ManU2000 06-09-2005, 06:02:AM anybody know the list of "convocados" for the Panama game... Pual, Beto, Shyru? Same squad as the US game, it wouldn't make sense to call up a new squad when the game is on Wednesday.
jimorrizon 06-09-2005, 07:14:AM same squad except Duilio Davino :nape: :nape: :nape: for 2 accumulated yellows....
ronnifan9 06-09-2005, 07:56:AM same squad except Duilio Davino :nape: :nape: :nape: for 2 accumulated yellows....Thank God. so who's on the LCB? I'd like to see Gonzalo Pidena in that spot.
Support Lavolpe or DIE!!!. :)
ManU2000 06-09-2005, 03:47:PM I heard Pavel might be back for this game and Osorio might play as well. As long as Davino and Maza aren't there, its all good.

Nos vamos al Mundial (English) We'll see you in Germany next year....
ronnifan9 08-09-2005, 08:21:AM Grades:
San Oswaldo: 10, what is he's supposed to do? They ain't shootin'
Rojas: 8, I think we found our RB (Carmona) that we're missing...
Marquez: 9, he scored. :D
Maza: 6, what? he didn't do anything.
Salcido: 8, I can't waint till I see him in Europe :lui:
Pineda: 7, he's under the Morales shadow as the LWM.
Pardo: 9, second best player tonight
Zinha: 7, you're supposed to create...so create. ok
Perez: 7, toda via le peza la playera but by the WC he's gonna be an integral part.
Morales: 7, correle guey...ay te va!
Borgetti: 7, one really horrible play...one great execution of a PK
Fonseca: 7, fresh air
Next convocatoria I hope to see:
"Dios" Cuauh, "Guille" Franco, "Bofo" Bautista
...these guys could all have hatricks in one game. (6)
Vamos Lavolpe, forget you bitterness with Cuauh and Bautista and just call up Guille since you pretty much admitted it (Franco's call-up).
--------------------Sanchez-------------------- (Ochoa) (Corona)
---------------------Osorio---------------------
----------Marquez-------------Salcido---------- (Maza)
-Rojas----------------------------------Lozano- (Mendez, Pineda)
----------------Pardo------Torrado------------- (Morales, Arellano)
------------------------------------------------ (Zinha, Perez)
-------------Franco-----------Blanco----------- (Baustista, Medina)
---------------------Borgetti------------------- (Fonseca)
...this would get us sooo far.
Shiryu 08-09-2005, 11:04:AM I have too agree with you on Rojas.
At times he did really well, and did not look nervous at all. Made some clear plays, and finished them with some good set passes (though Borguetti f-them all up).
I was actually very happy to see the team get their heads up, after all the pressure from the last game. They even looked more united than before the USA game. That should shut a couple of mouths.
Pardo!
What can I say, he has a solid place in WC squad.
With him, Lucho, and Cuauh, we would had run over the U.S., no doubt.
Medina did horrible, every single time he had the ball, he made a big show and did nothing. :nape:
I don't want him starting against America now...
Zinha tries too hard, and holds the ball for too long in every clear opportunity. He needs to be the player he is, and just shot the ball on goal whenever he has a chance.
"Bofo" for the next game?
First let's see how he does in El Super Clasico.
#1 Stunna 08-09-2005, 03:00:PM I thought I was the only one that was considering Rojad as the starting RB. :D
He did great for his debut, he didnt try to do too much and made some great passes. (Y) Forget about Pity, Mendez and Diego Martinez... just leave Rojas there. Even if he is a pinche americanista. :p
ronnifan9 08-09-2005, 05:11:PM I thought I was the only one that was considering Rojad as the starting RB. :D

Ahaha I knew you we're gonna say somethink like that. That "pinche americanizta" you're talking about is our RB for the next 2 WC's...looks like we got that spot fixed.
With Rojas as the starter, your boy Mendez probably lost his chance at his first WC, "pinche diablo".... :ewan:
#1 Stunna 08-09-2005, 05:13:PM hey, not even I like Mendez. ;) :p
ronnifan9 08-09-2005, 05:17:PM Anyways, do you guys think Lavolpe will call up players like Blanco, Bautista, Franco to the game against Guatemala...I think since Guatemala still has a chance to qualify, Racardo should take the best team just to see how the "1st team" would perform in a game that is so important to the other country.
and Paul let's not even compare the titles on top of our names... (6)
#1 Stunna 08-09-2005, 05:22:PM Well, if u subtract the ones America either stole, payed for or were given... we'd end up with about the same. ;)
And I REALLY hope Guille and Cuau are called up. I'm not too concerned about Bofo, but Guille and Cuau are a must.
ronnifan9 08-09-2005, 05:26:PM Bofo is probably gonna end up subbing for Cuauh in the WC, since they playe the exact same position...both players are the most creative, best passing-strikers on their respective teams...
I can't wait for el clasico.
#1 Stunna 08-09-2005, 05:38:PM nah... I see Luis Perez being that sub. Hes better with the natl team than Bofo.
ManU2000 08-09-2005, 08:15:PM Didn't get to see the game because I was ******* working but I'll catch it tomorrow on GolTV, sounds like Rojas had a good game. Well, as long as we're qualified, Lavolpe might as well try some things out (like calling up Franco).
#1 Stunna 08-09-2005, 11:18:PM just so u know Beto... U'll be yelling sh*t to Borgetti like I did about 2 mins into the game, and u wont stop til the game ends.
ManU2000 09-09-2005, 12:04:AM I'll mutter it I guess, can't be yelling at 6 in the morning. :p
#1 Stunna 09-09-2005, 12:05:AM Just do the "Cuau" at the TV. (H)
ronnifan9 30-09-2005, 03:52:AM I'm so mad but happy at the same time. (H) Argentina is gonna regret not calling up Guille Franco when he was in his hay-day at San Lorenzo right before the 2002 WC.
The list...
Goalkeepers: Oswaldo Sánchez (Guadalajara) - Of course.
Moisés Muñoz (Morelia) - Guillermo Ochoa is in a much higher class than this clown.
Defenders: Mario Méndez (Toluca) - solid...on the bench.
Francisco Rodríguez (Guadalajara) - Maza is the worst defender of all time.
Carlos Salcido (Guadalajara) - Of course.
Ricardo Osorio (Cruz Azul) - Of course.
Hugo Sánchez (Tigres) - Jose Rivas is a better CB than him at Tigres, and only 21.
Gonzalo Pineda (Pumas) - Earned his spot.
Oscar Rojas (América) - Definitely earned his spot last game vs. Costa Rica.
Midfielders: Juan Pablo Rodríguez (Tecos) - WTF?
Gerardo Torrado (Cruz Azul) - Of course.
Israel López (Toluca) - Midget.
Jaime Lozano (Tigres) - Of course.
Carlos Morales (Tigres) - WTF? seriously though, WTF???
Luis Ernesto Pérez (Monterrey) - He's all-class just needs some more time.
Forwards: Jesús Arellano (Monterrey) - Scored 3 goals this past weekend.
Rafael Márquez (Morelia) - I guess, but he hasn't played well before.
Alberto Mediana (Guadalajara) - Tool. jk :crazyboy:
Francisco Fonseca (Cruz Azul) - Corazon y Alma.
Guillermo Franco (Monterrey) :$ ...Tonight I will have the best sleep of my life.
ronnifan9 09-10-2005, 10:23:AM Holy sh*t, the debut of Franco and he scores the game to tie it 1-1. Then Kikin Fonseca (who I though he always had a game like this in him to solidize his spot for the WC) had "Golden Sombrero" IN SOCCER TERMS. (H) ...btw, in 18 minutes. OMG, 4 goals in 18 minutes IN the 2nd half. :taz:

This Guatemalen player is probably thinking, "who the fvck is this?!?! He has #10, so me must be good. "
"Guille" dominance has begun. :shades:
josephd18 09-10-2005, 06:19:PM Who are the players you would take to Germany? Mine are:
Goalkeepers: Oswaldo Sanchez (Chivas), J. de J. Corona (Tecos) Guillermo Ochoa
(America)
Defenders: Carlos Salcido (Chivas), Rafael Marquez (Barcelona), Ricardo Osorio (Cruz Azul), Gonzalo Pineda (Pumas) Oscar Rojas (America)
Midfielders: Zinha (Toluca) Luis Ernesto Perez (Monterrey) Jaime Lozano (Tigres) Giovani Dos Santos (Barcelona, he deserves to be called) Gerardo Torrado (Cruz Azul) Pavel Pardo (America)
Forwards: Jared Borgetti (Bolton) Francisco Fonseca (Cruz Azul) Guillermo Franco (Monterrey) Alberto Medina (Chivas)
PSVFOREVER 09-10-2005, 06:23:PM Please lose from Trinidad & Tobago, we need them in the WC
hey guys, anyone know where i can get a cheap Mexico shirt with Borgetti on the back thats not ebay? they only do M or XL sizes :(
I'm a huge fan of Borgetti and i'm undecided whethere to get his name on the new Bolton shirt or the Mexico shirt (H)

Dos Santos, NO MAMES! You really think he can hold his own if he had to match up against world class CB's in the WC like Nesta, Terry ect.
he's only 16, 'member?
btw, every body except Dos Santos & Medina...the rest of the spots are still up for grabs. So basically you've named 16 solid spots, 7 up for grabs (Blanco, Bofo, Morales, ???)
josephd18 10-10-2005, 02:29:AM Who said Dos Santos would play? Ronaldo was in the USA '94 Champion Brazil team yet he never played. I highly doubt Cuau will be called, after what he did. Bofo is a good choice, I will personally call Castro from America and De Nigris from Pumas.
ronnifan9 10-10-2005, 03:19:AM Who said Dos Santos would play? Ronaldo was in the USA '94 Champion Brazil team yet he never played. I highly doubt Cuau will be called, after what he did. Bofo is a good choice, I will personally call Castro from America and De Nigris from Pumas.
De Nigris is crap. Castro would just be a joy to watch 'cause he's from America.
ronnifan9 25-10-2005, 07:00:PM Blanco WILL be in the WC...
http://espndeportes.espn.go.com/story?id=376004
Lavolpe's quote "He's already on the WC roster"...for about 2-3 years regarding his call-up they've had numerous confrontations but it looks like Ricardo knows what's best for the team.
jimorrizon 28-10-2005, 07:12:AM De Nigris, nice joke....you just made me throw up from hearing such a ridiculous ignorant statement. He was a good player in the beginning but fell and failed miserably after been called up to the national team. I think that he's ego grew too much for what his actual talent was....
jimorrizon 28-10-2005, 08:11:PM According to this website (www.mediotiempo.com) Lavolpe gave a Pre list for the 2006 World Cup during a radio interview in Mexico City today. Here is the Pre List Lavolpe talked about in the radio show.
JUGADORES PRÁCTICAMENTE SEGUROS (Players practically with a sure spot for the World Cup)
Oswaldo Sánchez
Carlos "Superman o Guerrero" Salcido
Ricardo Osorio
Rafa Márquez
Salvador "Chava" Carmona (si le reducen sanción) if his sanction is reduced
Hugo Sánchez o Aarón Galindo (si le reducen sanción) " "
Gonzalo Pineda "Gonzo"
Gerardo Torrado "Borrego"
Pável Pardo "Bebe"
Luis Pérez "Luisito"
Antonio Naelson "Sinha"
Francisco "El Kikin" Fonseca
Jared Borgetti "Desert Fox" since he is England or I would have said El Zorro del Desierto
Jaime "Jimmy" Lozano
Ramón Morales "Ramoncito"
A CONSIDERAR
Cuauhtémoc Blanco "Cuah o el jorobado de tepito"
Jesús "El Cabrito" Arellano
Adolfo "Bofo" Bautista
So according to this website Lavolpe has 13 or 15 (depending on Chava Carmona and Aaron Galindos suspension been reduced to 6 months) sure players for the World Cup. This means that there are stil 10 or 8 spots remaining for the final World Cup list. As you can see from the Pre List Lavolpe did not name el Guille Franco. IMO Lavolpe is only going to take 1 naturalized player to the World Cup, either Zinha or guille franco. If he does take both players, i am quite sure and positive that only 1 of the 2 will be a starter.
Who ever would like to finish the list by naiming 10 or 8 players they would take or are fighting for the spots that are left for the World Cup is welcomed to do so....
jimorrizon 03-11-2005, 09:28:PM It seems that for Mexico's game on November 16 in Houston the national team of Bulgary is going to take their best players of their nation. I think this will be a very interesting game.

Internazionale 09-11-2005, 05:03:PM sweet, the Mexican away jersey look freaking awesome !

jimorrizon 17-11-2005, 05:45:AM Mexico lost 3 - 0 to Bulgaria.....
No more Daniel Osorno or Juan Pablo Rodriguez, but especially Guillermo Franco. As i see it Franco is not a player for the Mexican national team, the jersey is to heavy on him (le pesa la camiseta) he is trying to play like he plays in Monterrey by carrying the team all by himself but he just can't. If Lavolpe takes him to the World Cup, he can't be a starter maybe an interesting substitute when the circumstances call for him. The best Mexican player was Carlos Salcido IMO. Instead of Franco Lavolpe needs to call Cuahtemoc but since I don't see this happening any time soon, the next best option is el Bofo Bautista....
jimorrizon 09-12-2005, 11:19:PM I think Mexico has a good group for the World Cup.
Group D:
Mexico
Iran
Angola
Portugal
IMO the last game between Mexico and Portugal is going to determine who finishes in first place....

I'm about 90% sure I'll go to that game vs. South Corea, Cuauhtemoc Blanco might be on Lavolpe's list by then (feb. 15th).
btw, there is a HUGE South Corean community in Los Angeles so I expect good stadium atmosphere. Loud.

I'm hoping he calls up Juan Carlos Medina (Atlas), Luis Ángel Landín (Pachuca), Omar Hernández (Necaxa), Mario Pérez (Necaxa), Rogelio Chavez (Cruz Azul), Jorge Iván Estrada (Sinaloa), José María Cárdenas (Atlante)...I should coach the NT.
Seriously though, I'm getting tired of these players (Maza in particular)...they obviously aren't working for him and he doesn't wan't to realize it. The kid (20 yrs old) Landin scored 3 goals in their murder over Tecos last week. He seems like a special player, all the tools to be a great goal scorer.

ronnifan9 03-04-2006, 11:13:PM He doesn't deserve to go. He was a little b*tch for not going to the Confederaciones...so there. That's what he gets, plus I honestly don't think he would've played since Lavolpe doesn't like the way he plays. Always with his back to the defense, in other words...he can't dribble past anybody no more. The Truf, I swear.
I love him at America, his time with El Tri is over though. :(
.....
As for the Roster, well...
Why?: "Chiquis" Garcia (Atlas) Mario Mendez (Monterrey)
Why NOT?: Alberto Medina (Chivas) Oscar Rojas (America)
The reason for calling up Claudio Suares is the respect he has for him (and he can still KINDA play). During the interview I think he (Lavolpe) said that, "before there was a PRINCE (Rafa Marquez) there was an EMPERADOR (Claudio Suares)"...
That put a smile on my face. :$

He's been playing pretty poorly as of late as well, so the fact that he wasn't on the list isn't surprising to most people.
Why?: "Chiquis" Garcia (Atlas) Family, that's the ONLY reason he still has a chance of making the team, what a joke. I can honestly live with Suarez on the team, he's looked solid that past couple of games he's played. It's a similar situation to the one Aguirre was faced with last WC with Garcia Aspe. As for Mendez, Rojas or Diego should be there instead.

And its not a let down by any means, we're gonna choke again, so whats the problem? Why are people expecting more? Id love for more but playing eith ARG or HOL in the next round (assuming we make it out of the group) wont be a picnic.
ManU2000 03-06-2006, 04:53:PM I wouldn't expect much from these friendlies, Lavolpe has been trying some new things tactics-wise and we're not going to go all out in these games and risk injury. I think we'll be alright in the group although even then I have some doubts. If we manage to get past the round of 16, I'd be more than happy.

skiptomylou 21-06-2006, 07:43:PM Good thing LaVolpe sent back Guardado and put in Guille. Guille's fall-in-the-box, miss-the-header, and pass-nowhere-close-to-Kikin, were really a huge lift off the bench. :nape:
ManU2000 22-06-2006, 01:03:AM Man, I'm not looking forward to the game on Saturday. I'll consider it a success if we don't lose by more than 3 goals.
How much of a joke do is it look like now that FIFA made us a seeded team?
skiptomylou 22-06-2006, 05:44:AM Yeah, really. I'm hoping since they played pretty lackluster versus Netherlands, that they show up kinda slow on us. Yeah, I know, pretty wishful thinking. If we win, it'll be nothing short of the biggest upset thus far. But how we've played it looks really, really hopeless.
I guess knowing that we have a slim-to-none chance of winning will make it a lot easier to take. I remember last World Cup I was pissed for days when Mexico got disqualified.
Oh well, it's a lot easier to watch the games as a neutral. There's two more days of good games before it's our time. I can't say I'm much looking forward to it, heh.
ManU2000 22-06-2006, 05:57:AM If we can somehow manage to pull a good performance out of our ass, I'd be more than happy. I just want to see this team play well for once, if we go down, I want us to go down with all guns blazing.
