A Big step for Swedish football.
5-4 on aggregate against Maccabi Haifa from Israel!
in the 3rd round, they will face Thun who kicked out Dynamo Kyiv tonight.

it would be crazy if they made it to the group stage. :)

what happened to Malmo, they used to be a fairly strong European team. Past UEFA winners, no? I seem to remember them in a final or something when I was a kid? :(

very bad draw for UEFA personal :boohoo: ... These clubs like Thun, Malmo, Wisla Krakow, Anthosis and Petrzalka are very unprofitable for UEFA because sponsors will pay less for television rigts and advertisement...
hehehe, knows UEFA, they'll change law, and in next year big clubs will play against little clubs :ewan:

Just to clarify, Malmo played in the European Cup final in 1979. They went down to Brian Clough's Nottingham Forest by a 1:0 scoreline.

On the contrary I love seeing these clubs play. They are the clubs that you always hear about but never get to watch play (in north america atleast) and now with them making cl shiiit yesss I get to watch them play :D

thun played a fantastic season last year.

they have beaten basel 3 times (!!), became vice champions and reached the semi-finals in the swiss cup.

after the surprising last season a lot of players were transfered to bigger swiss clubs and thun had to replace them by no names. (they only have a budget of about 5 million €)

in test games they showed that they became even stronger and won against some big teams (herta bsc f.e.)

now switzerland has the chance to have to teams in champions league.
