Do you think they will pay more attention this year to the lower league sides? In the past Fifas they have assumed that all lower league players are rubbish and given them about 2 stars. some players in the coca cola championship are fantastic players who would be just as good in the prem. eg Crouch, Ashton, Andy Johnson, Rob Green. If they are still with their clubs in september do you think they will get a fair rating? Same with teams

Yeah i know. Extremely good people that move to another lower club = decrease their skills. They have to work on that. They can't rank like that.,

In FIFA 2004, when Ryan Nelson was at DC United, his rating was 50. 2005 was about 74. It will be interesting how they, and Konami too, rate him in 2006. At least to a kiwi like me.

I think what they need to do is change the way they rate the teams. Yes, Southampton sucks and deserves a bad rating, but not necessarily because all of their players are bad. Similarly Chelsea deserves a 5-star rating, but not because all of their players are in the 90's. But FIFA 2005 chooses the team ratings based on the ratings of the players in the starting 11. I don't eed to tell you why that's a horrible idea. Yes, Chelsea are a 5-star team, but that doesn't mean Wayne Bridge is a five-star player. The fact that Chelsea has acres of squad depth and Liverpool has none doesn't really matter: Liverpool is 4 stars and Chelsea is 4.5.

A new system needs to be developed for rating teams, which factors in squad depth, the ability of the manager, and cohesion (to get the best team in 2005 just buy up all the stars, but look at Madrid, clearly doesn't work). It's going to take a big overhaul.

over & under rating will will probably continue because they dont really do in-depth research in the lower leagues while making the game. & if you ask me, they should just do away with the ratings.....it would do away with the need to have a 90+ starting line-up

I think the current rating system needs revamped anyway. Last season's French Ligue 2 winners AS Nancy have the same overall rating as English League 2 mid-table finishers Oxford United. Who, incidentally, have the same overall rating as Premiershiip-promotion-winning Wigan Athletic.

I know all too well the difficulty in creating a simulation that strikes the right balance between team ability and fun, but that doesn't mean I can't complain when it goes wrong.

Oxford United (and the English lower leagues, which I follow to some extent) have a history of really odd ratings. No club should be rated the same as one 2 leagues higher. Ever.

The best Leage 2 club should be 1.5 stars, the worst champ club 2 stars, and the ones in league 1, 1.5 to 2 stars. Not this crazy random crap where we get 2 star teams in league two (ACK! Oxford!), and 1.0 ones in league one (ACK! Doncaster)! It makes no sense. And if you thought the English leagues were screwed, check out the Italian one, where they have a team rated higher in league B than most (yes literally most) of the League A ones. And the rest of B is rated ****e, even though there are some decent players there. Same crap with the French league 2. EA, come-ON!

They should do team ratings out of 100 like they do for the other ea sports games.

... some players in the coca cola championship are fantastic players who would be just as good in the prem. eg

Ummm I donīt watch that much (any?) coca cola championship but that is the fourth division, right?... you cannot expect them to be great in the stats if they are not good enough to be on the prem... or even in the second division. :jap:

I know that EA loves English football and they have showed that by having four leagues of just that country... nothing against that, the more leagues the better but there were other which deserved more attention like turkish, greek or even argentinian :boohoo:

It is good enough for the english people to have those leagues and clubs but you want them to be powerhouses?? For God`s sake sorin is 79, Klose is 81 and Etoo is 89, lets focus on that first!! :lui:

why Polish league I dont f*cking understard there

I'll be honest and say that the Argentian league deserves to be there more than the Greek, but they should have both

but EA people are busy playing with their dicks rather than creating an anthetic football game
