coa - your objectivity is compelling ;-) Give
Becks a little credit though. When Fioretina
recently offered Man United £35 Million for
Beckham, they did so at the behest of Gabriel Batsituta who said, "He is the best crosser in the world today, with him I would easily score 10 more goals this year. Do whatever is needed to sign him". I think he is the thrid best at Free Kicks behind Mihajlovic and Rivaldo.

raoul i agree with you that he is the best crosser, but he is not the best free kick taker or corner taker. that's why i was pissed off

I've gotta go with Ramuel on this one, although I haven't seen Miahlovic that often. But being a keen Premier league follower I can definitely say beckham is brilliant, everytime he lines up a freekick opposing teams sweat. Just look at the one he took in the world cup, and the one more recently in the charity shield. Manninger is a great keeper, but even at full stretch couldn't keep it out.

O don't put them in order because I really don't know who's the best. Here are what I think , the best free-kick takers in the world.

Beckham , S. Mihaijlovic(Lazio) ,
Del Piero , Rivaldo , van Hooijdonk.

Some other good free kick-takers:

Giggs , Hasselbaink , Roberto-Carlos , Zinedine Zidane , Nilis , van Gastel.

He doesn't have to find way cuz he can do it in probably about....15 seconds. What's wrong with bringing up this thread? It's still actual

I must say that Beckham is the best overall at dead ball situations, but when it comes to free kicks, I think that Roberto Carlos' left foot is a killer

David Beckham without a doubt, I think he has already scored about 5 0r 6 freekicks this season, and he hasn't even been playing that much, And he is good in all other dead ball situations.

There are many footballers that are quite good in deadball situations. But come on Beckham this Beckham that...cut that ****in **** off!
I admit it he's probably the best now but there are so many other freekick takers that are just as good but not as "advertised"
I think roberto carlos is garbage in freekicks...justc ause he hits the darn ball with over 80mph does not make him a good freekick taker...he has about 15% or less acuracy! The records point to Mihaijlovici as being the best, no one scored more than him from dead ball situations. Zidane is pretty good as well and so is Del Piero. In his playing days so was Hagi. I also think Ryan Giggs is pretty good in freekick although he doesn't really get a chance to take any...and MEHMET SHOLL...no one mentioned him, he is fantastic. Small guy but sends the ball with such power and accuracy.

I know some wise arse is gonna say! "but how about that france 98 freekick with Carlos" well ok that was amazing...but you know ONE IN A MILLION!!!
We're talking about accuracy and results here...

Beckham is overhyped........

if he did'nt even do that , then no one would even know of him...........

coz he can't head the ball

he can't defend for toffee

he's not a consistent goalscorer

he can't dribble

he's not fast enough

...........so....he better be good at Freekicks....

Thierry Henry , Del Piero , Shevchenko , Recoba , Totti , Roberto Carlos , Zidane , Rivaldo etc etc can take some DARN good freekicks and can either defend well , be great playmakers or score goals on a regualar basis.......
