Good idea with this TCM06 thread, there were too many separete topics about the same thing. Anyway let's hope EA Sports release the demo or a trailer so we can see how it looks real-time, not just in photos.
champdave 26-07-2005, 01:23:AM Yeah, they look pretty well finished or very nearly done with 06. I've got great hopes for it; I was completely let down by 05. Back to 04 for me for the time being :D
proxnet 27-07-2005, 06:20:AM Yeah, they look pretty well finished or very nearly done with 06. I've got great hopes for it; I was completely let down by 05. Back to 04 for me for the time being :D
very true m8 the game looks quite good with the interface all 'neat n clean'. hopefully we won't see that ****ty tcm 05 interface.
Official TCM 2006 Videos: http://www.totalclubmanager.com/index.php?class=4&i=55
proxnet 01-08-2005, 01:37:PM not bad...better than 05 atleast :jap:
champdave 01-08-2005, 02:33:PM Just need some interface videos now rather than the engine itself. Come on EA!
Cosmo 16-08-2005, 11:57:AM TCM 2004 was good, TCM 2005 was total **** ! :P
TCM 2006 looks promising ;)
One new feature i wanna see is that two players can create their own clubs and start from lower division.
champdave 16-08-2005, 09:36:PM Did EA cut out football fusion from the next one or was it just a dream of mine? If they have, maybe it'll mean they focus more on TCM, which can only be a good thing.
rpvankasteren 16-08-2005, 11:30:PM You're right. Fusion has been dropped, and TCM will have a different match engine than the FIFA games.
That can only mean good news, I keep getting used with the idea that TCM06 will be a great game, better than the last two TCMs. I hope my thoughts turn up to be real, can't wait for the game to be launched.
rpvankasteren 01-09-2005, 02:58:PM The game is being rebranded to FIFA Manager 2006.
from www.totalclubmanager.com (http://www.totalclubmanager.com/index.php?class=4&i=57)
Electronic Arts today announced a new look, feel and name for its Total Club Manager series. Launching on PCCD on October 7th 2005 the new edition will be released as FIFA Manager 06.
New name? I thought the first edition was called FIFA Soccer Manager anyway... (:/)
DAVE!!! Rename the thread plz. :jap:
Damn, and TCM fans were liking TCM just because it's not like FIFA, and now it's renamed to FIFA Mananager.
:nape: :boohoo: :nape:
proxnet 01-09-2005, 03:57:PM lol...who cares for the name as long as the content is good :ewan:
rpvankasteren 01-09-2005, 05:38:PM That's exactly what's been lacking in recent years. Thank god they've dropped that horrendous FIFA engine.
I thought it will have the UEFA CL 2004-2005 engine.
rpvankasteren 01-09-2005, 09:51:PM Yes, but a revised one. Not a straight out of the box 200something engine like prior releases used.
Zlatan 01-09-2005, 10:10:PM Meh if TCM is really getting rid of the Fifa engine which made it just a bad look-alike wannabe version of it(and hence Fifa was already crap) it could be atleast slightly better.
PSVFOREVER 01-09-2005, 10:17:PM Hmm, the managarial aspect of the game still looks horrible though
champdave 02-09-2005, 04:15:PM NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Now I may have to own something with "FIFA" on it :(
Although if its as bad as 2005 was, it'll only be in my house for about 3 days.
New name? I thought the first edition was called FIFA Soccer Manager anyway... (:/)
In the UK it went FIFA Soccer Manager -> FA Premier League Manager (2000-2002) -> Total Club Manager (2003-2005) I think. Don't know what happened in the FAPLM period, I played CM then. But FIFA Soccer Manager was, and still is, amazingly fun to play :D
So will it contain a stand-alone editor or we will have to wait 3 more months?
joni84 08-09-2005, 12:52:AM demo is out
http://fifamanager.easports.co.uk/
ive only played a match, 3d engine looks improved a lot
Just saw the screenshots from the new site, it looks pretty good. I love the interface of the full 3d match, like in these ones: http://fifamanager.easports.co.uk/gfx/screenshots/matchaction-007_lrg.jpg and http://fifamanager.easports.co.uk/gfx/screenshots/matchaction-004_lrg.jpg
Cosmo 08-09-2005, 07:45:AM Actually, the game name is changed to Fifa 06 Manager ? No Total Club anymore ?
rpvankasteren 08-09-2005, 09:47:AM The game was indeed rebranded, but to FIFA Manager 06, not FIFA 06 Manager.
@ Dave, Edward, Hakeem, Dragan: - If you please, someone change the name of this thread.
Cosmo 08-09-2005, 05:24:PM Demo is great ! Levels are gone, thats big minus :S
Nah you have plenty of skills and when you need a player for crosses you know how to chose. Per total the game is brilliant. The new engine is so dynamic and fluent, it has new animations, dribblings and first touches. Gotta love it, too bad it hasn't got sound, but I'll definetly buy it when it's out. The dribblers and the busy players are awesome, they just rule the game :p. Can't wait for it to be launched. Oh and the interface is good too, it's easier in my opinion than the previous ones, but some of the contract clauses disappeared, same with the individual orders, and the height/weight of the player isn't displayed in metric units so I can't understand anything. But you gotta love the ideas of players types and with photos of them :jap:. I love it!
More screenshots soon :p. Oh and strange thing is that you can play only in the Premier League though you can transfer players from the other countries :fool:.
Zlatan 08-09-2005, 09:17:PM Well atleast the layout is better than last time
kickin_kyle 08-09-2005, 11:29:PM this looks like it could actually be good this time.
proxnet 09-09-2005, 08:55:AM waitin for the full release.....currently downloading the demo.
Can anyone please post the pc specs of the game??
It should be there in the readme file
Thanx :)
Oz_Leeds_Fan 09-09-2005, 08:58:AM does anyone know of any mirrors for the demo?
EA servers suck big time.....
proxnet 09-09-2005, 09:00:AM try out google our somethin otherwise wait for a few days and u'll get it on filefront or planetmirror.
i'm curretly gettin 123 kbp/s right now on ea's server :jap:
Can anyone please post the pc specs of the game??

I wanted to post them but I uploaded the hole readme.
I played the demo for about 10 minutes. Same old crappy game, i still hate the menu, the 3d game is better, although the screen is full with all kind of info you can't find the most important things. I don't think that EA will ever be able to make a decent manager game... :boohoo:
proxnet 09-09-2005, 01:09:PM I wanted to post them but I uploaded the hole readme.
thanx a lot m8 :)
SlowSilver 09-09-2005, 09:29:PM  Well that was the biggest waste of my time...
I downloaded it, waited for an 1hr and 45 minutes, and it only bloody installed the FIFA 06 demo. :| (N) :boohoo:
proxnet 10-09-2005, 09:02:AM  Well that was the biggest waste of my time...

Where'd you download it from??
SlowSilver 10-09-2005, 09:45:AM The official website. :p I deleted it, then downloaded it again, it worked. I was quite impressed by the game. Only one thing though, I think too many long shots are scored.. but so far, so good. :)
proxnet 10-09-2005, 03:44:PM oh...ok :)
for the long shots...which team did you choose?
SlowSilver 10-09-2005, 03:48:PM I chose Arsenal. ;)
proxnet 11-09-2005, 06:42:AM lol.....i initially though u went with chelsea (6)
why not buy lampard....cuz in his profile there is long range shooter. So u can use him for those things.
Cosmo 11-09-2005, 06:03:PM Manchester United
Symbian 11-09-2005, 06:27:PM i've downloaded the demo n played it for some time now.
i would say that tis game is soooo ... BEST!! compared to the previous versions of TCMs, imo.
the look of this game is juz, class, i would say. :)
This game is a wonder, I just love it. It's the best manager I have ever played, maybe because I didn't try Football Manager yet :p, some of you might give some opinions on that, but the only thing that will be difficult for me would be getting used with the menu. Can't wait for the full version.

ya, i agree wit u, compared to football manager's ui, fifa manager's ui is juz better n really user-friendly. mayb v r still not used 2 the brand new surface. but believe me, all of us will like them more n more;)
slackker 13-09-2005, 06:19:PM tried the demo, since its juz a single league, perhaps the processing speed is better. but having played fm2005, both UI has their own advantages, but i feel fm has more depth, in regards to tactics and club options, tweak more tactics, and the scouting system is better in fm i feel. Training wise, i was rather impressed by fifa's system more detailed and i like the slots that ppl train all together and separate slots according to groups.
now juz got to wait for fm2006 demo so i can make a comparison and decide if i want to get any of them.
I don't know if these were posted before but I found them on the official website.
Producer Q&A
We recently passed on some community questions to FIFA Manager 06 Producer Simon Humber. The answers cover all manner of game details such as systems specs, Found a Club and crowd sizes.
1. What will the system specs be this year?
You may remember we polled the community about which optical drive they have – DVD or CD. We were hoping to release on DVD but we feel the time is not right this year so it's 3 CDs instead.
The most important aspect is the memory. 256Mb will work, but it will not be optimal and virtual memory will need to be used. 384 Mb or the more usual 512Mb will be ideal. Of course the more leagues you load at the start of the game the more memory you will need for a good performance level. The processor is less important but the minimum spec asks for a 1.0 GHz Intel Pentium III processor (or equivalent). Then a 32 MB (AGP/PCI-E) Video card is the base spec there, but obviously the better the card the smoother and prettier the 3D matches will be.
2. In a recent screenshot there are some unrealistically high scoring games (3:5, 6:3 etc.). Will this be fixed for the final version?
The scores in the game are by far the most realistic we’ve ever had and the balancing of the goals generated by 3D versus Instant Result/Text Mode is also strong. That screenshot shows a lot of World Cup games which have gone to penalties. The simulations we have made on league seasons show that there are about 2.7 goals per game. That's not to say there is never a crazy game, just like in real life sometimes you get the 5-4 thrillers. Here’s a screenshot of a typical match day’s results
3. The game will include a huge amount of player faces - will there be any generic faces too for gamers who take their teams past ten years or so?
The focus was to provide a strong photo realistic approach this year. As time progresses the generated players that come into the game will not have an appearance in the front end screens. We found the look of the heads to be very weak last year, so when we revisit that again we want the result to be much stronger than it was. That is something on the list of features to investigate for next year.
4. Aside from the AI and database what do you think is the biggest improvement this year?
Navigation is so much easier compared to 2005. That interface was hard to find your way around but now we have a much more intuitive system of drop down menus and popup windows. Anyone who can use a standard Windows computer can easily operate the game. Also, the website is really cool. I often find that my purchasing decisions are shaped by what I see other managers are up to, so I get in there and hijack their deals before they have finalised terms!
5. Has Found a Club been improved this year? for instance are there more kit creation options now?
You can take the money you earn from your career and then found the club, which makes the career game a great lead in to a bit of DIY club ownership. This allows gamers to invest some money into a big stadium at the beginning. In terms of kits there are 42 shirts, 13 shorts and 4 socks.
6. Will there be third kits this year?
The only time a third kit is used is when the code can't find a non clashing combination of both team's first and second choice kits. The third kit is not something you’ll be able to set.
7. Will crowd sizes be more realistically dependent on match importance?
The crowd sizes are looking better this year. It's actually quite a complex calculation to get it correct for all teams as there are some teams who have much larger floating support than other teams. When these teams with large floating support are successful their numbers rise far more than the other type of team. Take a look at how Hull's support has gone through the roof compared to a few years ago.
proxnet 14-09-2005, 02:12:PM (Y) thanx for the q&a 7 :)
champdave 15-09-2005, 10:54:AM Wow - missed a bit! I'll give it a download on Sunday (flying back to England today, coming back sunday) and see if its better than '05. It best be!
Uhm, I have some questions about it. Isn't there an average rating of the player or do we have to calculate it? And if I change the position of a player, for example moving a left winger to the right wing, how will this affect his play?
proxnet 17-09-2005, 12:15:PM There isn't any avg. rating of a player like in tcm 05 where there used to be lvls.
We just have to see each of the players skills and choose him if he fits into our teams style of play. eg:- ur looking for a creative midfielder then in this case u'll just have to buy one with good cr8tiveness and passing and anticipation, it's not necessary for you to go in for some1 big.
Also before buying some1 always look at his physical condition.
As for changing a right winger to left or vice-versa it actually depends on the players style of play. If his style is goes wide left like henry or reyes then he'll drift on the left a bit in the attack so it is better to keep him centre or left, but if his style is hold up then it will be a bit weird as you don't want players holding up the ball on the wings.
I'll post a whole chart on Player/Style/Pos. Compatibilites soon. It should help decide which type of player to play in what pos.
Hope this helped :)
It did but I meant if I can put a left winger (his style of play is "Winger") to the right without sensing any difference. Anyway I'll be waiting for the player/style/position compatibilities chart ;).
Symbian 18-09-2005, 04:34:AM about the kit in the game, i thought v should use real kit pictures which can be rotated instead of 3d kit juz like tcm 2005.
well, i personally feel that the 3d kit is juz not suitable 4 tis year's ui, isn't it?
4 generic kits, they should hav real kit template to be modified by us...
proxnet 18-09-2005, 12:18:PM It did but I meant if I can put a left winger (his style of play is "Winger") to the right without sensing any difference. Anyway I'll be waiting for the player/style/position compatibilities chart ;).
You wont sense much of a difference on such a change....although this should always be done while the match is going on.
This is the best thing to do....buy 2 wingers who can use both their feet and style of play is winger....with this u can change both and keep switching without any difference.
:)
champdave 18-09-2005, 03:31:PM cr8tiveness
Not to be pedantic, but that text language turns out as "crateiveness", and the word is "creativity" (so you'd have to put cre8ivity) :p :ewan:
proxnet 19-09-2005, 12:56:PM ok whatever...i don pay much attention to such stuff.... :fool:
So is there a way to assign training objectives?
proxnet 21-09-2005, 01:09:PM yes there is....go in training and then individual players...out there select the training skills.
Cheers mate, hopefully you'll release the chart soon.
slackker 21-09-2005, 06:37:PM having now played fm2006's beta demo, its better. love the way training is at fm2006, fifa2006 manager is way too detailed.
fm2006 has better tactical options: swap wings, time wasting, etc etc
if ur guys can get hold of fm's beta demo, try it, its better imo.
Cheers
I'll never give up the TCM series (FIFA Manager now  ) for another management game, that's sure. FM2006 might be better (never played a FM game in my life) but I'll stick to this.

Try both - not impossible to play both! ;)

btw we have switch wings and time waste in fifa manager also
:boohoo:
I played it some good hours and I really love it. Haven't seen any bugs, it's just brilliant. So is there an official date for the release? I'm not very experienced in TCM, my first one was 2004 and I can say that I played both 2004 and 2005 for hundreds of hours, too bad I didn't hear about it earlier :(. I see that the in-game hotkeys commands have been removed, will they be in the final version? And the stats after the game are awesome, the ones that show which player has covered the longest distance on the field, who won the most balls, etc..
One last thing: how do I activate the switching wings option?
proxnet 24-09-2005, 12:57:PM the keyboard commands will only be there in the text mode.....whilst playing text mode go to keyboard configuration and then out there you will be able to tell players to switch wings/hold ball/long ball/clearance etc.
Oh man I can't wait for it, I'm checking everything up to be sure I've seen everything in the demo :D. Come on EA, give us a date!
proxnet 25-09-2005, 05:00:PM it oct. 10th if i'm not mistaken :)
edit:i feel it's high time that the mods open up a FIFA Manager 06 Forum.
rpvankasteren 26-09-2005, 12:09:AM Yes, good idea.
proxnet 26-09-2005, 03:57:AM finally a new forum has been opened up :)
btw yes i think it is releasing in the 1st wk of oct. arnd the relsease of fifa 06.
Lets start posting individual topics now that there is a forum guys. Thanks.
