After Nick contacted Tom about it, and Tom contacted me, Tom and I recently took upon ourselves the task of reviving the CM and FM site on the Breamster network (www.breamster.com/cfm). The site was abandoned in November last year -even the CM/FM forum over there is kind of dead- so the first thing we did was update the news (Tom is currently working on a post about that moronic Mobile version of CM, poor Tom :().

We almost completed that task, so we're targetting a new area, the FAQ, and we were wondering what you guys think needs to be in there. We felt we were likely to miss a lot of basic stuff ourselves, just because we're such veteran FM guys, so we ask you to make suggestions, basic and advanced alike. The more, the merrier.
It'll take a while for us to finish a decent piece, but we'll inform you of the result. It will be going up in this forum as well anyway. :shades:

Oh, btw, don't submit players to our database just yet, we're still working on the format and it will be wiped before we install the new one. It's not really working from the main page anyway... (H)

<edit> Thank you, Nick, for this grand opportunity. We owe our lives to you! </edit>

ruud i'm disgusted that i wasn't mentioned in providing the opportunity to take over such a fantastic site :((H)

Anyway, i reckon networking help is a must, every year people struggle with starting and joining networking games.

can I manage a national team and a club team at the same time? :( That's always asked.

God, I hate that question :(

maybe include a list of all playable leagues in the game? that's sometimes the deciding factor for someone to buy the game, as they want to see their own domestic league in the game.

How about including our FAQ to your FAQ?

Thanks guys, keep them coming!
Including our current FAQ is a good thing, but it's just not a very good FAQ, really. We're looking to do a bit more extensive work for this one. :p

thanks for this guys, Cody's question is a great idea of what we want, things that when you came on the forum at first you probably didnt know.

E.g. i had no idea you could manage a national team and a club team in 2002!

I am level on points with Barcelona at the end of the season, have a better goal difference and finish second behind Barcelona, why is this? :nape:

That's because in case of a tie for points, teams are sorted first on the results between them. Goal difference and goals scored are after that.

You can see these rules when pressing the "view" button above the league table, and selecting "rules" from the drop down menu. Under league sorting rules.

when i was playing with ajax, i was tempted to lose to my Ajax 2 team in the Amstel Cup semi final once, because i wanted to play in both the champions league and the uefa cup...if it's possible at all....

I always take control of my reserves side for Amstel Cup matches anyway.

IRL, Ajax almost played Ajax 2 in the Amstel Cup final in 2001/2002. Ajax 2 ended up losing to Utrecht on penalties in the semi-final. Ajax went on to win the final.
