There are four new stadiums in this years game:

Mestella - Valencia (Spain)
Riazor - Deportivo la Coruna (Spain)
Newlands - Ajax Cape Town (South Africa)
Saitama - Urawa Red Diamonds (Japan)

Players will now be seen to have their shirts untucked, and can also have tape on their fingers (generally used to cover rings). Wristbands are also now included in multiple colours and players can wear cycling shorts underneath the club shorts. Updated kits have been added for the unlicensed clubs (England remains unlicensed). 2005/06 kits will be added for the clubs from La Liga and the Dutch Eredivisie. Real numbers and lettering is included for the licensed teams.

It's not how it looks in my opinion but how the game actually plays that counts. Anyways theres only so much you can do on an ageing ps2 console , i just wish that they would completely revamp the pc version , with better online support (imagine playing 2v2 or 4v4 or even more online). I know its a long, long time away but i really cant wait to see how it plays or even looks on the ps3. Gonna be mindblowing. :)

not that i'm condemning the gameplay of WE. it's still the best footie out there, but what the hell. the screenshots look like those of WE7, WE8. no EPL license..i smell EA, minimal improvements.

MasterM

I smell exactly the same m8
but this will be their last release on ps2, so i give them a chance. Konami must blow me away with their first release on ps3.

There will sure be improvements in terms of gameplay. As for the graphics, it will be slightly tweaked but they can't do too much at the moment.

There will be PES6 on PS2

Well, you say it'll be the same, but....

PES2 - Improves by making a faster, more slicker game with improved controls.
PES3 - New graphics engine, lots of new moves, handballs and some tight matches.
PES4 - More passing based. You can pass your way through some games.

So play all of the PES games back-to-back and you'll notice the distinct differences between them. PES5 will not be the same as it's predecessor.

it looks the fecking same.I can see all those threads named "What is the difference between PES4 and PES5? I' can't see any"
and those answers "PES5 has more polished gameplay and smoother graphics on some cards"

I hope deja vu won't come again

There will be a "FEW" Premiere League licensed teams.
Maybe 3 to 4 teams. But I`m not sure which teams are going to
be officialy licensed for WE9. I`ll post here when I get more info.

BTW, some people were actually able to play
Winning Eleven 9. Konami`s putting playable WE9 in
stores in Japan. Only one day for each place,
and they move to another store.
Also, they put it in some soccer stadiums too.
This is a picture of somebody playing WE9.

For Premiere League, only Arsenal and Chelsea are officially licensed.
Konami didn`t get the offcial license for the league.
They got the lisence for these two teams individually.
Like in Winning Eleven 7 International. I remeber
there were a few officially lisenced teams from Serie A.

I think they are going to add the Premiere League lisence
to the PS3 version which will maybe be Winning Eleven 11.
So my guess is they`re going to save the good stuff for last.

As cool as that would be, it won't happen as the EPL license is an exclusive with EA from what I understand. They could certainly sign many more clubs individually though... who knows.

I didn`t know that. Thanks for the input :)
Well I hope they put more lisenced teams in WE9 International.

Oh btw, is there an online feature for the PS2 version
in Europe and America ?
There is an online feature in Japan that I think you all know about,
but the price of it is crazy...

For example, for 8LE, the Basic fee for 1 month is 300Yen,
and if you want to use the Japanese National Team
you need to pay an additional 300Yen,
if you want to use Officially lisenced Serie A teams you need to
pay an additional 600 Yen, and for Liga you also have to
pay 600 Yen, and for Eredivise you need to pay 300 Yen additionaly.
And there is a Special price if you want all 3 Officially Licensed leagues,
a set price which is 1200 Yen.
And also if you want to enter the competition you need to
pay 300 Yen. These prices are for 1 month usage.

This is crazy.... If you want all of them you`ll need to pay,

The Basic Fee (300Yen),
Japanese National Team usage Fee (300 Yen),
Special set for all 3 Officially lisenced leagues (1200Yen) ,
Competition Fee (300Yen).

And the total amount would be 2100 Yen a month...
Thats about $20US... And there are going to be more official lisenced
teams in WE9, so I guess the price per month will increase if you want
all of them....

any news on the the online mode, as will it be a lobby type system as in FiFA or direct connection as in PES4. A lobby system would be better as both players get a even connection quality.

Hong Kong NT appears in WE9 :D but we cant use them...:(
http://soccergaming.tv/attachment.php?attachmentid=124797&stc=1

I have a same post in another thread...

just heard that there is Hong Kong NT in the game but we cant use them. We can only play against HK NT while playing with Japan to challenge in the World Cup...

and there is a tap shot function : R2 + Square

also, some players would have their shirt covering their shorts instead of putting the shirt inside the shorts, like what Ruud usually does.

and i found a Hong Kong NT squad already...
19? or 1? Fan Chun-Yip, our great keeper played in the Brazi, Man United games...l
18 Lee Wai-Man, defender, our captain now
3 Man Pei-Tak, defender
2 Leung Chi-Wing, defender
20 Poon Yiu-Cheuk, defender
6 Lau Zi-Keung, defensive mid, the MOM in the HK 1-7 Brazil match
13 Szeto Man-Chun, defender/midfielder
8 Cheung Sai-Ho, attacking mid
12 Wong Chun-Yu, midfielder, set as our captain in WE9
10 Lawrence, forward
23 Chu Siu Kei or Chan Siu-Kei (still dunno), forward
