View Full Version : Searching for target man

Well here's the situation:

I'm in February 2006 with TSV Alemannia Aachen right now and my tactic has always been to let Erik Meijer, who's a fantastic target man, drop balls for people like Marcel Schied(my striker) and my attacking mids: Florian Kringe and Salvatore Gambino. This has worked wonders since I'm 2nd placed right now behind allmighty Bayern. But the thing is Meijer is growing old and he gets injured more and more and I think he's going to announce his retirement soon so I need a new target man with good heading and jumping stats, finishing doesn't need to be that high but he should be rather young(27 or younger) plus he hasn't got to cost more then 1m, preferably transfer free.

Any suggestions?

Go for Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink (H)(H) Dont mind his extra costs...

Kringe and Gambino eh? Sounds an awful lot like those 2 good Dortmund mids (Y)

Yeah in my game Dortmund is falling apart(11th place in the 2.Bundesliga and a huge debt) so I got them for little(Gambino) or no(Kringe) money...

i've got Gianpaolo Pazzini as my target man in my current game with Lyon(05/06). so far he's scored more than 20 goals and loads of assists to my other attacking players(van Bommel, Juninho, Frau, and Robinho). he's quite expensive though so i dont know if he'll fit your bugdet.

yea Pazzini cost my ManUtd team 14 mil I think... he's an ice-cold finisher tho, quite worth the money.

But with a low budget I'd say maybe Arouna Kone? The guy Ajax tried to sign IRL. He has great finishing and heading.

Lebohang Mokoena has good jumping and finishing stats. Not sure if you can play him as a target man though.

Bernardo Romeo is the same and only costs around 425000 pounds in the first season. You would have to wait a year though since he's on loan.

Bernardo Romeo is the one. Always transfer listed. Good header and a finisher too. Try Tomas Jun also.

Romeo seems to be already bought by HSV. He's worth over 12m so I cannot buy him.

Maxi Lopez, by now his value will probably be in the mid 20's so he's probably to expensive, i'll look for some bargains.

Try this guy. In some games he is transfer listed, or he usually wants to move to a bigger club around winter of 2006 :ewan:

Um...maybe im biased..but Bonazzoli (Reggina) has a half decent finish and is good at headers and is physically strong. He is usually transfer listed and is co-owned by Reggina and Parma.

I hate co-owned players. Both teams want you to pay the 100% for the player, so you'll end up paying 200%
