View Full Version : WHOS THE BEST DRIBBLER IN THE WORLD?? Kewell the Jewell 23-04-2001, 02:34:PM I know its a hard question but 2 players come to my mind Jay Jay Okacha Ryan Giggs Alessandro 23-04-2001, 08:27:PM A simple answer to a simple question: FIGO!!! notes: But still RAUL rules!!!!!!!!!!!!he's the best and most complete player and again REAL MADRID will win this years Champions League, greetings to all the Barca fans (haha, Barca is ****, and you know it, doesn't that hurt?) PhiLLer 23-04-2001, 10:26:PM When Giggs is at his best there's no one that come near him as far as dribbling the ball goes.Just as an example, take the Semi leg replay versus Arsenal in 1999, Giggs picked up the ball on the halfway line and ran(with the ball) the half length of the pitch beating 4 arsenal players on the way to goal and all that in 13 seconds!!!! That is damn fast Can't stop the rush... 24-04-2001, 11:58:AM I agree When it comes to dribbling and pace: It's Giggs. :D GABRIEL 24-04-2001, 03:03:PM Maradona, at his prime. He also dribbled from halfway line and scored in the WC. The FIFA RTWC Webmaster 25-04-2001, 02:05:AM I have to agree with Gabriel that Maradona was the greatest... In today's football/soccer I put my money on Ariel Ortega. He's awesome when at his best. It's a shame he never really made it here in Europe... I hope he'll get his revenge in the next World Cup! A new interesting player is Zlatan Ibrahimovic of Malmö in Sweden. He will soon be playing in Ajax and will be making his 3:rd cap tomorrow against Switzerland at the age of 19, but this time with the real national team for the first time! He's an incredible dribbler atleast compared to his Swedish fellows. He's got an interesting future... J@MES 25-04-2001, 06:03:AM i saw jay jay Okacha in the world cup and he was really good ryan giggs is good too when he runs in and out adilust 27-04-2001, 08:34:PM Everyone agreed on GIGGS, so he's the best.. The FIFA RTWC Webmaster 04-05-2001, 08:32:PM Ehh... I didn't see everyone agree... flyer884 05-06-2001, 05:48:AM FIGO Can't stop the rush... 05-06-2001, 10:33:AM GIGGGGGSSSS El_GaLLo 05-06-2001, 07:28:PM Maradona was the best of all time but right now I like Riquelme, he's a good dribbler. Can't stop the rush... 05-06-2001, 11:16:PM Yeah i seen him in some games and hes pretty good. :D kenzo 06-06-2001, 04:40:AM What are u mad? have u ever heard someone called Figo, or Zidane or Rivaldo? Those are the best dribblers!!! Giggs can be pretty fast but his tecnic isn´t even comparable to them! i´m sory, but that´s true!! and what about you "CAN´T STOP THE RUSH..."? If u r spanish you probably watch many games of the spanish league and i´m sure that you have seen a lot of players much better than giggs dribbling, haven´t you? Can't stop the rush... 06-06-2001, 12:42:PM Yes i have.... But i still say Giggs is the best "Dribbler". Alirio A 15-06-2001, 01:45:AM One of the best dribblers in the world is Riquelme of Boca Juniors. He is a very talented player; last night I had the chance to see the match Boca Juniors-Palmeiras and his opponents had a very hard time trying to stop him, they could not take the ball away from him. the final score was 2-2, but Boca classified to the final by penlty kicks. Can't stop the rush... 15-06-2001, 02:05:AM Yeah Riquelme is good too. :D El_GaLLo 15-06-2001, 08:50:AM I think Riquelme is the best dribbler in the world. After seen last night's game and the final vs Real Madrid and seeing him every weekend in Argentine league...This guy is A W E S O M E. He should play in the National team. rumanu? 16-06-2001, 03:00:AM The best dribbler in the world? One of the best of all time is Maradona. I reckon probably Ortega, maybe McManaman on his day. Chris the_man 16-07-2001, 07:11:PM comparing some dribblers is like comparing apples with oranges. Giggs is a weaver. He can make a defender fall down weaving in and out when he is running at you. Okocha is a trickster. u just don't know what the **** he is going to pull out of the hat next Figo is a master. Ball just sticks to his feet and no matter what you do to get it away, u just can't Maradona just left his defenders standing. He is the kind of dribbler that he will weave sometimes, trick you other times and the ball stays on his feet. He had drugs to help out ofcourse (what a shame). ZePenguin 02-08-2001, 01:43:PM I dont think drugs help you to keep the ball on your feet... the_man 03-08-2001, 06:47:AM Originally posted by ZePenguin: I dont think drugs help you to keep the ball on your feet... Gives you energy to do all the combinations and to do it all day long. We all know that british players have no technical skills. All they ever do is play long balls, run fast and be physical in every match. I agree with you when you say that at his prime Jay Jay pulled off some amazing moves, but the best dribbler of all time has to be Garrincha from Brazil. Currently I'd say Buonanotte from River Plate is the best dribbler. Arnau 12-12-2008, 04:54:PM mmmm 23-04-2001, 03:34:PM i dont think he is here anymore xD Hans 13-12-2008, 03:41:AM You must be hopped up on something if you think than Ryan Giggs is the best dribbler in the world. We all know that british players have no technical skills. All they ever do is play long balls, run fast and be physical in every match. Well yes, most of them are like that, but Giggs was just something different. Also you do realize that his post was made more than 7 years ago when Giggs was arguably one of the best (if not the best) dribblers in the world right? bybuti 13-12-2008, 09:49:AM Raul for Messi Raul: “The other day I saw one of his games. He was running with the ball at a hundred percent full speed, I don’t know how many touches he took, maybe five or six, but the ball was glued to his foot. It’s practically impossible!" Nady 14-12-2008, 08:55:PM Thats his style of play to get past defenders. he uses his speed, plays simple and effective, rather than flashing with cross overs or other skills. One of the best dribbler in his time. farmboy 14-12-2008, 09:16:PM Sure he could get by people but it was only by cutting in and out, there's no crossovers or other skills. if you can keep the ball as magnetically locked onto your foot as giggs can at a full sprint, you don't need crossovers. Azrael 15-12-2008, 06:29:PM Overmars. darkprince1711 22-12-2008, 07:14:AM Although I'm a fan of Cristiano Ronaldo and Giggs (he has a pair of clever legs) but I must say that the best dribbler is either Maradona or Messi, Messi has advante that he's small and has "magic legs", I can remember that in a certain game, he past over 3 or 4 players (sorry, maybe my English is bad :D) abyPREDATOR 23-12-2008, 01:18:PM Kobe Bryant ... C.Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Messi. Gunnersgoal22 26-12-2008, 02:31:AM The greatest dribblers who dribble with speed and run at people well imo are: 1. Messi 2. Robben 3. Ronaldo Henry used to be the best in the world at running at people and maybe one day Walcott will be. In terms of dribblers with just great overall skill with the ball and aren't as fast are: 1. Figo 2. Hleb 3. Ronaldo I think Ronaldo is a special dribbler because of his combination of skill and pace, which could be said is why he is the best in the world. brunomarmos7 26-12-2008, 05:09:PM 1. Messi 2.
