Diogo can play as RB and maybe as RM/RW (he could play in that position tomorrow, River would use a 3-5-2 vs Banfield)

i really don't trust in Ramos as CB. Don't get me wrong, he has talent, he's fast, young, but there isn't anything like playing in Real Madrid, specially as CB. The pressure could break him (...aneeeelkaaaa...) and selling Samuel for 15m?? AS must be on crack.

just a thing...

whats the point in getting 2 RB like Ramos and Diogo?

I mean Ramos can play as CB too, but mainly he is a RB! we could have 3 RBs with M.Salgado, Diogo and Ramos.

So getting Diogo is stupid cause Salgado can play at least 2 or 3 years at top level. In that time Ramos could play as sub-RB or CB if needed being a defense than can play in every position!

I'm not being biased here and so I'm going to admit that I think PAblo Garcia doesnt deserve to wear the Real Madrid shirt.

But Diogo and now Lugano? Diogo is only 21 and well <Jap Stam + Roberto Carlos= Diogo (in looks for Stam :p)..........he's a fenomenon <incredibly skilled for a defender and marks as well as Stam>

Like when I heard Pablo Garcia I was like ...."What?....thats stupid". (so was everyone in the room <many who are from spain>) But when Lugano was announced on TV....everyone seemed to agree without question. The guy has been the best defender in the brazilian league (foreign player or Brazilian) for like 3 years now. He's a beast.

Again, dont know about Garcia (he failed miserably in Milan).....but as for Diogo and Lugano...you can be 100% sure that you have 2 future legends coming this summer (picture Roberto Carlos arriving years back). Great buys (Y)

I want Samuel to leave, cause we need a faster player.

Lets be honest, he didnt played like we expected (knowing we paid 25m €), is really possible he will sucks the next seasons aswell, so if we can get 20-25m € for hi. I would sell him.

For our system to work, we must have an anchor Centre-Half(Sweeper), a Speedy CB, (of course speedy wing-backs that can attack), and a hard-working CENTRE-DEFENSIVE-MID.

Between the time Makelele left and Gravesen came, we struggled with the latter(sp?). Now we have it complete and we're trying to change it. (N)

I swear if we sell Samuel for 15 million I might fly to Madrid and shoot Florentino. :f***:

I like the idea of getting Diogo, from what I understand he can also play RM and according to MARCA (http://www.marca.com/edicion/noticia/0,2458,643459,00.html) can play LM, so that means he can also play LB. If we got him, we would have a great back-up at RB, RM, LB, & LM and if we got Ramos, he can play CB and RB. This is what the team needs more of : versatility.

I think Diogo would be an excellent buy, also get Ramos and Robinho and if and only if Helguera can't play CDM, then get Pablo Garcia. And if Florentino wants his Galactico like as.com was talking about today, he can get Joaquin or C. Ronaldo or someone else in late August.

PLEASE !!!

actually, loan Samuel to Inter wouldn't be a bad idea. we could call him back in January (like we did with Portillo) if we need him, and we wouldn't lose him.

the other news seem stupid: why, oh why, we would want more CBs if (supposedly) we want to get rid of one (Samuel) to get Ramos?

i think Guti is going to leave. :nape:

Guti would leave Real for an English club

MADRID, June 17 (Reuters) - Real Madrid midfielder Guti says he would prefer a move to an English club if he leaves the Primera Liga side.

"I am keen to start a new chapter in my life. I have always said that if I leave Real I would love to play in England. The Premier League would be ideal," Guti told sports daily Marca on Friday.

The 28-year-old made 18 starts for Real last season but, after the arrival of coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo in December and Denmark midfielder Thomas Gravesen in the January transfer window, he spent more time on the bench.

Since the end of the season Guti has made little secret of his unhappiness at being reduced to the role of substitute, behind the higher profile players at the club.

"The club know it is my wish to leave and they know we have to find a solution that is good for both parties, whether inside or outside the club," Guti added.

"All I want is to play more. If I have to stay I will do it without problems, but I think the time has come to move on to progress."

Guti, who has a contract with Real till 2008, is not alone in being unsettled at the club. Portuguese winger Luis Figo has also expressed his unhappiness at being relegated to the substitute's bench.

Real finished second in the table, four points behind fierce rivals Barcelona.

it's very hard to say, because it was a very weird match. overall, he was ok, he almost scored one goal, but like i said, the game was too weird to say anything about any player... Banfield was great in the second half, and River had a lot of luck.

yes, but imo, he plays better as second striker than as LW.

Solari, Guti, Figo, Portillo and Owen could leave, so we would need another offensive player. we have been only linked with defensive players lately (Ramos, Diogo, Cris, Lugano, Gerrard, Garcia...)

I'm really gonna enjoy seeing Robinho at Madrid. His play against Greece yesterday was fantastic.

On my #1 club however, I'm hoping that Facchetti bites on the 18 Million Euro deal for Solari and Samuel. Adding those two would cement Inter's already strong (surprsingly the best in the 2nd part of the Serie A season) defence. Solari would also be a wonderful addition. I'm sure he could make things happen on the left.

On Real, I wouldn't be too shocked to see Guti leave. He simply won't get more playing time, especially with Lux as coach. It's time he's sold for his sake I guess. Though to Roma? Nah. He should go to the EPL. But I wonder if a major club would move for him.

Diego has like 10 caps(LINK: he had 6 caps after Copa America final last year (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/soccer/07/24/bc.sport.soccer.copa.brazil.penpix/)), meanwhile Robinho has already 4 (Hong Kong, Paraguay, Argentina, Greece), and he will get 7 if Brazil reach the CC final :jap:. At the beginning, Diego was the star of Santos... because Robinho was only 17 (the 4 'stars' were Luis Fabiano, Diego, Elano and Robinho), but in the South American U.23 Tournament (Olympics qualifiers), Robinho was the star of the team by far, ahead of Diego. And believe me, i'm 100% sure of that, because that tournament was played in my country :ewan:

i agree with selling guti, only for his sake..the guy's too good to rot on the bench, same with solari. If a player of that caliber wants to leave to get playing time, i can't knock him.

there's an article on skysports saying guti wants to go to england and mentions interest from arsenal, liverpool. Also, Juventus and Milan are rumored to be after him.

once again you need to know your facts. It doesn't matter how old Ribinho was because he and Diego are as old as each other.(19-20) Plus of course Fabiano has more caps. Leading Brasil in scoring 2-3 years in a row will allow you to have alot of caps for your country. Plus he's also older (24), meaning more time to acquire those caps for Brasil. And one more thing in which you were wrong in ----> LUIS FABIANO NEVER PLAYED FOR SANTOS

But don't get me wrong, Both Diego and Robinho are huge talents that will definately be starting or featuring for Brazil in the future. But Like Diego Robinho WILL DEFINATELY NEED AT LEAST 1 YEAR TO FULLY ADAPT. don't forget Diego had some trouble (even though i rate his season to be a positive one) playing in a much inferior portuguese league

does in spanish league Reserve team can promote to Primera Division? Because this is shock for me, that Malaga B play in Segunda. When, for example, in 2005/06 Malaga relegate to Segunda, and Malaga B still play in Segunda Division, does these teams play beetwen they in 2006/07 season? In Poland reserve team can play only in 3rd league, not higher.

sadly, no :(. For example, if Malaga is relegated to Segunda, Malaga B would be automatically relegated to Segunda B (unless they get the promotion to Primera in the same season. in that case, Malaga would be in Segunda and Malaga B in Primera).

But it would be a very rare case. The main goal for B teams in Segunda is to gain experience and not be relegated to Segunda B ;). Besides, they can't play in Copa del Rey.

Having two Real Madrids would not be fair to the B team or the first team...I mean, for one, the first team won't be able to call up the young players to their squad for games(well at least they shouldn't)
If they're in the same team, moving from one team to the next (from RM A to RM B) would be less of a step up or step down as the case may be since the two teams are basically on the same level

It doesn't hurt 'B' players being sent down...it happens everyday in MLB.

I think it's great: better skilled youth players, and the feeling that they're not far from being on the First team should encourage them to improve and hopefully we can have the next wave of: salgado's, casilla's, guti's ect.

I'll be praying that Madrid 'B' goes to Segunda Division. :rockman:

Carlos Diogo's Dad says Real deal is Close:

The father of River Plate winger Carlos Diogo admits his son is close to signing for Real Madrid.

The Uruguay international comes off contract at River next month and his agent, Paco Casal, is in talks with Real about a move to Madrid before the start of the new season.

Victor Hugo revealed to AS yesterday: "There's been nothing concrete yet, but, if it is true, it would be a very great step.

"Real are one of the best clubs in the world and it is always important to be mentioned with them in some way. Carlos is very comfortable at River, but also he is hoping for an opportunity to travel to such heights."

Hugo added: "I can promise Real Madrid fans that if Carlos joins, they will see a very passionate player. He has always been committed to the colours he has played for. He will give everything ... and then some more."

Lugano reveals get-out close for Real Madrid move

Sao Paulo defender Diego Lugano has revealed his contract carries a get-out clause which would smooth any summer switch to Real Madrid.

The Uruguay international is a target for Real and told Marca: "I have a contract until 2007 and right at the beginning of season they fixed it to be more helpful to me. I have a clause that allows me to go if I have a superior offer, in others words nothing can block me from going to a bigger club.

"Here they want me, but I know clearly that the great difference is made in Europe."

Lugano qualifies for an Italian passport courtesy of his father and added: "I don't know anything concrete, only what I've read in the papers.

"I'm very proud that such a great club is interested in me. My agent has told me to concentrate on my football and he will let me know about an offer once it is made.

"I know I have to join a bigger club in Europe to fulfill my potential."

i hope we get some signings wrapped up this week.

Mourinho joins Owen race

Chelsea are ready to scupper Manchester United's attempts to sign striker Michael Owen after failing to lure Samuel Eto'o to Stamford Bridge.

It had been reported that the England striker was set to join Sir Alex Ferguson's side after resigning himself to being shown the door at Real Madrid, just one year after he arrived at the Bernabeu from Liverpool.

However, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is thought to have turned to the 25-year-old, who has also been linked with former club Liverpool, after missing out on Barcelona striker Eto'o.

Reports suggested that Mourinho had seen a £30m offer for the Cameroon international rejected and will turn to Owen as he looks for a proven Premiership goalscorer, after seeing overseas signings Mateja Kezman and Didier Drogba struggle in the Premiership last season.

SALGADO EYES FUTURE SUCCESS

Real Madrid defender Michel Salgado admits the time has come for the club to start winning titles again.

Two seasons without a major trophy is almost unthinkable for Madrid, especially considering the money spent on their 'galacticos' in recent times.

However, the club is planning a summer dedicated to rebuilding the squad and the promising second half to last season means there are high hopes of silverware at the Bernabeu next campaign.

"It is going to be a hard season because there is going to be a high demand for titles," said Salgado.

"Real Madrid can't go two seasons winning nothing and I think there is going to be a big effort to balance the squad.

"We had got used to always winning and these two years have been hard for all of us. We have to be strong right from the start of pre-season because it is going to be very demanding.

"If we work hard from start to finish the titles will arrive," added the 29-year-old, who didn't want to look for excuses for the disappointments of last season.

"Those directly responsible are the players. When we win titles, it is the players who get all of the credit, well we also have to be responsible for the football that is played, although looking back maybe we didn't start out with a balanced squad.

"We played irregular football and when we started to perform, well it was too late to battle for the league title."

Looking ahead at what will be needed for next season, he said: "We need an air of renovation, not so much of players, more of our mentality.

"The team has to be focussed on the three competitions with a winning mentality that knows we are playing for Real Madrid."

VERY, VERY INTERESTING

How Was It For Gio? A Review Of Real Madrid’s Season
6/20/2005 6:52:00 AM
Well indeed it was hard being a fan of a club that so many wished would fall down. From all the power horses fans around Europe rarely do you find anyone sad for Real Madrid.
But I have to say the outcome for us was quite impressive based on our expectations and the circumstances that we started off the season with.

In my opinion we should have ended like Roma (the only club who suffered similar symptoms)

It was very blurry at the beginning Camacho coming & leaving as usual, the un-explainable purchase of Woodgate (and refusing Miltio for failure of medical tests!) setting our only defensive midfielder (cambiasso- who had an impressive first season at Inter) and buying no one to cover him. Then getting Michael Owen while we already had 3 worldwide strikers & another youngster was on loan to Fiorentina. I add to that another manager who lacked the experience to coach (Remon Garcia). So I look to that & I see how the team managed to be a contender till the end simply impressive.

Finally we have managed to get something good on the management level , I couldn’t tell if it was Perez conscious or god had mercy for Real fans, but in the middle of the season after a poor run and managing to get by the group stage in the CL along came Sacchi a well known Italian coach with experience & a CV so impressive that most the fans thought he would coach the team.

Sacchi was indeed the turning point in the season (and maybe in the following seasons too) the Bold Italian veteran followed his signing by Luxembourgo who also got another impressive CV as a coach in the Brazilian league matched only by big Phil Scolari (though the later is more impressive on international level) .

Luxa (as his friends love to call him) began his era with an impressive 7 minute match victory over the stubborn Real Socidad followed by a 7 games winning Streak. Made a good game against Juventus (who recently became Real Madrid European Jinx) but still the team fell short as repercussion after/during Juve games in la liga decreased their chances of ever catching Barca .

When all voices were starting to doubt Lux ability along came Barca game which restored the Merengues pride a very impressive performance & a new introduction to the 4-3-3 followed by an unbeaten run till the end of season.

For some this was still disappointing for Madristas it is a good start when you look at the situation Real faced with Barca in an impressive form they only ended 4 points behind & 15 points over the next team.

No doubt that Barca deserved to win for there performance all over the season, but the undermining for Real Madrid is not fair too. Get any team to face the same thing & they will hardly by in the bottom table (as Roma did).

Lux proved beyond doubt that he is not a coach to be bullied around by players his stance with Ronaldo & Figo was quite essential to take the pampering out of players always had from the president. Gravesen was a very good call at last (since 3 years) we buy someone the team needs not someone who sale more shirts.

The improvement & lux touch in the team was witnessed by many, Becks started to move more & get involved in the game, Ronaldo went back to scoring after losing tons of weight , Raul reached an impressive form by the end of season , Pavon who was Madrista worst nightmare suddenly became solid like a Rock. Not to mention the Great Casillas

I do think it is a fair season for Real & very impressive for the fans , there is a difference felt in the team & there is a change even now finally we are optimistic(the fans) about the names mentioned as prospect movers to Real Madrid we just hope Perez would continue leaving everything for Sacchi & Lux then watch Real Madrid next season

Gio

....and the 2nd one:

How Was It For Saif? A Review Of Real Madrid’s Season
6/20/2005 7:06:00 AM
• What kept you going throughout the season? Great (or at least encouraging) results? Hope that things could only get better? Or simply blind loyalty? Loyalty to the team that I have always supported is what made me stand by my team in this poor season. The team that I found the true football in, the team which gives spectacle and trophies. But the wake-up of the team in the recent weeks is really encouraging.
• What were the best moments of the campaign – for example, the best performance / result?
Beating Barcelona (4-2) was really incredible, especially when everyone wrote Real Madrid off the Spanish League title, in addition to the fine form of the team since the appointment of Vanderlei Luxemburgo

• And what were the worst?
The other side of ‘El Classico’, the (3-0) defeat in the ‘Camp Nou’, in addition to the Garcia Remon’s era in which the team looked lifeless and desire less.

• Who was your team’s best player of the season?
Iker Casillas with no doubt. His great reflexes and saves kept Real Madrid’s hopes alive, one of the best seasons for the Real Madrid-made goalkeeper.

• And the worst?
Our Galacticos! They haven’t reached their potential, never played at the highest level, we can not blame the ‘Pavones’ if the ‘Zidanes’ did not deliver.

• How did you rate the performance of your manager/coach?
Unlike any other team, Real Madrid got three coaches in charge throughout this season! Vanderlei Luxemburgo might be given (8.5/10), He restored the team’s spirit, he changed a lot of tactical things, and the team looked more organized in his era. Good job in his first season in European soccer.

• And the squad?
Iker Casillas [8]
Salgado 7
Walter Samuel 6.5
Ivan Helguera 6
Roberto Carlos 7
Thomas Gravesen 7.5
David Beckham 6
Zinedine Zidane 6
Luis Figo 6
Michael Owen 7
Raul 6
Ronaldo 7.5

• What was your side’s goal of the season?
As an individual effort, I liked Zidane’s goals against Sevilla (2nd leg) and against Espanyol in Santiago Bernabue.
In the collective side Ronaldo’s first goal against Real Sociedad in ‘Anoeta’ was magical, You can find everything in football in it !

• And what was the biggest howler during the campaign
Figo being benched against Barcelona, in his last ‘Classico’ probably. It was hard to see him not starting in “Figo’s match”. And having Woodgate debut-less.

• Who were the best opponents your team came up against?
Barcelona in the first Classico of the league, and Sevilla in the 2nd leg of the league.

• And the worst?
Albacete I think. They surrendered easily though they got a great names like Momo & Mark Gonzalez. And another games.

• How did the media generally treat your club?
Real Madrid is always under the media pressure, the media treated us fairly, praised the team when they deserved, and criticized it when the criticism is needed.

• What was the biggest slice of luck that went your way during the season?
I can not remember any match won by Real Madrid’s luck! But the defeat and the 1st game against Sevilla which caused Garcia Remon’s sacking, We were lucky to lose it!

• And what was the most outrageous in justice?
The 3 shots in the wood-work against Juventus, two in the first leg by Raul & Samuel, another one in the 2nd leg by Ronaldo.

• Looking ahead to next season, who would you most like to see arrive at your club?
Joaquin Sanchez, the best right winger in the world and Figo’s heir. In addition to the great Michael Ballack and the talented Sergio Ramos. May I dream about Xabi Alonso?

• And which person(s) would you most like to see leave it?
I would like to see David Beckham back in the English premier league, he never coped with Spanish life and Spanish La Liga.

• Overall, how did the campaign measure up to your pre-season expectations, and how did it compare with other seasons in which you’ve been following them?
Disappointing. Hugely disappointing. We expected a title at least, but we ended with nothing. A season to forget for every Madridista.

• What are you expecting from next season?
A title, It doesn’t matter what title. I dream about a ‘doblete’ Spanish League and UEFA Champions league. What I want is to celebrate winning a title next season. ‘Copa del rey’ is not bad at all.

According to A.S. which surprisngly makes sence with some of the line-ups that Luxa is proposing for next year:

--------------------Iker Casillas---------------------
---------Sergio Ramos------Jonathan Woodgate------
--Michel Salgado--------------------Roberto Carlos---
--------------------Pablo Garcia---------------------
----David Beckham-----------------Carlos Diogo------
-------------------Zinedin Zidane--------------------
--------Ronaldo--------------------Robinho----------

- I don't thik Ramos will take Samuel's job, unless we sell him...
- Gravesen will probably be in Garcia's spot...stupid AS
- Diogo as LM? can he play left footed???
- It hurt not to see Raul there but he can be our Owen
- Like I though Owen won't be with us...
- The "star signing" of the summer, Robinho starts...I guess he could.

Every week I come up with a different one, here's this weeks:

--------Casillas----------
----Samuel-Woodgate----
Salgado----------R.Carlos
--------Gravesen--------
-Beckham-------Diogo???-
---------Zidane----------
--Ronaldo-----Robinho---

Nice :)

I've seen Samuel play again yesterday for Argentina - he played the same as for Real Madrid - not really good.
He not only did mistakes and fouls that caused a goal, he got booked again - meaning he is suspended for the next game and looked slow and got overrun times and times again.

I hope Woodgate gets fit and good, aswell as getting Ramos then we could sell Samuel because honestly he's not worth his money here.

My Lineup (altough I don't know much about Robinho and if he can play Left Wing) - otherwise swap him with Zidane or Raul.

--------Casillas----------
----Ramos-Woodgate----
Salgado----------R.Carlos
--------Gravesen--------
-Beckham-------Robinho---
---------Zidane----------
--Ronaldo-----Owen---

Man, why does AS continue with lineups like that, when whats working for Madrid is getting back to basics? Silly arsed rags

Looking at those lineups, and seeing Diogo on your left, does anyone know what has happened with the Joaquin/Reyes to Real Madrid situations??? I know Reyes is close to a new contract, but its not a done deal yet, and I still think he could be a brilliant option with his versatility in Madrid. Oh, and does Joaquin ever play on the left?

In any event, it seems as if all those hot names from the year, like those two, and Mascherano have suddenly disappeared. I know you all have Robinho wrapped up, but does anyone else want any of these players as well?

who would buy him now?? (woodgate) he hasn't played in a year or longer and is still considered injured. we can't sell him if we tried.

i was under the impression that diogo was a defender. why has AS put him as LM? i dont think raul, robinho or zidane are in their right positions out at left wing. Here's my lineup:
---------------iker------------------
Salgado---Ramos---Samuel---R.Carlos (woody[if fit]/ivan/ravon)
-------------Gravesen--------------- (P.G)
Becks----------------------FIGO!!!---
-------Zidane/owen/robinho----------
---Raul-------------------Ronaldo----

i put Zidane/owen/robinho there to deal with owen being sold or robinho starting. and yes LUIS FIGO IS THE ONLY LEFT WINGER WE HAVE. I HOPE THEY DONT SELL HIM!!! (unless we get C.RONALDO) No, Joaquin is a RWM.

i don't know why i have the feeling that next season we will fail again. all the rumors indicate that we will have a weaker team:

Guti > P. Garcia
Solari > Diogo
Helguera > S. Ramos
Samuel > Woodgate
César > Diego Lopez

i don't give a **** if the new players are younger or older than the ones we have: the important thing is that they're worst than the one we're willing to sell... and the only 'big' signing (Robinho) can play in two positions we have very well covered. Even the rumors about another 'galactico' are for players we don't need, at all (Gerrard and Henry).

only 2 weeks for the beginning of the preseason and we have the incredibly amount of ZERO signings (and 1000000000 rumors).

based on the probables 'in' & 'out', my prediction is: 3th place in La Liga (with luck... Valencia and Barça look very strong), out of CL in second round and no titles in the whole season. :nape:

just a reminder: in 2003 summer, we sold a lot of players, some benchers and some starters, and we bought only one 'galactico'. if someone can't remember how that season ended, it's a lucky guy.

Common sense = Inter/Juve/Milan pay us a lot of money to buy Samuel = We sell Samuel = big bussines for us, since we sell a unsuccesful player here for a lot of money

Common sense: Liverpool would pay a lot of money for Raul = we sell Raul = big bussiness for us, since we sell a player who was crap the last 2 seasons  does that sound wise??

Helguera + Samuel -> one of the best defensive duos of La Liga... and Florentino is willing to sell them both* :kader:

Woodgate + Ramos -> injury-prone + young 'prospect' = another season without titles :jambo:

i prefer to keep Guti, Solari, Owen, Samuel and Helguera rather than buy Robinho, Pablo Garcia, Diogo and Ramos. we need young blood, but not a weaker team.

*Helguera wants to renew his contract now, but the club said 'wait until November'. why? because in November they will know if Ramos and/or Woodgate are as good as Helguera, and if any of them can replace him, the club would sell Ivan in January. mark my words :jambo:

btw, Santos has just reject our 15m offer for Robinho. They said "pay his clause": 50m dls. .

Rival offers for Real Madrid's Helguera:

The uncle and agent of Real Madrid defender Ivan Helguera has revealed several offers from European clubs have arrived for the Spanish international.

Juanjo Helguera admits Ivan is disappointed by Real's insistence that no new contract talks be held until November. The defender's current deal expires next summer.

"We spoke with Real Madrid and we decided to postpone his contract negotiations," Helguera Sr told Radio Marca. "To me it seemed correct and for Iván it is not bad either.

"If the offer is good and we reach an agreement we will continue and if not, the world will not end."

He added: "They are following Ivan in Europe and several clubs want to sign him."

Osasuna demand Real Madrid up Pablo Garcia offer:

Real Madrid insist on paying Osasuna £3.5 million for midfielder Pablo Garcia.

The Uruguay international's agent, Paco Casal, met with Real and Osasuna officials yesterday to discuss his client's proposed move to Madrid.

Osasuna president Patxi Izco is unhappy with the fee on the table and rates Garcia at £6 million.

"Our first intention is to not sell Pablo Garcia, because he has become the flag of our team and one of the most valuable players," said Izco.

"Nevertheless, we are being forced to negotiate by the situation that has been created. Madrid is a too sweet a caramel for any player, and this includes Pablo Garcia.

"For Osasuna, if he leaves, it will be like losing a son."

yeah but he ll have to handle a HUGE pressure...

Exactly. Besides he must be apreciated by the Coach. Becouse i remember what big european clubs do to young southamerican players. I remember saviola, riquelme.

And he must be prepared to the european defenders...europe is hard...

The hardest tournament in America is the Libertadores, and he didnt did well in the Libertadores...

In europe they want big centerfowards.

The Samuel-Solari deal has reported been said to be finalized Monday or Tuesday, but I'm thinking more like late in the week after the Confederations Cup is done. Then the Robinho deal will happen.

Or in a worse case scenario both deals will be dragged out all summer. I'll f*cking shoot someone if that happens... no joke. :jambo:

How can you loan/sell Samuel? Unbelievable.

The only reason I can see is that you'll get some kind of option to buy Adriano next year. Even that, I still wouldn't let go of Samuel. He was just starting to get the hang of it.

AC Milan offered Shevchenko to Real Madrid

It's been revealed Real Madrid were once offered AC Milan striker Andrei Shevchenko.

Agent Ernesto Bronzetti says Real president Florentino Perez was offered Shevchenko just before he was able to prise Ronaldo away from Inter Milan.

"I was on the boat on the coast of Ibiza with Real President Florentino Perez and Rossoneri Vice-President Adriano Galliani when Shevchenko was offered to us," revealed the consultant.

"The striker was coming off a difficult period of his career, but Perez preferred to sign Ronaldo instead."

Bronzetti also revealed Real Madrid would never consider selling either Ronaldo or David Beckham.

"It's all talk! Ronaldo and David Beckham are the only players they will never sell because they are talented and precious commodities on a media level."

Im glad we got Ronaldo instead. And i would of thought Raul is also a player Real will never sell.

Santos Demand $30 Million-Plus For Robinho
6/25/2005

Santos have stated that they want more than double Real Madrid's latest offer of $15million if they are to allow star player Robinho to leave the club this summer.

The Brazilian giants are determined not to let Real Madrid to sign any of their players on the cheap, after the Spaniards were linked with Ricardinho, and have stated that the opening offer is nowhere near acceptable.

Rumours in the Spanish press suggested that madrid had reached a deal with Robinho, but Santos moved quickly to deny that and even hinted that they believe that the player will be with them until after the 2006 World Cup Finals.

Coach Alexandre Gallo compared the deal with Madrid's $28 million purchase of Argentinian defender Walter Samuel last summer.

"It would be difficult to sell the world's best player for less than that," he said.

Santos president, Marcelo Teixeira, confirmed that no offer had been accepted and any deal could only be announced once the Brazilian outfit had the cash in their bank account.

"I saw that Real Madrid have announced that they have reached an agreement with Robinho," he explained.

"But the club that wants to make an announcement saying that they have bought the player will only be able to do it once we have in our bank account the money that we have valued for the player and the money that they have to pay for the remainder of his contract."

REAL MOVE FOR LAMPARD

Frank Lampard's agent has confirmed that Spanish giants Real Madrid have made a move to sign the England midfielder.

Real have reportedly offered £20m, as well as winger Santiago Solari and unsettled striker Michael Owen for Lampard, which has been rejected by the Stamford Bridge outfit.

"It is very flattering for Frank to be wanted by a club as big as Real," his agent Steve Kutner was quoted as saying by the News of the World.

"But Frank has just had an incredible season at Chelsea and as long as they want him he will give everything to help them win more and more trophies," he added.

Lampard was the major driving force behind Chelsea's demolition job on their Premiership opposition last season and he was voted the Football Writers' Footballer of the Year in May.

The 27-year-old has also become a first choice for Sven-Goran Eriksson and will be a major influence on England's 2006 World Cup bid.

We wont get him but it would be amazin if we did, allthough id miss watchin he play in the Premiership.

Madrid are being useless this summer, the prospect of Robinho and Henry playing together isn't really that comforting for United fans. Madrid have to stop acting like cheap bastards and just make the damn bid. So far its been all Marca talk no Madrid action, letting Wanker quickly close in on this kid while they're still speculating.

Actually, I think he would be more of a money grubbing cvnt for staying at Chelsea ;)

He realizes he is at a club where if he performs as he has been he could demand an absolutely riddiculous wage. The lure for many who moved to Chelsea, especially in the first year when nothing had been demonstrated on the pitch, was the huge wage they got offered. Since Roman's arrival I believe Frankie has been extended as has JT and, if memory serves, they are head and shoulders the two top wage earners. Everyone else is still getting a handsome fee, though: sorry for not being able to quote actual numbers

The lure of Real Madrid is obvious: Its Real Madrid. But when you have that option, complicated by a switch to another country and league, versus helping lead an up and coming, financially boundless team where you make silly money every week, well, then you can see it would be tough to want to move, even to Madrid
