealed earlier this month Balde has a secret clause in his £25,000-a-week contract, signed just five months ago, which would allow him to leave for no fee.
Long-time admirers Bayern Munich remain favourites to land the 29-year-old giant defender. But Birmingham and Middlesbrough, who tried to sign him in January, are certain to be interested.
Balde signed anew deal in January but insisted a clause be inserted that would enable him to move on a Bosman.
Celtic felt they had to agree to these terms as Martin O'Neill did not want to lose such an important player halfway through the season. But it could now be that Balde will follow his manager out of the door.
Glasgow firm Scottish Foam delivered four huge cases to Balde's house in the west end of Glasgow yesterday.Another six were delivered to his house last week.
Anyone got the web radio link for today's game? :)
Drvar 28-05-2005, 09:00:PM ahah, what a save from a Schalke player! I think Ballack smacked it outside the box, and the player saved it with his hand outstreched, nothing given :).
Drvar 28-05-2005, 09:13:PM legal goal disallowed for Bayern :).
Pizarro14 28-05-2005, 09:16:PM legal goal disallowed for Bayern :).
who took the shot Ballack? pizarro? makaay? thanks for being happy we got disallowed a goal :|
Drvar 28-05-2005, 09:17:PM Bayern leads 1:0, Makaay, after 2 amazing misses, he hits the rebound in.
Pizarro14 28-05-2005, 09:19:PM Toooooooooooooooooooooooooor für Bayern.

Drvar 28-05-2005, 09:19:PM im not happy they got a goal disallowed. im laughing at the terrible refs. a handball penalty not given, a goal disallowed, and now a questionable penalty for Schalke, 1:1. there you go :). and i think Pizarro took the shot.

Somebody please open a Bundesliga 2005/2006 Thread :P
i'am sure if they are having a nice game then Pizarro and Makaay are having a Amazing game :|
Damn now I know why Asamoah got called for the NT :D
The commentator said he is the first & only black player for the Germany NT. He meant actual NT or all-time?
I think all time. If Schalke wins this game, everyone's going to be pointing their fingers at the ref. Just what Germany needs, another match fixing thing...
Hendrik 28-05-2005, 09:42:PM Damn now I know why Asamoah got called for the NT :D
The commentator said he is the first & only black player for the Germany NT. He meant actual NT or all-time?
All-time. Germany lost its African colonies after WWI.
Drvar 28-05-2005, 09:43:PM yeah, Asamoah is playing very good, but all the good play from Schalke gets overshadowed by the **** refs :).
Thanks for the answers.
Drvar a Schalke fan, too? :D
Drvar 28-05-2005, 09:49:PM no, just no other game on the TV right now ;).
Drvar 28-05-2005, 09:58:PM ahaha, oh my ******* god, what a hilarous game. the things that spray water on the field, sprinklers, just opened up during the game, spraying all over the field :). that was the funniest **** ever. Asamoah washed up in the water :).
Nimreitz 28-05-2005, 10:05:PM Where the hell is this thing being played? Did they even know there was going to be a game today?! Se7en, no one is a Schalke fan; all of you deserve to be round up and sent to an island where no one will ever hear from you again, like lepers.

BayernBoz 28-05-2005, 10:53:PM How do you search pics from gettyimages.com? I tried it but have no idea where to go.
type in editorial.gettyimages.com, then look on the left side of the page, there is a tab bar that says 'All Images', click it and it has options. If you want soccer pictures, choose 'sport'. then just type in what you want to search in the space above the tab that you chose 'sport' in.
btw, if you're looking for the bayern-schalke pics, they're on the front page of gettyimages.

Hendrik 29-05-2005, 06:42:PM I hope we resign Ballack as soon as possible or sell him NOW so that he can't go for free next year.
Of course his exit would hurt us but we could finally buy a real "No.10".
Damn Awax has disappeared over the last week. No highlights for us. :(
Pizarro14 29-05-2005, 07:18:PM Mr Magath is a f*cking pimp holding those 2 trophies damn (H). If the money is right i dont see a problem letting go on Ballack. But i would really like for him to stay at Bayern and not go on a free transfer
Klobb 29-05-2005, 07:59:PM Ballack is my fav. player, and I really can't see him leaving. But If he leaves for free... :kader:
BayernBoz 29-05-2005, 08:09:PM I don't think we're gonna let Ballack go that easily. After what he has shown he can do in that Bayern jersey the last couple of weeks.....unlikely.

Deisler 29-05-2005, 10:00:PM That stadium is fvcking hot. Man it looks way more than 66000 capacity from that point of view.
Nimreitz 29-05-2005, 10:37:PM I thought it looked kinda lame from the outside with that white crap, but it looks amazing from the inside. Too bad 1860 get to play the first match, that's just dumb. I mean, didn't we pay for it?
Klobb 29-05-2005, 11:13:PM Damn, Stadium is great on the inside!, No track surrounding the field like b4.

Klobb 30-05-2005, 05:24:PM Guy second from right is getting aroused from the look of his shorts.
I think its alright, I prefer it over the current away shirt, but the current home and 3rd>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>new one.

Hendrik 30-05-2005, 05:48:PM I love the collar, retro style.
Adidas made an exception for the upcoming season: Bayern don't need to wear the 3 stripes.
BayernBoz 30-05-2005, 08:44:PM It's actually a pretty nice jersey. Love the collar.
Klobb 30-05-2005, 08:51:PM Look like an odd fabric, almost like cotton.
Hendrik 30-05-2005, 09:41:PM I'm watching the 1860 vs. Nürnberg game ... Old Trafford in Munich :lui:
To bad the blues don't know how to bring atmosphere into the stadium.
Sepp2in1 30-05-2005, 11:03:PM To bad the blues don't know how to bring atmosphere into the stadium.
when were you the last time in the stadium to bring atmosphere in it, vince? :D
well it looked good:

but i still don´t like it
Deisler 30-05-2005, 11:41:PM From that point you would need binoculars ro see the players. It looks packed though. Good thing that the second divison has not killed your spirit, or was the new stadium?
Sepp2in1 30-05-2005, 11:59:PM From that point you would need binoculars ro see the players.
the picture does not give a good image, how it is in the stadium! you see the players very well, especially in comparison to the olympiastadion.Still our old stadium the "Grünwalder Stadion" was the best :D
It looks packed though.
Yes, there was no emty seat!
Good thing that the second divison has not killed your spirit, or was the new stadium?
we had an average of ca. 20.000 spectators/game last year, which is very good for second devision! (you have to consider that we played 12 from 17 games in the grünwalder stadion with a capacity from about 18.000)
today was packed because of the new stadium obviously. i think we will have an average of 25.000 next year, which would be the best number in second division
But surely the second division didn´t kill our spirit! the motto of 1860 fans is: onetimes lion, always lion! so our fans are very loyal! we had an average about 10.000-15.000 in third and fourth division also!
Hendrik 31-05-2005, 12:08:AM Rummenigge on Ballack: "We are not thinking about selling him. We want to renew his contract beyond 2006. We know what we have in Michael and he knows what he has in Bayern. There are not even three teams in Europe that would prove interesting to him."
Bobo Balde on the Bayern romors: "I am delighted a club such as Bayern Munich say they are interested in me, they want five players and say I'm top of the list. I would be very happy if I moved to Munich because they are a huge club. I don't have an agent. I have an adviser and his friend works in Germany and Bayern have spoken with him. At the moment Bayern say they haven't made a decision but are still interested. Bayern are one of the biggest clubs in Europe and they say I am top of their list so I will wait until they say they don't want Bobo before I decide to leave Celtic."

Sepp2in1 i honestly got dissapointed when i found out that your team didn't make it to the bundesliga one because its sad to see no Munich derby. I really hope you guy make it this year with the new stadium and play us in this marvelous new impiant.

Nimreitz 31-05-2005, 01:09:AM Still our old stadium the "Grünwalder Stadion" was the best :D
HA! Yeah I was actually going to tell you to go back to Grünwalder Strasse if you didn't like the Allianz Arena.
The collar is fantastic, I have a 5 year old white away Bayern jersey with OPEL on the front and the collar, it's great. Hell, it's a respectable everyday shirt to wear around, not T-Shirt or Jersey-esque.
Pizarro14 31-05-2005, 04:25:PM I love the OPEL Bayern Jersey, They should bring that design back. I also didn't like the gold away jersey. The Black UEFA CL jersey was good i think they can make it a better jersey and stay with the same colors for next years Jersey.
Any Transfer updates Vince? Btw we are still throwing a party at ur house Vince :p . Going to get a new sig for the Double Winners of 04-05
Hendrik 31-05-2005, 04:30:PM Bremen won't sell Ismael unless they find a replacement - hope this does not take too long.

btw I love the NEW YORK FOOTBALL GIANTS but saying the same looks like the new Bayern stadium is bad. Because Giants Stadium is looking bad every year.
Deisler 02-06-2005, 06:28:AM It has an 90 000 capacity. And i didn't mean like look, i meant the shape is exactly the same, in the inside at least. It has 3 rings like the GIants anly the seat colors are different. :D
Hendrik 02-06-2005, 04:03:PM The Ismael deal will probably look like this:
We pay 10 M for him, Bremen buy Frings and send 5 M back in return. Then we gotta pay another million for Frings' higher salary.
Pizarro14 02-06-2005, 05:28:PM The Ismael deal will probably look like this:
We pay 10 M for him, Bremen buy Frings and send 5 M back in return. Then we gotta pay another million for Frings' higher salary.
6 M isn't that bad now they can have Frings. But I want to retain Ballack, There are reports of him going to Real Madrid. If the money is good he can go to Real but for a free transfer thats going to be so f*cked up
Hendrik 02-06-2005, 06:29:PM The officials know that, too. It's a win-win situation. We either sell him for a nice amount or keep a good player.
Voltaic Borusse 02-06-2005, 07:24:PM Yeah, it's not like Bayern would falter from a Ballack sale. I mean, there would be void in the midfield of course, but nothing topsy-turvy.
Hendrik 02-06-2005, 08:03:PM We would need a replacement though. A player like Tevez or that guy in Voltaic's sig.

Sepp2in1 03-06-2005, 12:03:PM Man sure i realize that you played with your b-team!
but we didn´t play with our best team also!
the main difference was that our players cared about the game, because they knew how much it means to the fans!
your players didn´t, so i AM happy, yes!
and the victory last year was against your a-team btw

Hendrik 05-06-2005, 05:51:PM Reports in France are indicating that Bayern Munich striker Roque Santa Cruz is keen to move to Paris Saint Germain in the summer.
The Paraguayan youngster has experienced troubled times in Die Bundesliga this season, after suffering from poor form, injury and family concerns.
Bayern boss Felix Magath recently affirmed his faith in the 23-year-old, although PSG are now reportedly set to test the German giants' resolve to hold onto the player.
Officials from the Ligue 1 outfit will monitor Santa Cruz in Paraguay's upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Brazil and Bolivia, with the forward reputedly close to reaching an agreement with the Parc des Princes outfit.
The French side are believed to be optimistic despite Bayern holding out for €7 million in the face of their proposed €5 million valuation, and are keen to partner Santa Cruz with Portuguese star Pauleta next season.
We could buy a better striker for that money. I know this deal will hurt us in the long run though.
Klobb 05-06-2005, 06:36:PM I say we keep him, he could be huge in a little bit.
Deisler 05-06-2005, 06:43:PM He can't leave us. He has the cutiest wife of them all. :(
Klobb 05-06-2005, 07:06:PM Screw you, I like Deislers....... :monkey:
Hendrik 06-06-2005, 04:10:PM Willy Sagnol, Owen Hargreaves and Roque Santa Cruz are about to extend their contracts until 2008.
Michael Ballack will be offered a longer deal.
Deisler 06-06-2005, 05:10:PM Good if Frings leaves we need Owen desperately, plus i have a feeling he would be highly motivated. Roque used to be one of my favorites but if we sign Podolski i would loan him away, i think we should use him more as a sub at least. Sagnol is not bad at all. I just hope we don't extend Ze Roberto.
Hendrik 06-06-2005, 05:31:PM Roque used to be one of my favorites but if we sign Podolski i would loan him away, i think we should use him more as a sub at least.
I think Bayern don't want Roque to go for free next year, that's the main reason for the contract extension. Podolski, if he plays well in the league, will be worth to think about in the summer of 2006 after a hopefully great WC. He'll be very expensive though.
Deisler 06-06-2005, 05:42:PM If he plays well in the league and the WC he will be Real madrid or Chlesea material and prohibitive for us i think. It would be better if we sign him and let him play in Koln on loan in order to at least have the sittuation in our hands. Even though i have a feeling he will end up somewhere in the PL.
Hendrik 06-06-2005, 05:58:PM Selling him after the WC is exactly in Cologne's interest. And after all, they have the last word.
I doubt he's going to a foreign league/team. Who was the last good German player who left the Bundesliga? Maybe Ziege.
Deisler 06-06-2005, 06:04:PM That's because there haven't been any VERY good players to leave. If Podolsky becomes a GALACTICO or a if he is the Real Deal he might end up elsewhere. I'd give Koln like 4 million plus a 2 year free loan for Guerrero (So he can make the quality Jump) and use Podolski and Pizarro upfront...IF and ONLY he is the Phenom everybody believes he is.
Hendrik 06-06-2005, 06:10:PM They could get 10 M if they sold him now. I doubt they'd accept that offer.
That's because there haven't been any VERY good players to leave.
Basically all German players at Bayern could play for big European clubs. Kahn and Ballack would be wearing Real Madrid shirts by now.
Klobb 06-06-2005, 08:03:PM Yeh, Kahn could be anywhere he damn well pleased. Ballack prob. at Madrid aswell. I say we swoop for Podolski after WC for around 16 mill.

Ismael is a worldclass player with good leadership, Kovac is an above mediocre defender. Bayern would've kept him if he was unreplaceable.
Alianza 08-06-2005, 08:07:AM Ismael is a worldclass player with good leadership, Kovac is an above mediocre defender. Bayern would've kept him if he was unreplaceable.
I wouldn't consider Ismael worldclass quite yet he has to prove it first in a big club like Bayern, i hope it turns out he is becuase were going to need a good defense to compete in Europe, Now we should make a move to loan Guerrero out so he can get more playing time(been great in the Nt)and polish his skills, Makaay, Pizarro, Roque. Bring back clause so that the lahm situacion wouldnt happen though.
Future Bayern attack Poldolski & Guerrero
Hendrik 08-06-2005, 02:39:PM Ismael lead his team to the double. That's enough proof in my books.
Our defense has never been better on paper - Sagnol, Lucio, Ismael, Lahm - I hope they can play together.
mark77 08-06-2005, 02:41:PM Ismael is a worldclass player with good leadership, Kovac is an above mediocre defender. Bayern would've kept him if he was unreplaceable.
worldclass, don't push it Vince. lol
Reports say Bayern wanted to keep Kovac but wanted a new experience.
anyway, good luck with Ismael.
Hendrik 08-06-2005, 02:58:PM Being a top 5 defender in a top league in two consecutive years doesn't make him worldclass? Like you said, lol.
Reports say Bayern wanted to keep Kovac but wanted a new experience.
Then you gotta define "wanted to keep him". He was offered a new contract with a massive pay-cut, like Ze Roberto. He's a good defender, gives you depth, but you can't win the CL with him starting in major games.
mark77 08-06-2005, 03:03:PM It all depends on what you define as World Class.
Kovac is gonna be on our bench and Ismael a starter at Bayern. Ismael makes me think about Zebina when he played in the center. :o
He's gonna have fun with Lucio next year. ;)
I really think you should of went for a tougher and more solid defender like Cris of Lyon for example.
Hendrik 08-06-2005, 03:17:PM Cris was the most pish player to ever step into a Bundesliga stadium.
He's developed into a good player but Lyon don't sell their good players.
Pizarro14 08-06-2005, 04:24:PM Well Guerrero and Pizarro just finished there WC Qualifier and its so sad not to see them go. But Guerrero is doing a awesome job for his country, u guys better Loan him to a midtable team asap. Ismael WorldClass? its hard to believe lets see when we start our CL games

he is a great leader, speaks nearly perfect german (that as a french :hump: )

What positions can he play, strengths/weaknesses ?
:)
adizlaja 08-06-2005, 09:55:PM Ismael is worldclass? Haha. I dont even feel like arguing... but you will ask for his head within the first month of bundesliga play.
Hendrik 09-06-2005, 01:10:PM -Vince-, can you tell me a bit about Michael Ballack please.
What positions can he play, strengths/weaknesses ?
Pizarro14 sumed it up nicely in the Real Madrid thread.
He can play the DM or AM role.
His main strenghts are heading (imo there's no player better at doing that than him), passing and shooting (he'll give you 10+ goals per season).
He's a complete player that does not have weaknesses but a few minor ones: quickness and temper on the field. There are only a few games in which he does not get carded.
So Madrid offered 40 M (incl. salary). That's really an offer to think about selling him, especially since he's running out of contract next year.

Something is scaring me! Vince doesnt look very sad with Ballack (maybe) coming to Real Madrid. This looks really odd
Spanish papers are talking about a cheap transfer since next year Ballack will be free. It sounds really easy. In my opinion Ballack should fit very well in the spanish league.
Vince, in your opinion what have been the key players of Bayern this season? and why?
Hendrik 09-06-2005, 03:01:PM Something is scaring me! Vince doesnt look very sad with Ballack (maybe) coming to Real Madrid. This looks really odd
Ballack is my favourite player but I'm being realistic here. Every player has its price. Bayern could buy a good replacement (finally a playmaker), another striker and a young defender for that money.
Spanish papers are talking about a cheap transfer since next year Ballack will be free. It sounds really easy.
Bayern are not letting him go for anything in the ~15 M region.
Vince, in your opinion what have been the key players of Bayern this season? and why?
I know what you're aiming at. Ballack was our MVP this season. We relied on him playing well in the big games.
peruytu 09-06-2005, 09:27:PM Voltaic, thats one hell of a sig man! Thats true art right there... I bet you if Marcelinho himself saw that, he would be impressed. Anyways, who made it for you?
Nimreitz 09-06-2005, 09:46:PM Something is scaring me! Vince doesnt look very sad with Ballack (maybe) coming to Real Madrid. This looks really odd
Haha, yeah Vince has a love/hate relationship with Michael Ballack. I don't think he complains about any player as much as he complains about Ballack.
I do NOT NOT NOT want Ballack to leave, even for 40M, and I'm not being realistic. That guys is my absolute favorite player and I don't want him in a Real Madrid jersey, and I DO NOT WANT TO BUY A REAL MADRID JERSEY, but I will if Ballack goes there, I'm such a huge fan of his. He even wears #13!
Don't Real Madrid have enough central midfielders anyway? How about a defender you idiots, it's been a glaring hole in your team for 5 years! Leave Ballack alone. And if you want to replace all of the old guys in your team, Ballack's like 29, so why don't you go for someone a touch younger? We'll sell you Diesler for that same $40M. He has more promise than Ballack if he realizes his potential, plus he's a lot younger, and as a bonus his wife is SUPER hot ;)
Vince, you forgot to tell the Madridistas the best part about Michael Ballack.... he's SOOOOO handsome!

peruytu 09-06-2005, 10:11:PM Ballack has turk blood in her right?
Klobb 09-06-2005, 11:10:PM Wouldn't be surprising^
Vince, I agree with you on Ballack being MVP and Bayern relying on him, but Makaay is def. real close to Ballack, makaay did alot in the BL/CL.
PS: Like my sig?Wojtala is a god
Deisler 10-06-2005, 06:37:AM Nim is right. Ballack to Madrid is just a dumb move not for Real but for him too. He is 29 and is a fixed player at Bayern. He is German champion and im pretty sure that wont have any troubles to double it next year. His chances to win the CL are the same in both Madrid and Munchen. Plus he speaks German not spanish. COnsidering next year is his chance to enter in the bundesteam legacy by winning the world cup. He needs to play in Germany in order to accomplish that. I strongly think this move will not benefit no one but Bayern by gettint 40 million to spent in a deffinitively cheap market where we could easily can get an all star playmaker...STILL I WANT BALLACK TO STAY WITH US.
Smoking hot sig Klobb :rockman: :rockman:
We won't pay 40 million for Ballack ;)
We will probably go to 20 million, tops.
Vince, What are the chances of us getting him?
Deisler 10-06-2005, 07:04:AM That should be more than enough to sign Aimar. :D He would be perfect for us. If not id be ok with Marcelinho too. ;)
Nimreitz 10-06-2005, 07:10:AM Rosicky?
:D
Deisler 10-06-2005, 07:22:AM Rosicky?
:D
Are you crazy? We need a soccer player not a Swaroski crystal duck. :)
How about Hleb? We get him and with the money left get Podoslki too. :D
Hendrik 10-06-2005, 10:06:AM We won't pay 40 million for Ballack ;)
We will probably go to 20 million, tops.
Vince, What are the chances of us getting him?
Knowing the officials they'd rather let him go for free next year than selling him under his value. 20 million is a big no-no, you can't buy a proper successor with that amount of money.
I feel like he actually wants a fat new contract and more money than Kahn.
(Y) Thanks
Also does Ze Roberto play in the middle for you guys because he was playing very well in the middle for Brasil in the last couple games, especially against Paraguay.
Sepp2in1 10-06-2005, 04:36:PM I feel like he actually wants a fat new contract and more money than Kahn.
Hoeness offered him 8 M a year! (2 mopre than kahn earns)
and ballack wasn´t even impressed! so i it is possible that he doesn´t extend his contract. if it is so bayern musst sell him that year, so 20 M would be a godd price
Pizarro14 10-06-2005, 04:39:PM (Y) Thanks
Also does Ze Roberto play in the middle for you guys because he was playing very well in the middle for Brasil in the last couple games, especially against Paraguay.
When I seen him play most of the time he plays as a winger. But Yes i agree i seen Ze Roberto play in the middle in brasil, Magath probably feels there are better players to play in the middle then Ze.
Drvar 10-06-2005, 05:00:PM Ballack wouldnt get anything more than 5 million or 6 million euros (wages) at Real Madrid imho, and if hes crazy enough to turn down 8 million, well, hes crazy :).
Hendrik 10-06-2005, 05:04:PM Magath wasn't playing Ze too much in the last games which got to do with the fact that he usally plays a lot beter for the nt than for his club. The best position has gotta be the left winger where he can use his quickness and make some nice crosses. However he can't score for ****.
- Breaking News -
We've offically signed Ismael for a 3-year-deal, Frings is going the other way to Bremen. Both clubs agreed not to tell anything about the transfer fees.
-----------------------------
I can't imagine we're not gonna sell Frings AND Ballack.
Hendrik 10-06-2005, 05:06:PM Ballack wouldnt get anything more than 5 million or 6 million euros (wages) at Real Madrid imho, and if hes crazy enough to turn down 8 million, well, hes crazy .
Then he would have extended his contract already.
Pizarro14 10-06-2005, 05:12:PM Frings mouth played better then him on the field. Happy he left, Thanks for the news Vince. I think we need one more CB and one more Midfielder to sign then we will be fine for the 05/06
Drvar 10-06-2005, 05:17:PM Then he would have extended his contract already.
exactly...but still i dont believe he will get payed more than Ronaldo, or Beckham.
Klobb 10-06-2005, 06:54:PM Woot, cya frings. :rockman:
Hendrik 12-06-2005, 09:16:PM Ismaël himself described his switch to Bavaria as "a massive opportunity." The 29 year-old is hoping the media spotlight on Bayern will finally see him called up to his national squad. "People in France only talk about Bayern. Bremen are only ever mentioned in passing - and that's because of Johan Micoud and myself," he was quoted as saying.
Apart from breaking into the international set-up, Ismael has set his sights high for his time in Munich. "My dream is to win the Champions League," he declared, especially with next year's final slated for Paris: "It would be the biggest thing ever."
You gotta love his attitude.
Some crappy sources reported that Ballack has stated not to extend his contract with Bayern.
Alianza 12-06-2005, 09:20:PM Well lets hope that Ismael can be a key to a CHampions league trophy.
on a another note if Ballack does not want to extend his contract would should sell him now and Buy either Hleb or D'alesandro(even though he has ****ty attitude great playmaker) or any other world class playmaker lets put that money into use.
mark77 12-06-2005, 09:26:PM Ballack for sale?
hmm, interesting! :D
He's not going to Juve.
We'll out bid you if he decides to leave. :ewan:
mark77 12-06-2005, 09:41:PM ok, another CAM for Madrid, were's the logic here?
Madrid formation for next season, 1-5-4
He's just as good at CM as he is at CAM.
Plus, I don't want Juve to get him. :)
Hendrik 12-06-2005, 11:21:PM This will probably be his last move in his career and it should be an improvement in terms of glory so Madrid is the only possible team.
As for the successors, I don't want Hleb or D'Alessandro. The one doesn't show up when it matters, the other one is not even good enough for Wolfsburg.
We'd have to buy a foreigner, I don't see anyone on the German market being able to fit that role. A playmaker like Riquelme (I know Barca just sold him) would help us the most. The risk is that especially South Americans often need months to adapt.
mark77 13-06-2005, 12:50:AM :|
Glory is in the past, he's gotta look to the future.
Inter is were he should go. :| :| :|
Alianza 13-06-2005, 05:48:AM The thing is Vince that there r no other playmakers availabe Aimar or Riquelme would be great but how likely is that? Even if it ils likely how long would the adaptation be, Hleb or D'alessandro know the bundisliga at least and i think it would be the best we could get.
Who do you have in mind if we actually sell Ballack ???
O yeah we just let go of Frings to?
Deisler 13-06-2005, 06:40:AM Anyone from the amatorial team? Honestly if we sell Ballack i'd rather have an unknown youngster (Preferably German) that spend money on these so-called stars.
The best option they had was Van Der Vart, now gone to Hamburg. I don't know the Seedorf situation in Milan but he might want to meve since Kaka is overshadowing him.
Even though i have the scary feeling we will settle for Hamman. :nape:
Hamann's signed a new contract at Liverpool so no worries here. If Ballack leaves I dont think we need a replacement. During the time he was out injured, we played reasonably well, especially the game against Dortmund. I'd much rather promote someone from the youth team than spend the time and effort and money looking for a replacement. Schweinsteiger can probably take his spot anyways. It'll give the young guys a chance.
Vagegast 13-06-2005, 07:24:AM http://www.vi.nl/images2/3/4/b/1992285661_1999999861_Sneijder_groot_465.jpg
Deisler 13-06-2005, 07:29:AM I thought he is a right winger?
Alianza 13-06-2005, 07:32:AM we probally be able to manage to get the double without Ballack but no way the Champions league without a reasonable replacement.
How but Essian?
Hendrik 13-06-2005, 07:33:AM :|
Glory is in the past, he's gotta look to the future.
Inter is were he should go. :| :| :|
He already said he's got two options: either stay or move to Madrid.
A 30,000 crowd doesn't attract him.
Vagegast 13-06-2005, 07:55:AM I thought he is a right winger?Maybe politically.
Hendrik 13-06-2005, 01:52:PM According to Marca Ballack's advisor uses Madrid in order to get more money out of Bayern. Luxemburgo does not want him and he does not fit the system.
mark77 13-06-2005, 02:25:PM cheap reason(30 000 crowd)
I guess he'll be staying in Munich then if Real don't want him. :D
Hendrik 13-06-2005, 02:29:PM cheap reason(30 000 crowd)
Big reason. Guide someone through Bernabeu, Allianz Arena and Della Alpi.
mark77 13-06-2005, 02:37:PM From the article you posted I think $$$ is more important to him and his agent.
btw, what was Kovac's salary last season?
Well I guess Ballack isn't coming to Real Madrid.
Good luck to him at Bayern.
Hendrik 13-06-2005, 02:58:PM I think so too but the stadium and the crowd usually are important for a player's decision, especially when the offers are roughly the same.
Kovac made something in the 2,5 - 3 million range.
mark77 13-06-2005, 03:14:PM interesting, I heard he's gonna get 1.5m €/year for 3 years.
Hendrik 13-06-2005, 03:38:PM Wait, I thought in the old Deutsche Mark currency. :(
That should be about the same he made at Bayern. :jap:
I got a feeling that Frings will have a great season at Bremen next year. They already have a good midfield there, so it will be easy for him to get into the rhythm of play. Not only will he be upset about the whole Bayern deal, but he'll want to show that he is the German national team caliber player.
Klobb 13-06-2005, 08:54:PM Bleh,Perhaps he'll just start getting frustrated and say he's not getting enough chances again, but most likely he will turn it around.
Hendrik 13-06-2005, 09:23:PM Let's hope so for the sake of the NT.
Alianza 13-06-2005, 11:23:PM i think it was a mistake getting rid of Frings he is a good player we should of kept i n case anybody is injured.
Hendrik 13-06-2005, 11:55:PM The top priority was to acquire a good defender for, not too expensive, and we did that.
We have some nice versatile backups for the midfield positions. Demichelis, Salihamidzic, Karimi, Hargreaves, Scholl and maybe Ze Roberto.
Now we gotta look for another young defender who can learn from Lucio and Ismael.
Klobb 14-06-2005, 12:32:AM All that fuss about Hargreaves going to Tottenham w/e...Is it confirmed hes staying put?
Alianza 14-06-2005, 12:40:AM I think we have a strong solild team we dont have huge gaps what we need to do know is polish our young amateur players our else we will always have to depend on the transfer market.
tottiiii 14-06-2005, 12:43:AM fullback Lahm is back at Munich...is that correct or is he gonna be loaned out again ?
or else we will always have to depend on the transfer market.
We've been depending on the transfer market for years and years. Bayern is Bayern... we always get our way with the market.
Alianza 14-06-2005, 12:47:AM i know we do , but we shouldn't it would be nice to have good bayern german players coming up from the amateurs like schwiesntergkjgfhasl.
Deisler 14-06-2005, 02:13:AM Well when there are talents like Schweinny we have always promoted am. Unfortunately there aren't any good youngsters left in the amateur team.
Vince what happened to that german-italian guy Antoni Di Salvo? He was promising.
Klobb 14-06-2005, 02:32:AM I believe Antonio Di Salvo is on Hansa Rostock?
Hendrik 14-06-2005, 07:28:AM Yep, Rostock.
tottiiii 14-06-2005, 07:33:AM Vince, or anyone Bayern fan...is Lahm back with you guys ?
Alianza 14-06-2005, 08:36:AM Yep Lahm is finally back, too bad he just got i njured and will miss the first couple months of the season.
Pizarro14 14-06-2005, 05:43:PM Vince, or anyone Bayern fan...is Lahm back with you guys ?
He's Back but got seriously injured on the last game in trainning if i'am not mistaken. Also yes he's Bayern now no more loan crap lol.
I seriously am not crazy about the new Bayern Home Jerseys. Hopefully we can stick with our CL jersey i liked those
tottiiii 14-06-2005, 09:08:PM damn, thats rough..thanks for the help.
Hendrik 14-06-2005, 10:18:PM I seriously am not crazy about the new Bayern Home Jerseys. Hopefully we can stick with our CL jersey i liked those
I think they're an improvement over the last home jerseys. The new ones are only for Bundesliga games, we'll stick with the black CL jerseys.
Klobb 14-06-2005, 10:29:PM I love the CL jersey, simply brilliant. We could do away with the away kits :jambo:
Anyway, on interview with Lahm on fcb website, they say he might not be back until after christmas. :boohoo:
After watching the last 3 games by Brazil, I have a feeling we should be playing Ze Roberto as an attacking mid. Give him the space and room to be creative... he can be a Scholl type of player. Have Ballack play as a defensive mid, Deisler as right mid, and Schweinsteiger as the left winger. Bastian has proven himself and should be starting there. We have nobody for the attacking mid position, and Ze has been playing well for Brazilian. He hasn't been playing on the left side, but more of a central role and it's been working for him and his team.
Klobb 17-06-2005, 01:24:AM Assuming he doesn't go to Roma.
Hendrik 17-06-2005, 01:53:PM Sagnol is about to sign a new contract (http://skysports.planetfootball.com/list.asp?hlid=285376&CPID=22&CLID=&lid=9&title=Sagnol+set+to+stay?&channel=Germany)
Good news.
Pizarro14 17-06-2005, 09:54:PM Sagnol is about to sign a new contract (http://skysports.planetfootball.com/list.asp?hlid=285376&CPID=22&CLID=&lid=9&title=Sagnol+set+to+stay?&channel=Germany)

Thats great news, Also its confirmed Ze Roberto will stay for another year
Perfect... now let's give him the attacking mid position like I said. :ewan:
Hendrik 20-06-2005, 02:13:PM I thought he played a more defensive minded position in the nt.
Ze agrees on a one-year extension (http://www.fcbayern.t-com.de/en/news/news/2005/04448.php?fcb_sid=798a74473a3ceb68eeb32e98f104875c )
:rockman:
Klobb 20-06-2005, 11:24:PM Bleh, alright. :rockman:
theedor 20-06-2005, 11:34:PM has Podolski signed with bayern?
Klobb 21-06-2005, 02:38:AM No, not yet :brow: , he is still with FC Cologne, newly promoted to Bundesliga 1. We'll probably nab him after the world cup
Nimreitz 21-06-2005, 06:33:AM We should agree to a fee right now, but allow him to stay in Koln for the season, just like we did with Ballack at Leverkusen. Plus if he really breaks out this season (as Ballack did in 2002), we'll get him on the cheap.
Hendrik 21-06-2005, 12:03:PM Cologne are not dumb, they're not gonna sell his rights before the WC.
Klobb 21-06-2005, 12:38:PM They'll prob. get a pool full of cash for him after WC.
Deisler 22-06-2005, 07:00:AM We should agree to a fee right now, but allow him to stay in Koln for the season, just like we did with Ballack at Leverkusen. Plus if he really breaks out this season (as Ballack did in 2002), we'll get him on the cheap.
Out of curiosity: How about ih he sucks @$$ during this season? Loan him to Shtutgart?
Klobb 22-06-2005, 12:33:PM He won't suck ass, its podolski.
Hendrik 22-06-2005, 09:51:PM Let Makaay retire first, then sign him. The least thing I want to see is the most promising German player rotting on our bench. I'd rather want him to go to Schalke in that case.
SB9Dragon 23-06-2005, 12:06:AM Damn. Why did Ze have to resign. He would have been a perfect addition to Inter. Though in a ways I'm happy Kuffour picked Roma.
But I'm wondering, why did he lose his starting job? Last I remember he was a main stay in the back. What happened?
Hendrik 23-06-2005, 12:13:AM 4,5 years ago he had a starting spot. His daughter died by accident and since then he was not the same.
I'm not sure if he actually played a single game this season.
Klobb 23-06-2005, 12:27:AM I'm sure u mean started a game. :)
Hendrik 23-06-2005, 12:46:AM Nah. I just checked, he played 7 games and 1 for the amateurs.
Klobb 23-06-2005, 01:36:AM Really!? I thought he was just a starter/rarely benched guy, I coulda sworn I remember him playing very well against chelsea in the beginning half..
He played in the CL against Ajax too.
Hendrik 23-06-2005, 01:53:AM Really!? I thought he was just a benched guy, I coulda sworn I remember him playing very well against chelsea in the beginning half..
We're talking about Kuffour, right? He didn't make the squad in the Chelsea games.
some sh*t from tribalfootball
"Chelsea eye Bayern Munich winger Schweinsteiger
tribalfootball.com - June 22, 2005
Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger is attracting interest from Chelsea.
The German midfielder, 20, has attracted the attention of Europe's top clubs after his outstanding displays this season.
Blues fans will know the tricky youngster from his impressive performances against them in the Champions League quarter-final.
He has also earned a starting role in Jurgen Klinsmann's Germany side.
Bayern have slapped a £10million tag on Schweinsteiger, who signed a four-year deal a fortnight ago.
Chelsea see Schweinsteiger as a cheaper alternative to £16m target Shaun Wright-Phillips."
Haha they can offer 40 M and Bayern wouldn't sell him. Good that we just extended his contract.
Klobb 23-06-2005, 03:02:AM I thought you were talking about Ze right there, thought you had lost it or something.. :nape:
Hendrik 23-06-2005, 03:06:AM lol Ze obviously played and started many games :ewan:
Deisler 23-06-2005, 06:48:AM I'd rather sell Ballack than Schweinny at this point.
For some reasons i really see Podolski at BVB. He would look goos in yellow. :p
Can you tell me how many goals/appearances has Podolski got for his club (FC Koln?)
Nimreitz 23-06-2005, 11:04:AM Chelsea see Schweinsteiger as a cheaper alternative to £16m target Shaun Wright-Phillips."[/i]
Haha they can offer 40 M and Bayern wouldn't sell him. Good that we just extended his contract.
Sometimes I just hate how tight we can be financially although we haven't been as bad recently. Schweinsteiger is twice the player SWP is, but he probably wouldn't cost as much. I just pray to god he doesn't leave Bayern, he has a starting spot on the wing here for the next 10 years guaranteed, we might as well just sign him for 10 years and say he makes 5% more than the next highest payed winger in the Bundesliga.
Sepp2in1 23-06-2005, 11:30:AM Can you tell me how many goals/appearances has Podolski got for his club (FC Koln?)
30 games, 24 goals, 5 assist this year in second division.
last year he had 10 goals in 18 games in the first division! (most goals a 18 year old ever scored in bundesliga in one season)
