Strangely, Real Madrid's senior department have been showing a tendency to pull this trick lately... Bunch of whores.

I think this is super unfair for those who went through the qualifying stages and now see their place taken by some rehashed player.

I think he gets that he wont be playing that much with Madrid, and that he'll be on the bench some. Thus he'll have time for france. Just like what Figo did

TheBlueBalla
03-08-2005, 04:38:PM
Its not that bad for Real Madrid: many of peoples lineups for the upcoming season have him sitting on the bench for god's sake.

It'll be fantastic to see Zizou back in the blue. The guy is about as legendary as it gets for country, and Im sure his experience can get the French ship back on course

Why do you blame Real Madrid? Its Zidane who choose playing for France or not. Aswell Figo. Real Madrid cant do anything about that.

The man is sitting on the bench because of his physical shape, he is just too old and he cant handle it now. He gets tired more often now so it would be better to start someone else and have him come off the bench.

Also INFESTA its not anyone is forcing them to go back to their NT, its there personal chioce. If you should be pissed at anyone, be pissed at the coach's of the NT for letting them have their spots on the team back.

Who said Madrid was responsible?
You seem to lack the abbility to interpret a simple phase. Now learn with me:
Madrid's senior department = have beens playing for Madrid (namely Figo and Zidane)
tendency to pull this trick lately = coming back from NT retirement. I was referring to Figo.
[Btw, you're getting a card because I don't like randoms insulting anyone, much less me.]

Socrates: who said anything about being forced? :| If they were being forced to do anything I wouldn't call them whores, would I?
I agree with you on one thing, though: the NT managers should give an example by not calling them. [Wouldn't it be great if a player returned from retirement but wasn't called again?]

Drvar
03-08-2005, 05:38:PM
you do realise that players return from retirement because the NT coaches ask them to, atleast in most cases?

I'm with Infesta on this. As much as I apreciate Zidane, when he said he wanted to retire from the NT and had every right to do so, he should've thought deeply on it. This is a disrespect for the players who're working hard for a place on the NT, and then because Zidane wants to return, even if his intentions are good - to help the team, at least one player supposly younger than him has to leave the team.

Zidane will not carry the team on his shoulders, and France needed to have someone by now to replace him (of course not as good as him, at least yet). Zidane won't last forever and he's already 33 and his quality of play arguably decreased now, as it's normal. I'd be more worried to find a replacement for him and to integrate that player on the team.

I blame the coach though, it must've been him who contacted the player, as he did with other players who are also going back, such as Makelélé.

I just think this all thing with going back with your decisions shouldn't be carried so softly, it's like this is just a game, just for laughs.

Yes, of course. They wouldn't risk a comeback without being assured they'd play. Still, I'd love to see them not being called up, just for the total disrespect they show for their team mates who were there all steps of the way.

The greatest player of my time was Maradona, followed far behind by Zizou, then by Ronaldo and a few others. But that's another story.

No no no, What the hell is he doing...this is exactly why he had a bad year at Madrid. At his age he should concentrate on only one team, now it's another year of a "tired-injured-below top level" Zidane...

He should retire from playing football in Europe completely right this minute and pray to Allah for forgiveness of his incalculable follies. He's subject to the whims and fancies of the MAN....shackled down by the WHITE MAN's rules everytime he laces up his boots for either Real or for the adopted country of his parents. He should migrate back to Algeria and open up a madrassa/Mosque and pass his skills down to the younguns of his Fatherland.

Good news for France (Y) Zidane takes the good decision. He's still performing, he'll really help us to qualify. It looks easier now, but we've to be careful. Makélélé and Thuram are back too, it's important to get more experience with these players. Thuram did an amazing season with Juve last year, I'm happy to see him back :)

For Eire-France, the team should looks like that: Coupet - Sagnol, Thuram, Boumsong, Gallas - Makelele, Vieira, Rothen - Zidane - Henry, Wiltord.

Zidane has already said that he'll play WC 2006 in Germany if les Bleus succeed in qualifying. He missed 2002's one because of an injury, he wants to show he's still one of the best player at present.

"Zinedine Zidane has claimed a 'mysterious voice' persuaded him to come out of international retirement and join up with the France team for the remainder of their World Cup qualifying campaign.

'One night, at 3am, I suddenly woke up and I then spoke with someone. But no-one knows it. Neither my wife nor anyone else.

'Until I die I will never tell (who that person was), this is just too crazy. This is someone that you will probably never meet."

This is sth weird.... who could be this mysterious voice? God? Jesus? some mafia dude? or was he just hallucinating?

He's just probably having an affair with some dude. That's why he doesn't want us to know it. Bah, he's probably schizophrenic.

I don't think that's right. Zidane said that it's a personal decision and nobody forced him to play again with France. He feels good at 33 and think he could help France.

And this morning, he says that the 'mysterious voice' was his brohter's voice..

Now just wait and see his games with us, he'll answer on the field. Zidane, Thuram and Makélélé will be back for friendly France-Ivory Coast next week.

Zidane said he wants to speak of his strange experience to put an end to speculation which suggest his return has been orchestrated purely for commercial or financial reasons.

It has been suggested that several sponsors as well as state television channel TF1 - who are transmitting the World Cup in France next year - have banded together to force Zidane's hand.

Zidane is sponsored by both the private television channel Canal Plus and telecommunications network Orange - and announced his decision to return on their websites following an initial announcement on his personal site.

He added: "Why am I telling you this? It's because I want to put an end to the unfounded rumours that are flying about.
