View Full Version : No more Catenaccio - Udinese Story
Zlatan 11-08-2005, 09:35:PM Well, well, I'm back from vacation again. With vacation new inspiration(if you wanna call it that way) comes to you and so it was with this vacation aswell; I was in Italy and thought well I'm in the land of the boring Catenaccio(except for Milan with the golden three Dutchies) so let's try and make a revolution and play a kind of attacking football(not total-football, just a creative kind of football) with an Italian club.
Now there was the point where I had to choose a club to suit this goal. I didn't want one of the Italian big guns and the first club that then sprung to mind was Udinese, quite a few good players(Kroldrup, Jankulovski, Pizarro, Iaquinta) but in some places it needs improvement. All in all a great club to suit my needs.
Anyway after this long introduction this is what happened up until this point

I will give you a screenshot of my squad and tactics later on.
crazyrussin 12-08-2005, 12:45:AM May be try loaning Inzaghi?

 :sb9: :sb9:
Just get Mokoena or Holm, either of them should do fine. BTW Udinese have great DMCs so you should use that to your advantage.

Lol. Inzaghi killed your mom and raped your dead or something? So much negativism. He is decent for the frst two seasons as a back up striker. And Mokoena is more of an AMC kind of guy. It all depends what kind of money resourses are we talking here?
Zlatan 12-08-2005, 09:31:AM 2.6m but if the transfer of Bierofka succeeds only 1.8m...
Zlatan 12-08-2005, 01:17:PM Time Period: 1st August - 5th August 2005
Transfer News:
Bierofka transfer still not done(decide, you b*tch)
Offer for Jankulovski by Man Utd of 7.75m(Value of Jankulovski: 8.25m)
Changed offer to 10m directly + 5m monthly installments(6 months) + 20% percentage of next sale <waiting for response of Man Utd>
Match News:
Udinese v Everton
Venue: Friulli, Udinese
1st August 2005
Final score: 1-1
A pretty bad match if I may say so. Everton, beeing a regulation battler in FM, was better than me by far although we did get the first goal made by Fava Passaro with a header. Before this goal we were pressed very hard by Everton and after it we had a small period of domination but after the break Everton scored and we should be happy that they didn't make another one.
Next Match: Imortal v Udinese
As promised here's the squad and tactic as it was during the Everton match. I'll see how the next match against Imortal goes. If I find out we're having trouble with them aswell then I'll surely change my tactic again.

crazyrussin 12-08-2005, 06:11:PM You can get more than that for Jankulowski. And stick in the end of the season thingy in, so the transfer goes on July 1, 2006 :brow: . That guy will be gold for the next season or two.
Edit: Unless you need money of course right now
Zlatan 12-08-2005, 06:18:PM Well Jankulovksi is playing not very well in the friendly's I've seen him play and I need some money to buy some decent DC and as said before a striker aswell add that up to that he's whining about that 'I'm too inexpierenced to lead the club' and you can come to the conclusion that I'd better cash in on him.
PSVFOREVER 12-08-2005, 06:23:PM Cribari is always good in my games. He does lack pace and acceleration though, if I remember well.
Kroldrup is pretty good though, good marking heading tackling, pretty bad accelleration and pace, but that's been compensated by good positioning. Also his anticipation his good, nice for a defender to have good anticipation
crazyrussin 12-08-2005, 06:26:PM I think you should still keep him. They all whine a bit in the beggeining. And speaking of the striker... For that kind of money you only can get a young prospect, or some mediocer player that you will want to get rid of in a few seasons. You got so many quality center mids so y not use 4-5-1 for the first season and then once you got money look for a striker??
crazyrussin 12-08-2005, 06:29:PM Just get Kouffur if you need a center back - cheap and reliable
PSVFOREVER 12-08-2005, 06:47:PM For 10+5m later on, you can get Tevez, Cavenaghi, Olic or Podolski, about the best players in the game for that position. Not mediocre at all.
Zlatan 12-08-2005, 07:08:PM Exactly, wouldn't be all too bad, plus I just got an offer of 14m directly from Newcastle United.
Pieri is a good replacement for Jankulovski.

Well if you got ur mind made up on selling its a good option too. If you dont happen to get any of the big guns (Tevez, Podolski) check out Dagoberto, he got loads of potential too.
