View Full Version : uh....... anyone want to come to Russia?!

I'm CSKA and I figured it wouldn't be SO difficult to get players to come here, but it's borderline impossible!! So far I've been turned down by Mokoena, Scurto, Legrottaglie, Lewandowski, Gift Leremy, Giovanny Hernandez, Hakan Yakin, and Benedict Vilakazi.

When it comes to Scurto, Legrottaglie, and Yakin, these guys aren't playing at ALL, but they don't want to come to a CL team that happens to be in Russia. Even that damn Colombian Hernandez won't come here!! And three South Africans turned me down!! I know Russia isn't great, but we're Champions League and surely we're better than South Africa!

So I'm at a loss, I don't know what to do because I get turned down by everyone. Does anyone know some good players that are willing to come to Russia that would also pack at least a little star power or at least immediate impact?

PS: Niko Kranjcar just snubbed me too.

I would try looking for young eastern european and azian players. They're most likely to not mind about playing in the anonymity of Russia.

Certainly Maniche and Costinha wouldn't mind.

I'm sorry I don't get the joke, was that a shot at Sporting? But those are Porto players. Whatever, I've went through about 10 asian and african national teams looking for young players and sent my scouts around the globe. After this game I'll have a bunch of players to recommend. It's amazing, I have over 10 million euros to spend, but no one wants to come here! I'm hoping Ali Karimi comes; if he's good enough for Bayern, he's good enough for me.... but I don't think he'll come.

Maniche and Costinha went about a month ago from Porto to CSKA Moscow for unclear and strange reasons.

Nimreitz
26-06-2005, 11:01:PM
Weird. I don't think they'd come to me in FM though because I don't have oil sponsorship money and no Russian Mafia ties.

PS: Ali Karimi won't leave his United Arab Emirates club Al Ahly to come to CSKA because he doesn't think I'm the right coach to help his career.

PPS: Just made my first signing!!!! Feng Xiaoting. 19 year old Chinese central defender, looks decent. I'm still pissed Karimi turned me down, he could have really helped.

Adu would probably go there if nobody else has snapped him up yet as he joined my Plymouth side in a previous game. Scorza is also a good young prospect. He joined my Torquay side and was worth 7 million pounds within 3 seasons.

Adu won't consider a move to CSKA.

Kerzakhov? If you need a striker, look for this guy, he's Russian, forgot what team he plays for.

Bobby

Kakalov, he's bulgarian.

Nimreitz

I don't really need a striker, I have a russian national plus Vagner Love and Ivica Olic.

I think Maniche and Costinha didn't want to go but they were forced because of the network Abramovich and friends have been setting up in the past years(Corintians, Chelsea, PSV, CSKA Moscow, Porto, Benfica and Sporting seem to be in this network).

Daz
27-06-2005, 03:46:PM
i doubt Sporting are in that network because they've always had close ties with Man Utd.

Cool. Chinese youth NT captain IRL. :)

I can tell you a couple more promising Chinese youngsters that you should check out. Zhou Haibin (AM C), Zhao Xuri (DM C), and Chen Tao (AM/F RC I think). Zhou Haibin becomes very good all around with almost everything above 10 or around 15, and he is only 19 I think at the beginning. Chen Tao will have over 15 in finishing, long shots, PK, and such more goalscoring stats and high mental stats, and Zhao Xuri is similar to Zhou Haibin, he becomes very balanced. All 3 of these players are also on the youth NT IRL that just played in Holland. Zhao Xuri scored the 89th minute volley against Turkey, and Chen Tao scored both goals against Germany in the loss.

Also, Sun Xiang is a decent right back if you need one.

PS: like others said, I think you can find lots of good talent in Eastern European countries that will sign for you. Check out Ukrainian players for example, Dynamo Kiyv has alot of decent youngsters.

Weird, I've made two signings so far. Feng, and CHEN TAO!! I had this Romanian defender who got a serious knee injury like the day before Feng came to the club, Feng stepped into the DC position and I don't think he's ever going to lose it. Great player! Chen Tao is in my reserves because I just don't think he's quite where I need him to be for Champions League Football, but once I sell Ivica Olic (end of the season to Porto) I think he'll be brought up to the big squad. Thank god for China otherwise I wouldn't be able to sign anyone!

And while i'm updating, I've now been turned down by all the promising youngsters from Israel, so I can add them to the list.

Nimreitz, have you tried South Americans? If Cavenaghi can play for some Russian club, surely a player with a lesser reputation will join you. Try to go for players in Swiss League and Eastern european ones.

28-06-2005, 08:20:PM
yea try Freddy Guarin. Colombian wonderkid. He plays for some **** little club too, maybe he'll join you.

Zlatan
28-06-2005, 08:37:PM
Guarin is a too big talent too come to Moscow I think. Plus I think Nimreitz has already played a few seasons(?) so normally Guarin has already moved to a bigger club by than.

No he just started this new game with CSKA. Cuz he said Feng Xiaoting is 19, so that's like IRL.

Nimreitz
29-06-2005, 04:05:AM
Yeah I just started. I'll try Guarin, but I have a feeling Cavenaghi wouldn't have gone to Spartak in FM. I'll look into it though.

You tried getting Vanden Borre Nim?

Belgians love Russia. :p

Nimreitz
29-06-2005, 09:27:AM
Don't even joke. South Africans think their league is better than Russia, Belgians aren't comming here. I did manage to sign Guarin (of course he plays at the deepest position on my team, so I'm trying to retrain him to play attacking mid). I just won the league in my first season and have 2 wins in my first 2 CL Group games... I have Liverpool next.

On a real note, since we were/are on the topic of russian clubs, maniche, costinha and why/why not a player would move to russia. Russian clubs have really stepped up their efforts to become euro powers recently. There are a lot of very talented european and brazilian players moving to russian clubs. There is no doubt the pay checks had a great deal to do with their moves but it doesn't change the fact that they are there.

Nim, I know this is going to sound stupid, since I am almost sure you tryed it already, but offer them one year deals with a large fee. Any player will move to russia if you offer them enough pay, and since you have over 10 mill to spend you should have a lot of money to spend on salaries.

Nimreitz
30-06-2005, 07:00:AM
I've offered the highest salaries I can afford. It doesn't make any difference, once my bids are accepted and I get to the contract screen I get "_______ has absolutely no interest in joining CSKA Moscow"

Money doesnt have a very high influence on a club's choice on FM. I was playing a cheat game with MVV, and offered 650.000 a week for Zonneveld, he didnt accept  He even recieved a high signing fee of a few millions from me.

Fernandez

They should change that in FM 2006.

Amen to that. By the way the netowk of Abramoivh includes only 3 clubs so far Chelsea-CSKA-Corinthias (sry for spelling) and has some kind of connection to PSV but not directly.

Anyways the FM creators really underestimated the popularity of Russian league. Even though the players from the big 5 dont wanna go to Russia but South Americans are more then happy too. And the situation is improving since Russian clubs have oligarchs take interest in them. So they better improve it in the new FM06. My advice is dont buy anyone first two seasons,
(besides may be Freddy or players from Russian league ) and once your reputation is build up start make signings.

Here some good russian players
Andrey Karyaka - AML
Andrey Arshavin - AMC/R
Kerzhakov - SC
Malafeev - GK
Kolodin - DMC
Aldonin - D/DMC

Good luck :jacko:

You're right, I didn't have any updates installed. But even so everyone you got besides Mokoena are Russian or Guarin (who I also got, but he wasn't clearly worth a starting position).
