I have too agree with you on Rojas.

At times he did really well, and did not look nervous at all. Made some clear plays, and finished them with some good set passes (though Borguetti f-them all up).

I was actually very happy to see the team get their heads up, after all the pressure from the last game. They even looked more united than before the USA game. That should shut a couple of mouths.

What can I say, he has a solid place in WC squad.

With him, Lucho, and Cuauh, we would had run over the U.S., no doubt.

Medina did horrible, every single time he had the ball, he made a big show and did nothing. :nape:
I don't want him starting against America now...

Zinha tries too hard, and holds the ball for too long in every clear opportunity. He needs to be the player he is, and just shot the ball on goal whenever he has a chance.

"Bofo" for the next game?
First let's see how he does in El Super Clasico.

He did great for his debut, he didnt try to do too much and made some great passes. (Y) Forget about Pity, Mendez and Diego Martinez... just leave Rojas there. Even if he is a pinche americanista. :p
Ahaha I knew you we're gonna say somethink like that. That "pinche americanizta" you're talking about is our RB for the next 2 WC's...looks like we got that spot fixed.

With Rojas as the starter, your boy Mendez probably lost his chance at his first WC, "pinche diablo".... :ewan:

Anyways, do you guys think Lavolpe will call up players like Blanco, Bautista, Franco to the game against Guatemala...I think since Guatemala still has a chance to qualify, Racardo should take the best team just to see how the "1st team" would perform in a game that is so important to the other country.

Well, if u subtract the ones America either stole, payed for or were given... we'd end up with about the same. ;)

And I REALLY hope Guille and Cuau are called up. I'm not too concerned about Bofo, but Guille and Cuau are a must.

Holy sh*t, the debut of Franco and he scores the game to tie it 1-1. Then Kikin Fonseca (who I though he always had a game like this in him to solidize his spot for the WC) had "Golden Sombrero" IN SOCCER TERMS. (H) ...btw, in 18 minutes. OMG, 4 goals in 18 minutes IN the 2nd half. :taz:

Who said Dos Santos would play? Ronaldo was in the USA '94 Champion Brazil team yet he never played. I highly doubt Cuau will be called, after what he did. Bofo is a good choice, I will personally call Castro from America and De Nigris from Pumas.

So according to this website Lavolpe has 13 or 15 (depending on Chava Carmona and Aaron Galindos suspension been reduced to 6 months) sure players for the World Cup. This means that there are stil 10 or 8 spots remaining for the final World Cup list. As you can see from the Pre List Lavolpe did not name el Guille Franco. IMO Lavolpe is only going to take 1 naturalized player to the World Cup, either Zinha or guille franco. If he does take both players, i am quite sure and positive that only 1 of the 2 will be a starter.

Who ever would like to finish the list by naiming 10 or 8 players they would take or are fighting for the spots that are left for the World Cup is welcomed to do so....

It seems that for Mexico's game on November 16 in Houston the national team of Bulgary is going to take their best players of their nation. I think this will be a very interesting game.

Mexico lost 3 - 0 to Bulgaria.....

No more Daniel Osorno or Juan Pablo Rodriguez, but especially Guillermo Franco. As i see it Franco is not a player for the Mexican national team, the jersey is to heavy on him (le pesa la camiseta) he is trying to play like he plays in Monterrey by carrying the team all by himself but he just can't. If Lavolpe takes him to the World Cup, he can't be a starter maybe an interesting substitute when the circumstances call for him. The best Mexican player was Carlos Salcido IMO. Instead of Franco Lavolpe needs to call Cuahtemoc but since I don't see this happening any time soon, the next best option is el Bofo Bautista....

Este será el segundo juego del Tri en el 2006 y el segundo también en tierras estadounidenses.

Antes, México se enfrentará a Noruega en el Monster Park de San Francisco.

Los organizadores del juego están tratando de que, si Cuauhtémoc Blanco entra finalmente en los planes de Ricardo Lavolpe, como lo anunció ayer, acuda a este encuentro.

La última vez que México se presentó en Los Ángeles y en el Memorial Coliseum fue el 10 de julio de 2005 cuando se impuso por 4-0 a su similar de Guatemala.

México está ubicado en el Grupo D de la Copa del Mundo Alemania 2006 como cabeza de serie al lado de Portugal, Angola e Irán. Corea el Sur está encasillada en el sector G, junto con Francia, Suiza y Togo.

I'm about 90% sure I'll go to that game vs. South Corea, Cuauhtemoc Blanco might be on Lavolpe's list by then (feb. 15th).

btw, there is a HUGE South Corean community in Los Angeles so I expect good stadium atmosphere. Loud.

Seriously though, I'm getting tired of these players (Maza in particular)...they obviously aren't working for him and he doesn't wan't to realize it. The kid (20 yrs old) Landin scored 3 goals in their murder over Tecos last week. He seems like a special player, all the tools to be a great goal scorer.

He's been playing pretty poorly as of late as well, so the fact that he wasn't on the list isn't surprising to most people.
Why?: "Chiquis" Garcia (Atlas) Family, that's the ONLY reason he still has a chance of making the team, what a joke. I can honestly live with Suarez on the team, he's looked solid that past couple of games he's played. It's a similar situation to the one Aguirre was faced with last WC with Garcia Aspe. As for Mendez, Rojas or Diego should be there instead.

MÉXICO, D.F. -- La Final del Mundial Sub 17 ante Brasil, podría ser la última vez que Giovani Dos Santos haya vestido el uniforme de México. La razón, el trato recibido de la Federación mexicana hacia él y su hermano Jonathan. El padre de los juveniles, Zizinho Dos Santos, alza la voz y advierte que sus hijos no jugarán más con el Tricolor, por lo menos no en selecciones menores y su participación con la mayor dependerá de lo que ellos decidan cuando sean mayores de edad.

"Por el momento no (asistirán a la Selección), vamos a cerrar las puertas para México ahora. Tenemos que estar tranquilos, pensar muy bien y tomar la mejor decisión para su futuro, ver las cosas claras. Puede ser que esté en México, pero ahora no irán más. No nos pueden tratar como unos tontos, estamos muy enojados", sostuvo el brasileño, en referencia a cómo se comportado con ellos la FMF.

"Giovani y Jonathan ya no asistirán a ninguna convocatoria de México, ellos elegirán a los 18 años qué Selección quieren, es decir, esto no tiene que ver con la Selección Mayor, ellos decidirán", aseguró el padre de los jugadores.

En la decisión pesó, según explico Zizinho, el comportamiento de la FMF en la más reciente convocatoria de Jonathan a la Sub 17. El punto que molestó fue la forma en que lo dejaron fuera del equipo, previo a disputar la MIC CUP en España, pues al juvenil le avisaron hasta llegar al aeropuerto de Barcelona, que no estaría con el grupo para disputar el torneo, y por ello debía devolver su uniforme, maleta y demás cosas de la Selección.

"No puede ser que a Jonathan, hasta llegando a Barcelona le digan que no va a ir al torneo, que no le expliquen desde antes por qué no le dan viáticos como a los otros muchachos, y enfrente de todos, y le pidan que se quite los pants de la Selección", sostuvo el ex jugador del América.

Para Zizinho, el trato recibido por parte de los federativos hacia 'Giova' también pesó en la decisión, pues asegura que ellos siempre han 'correteado' a la Federación para viajar a México y no han recibido los premios prometidos tras ganar el Mundial infantil.

"Giovani está muy molesto, le dolió muchísimo, porque ya le habían hecho otras cosas a él, como estar llamando a la Federación para que te den los boletos y te confirmen pocas horas antes del viaje", concluyó.

Lozano was the one that surprised the most, I really thought that Mendez would go since he hardly played in any of the past couple of games. I know that we've 3 guys who can basically play in that position but he's very good in dead ball situations, tough break for him.

Can people please stop crying over friendlies. U guys are making it seem as if we are world powers that win all our friendlies. Remember, we have lost to El Salvador. :ewan:

And its not a let down by any means, we're gonna choke again, so whats the problem? Why are people expecting more? Id love for more but playing eith ARG or HOL in the next round (assuming we make it out of the group) wont be a picnic.

I wouldn't expect much from these friendlies, Lavolpe has been trying some new things tactics-wise and we're not going to go all out in these games and risk injury. I think we'll be alright in the group although even then I have some doubts. If we manage to get past the round of 16, I'd be more than happy.

Yeah, really. I'm hoping since they played pretty lackluster versus Netherlands, that they show up kinda slow on us. Yeah, I know, pretty wishful thinking. If we win, it'll be nothing short of the biggest upset thus far. But how we've played it looks really, really hopeless.

I guess knowing that we have a slim-to-none chance of winning will make it a lot easier to take. I remember last World Cup I was pissed for days when Mexico got disqualified.

Oh well, it's a lot easier to watch the games as a neutral. There's two more days of good games before it's our time. I can't say I'm much looking forward to it, heh.
