Because Fiorentina need major cashige right now because of bankrupcy problems, and as a result are selling all their best players. Toldo, Rui Costa are already gone, and Chiesa and Gomes will soon follow.

I think they will struggle to defeat relegation. They're in the UEFA cup due to winning the Coppa Italia. I think they'll get knocked out. Could the same happen to Real? They seem to be having money problems. They did sell their training ground, yet where will they train now?

Gomes ain't going to United, Real Madrid or any other club. When it's all said and done he will either go to Benfica or most likely to Sporting because they are still doing horrible (even with Jardel) and want another striker.

It's a well known fact that Gomes has been looking for a move back to portugal and it will most likely be with one of the two lisbon clubs.

There is also rumors that he might be heading to Porto. (After all, he is Nuno Ribeiro "Gomes"... Gomes was the captain of the glorious late 80's team :D). He is said to be a born Portista... I just wonder if Porto is willing to pay the price for him...

Well, Porto HAS the money... Jardel didn't signed mostly for contractual reasons. And no, I don't know that Benfica was so damn rich. You can sign players while mob-mastah Veiga is on your side, but if by some reason he gets pissed off with LFV of Vilarinho, you can kiss your ass goodbye, as all expensive players will not renew contracts (well, the ones young enough to renew, that is :p). It happened with Porto, it might well happen to Benfica.

And as I say, I wonder if Porto is willing to spend the money. You know, Champions League gives an AWFUL lot of cash :D ...UEFA too, but Benfica isn't there to cash in (well, actually if they were, they would cash the same ;))
