Some interesting groups in the European draw. I don't know why people are making a big deal of Germany and England in the same group. Unless a miracle occurs England probably won't even make 2nd in the group. Romania and Italy in the same group will be interesting. Group 1 & 2 look the toughest. Group 1 has Yugo, Russia, Switzerland and Slovenia. Group 2 has the Dutch, Portugal and Ireland. What does everyone else think.

i think there is still a long way till 2002 and the team england send will be very different to current team. i think england will come 2nd in their group. we will have a better idea after euro2000.

I think even Greece will beat England.
As for Yugo, I think we got a good draw it's
a pitty that either Russia or Slovenia wont
be in the World Cup.

here is hoping FIFA one day allow Oceania to have their own qualifying place for the world cup. Dreams are free however

5 African teams are too much.

In WC98 of the 5 South American team, 4 pass the group phase.
Of the 4 African, only Nigeria.

Too political, but not fair. That should be for an Oceania or another Asian team.

The Netherlands have potentially one of the best teams in the world. It depends on how they and Portugal perform in Euro 2000.

Andorra, Estonia, and Cyprus shouldn't be any problem for the Dutch. Ireland can be a dangerous outsider, but in the last 3 times Holland and Ireland have met, The Dutch literally played them of the park.

Portugal will I think be the only tough challenger for the Dutch. I think direct qualification is assured for them. This group is not tough at all.
