what doy ou mean by best supporters? the amount of members?
I'm a huge Barca fan, but I can without doubt say that the atmosphere at Anfield Road is FAR better then it is on Camp Nou, same goes for Santiago Ber.
But i'm sure both the top two teams got more members, since they both placed in bigger cities and are bigger atm.

Read the f*cking link douchebag.
0le_Spain 19-07-2005, 07:09:PM Best supported = More supporters ...i wonder how long until Chelsea make it to number 1
Virgo 19-07-2005, 07:24:PM I'd like to know on which information they based these results.
TOON ARMY 19-07-2005, 07:27:PM What a load of bollocks
Read the f*cking link douchebag.
whoops, my bad :ewan:

Vagegast 19-07-2005, 08:16:PM *Thinks about clicking on link. Sees that it came from Liverpool's website. Dismisses it as crap*Wow.Liverpool are now considered to be the best supported British club across the world, according to a leading sports consultants company.
A report published today by German-based Sport+Markt AG has revealed that following the recent Champion League success our worldwide fan base has increased by 10 million.
It goes on to say that we can now boast 18 million supporters across the world, a figure bettered only by Real Madrid (32 million) and Barcelona (23 million) in Europe.
Spokesman Oliver Butler says: "The huge increase in the number of Liverpool fans showed how influential success can be in the size of support. The size of the increase would also point to a high level of latent support which had gone underground due to a recent lack of success."
Vedran-10 19-07-2005, 08:21:PM Man Utd placed sixth
Nird - Barcelona have more members than any other club in the world.
treble41 19-07-2005, 08:31:PM Don't laugh at this-but you all know that the Bundesliga has the best average attendance right. I know that that means nothing in here, but I don know that Borussia Dortmund who I dislike, are one of the most supported clubs in Europe (not counting Asia and whoever else). They have one of the biggest fan bases in Europe and their huge stadium with a great capacity is always sold out. They might not be the most supported through out the world but I know that they are in Europe and they should probably be on that list.
Vagegast 19-07-2005, 08:38:PM You guys should learn to read. The article isn't talking about attendance records or how many people are actually members of a club.
Hendrik 19-07-2005, 08:44:PM Is it so hard to actually read the article damn.
Vagegast 19-07-2005, 08:45:PM Is it so hard to actually read the article damn.I blame teachers.

really? didn't know that, but i'm not surprised...
Exactly.
Hey nird, werent you a Juve fan a couple weeks ago? :nape:
still am..there are two clubs that holds an equal place in my heart, Barcelona and Juventus. It has been like that for as long as I can remember.
Crusad3r 19-07-2005, 11:42:PM i believe Real Madrid is 1st cause some reasons like Beckham in example, there is many people that dont know a sh*t about football but know Beckham, and so Real Madrid.
pasion1 20-07-2005, 12:43:AM Well, I'm surprised Celtic and Rangers are not on the list.
Besides Man U, both are the clubs with most suporters worldwide in the ENTIRE UK (which is very very impresive considering how big Scotland is).
ForzaNerrazurri 20-07-2005, 12:48:AM Inter is the most popular team in Asia (according to IIHFS rankings). Surprised they aren't on the top 10

If ask my friends (not all Football fanatics like us :P) about Manchester United they will tell me "Van Nisteelrooy, Giggs, Cantona, Beckham!, ...", if ask themfor Arsenal they will tell me "Henry, Reyes, ..." If i ask them for Milan "Maldini, Shevchenko, " If i ask them for Rangers or Celtic thty will say "..." or "Brian Laudrup?..."
Paul Gasgoine and Ally McCoist (H)
kickin_kyle 20-07-2005, 01:08:AM that list is a joke, Celtic are obviously #1. doesnt that list take into account the millions of fans they took to Seville? (H) [inside Old Firm joke, you probably wont get it]
Jambo Den 20-07-2005, 01:09:AM I find that incredible Celtic are not on that list.
Mind you, Celtic to my knowledge don't have one of these fan membership schemes going on. But Celtic really do have a giant support. :(

Dude just because your friends have the football knowledge of a squirel (or maybe some lesser animal), doesn't mean that Celtic doesn't have more fans than Barca or Real. So don't see any point to your logic there.
Man U= Beckham right? <as you put> (any non fan should know that)
Celtic= ....uh ever heard of this little player called LARSON?
Celtic is beyond huge worldwide. Here in Toronto, over 50,000 Celtic fans packed the Skydome (er...Rogers Center) when they faced Roma last year.

I was at that game, and last time I checked I wasnt a Celtic supporter :brow:
Bobby 20-07-2005, 04:29:AM Bandwagon: Madrid, United, or Chelsea
Hardcore: Celtic, beyond a shadow of a doubt.
In my opinion.
Kibe Kru 20-07-2005, 05:01:AM Celtic are big in Europe and maybe North America, but they're not "fashionable"... I mean... they don't play in a big league and don't have many superstars... which means they have less "supporters"... not many people know about them in S. America, and I believe it to be the same in Asia...
Callum 20-07-2005, 05:08:AM Dude just because your friends have the football knowledge of a squirel .
i saw these 2 monkeys water skiing today, it was amazing, going over waves and everything.
:fool: (H)
Joe Star 20-07-2005, 10:10:AM What is the damn obssession with Asia people and David Beckham? Especially with the guys :|
Aww....beckham is so cute....beckham is so pretty!!! I wanna look just like him!! Doesnt matter if he sounds like a mouse & can only kick. He's beckham!!! :-puke:
Ulric_B 20-07-2005, 10:13:AM Bandwagon: Madrid, United, or Chelsea

Agree, but no one can be more hardcore than Millwall FC, they live for the club and we never get any bandwagons.=)
And put Arsanal 2 ur bandwagon-list!

You didnt saw my point, im not insulting the scottish teams, I enjoy following Celtic and Rangers, but you must understand that most of people here dont follow the scottish league, even they could follow EPL and Serie A so their knowledge about other teams is basically reduced to Milan, ManU, Juve, Arsenal, etc
mnj2x 20-07-2005, 11:20:AM i thought manutd had the biggest asian market....
Northern Canary 20-07-2005, 12:04:PM most of those teams have fair weather fans. They would never sing their loudest when 4-1 down like Norwich fans.
Vedran-10 20-07-2005, 07:31:PM Madrid goes to Asia to display Beckham around and there you go with the ranking. The rest is just background noise.

I don't know about that. I've lived in Uruguay, Argentina and pretty much everyone I know (even not football fans) know about Celtic man.
It's Celtic man....not just any club. And I'm not talking about "Bandwagon"......I'm saying they have more fans than EVEN "Bandwagon" fans for Madrid, Man U of Chelsea (like "Man U" fans in some nations who don't really follow club or cheer only when they win.)
Playing in a crap league is irelevant to how many fans you can have.

When you are going to use the great mans name, please spell it correct.
Ubik Valis 21-07-2005, 12:12:PM Yeah, the correct spelling is Larshole.
Ulric_B 21-07-2005, 12:21:PM I have heard too many expert who said that Celtic has the best fans in the world, so I believe them.
I have seen 5 Old Firms, I don't think anything can beat that.
Maybe Millwall FC – wet sham utd at the Den. ;)
Kibe Kru 21-07-2005, 03:40:PM I don't know about that. I've lived in Uruguay, Argentina and pretty much everyone I know (even not football fans) know about Celtic man.

Maybe that is in Argentina, Uruguay only... or it's dependent on your neighborhood and everything... I'm sure people in Brazil know Celtic, but it's like less than 0.5% of people who care about football... Hell, even Liverpool before the Cl was known here only by some Flamengo supporters who wanted to make fun of me because of the 3-0 in 81...
Of course I know Celtic, but that's because I'm into british footie... other than that, I wouldn't have known them, as I haven't heard about them on TV for about 5 years now (about the top tackles in an old firm derby)... and on paper only to talk about Larsson's transfer to Barça...
or maybe people in uruguay, argentina are just more knowledgeable about football at all
mannyb28 22-07-2005, 01:33:AM Celtic are big in Europe and maybe North America, but they're not "fashionable"... yea, because when I was living in Guatemala they wouldnt show any scottish or english futbol games at all, it was either spanish or italian most of the time so thats why I really dont have much support for any scottish or english teams as a whole.
celtic_bhoy 22-07-2005, 08:38:AM SPL > South American Football. :)
jackie4 22-07-2005, 11:03:AM Regarding Celtic, the club's own figures either last year or the year before said they had 9 million people registered to Celtic supporters clubs worldwide. If that's not in the top 10 then big deal. It's still an amazing amount of people.
