Brilliant result! Owen and Murphy with the goals, and we played some excellent football against a top team.

Who do we want in the semis?

Congratulations!!!

You certainly don't want Barcelona in the semis. That Murphy is one helluva player.

This Season Has Already Been a Succes:

English Premier League: 4th Place (Currently)
FA Cup: Atleast, Semi-Finalists
Worthington Cup: Champions

UEFA Cup: Atleast, Semi-Finalists

Didn't I said that Liverpool had this one on the bag? Brilliant choices... Paulinho Santos and our senior goalkeeper Pedro Espinha...

Damnit, sorry Danne, in future I will not post the score in my thread. I am always afraid of this myself, that's why on the day of a Liverpool match that is being shown tape delayed I never go on the internet! Anyways, I will be sure to say something like;

"Liverpool - Porto Final Score"

Just got back in from Anfield, great night, we were superb. What was Secratario doing? He was lying on the floor for 10 minutes feigning injury, he should have been sent off, we were going off our heads at him, anyway he got taken off after half time. Hyppia and Henchoz brilliant again, though the whole side was brilliant. Great atmosphere flares and noise plus credit goes to the Porto fans who at the beginning when You'll Never Walk Alone was sang with our scalfs in the air they put their scalfs in the air too and sang with us. Top fans.

Anyway i want Barca next round we should be able to see them off.

A well deserved win. What else would you expect with Hansen and Lawrenson as commentators and Dalglish and Rush in the stands? That little bit of history alone would have had me scared stiff as a Porto player.
To a certain Fifa-friend of mine: sorry it had to be, but it was your team or mine. Hope you get rid of the coach soon.

Cheers,

King Kenny.

Blame Milton Nielsen for that. Instead of waving his hand up for four minutes (not 10), he should have called the damn stretcher. Since 1986 that refs are forced to call it when a player is apparently injured. Red Card? By FIFA rules, pretending injury to "burn" time gives a yellow card, never a red.

King Kenny: I was already thinking it would end with a mixed up starting 11 at a decisive away game. Still, Liverpool played well, and deserved to win.

uuh.......I don't know?

Onto the UEFA Cup semi finals then..........

neutral.. you are right about the english media... did you hear what the commentator said about murphy's goal.. "it hit his left hand and then the right.. that definitely a hand ball.." whereas, i only saw that may be.. may be it hit only one of his hand... http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif

Amika,
I have a ton of examples already written down and bookmarked - when my exams and interviews are over (month after next) I'm going to post my essay about the not-so-subtle media conspiracy against LFC, foreign players (especially poor Patrick Viera), and everything that isn't Manchester United.

No offense to the United fans in this forum, it's not like they control the media.

Alaves in the semi-final then? They're still bloody good though, but I don't think they'd be as though as Barca or Leverkusen.

Aye that was a terrific match!

The whole side was brilliant. As for the next round, I want Kaiserslautern (one of the posts said Leverkusen but I think it is Kaiserslautern).

Although, I think it would be great to play Barca. As i said in an earlier post, we must not be afraid of anyone. Bring on the best and we will duly get rid of them.

Come on you Reds!

Rob

BRILLIANT FOOTBALL, i immensely enjoyed the game yesterday. Liverpool was playing like years ago, concentrated and sharp.
Owen played out of his skin during the first half and the cross by Gerrard was excellent.
Though i'm a Manchester-fan, this was great for English football in general.
Now let's hope Liverpool faces FC Kaiserslautern because then it's a sure thing that they will go through to the finals but if they face Barcelona (two great goals by Rivaldo yesterday), it will be hard to compete against them.
When Pool plays like yesterday, it could go either way...Well done!!

BTW: The fans were fantastic, singing as one voice gave me goosebumps. Beautiful and an example for most fans.

My only regret about playing Barca is that if Gerrard or tha Murph or one of the other great youngsters have the game of their lives, Barca have the resources to make us an offer we can't refuse at a time before the transfer regulations come through.

I think they're about the same, Stephane is very underappreciated and very underrated - his problem is that he makes everything look so easy. Just remember that early in the season when Stephane was having a spell of bad form, so was our defence.

For my money, if you excuse the first month of the season, Henchoz has been the best defender in the EPL this season.
