View Full Version : The Greatest Cheat Team

Right come on guys, we all know FM05 (and its preceeding titles) pretty well now so lets make an actual team consisting of the greatest "cheat" players, the talents.

What i mean is players on Football Manager who are blatantly too good for the game, people such as Mokena etc. Idealy id then like someone to take this team into the actual game and see how good they can do with it.

Lets base the formation around a 442 unless we start having problems.

Young Freddy Guarín should be one of the MCs. Preferably a DMC running up when in possession.

He'll join just about any team, and is good enough to play on the highest of levels. His long shots can't be missed on a cheat team.

It depends what you are basing this on tom, because obviously there are the podolski, tevez's and robinho's, who IRL have a great deal of potential, so maybe aren't actually as you call "cheat" players.

I'd like to nominate Guarin, the columbian central/right sided midfielder and as you have already mentioned, Mokoena.

great point Nick, really good point :D damn.

Lets go with more unkown players, Robinho is damn good but everyone knows him, people like Guarin and Moekena ive never heard of.

Ok, well in net theres always Sebastian Saja (always been solid for me), defence people such as van den borre (maybe its just me that hasn't heard of him :( ), and Naldo (your favourite Thom, ah come on he's alright (H) )

Tom
18-07-2005, 09:57:PM
yeah Naldo's a star, and no-ones heard of him. Saja is usually very good but he doesnt half cost much...

freddy Grisales, Sebatian Saja. World class in the game, just good in reality

Mokoena Becomes World class, doubt he'll be even close to being good in the real thing

Schmeichel. Soli (not sure about him)

The word cheat doesnt seem very "correct" tho. Its not a cheat when you dont do anything to hack the way the application works.

Well in my area of expertise (cm 00/01) I would suggest Kennedy Bakircioglu and Zlatan Ibrahimovic (but he actually got good in real life, so he doesn't seem like a cheat).

Nilmar is fantastic, dont know if he is considered a cheat player, top notch striker.

Anthony Vanden Borre - everyone "in the know" about FM buys this guy!
Freddy Guarin - proven to be a bargain for alot of people in various leagues
Benedict Vilakazi - usually has a ridiculously high PA and will only cost you about £300k!
Mokoena - same as Vilakazi
Kasper Schmeichel - let's be honest, this guy only gets a high PA because of his famous dad, he becomes very good though.

Hercules
18-07-2005, 11:35:PM
Vincent Kompany - but then he's pretty good IRL
Alejandro Sanchez Fernandez - i shamefully havent heard of him, but he's damn good...
Hatem Ben Arfa - surely he's not THAT good in real life? French Ligue One fans might disagree?

Damn...I still miss Tommy Svindal Larsen from CM2 days :( :( :(

GK: Jan Lastuvka. Never heard of him prior to this game and has stats as good as any keeper in the world in FM.

AML: Daniel Bierofka. Very cheap at 450K and had a ridiculously good average rating for me in my Liverpool team. He rated something like 8.75 over the first season if I remember correctly and outperformed both Vicente and also Joaquin on the opposite wing. An average player IRL.

very true about Lastuvka. Hatem Ben Arfa as well, won world player of the year with City and has MAD stats :|

what about Thomas Hubschman? I've never heard of him, maybe others have, but he's a world class defender in FM

Tim Wiese? Freddy Adu

Stotty

I think Freddy Adu is probably just overated, and his stats and PA have been lowered in the latest database.

Theres also Nelson Heado Valdez as another SC.

Chevontor did gr8 in italy, and milan wanted to buy him 1-2 years ago. He might be little overrated, but not a "cheat" player

A real cheat player would be To Madeira in CM01/02... also the good old Andri Sigtorsson for Cm97/98...

Stopped looking for bargains in FM05... never really played long enough to bother..

Well, if we're going to get all nostalgic then I may as well bring up the greatest AMC in the history of the game. All hail King Nikiforenko!

I'd love to see a couple of mega-players back for FM2006. No one that I have found has come close to Niki or Maxim since CM 01/02. I know that they weren't realistic (Maxim for example scoring 80 in a season) but damn it was fun having them in your team.

Sergei Nikiforenko, good one.

These weren't cheat players per se, but how about the really really young guys who guaranteed became world beaters. In 99/00 there was Tonton Zola Moukoko, and I don't remember what edition he debuted, but Cherno Samba was 15 the first time he was in the game. Also a 16 year old Javier Saviola in CM3, but once again, if they turn out to be good in real life we think CM did a good job scouting.

The only ones I ever bought were Kennedy Bakircioglu and Andri Sigtorsson (who had probably the worst stats I've ever seen, but for some reason he was AMAZING, even in the best leagues). I hated people who bought To Madiera and Maxim Tsigalko.

Ochoa
Krasa
Tim Wiese
Bierfoka
Wayne Bridge

They all became phenomenal for me. By phenomenal I mean 8-9 average ratings with impressive stats.

D'Alessandro became world player of the year for me. Shaun Wright Phillips won a lot of English awards too. Suprisingly Wayne Bridge and Greening became important first team players as well.

and I started it all with West Brom. Best FM experience ever.

One more thing. May I suggest one player : Jeremies from Bayern Munich. At the beginning of the game Bayern are willing to sell him cheap, but you'll have to approach him. I believe you can definitely get him under 2 mil pounds. sometimes just a mere 750k would do.

What you get is a superb player with loads of stamina and defensive capabilities. Great dmc, good as a backup if you already have a better one, makeshift right back. Captain material, loads of determination. He is often the first player that I get.

God I'd forgotten about a couple of those already. Tonton was great on the pitch but a whining git off it in just about every game I had him in. A couple more from the older series:

Isaac Okoronkwo
Justin Georcellin (spelling?)
Joao Paiva
Chiotis (super keeper)

As I said, I'd really like to see a Maxim equivalent back in the game. It would be fun trying to find out who the 'superplayer' was and those who did not wish to use him would not have to. In CM01/02 in games where I didn't buy Maxm he would usually just end up at some German club, so it didn't throw the games' balance out or anything. I don't think an inclusion of that sort in FM2006 would ruin anything but would simply add another aspect.
