Yeah he has made it pretty clear that he will not return for us next season which absolutely sucks major donkey balls because without him in midfield we are absolutely dead :nape:

Yeah I actually agree with Se7eN on this one. Hagi, Petrescu, Zenga, Munteanu, Olaroiu all rejected to coach Steaua because they know what would happen if Becali was their boss they would basically become his little bitch so what Becali did was go for foreigners who have no idea who he is so that the could pursuade them to come be the manager of his team.

Here's whats gonna happen, Steaua is gonna have a poor game one day and at the half Becali will tell Protasov to sub out the players that he thinks should be subbed out if Protasov refuses (bye bye) but if he does what Becali tells him well then he will become his bitch and we will start getting these types of results again:

Steaua didn't have sponsors at all before the 1989 season. We started to have them on our kits then and still had them 3 years ago but our last two kits have been sponsor-less.

I really liked that Adidas kit, but the Nike one looks even better. I heard that the 2005/2006 kits will have the number in the front, not only in the back. Like the Portugal NT has. I saw this in October on TV, at "Noile Echipamente Ale Stelei Pentru Sezonul Viitor" on the news

I think the case that Radoi is involved in right now is so full of s*it and Piturca can go eat horse s*it. We played our first match today with Protasov as the manager; the game was against FK Gorica, champions of Slovakia and we came out winners 2-1. Iacob played the first 45 minutes and was apparently the most dangerous striker on the field, he got a penalty but Dica managed to miss it :rolleyes:. Anyway we were down 1-0 but our second team scored two goals in the 78th and 89th to pull out the victory.

that's because he's a very young player and he has been playing on youth teams until now. I'm glad that we are grabbing all of these young players from several youth systems around the country. A few years of developing at Steaua and they'll be magnificent players. About Iacob, I think he's great just what we needed, a tall and strong set piece striker.

Tudor was too good to be a reserve GK so I'm glad we let him go, maybe he will go to CFR Cluj where he will play and then come back to Steaua better than ever. As for Hamu he's a beast he won't get injured and he's consistent as well something that Tudor is not.

Patronul Stelei, Gigi Becali, a fost suspendat astăzi pentru 10 luni şi amendat cu 8.000 de euro de Comisia de Disciplină a FRF. Gigi Becali a fost suspendat şi amendat în urma declaraţiilor publice făcute la adresa medicului echipei naţionale, antrenorului primei reprezentative, Victor Piţurcă, şi a celoralţi oficiali ai FRF, după decizia luată de Comisie în cazul lui Mirel Rădoi. Gigi Becali a anunţat că va contesta în instanţa civilă decizia Comisiei.

4 games 4 wins for us in Austria :). We beat some team Ceske B (?) today 3-0 with a pretty young squad out there (Enescu, Litu, Nicolita all in the starting 11) anyway Dica and Cristea scored and Litu did as well, nice to see Cristea scoring again.

In turul II preliminar al Ligii Campionilor, Steaua va juca impotriva echipei irlandeze Shelbourne. Acestia au eliminat-o pe Glentoran Belfast dupa ce au invins cu 2-1 la Belfast si cu 4-1, miercuri seara, in partida retur. Meciurile echipei noastre se vor disputa pe 27 iulie - la Dublin - si pe 3 august la Bucuresti. Tragerea la sorti pentru turul III preliminar al Ligii Campionilor va avea loc pe 29 iulie.

STEAUA AVERTIZATA DE ANTRENORUL LUI GLENTORAN

Dupa meciul de la Dublin, antrenorul lui Glentoran Belfast, Roy Coyle, considera ca Steaua va avea un meci dificil la Dublin, impotriva lui Shelbourne, avand in vedere parcursul irlandezilor de pana acum in cupele europene "Nu stiu prea multe despre Steaua, dar Shelbourne a jucat bine in precedenta campanie din Liga Campionilor. Jucatorii acestei echipe vor fi foarte increzatori si nu va fi usor pentru Steaua sa obtina un rezultat bun la Dublin", a spus Coyle.

Steaua lui Oleg

Protasov pare să-i fi cîştigat pe Lovin la închidere şi pe Iacob în atac. În schimb, Ogăraru şi Neşu sînt în cădere de formă şi apărarea are de suferit pe flancuri.

Aproape 3 săptămîni de cantonament în Austria. 4 meciuri amicale cu echipe străine plus unul cu Gloria Buzău. Toate cîştigate. În fiecare meci, cel puţin două goluri marcate. Dar şi destul de multe primite. În medie, unul pe meci. Ce are în plus Steaua lui Protasov faţă de echipa lui Zenga? În primul rînd pe Lovin, un jucător care pare să-l facă uitat pe Dorinel. Apoi, pe Iacob, un adevărat vîrf de careu, după care a suspinat atîta Walter. Nu în ultimul rînd apariţia meci de meci a lui Boştină pe flancul stîng la mijlocul terenului. La capitolul minusuri, apărarea şi mai ales fundaşii de margine, Ogăraru, Neşu şi Petre Marin fiind în pierdere de viteză.

APĂRARE
Probleme mari pe flancuri
Mirel Rădoi - a jucat numai o repriză în turneul din Austria şi aproape tot meciul joi, la Buzău, însă a demonstrat că este acelaşi jucător determinant din apărarea Stelei

Ghionea - imbatabil la duelurile aeriene, dar are şi ezitări inexplicabile. Cînd face cuplu cu Rădoi are evoluţii bune, cînd joacă lîngă Baciu sau Goian are mari probleme

Ogăraru - faţă de perioada Zenga, cînd a fost unul dintre cei mai buni stelişti, acum pare prea mult preocupat de faza ofensivă şi lasă spaţii mari în apărare, aşa cum s-a întîmplat şi în amicalul cu Gloria Buzău

Neşu - şi el urcă foarte mult în atac şi are carenţe pe faza defensivă. Este mult prea agresiv, primind foarte uşor cartonaşe galbene şi roşii

Dorin Goian - nu poate fi bătut în duelurile aeriene, are probleme cu atacanţii rapizi. Nu poate emite, pentru moment, pretenţii la postul de titular

Eugen Baciu - a fost în mare formă, ex-băcăuanul fiind exact şi prompt

Petre Marin - disciplinat tactic, rămîne însă deficitar în faza de atac

Daniel Bălan - a jucat prea puţin pentru a se impune


MIJLOC
Lovin, marele cîştig
Nicoliţă - deşi dezordonat tactic, el compensează prin determinare, forţă şi condiţie fizică. Apare foarte des la finalizare
Boştină - pare să-şi fi cîştigat postul de mijlocaş stînga. Aleargă mult, extrem de tehnic şi e responsabil cu executarea loviturilor libere

Paraschiv - este play-makerul echipei, cînd Dică joacă vîrf. Are ştiinţa jocului şi ştie să închidă bine culoarele în faţa apărării. Util şi la construcţie

Lovin (foto) - marea revelaţie a perioadei de pauză. Munceşte mult, recuperează multe baloane, însă are încă probleme la construcţie în situaţii de presiune


Enescu - în ciuda vîrsei fragede (17 ani), vede jocul şi ştie cu mingea


ATAC
Dică e jucătorul-cheie
Victoraş Iacob - se impune prin calităţile fizice în duelurile directe, în special în apropierea porţii adverse. Creează spaţii pentru mijlocaşii laterali, fie prin demarcări în lateral, fie prin retragerile către centru

Andrei Cristea - viteza e principala sa calitate, iar sîngele rece din faţa porţii îl ajută să nu rateze mult

Diniţă - folosit atacant, dar şi mijlocaş dreapta, a dovedit că se poate adapta şi pe noul post. Are în continuare probleme la finalizare, dar este un excelent servant pentru colegi, impunîndu-se prin viteză, control al balonului şi înclinaţie spre joc combinativ

Nicolae Dică (foto) - folosit ca vîrf retras, este omul-cheie al Stelei. Controlează toate mingile, e responsabil cu pasele decisive şi apare des şi la finalizare


Opriţa - a jucat 45 de minute în turneul din Austria şi 20 la Buzău, nefiind încă pus la punct cu pregătirea fizică

Liţu - extrem de motivat, poate fi o posibilă variantă ca atacant de careu

Simion - vitezist şi puternic. Îi lipseşte claritatea, dar se anunţă un jucător de mare perspectivă

- Victoraş, ai scăpat de ghinionul ratărilor din meciurile amicale?
- Se pare că da. Am început mai greu, dar apoi am marcat cu Wisla, cu Gloria Buzău şi în jocul şcoală cu echipa a doua. Sînt bune şi golurile astea, pentru moral, dar eu le aştept pe cele care contează cu adevărat, cu Shelbourne, cu Dinamo în Supercupă, în campionat.


- Te prinde rolul de vîrf de careu la Steaua?
- Se spune că sînt atacant de careu, dar nu e numai atît. Postul ăsta implică mai multe lucruri. Nu poţi să stai doar în faţa porţii, la pomană.

- Simţi că te-ai acomodat deja la noua echipă?
- Eu zic că sînt pe drumul cel bun. Rămîne de văzut însă cum va fi în partidele oficiale. E o responsabilitate mai mare aici, dar vreau să să mă integrez cît mai repede.

LIGA CAMPIONILOR / Adversari
"Să nu greşim contra Stelei"
Vineri seară, Shelbourne a jucat în campionat, remizînd la Bray (2-2). Echipa lui Pat Fenlon, fără Crawley şi Baker, suspendaţi, a terminat la egalitate, 2-2, golurile lui Shelbourne fiind marcate de Heary (7) şi Crowe (11). După 18 etape, adversarii Stelei ocupă locul 3 în Irlanda, la 11 puncte de liderul Cork. Managerul Fenlon a atras atenţia: "Să nu mai facem greşeli, să eliminăm orice neglijenţă împotriva românilor!". El a folosit vineri formula Delaney - Heary, Hawkins, Rogers, Fleming - Ryan (72 Crawford), S. Byrne, Moore (74 Hoolahan), Cahill - J. Byrne (74 Harris), Crowe.
They are right in every circumstances, I can't comment anything. But we really need a good GK reserve because Hamutovski will start again to make mistakes knowing that he can't be subbed.

De vînzare!

La una dintre ultimele apariţii televizate, Gigi Becali, patronul Stelei, a readus în discuţie subiectul datoriilor pe care gruparea din Ghencea le are către Stat, aproximativ 11 milioane de dolari. "Să-mi dea Bodu 15 milioane de dolari şi să ia el echipa", a răbufnit la adresa şefului ANAF, Sebastian Bodu. Becali a întărit astfel o declaraţie acordată săptămînalului Fanatik: "Steaua costă 15 milioane de dolari, dar o dau doar unui român".

Chiar dacă afirmaţiile patronului Stelei trebuie privite cu rezervă, multe fiind "aroganţe" pentru presă, de această dată lipsa de lichidităţi l-ar putea determina pe Becali, care are şi probleme cu Parchetul, să încerce vinderea formaţiei. Mai mult, Ministerul Apărării încearcă de mai mult timp să recupereze numele, emblema şi palmaresul roş-albaştrilor.

Pînă acum, Gigi Becali nu a găsit nici un cumpărător. Deşi a încercat să-i găsească chiar şi în rîndul unora dintre investitorii de la Dinamo! Contractul de închiriere a terenului din Ghencea precum şi a anexelor acestuia, între AFC Steaua şi Armată, este valabil pînă în ianuarie 2006. La parafarea documentelor, patronul Stelei s-a obligat să respecte cîteva clauze: reamenajarea Centrului de copii şi juniori, înlocuirea scaunelor, reabilitarea suprafeţei de joc. Această ultimă condiţie a tot fost amînată, inclusiv în această vară, cînd lucrările s-au oprit chiar înainte să înceapă. Gigi Becali a solicitat o amînare din partea Armatei, "să putem juca partidele din Liga Campionilor în Ghencea". Surse militare afirmă însă că din iarnă Gigi Becali va pierde stadionul, deşi deţine proprietatea asupra ambelor "nocturne" şi a instalaţiilor care deservesc tribuna oficială.

looks good to me because from what I have read Lovin has been doing fantastic in all of the friendlies playing as the playmaker and if necessary Dica can drop back and help him. I'm just worried because as GSP said numerous times Ogararu and Nesu are not very good right now.

Anyway I'm happy with the draw, of course first things come first which is the Shelbourne return leg but I'm very confident that we will win, we were unlucky to win the first match because we missed too many chances where we should have scored and Shelbourne only posted a serious threat maybe twice the whole match. Well Steaua lost the Romanian SuperCup today :(. We lost 3-2 agaisnt our arch rivals Dinamo, we led 2-1 at halftime but in minute 68 Paraschiv got injured and we were forced to play the rest of the match in 10 men because Oleg had already made all three substitutions (in order to protect players from injury ahead of the second leg with Shelbourne). Unfortunately though Nesu and Paraschiv got injured but only Paraschiv's is serious Nesu will most likely play.

I'm not too mad about the loss because the SuperCup doesn't mean too much to me but I can't say that I'm careless, it's never good when we lose to Dinamo :(.

This is not Protasov's fault at all. The coach wanted to rest his players for the CL game rather than play them in a pointless Super Cup match, it was misfortunate that Paraschiv got injured like that.

We went through that in the UEFA Cup last year, vs Besiktas but I can't remember who was injuried, I think Ghionea, we conceeded a goal because the ref didn't pause the match. But that goal wasn't important since we were leading by 2 goals :rockman:.

It was actually all Protasov's fault. His substitutions caused Steaua to lose. Half an hour or so more of playing time would not tire a player that much. Anyways, I dont know what he was thinking, saying that he wanted to win but then doing all those uninspired subs.

if Nesu doesn't recover by game time (50% chance) then Keca will start on the left (yikes) which makes us very vulnerable down that flank unless he catches one of his good days that day. Cristea will come in and Dica will drop back to replace Paraschiv.

I am so amazed about Nicolita, he plays so well even though he is one of the youngest. You always see him running down the sides, changing from right to left, sending perfect crosses, and having an amazing speed. I reckon that if we don't sell him he may become Steaua's best player in a couple of years. As for the match, I just hope Protasov won't screw it again. We worked too hard last season so we could lose now in front of Shelbourne.

Indeed, we played against Villareal first at Bucharest, it's easier to play home at the 2nd leg, it's easier to recover the lead to get the qualification. You just don't know what is happening at Rosenborg at the moment. It's not that we got trashed in one match, but we play so extremely bad too. We have been like this the whole season, even though we have won some matches. Last Sunday we played Bodø/Glimt at home and won 2-0, after a first half that I can't find words for (second half was quite good though:p).

But we have played some really good matches too this year. But it is a crisis at RBK, and it's not looking good. :(

Anyway we kick off our domestic campaign against Arges away....

I hate Arges they always manage to steal points from us :kader: hopefully we won't be overconfident going into this match.

I actually liked Neaga but we managed to play good without him. The fans had a nice reaction when Oprita started training to get on the pitch. I hope Radoi's injury isn't bad, hope he'll return in the 2nd half. Anyway, Cristea isn't good for nothing, we don't need him in my opinion. We have Dica, Dinita, Iacob and Oprita, why would we need him? (Except the case that we are in now, with two suspended players). Iacob and Oprita would be the best couple in the attack and Dica should play on the left instead of Bostina who's slow as a snail for a winger. And Nesu is starting to play better and better as he gets more time on the pitch.

Why? Don't you want Norwegian teams to do well in European competitions? I find that rather strange since you live in Norway (which means you probably also are Norwegian too). It's very important for Norwegian football that Rosenborg (and Vålerenga) advance. Not just for those two clubs, but for every club in Norway.

Did anyone else read those articles in GSP about Protasov getting pissed at how he doesn't have as many options on the bench as he would hope? Maybe our s*it hole owner will use some of his newly aquired $35 million from the land he sold to buy us some players.

As for the match I hope that we repeat the thrashing we gave them at their stadium two seasons ago, what was it like 8-0 or something (H).........to be realistic though it's gonna be tough and I won't be happy with anything but a victory, a draw will do us no good now.

Nah in my opinion Dica just looked lost I mean what exactly was his position? Whenever he plays for the NT team he looks lost at times he is a third striker at times he's on the left at times he's on the right but he doesn't just sit in one spot and do his job, he gets very few touches and it looks like he fights to get the ball rather than receiving it from his teammates. Piturca should clearly tell him to play behind Mutu and Niculescu and try to feed them balls, I think that's how he would be most effective but whatever he is doing now needs to change before the match against the Czechs.

As for Andorra, they are a joke. They were down 2-0 and they start diving and rolling around every 2 minutes to stop the match why? so that they don't get scored on more? like it matters a loss is a loss but for crying out loud don't make the match unbearable to watch by falling down every damn minute :kader:

Actually I liked the way Tamas played he did his job very well and it's not like it's his fault that Piturca is a dumbass and refuses to call up Radoi, if anybody should be injured it should be Piturca :D.

That's the problem with our NT team we have a lot of players like Cocis that don't really know what their role is when they come to the NT and just wander around the field doing nothing and when you mix those guys up with players like Mutu, Chivu, Petre, Munteanu nothing good can come out of it. A good team has players that know what their role is when they are part of that team.

Iacob should be in the NT, he's just too class when it comes to mess up with the defenders. I bet 5 players of Andorra would be thrown in the stands if he was on the field. Nah, just kidding, he has a real talent and I'd like to see him in the NT one day. And sorry about the big mass of posts :(.

Nah Iacob isn't NT ready yet, he's only scored a few goals wait for him to have a solid season then maybe consider him for the NT, don't forget what happened to Cristea when he got called up after scoring those goals against Valencia :rolleyes:, you don't wanna throw too much confidence at a player before he truly deserves it.

I just came home from Lerkendal, watching Rosenborg against Ranheim... a friendly match, 3*25min... We won 7-1...
That sounds better than it is!! It was not very impressive. You don't have very much to be afraid of... at least not after the performance by Rosenborg today. :S

I just hope Rosenborg qualify for the CL next week, beeting you (steaua). But right now, it looks like we need some kind of miracle to happen, lets just hope that that miracle happens before the match vs. Steaua! :)

I just got done re-watching the home win in penalties over Valencia last year in the UEFA Cup (a friend of mine put it on DVD for me :jap: ). The way the crowd and the players explode at the end after Di Vaio missed that penalty still gives me goose bumps :rockman:

I'm so optimistic now, there's no stopping us from reaching the CL groups, it's gonna happen oh and DORINEL IS A LEGEND :rockman: :Bow: :Bow:

PFC CSKA Sofia and FC Steaua Bucuresti have both been fined by UEFA for racist chanting by supporters at recent UEFA Champions League home games.

Firecrackers lit
The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body has fined Bulgarian side CSKA €19,500 for the behaviour of their fans during the home leg of their second qualifying round tie against Liverpool FC, in which the match observer reported five incidences of firecrackers being let off at the stadium.

Cissé abused
The observer also noted that Liverpool striker Djibril Cissé came in for racist abuse during the latter stages of the game. The problem began with the crowd booing the player every time he received the ball, but for the final 12 minutes of the match, these boos turned into "monkey noises".

Steaua punishment
Meanwhile, Romanian team Steaua have been handed a €16,500 penalty for the behaviour of their supporters at the second leg of their Champions League second qualifying round tie against Shelbourne FC.

'Monkey sounds'
After eight minutes, it was reported that plastic bottles were thrown from the Steaua fans at the Shelbourne bench. After 80 minutes, Shelbourne substitute Ndo Joseph's arrival on the pitch was greeted by "monkey sounds" from the home supporters, which recurred every time the player touched the ball.

Appeal deadline
Steaua and CSKA both have until midnight on 22 August to mount an appeal against UEFA's decisions.

The frist truly big match of the new season (not gonna call it a derby there's only one true derby in Romania ;))

Poli Timisoara will never reach the level of the top 3 clubs in Romania - Steaua, Dinamo or Rapid. Money doesn't always matter, tradition is a fact too. It will be a very difficult match, I'm not expecting any big victory from us, I would be glad with a 2-1 or 2-0 result (in our favour) but if we get a draw it won't be that bad, we can recover. So I'm waiting for the match, hopefully Dica or Iacob will make another great match, a goal would be perfect for any of them.

Yeah I'm beginning to agree more with the idea of a draw because it is definitely going to be one of the hardest matches we play all season and then we still have the head to head games against Dinamo and Rapid where we can recover and lost points. As you will notice the logo is missing that's because these are the first pictures of the new kit and they haven't added it yet that or the numbers and names.

These make me sick, why yellow and black? Why not a light blue or even white (we won the CL wearing white kits). I hope we'll limit ourselves and only wear this kit once or twice this year. Ugh.

PS: I never got why all these teams leave their traditional colors and play in yellow, green, lime whatever kits like Liverpool, Man Utd, Barca etc..

Just look at the design of the shirt :nape:. At least I hope they'll look better with the badge, names and numbers. I'm starting to want a sponsor on our shirt more and more, Panasonic would be great (logo on our official site).

Back to the match: we didn't play to well, but I'm satisified with the result, now the pressure on Viola and Olaroiu is even bigger, but we're in top, Dinamo has a difficult match too, Rapid lost so this is a good situation instead of losing. I can say I'm happy and I like the way that Protasov controlled the game, not letting Poli to score. Now we have to concentrate for the match against Rosenborg.

The draw against Poli turned up to put as in a better situation that we expected, I hope we can get in the CL groups, 'cause it doesn't seem that we'll have many problems this season in the Divizia A. Protasov turned up to be better than anyone thought, hoping he can finish the season in the same way he started it.

I'm loving Divizia A Burger this year it just seems like anyone can pull off a surprize for the top three spots. I mean you have Steaua, Dinamo and Rapid the big three but this season Farul, Cluj, Timisoara, heck even Sportul are playing very well. It just seems like it's gonna be very tight (from 2nd place down because we'll dominate of course (H)).

Protasov is just what we needed, an offensive minded manager on a team that already had the best defense in the league (and we still haven't been scored on after 3 matchdays (Y))

Little factual statistic I found in GSP: last time Steaua started the season without receiving a goal in their first three games was back in 1993, that year Steaua won their first two games and drew the third 0-0, they ended up winning the league 13 points ahead of second place Craiova.

There's no chance of Radoi leaving especially to another club in Romania. Becali might be an idiot but even he realizes that that is just absolute stupidity. Radoi is way more valuable to the club compared to even $5 million. I bet that if Poli did say they would pay $5 mil Becali would of came back and said he wanted $8 mil and so on and so forth, you know how he has his way of playing with people's heads. Not worried.

Becali was never too keen on Neaga, it was obvious that he transfered him so that there would be more playing time for his favorite Cristea however he loves Radoi so I'm not at all afraid that he'll let him go.

Yeah you can, we've gotten better but so have they :D.

Husby as a goalie in such an important match?!? No way!! He wouldn't even play if it was a friendly against a 3rd divivsion team. :ewan:

Espen Johnsen will play instead of Husby and Winsnes instead of Solli. But other from that, the line-up looks (almost) correct.

That's a good formation but at first time I thought Radoi and Paraschiv were wingers, the representation is not the best. :\

Not totaly agree there. Steaua had 3-4 big chances before we even managed to have one good attack. After 30 mins or so we became much better though. But we need to get better.

Don't insult the Rosenborg's players, I understand that's how us Romanians think but they beat us fair and square we just didn't have any luck and if we wanted to qualify we shouldn't of allowed 3 goals in the deciding match before even scoring one, we threw ourselves in the mess and you should just be proud that we almost pulled ourselves out of it. Let's hope for a very long UEFA Cup campaign along with our city rivals Dinamo and Rapid and still manage to make people notice that Romanian clubs still exist.

I was just trying to say that their team is old, hopefully we will do at least as what we done last year in the UEFA Cup. I think it's time for a change of mentality, you can't just get in the CL groups at the first try, we got to sort out our roster, make them omogene (sp?) and then we can talk about Champions League.

Edit: Well that can be expected from a guy like Becali.

Our team isn't that old. We have got rid of many of the old players, we have almost changed the whole squad over the last years. Which is also one of the problems why it has gone so bad this year.
