Can you tell me how you got your PS2 convertor working? I have a strange problem where it is thinking I have 2 pads plugged in, but I only have one. It is representing the convertor as one pad, and the actual pad as another.

1-Go to device manager (control pannel -> system -> hardware -.device manager)
2-Look for Psx gamepad 2 right click on it then choose disable .

Push ur right analog stick in the direction u are running while you are sprinting, your player will push the ball out a few yards while running.

How you make low shot? In Uefa Cl you had to press twice on shot button... but seems that in 06 doesn't work...

you can also do a trick which cristiano ronaldo always does which he left the ball behind diagonally.. instead of running and press shift+back..press shift+diagonally back..

An easy way to drrible in 1 on 1 is hold still the moon walk button then when the defender is close to you press and other direction .

Press L2 when the ball is arriving at the player and he will let the ball pass through his legs as we saw in one XBOX video footage. I'm descovering a lot of moves, everytime i play the game it seems even better and less scripted, another thing i've discovered is that pressing shot button after the shot (or twice i'm not sure) when you have space the player makes a powerful shot, still not know how to make low shots...

when ur player doesn't run I mean standing in his place with the ball, hold shift then press any direction u want, u will find 3 moves, 1st one when u press the back button, it's Ronaldo's move, 2nd one when u press the forward button it's a fake shot (not like the one with Z "cancel button"), 3rd one the right and left button, the player will move his body to the left or right as he's going to these sides, it's like fake moves.

he catches it again but if u use it at the right time, this move is to fake the opponent behind u, try to use it with ur FWs, then u'll find urself 1 to 1 vs the keeper ;)

I don't know, if you understand me, but in fifa 06, i cant shoot evenness the floor. th ball allways goes high. Even you push the shoot button quikly.

Don't you make a lob with this?

For a low shot just tap the shoot button. You must be facing the goal though. If you're not it will be very weak. But if you are facing the goal and are just outside the 18 yard box, you can just tap shoot and it will be low and hard.

Any one knows a way to past the last defender in 1 on 1 situation and not by the moon walk button cuz it slows the attack .

previously someone talked about these moves i'm going to talk about but not very clearly (in my opinion).

When not moving at all, If you press the button with which you hold the ball, and then you press any of the right analog stick direction, you'll see several fake movements.

However, i don't find this very useful. In real life it would be more. it is rather something you use to look nice or to mock your friends playing with you.

Another thing,

While pressing the 'hold the ball button' turn to one side for a little bit and then (without releasing the 'hold the ball button') to the other (now you can let go the 'hold the ball button') is usually good to pass a defender close to the side lines, so then you can cross the ball. In the center field this "trick" is not so effective.

When i want to make a low shot (close the half-moon area) usually i tap the shot button twice, and it works fine. Shooting while pressing the simulation button is not so good because sometimes it performs a fake shot or a dribble instead of shooting.

To curl in a free kick you just have to move the right analog stick to one side, so the player gets sideways to the ball. i don't know, though, if it is possible to curl also while the ball is on the air.

theres some pretty cool moves in the game,but the defender always steal the ball so it doesnt matter what move i do! maybe i learn how to do soon,cause i have always used the nhl buttons so...im a beginner with a,s,d (H) ;) :P

Apologises if this has been posted before I am new to the forum and the game for that matter, so feel free to call me a NOOB if you get the urge.

More of a dirty trick than a tip I discovered last night in the Fifa Lounge.

Clicking down (and moving) the right hand thumbstick in game creates a variety of silly sound effects ranging from an old fashioned rattle, an air-horn and out of tune trumpet etc. The longer you hold it down the longer some of them last. The trumpet is a good one. The beauty is you can use any of the 4 plugged in controllers to make these noises even if you are not playing in the current game, great for causing distractions. I managed to totally put off my mate last night as he had a one-on-one with the keeper. He lost his composure as air-horn blasted out just before he hit shoot and I wasn't even playing the game. :clapwap:. Dirty tactics I know but quite funny.

Now I realise that 'Crazy Sound Effects' can be purchased in game but even with this turned off in the game options these noisy distractions can still be used, in the lounge at least not tried in any other games. Someone else may be able to explain this with a little more detail and point out that I am an idiot ;)

i don't know how did i this trick. but its amazing. i have done that 3 times but i as i remember i didn't pressed any button! really! i think its couse big class players can do that!

so another good trick is when you want to lob the ball from corner side just press A twice

for a low shot, press the pass button and left or right on the directional controls. be careful, cause its easy to miss wide. i don't know if this was intentional by the developers or not, but i like it better becuase it's harder than 2005 and more realistic. in 2005, 1 on 1 with the keeper was almost automatic with the low shots.

you know the dummy button -- have any of you dummied it then ran round the defender? Also can you nut meg?

I'm just not yet getting how to score killer free kicks yet. I had it nicely sorted in 2005 and now the system changes!
Please give me some good advice!

if you press up (left analog stick) the shot will be lower but stonger. if you press down (left analog stick) the shot will be higher but not as strong. the ideal would be somewhere in the middle (depending where you're shooting from) not to hit the barrier and to beat the GK.

With the right analog stick, turn let and right to curve the ball.

For really stong shots, but not as acurate, press the button you use the make the pressing during the game and the shot button.

I´d also like to know which setting of the "automatic playerchange" in the controller settings you guys use. I am asking because I always played FIFA 2005 with this setting adjusted to the minimum, which kept my defenders from leaving their positions. In FIFA 06 I have the feeling that adjusting to miniumum keeps attacking players from getting activited when the ball is approaching them, which stops them to go towards the ball?!
Anybody has experience with this, or or hot tip?!

Second how do you guys manage to shoot in the corners of the goal. Somebody told me to do it like in NHL 2006 and aim to the corners with the left stick, but it seems I have to aim after the shot is released and not while shooting like in NHL - any hints on this as well?!

Im having trouble curling the ball from direct free kicks.
Im using a keyboard and the right analogue control is shift+arrows. It says its supposed to increase the players angle on the ball but graphically all it does is exactly the same as when you are aiming with the left stick (ie. the player doesnt move at all, just the viewpoint). And inevitably when i shoot i have no curl. Ive read the manual, and the shif button works for all the other functions its supposed to but just not for this.....am i doin something wrong? can anyone give me a step by step if they can work it? with a keyboard?

The way i have got it working is by not installing the Saitek software. I just let windows install it (SP2 recognises it fine, and i think SP1).

Then i play FIFA 06 with no gamepad problems at all.

dunno if this has already been answered later on but if it hasnt its simple, just tap shoot when ur in shooting range, it won't work if you're miles out but if you're in and around the box just tap shoot and he'll fire a low shot.

I have only been able to done a scissors kick twice, one in game and one in practice. I think, just when the ball is reaching you, you might have to tap shoot while pushing back. I have tried this (Xbox) but it seems that's not it. But that is all I did when I did the scissors kick.

Also, a lot of people get mixed up when curling free kicks. You have to move your player to an angle where it will help him curl the shot, but that's not all, when you shoot, you still have to move the Right Stick (Xbox) to either left or Right. You need to know as well what foot your player shoots with, I played people who, when given the kick, try to shoot a right curve with a left kicker, WTF? I mean, no offense, and yeah of course it's possible, but it's way better if you ride along with the same side, lol. Just some advice. In my practice of this, I can clearly say that, doing all this, gets me 3 out of 5 free kicks into the net. But a lot of times, the ball hits the upper bar then goes in. And, if you are playing against the computer, the goalie, for some strange reason, will be able to block most of your shots when you have it on the highest difficulty level (What is it, World Master or something like that?) But that doesn't make it impossible to make the shot. I honestly can say that I dunno why you might need a second player to touch the ball before you shoot, must have its reason, but I don't use it.

i've noticed that while the ball is in the air and u use the skill stick, it flicks the ball over the guys head so u've beaten him and on ur way to attack

Do you mean push the Skill Stick, or flick it. I've gotten that "Over The Head" Trick once or twice, never looked how I did it, though. I've also noticed, in contraire to popular belief, that if you shoot and accidentally pass the blue bar, quickly press again and the CPU will go with your second shot and most of the time, it is low to mid air type at full speed. Sweet. I only wished this work for free kicks. >_<

And has anyone noticed that when you cross and your player jumps and misses the ball, he may take a dive? I honestly believe EA tought about this and made the animation but didn't put it on the Refs code of conduct list.

Is there a way to receive a ball and push it up with you chest to keep in mid air for a chance of a scissors kick?

180° Bicycle Kick: make a lob pass from the midfield, stay with your back toward the the goal line and type D.
Chest pass: make a lob pass and type S before you receive the ball.
Fake Shot: two new movements added to the original one. Press together Z + D.
New dribbling added
Forward Flick: Shift + Ahead Arrow while the ball is in movement
Quick Sole Touch + Other Internal Foot: Shift + Left Arrow (or Right Arrow) while the ball is in movement
Heel touch behind the other leg: Shift + Left Arrow (or Right Arrow) while the ball is in movement
Ronaldinho’s Elastico: two ways, Shift + Ahead Arrow while the ball is in movement or Shift + Right Arrow while the ball is stopped

On one on one situations I usually try to round the keeper and score with a low shot...but still hard to do with defenders on ur tail

even I play in WC mode with NK's gameplay update V6 installed so that makes scoriing a bit harder on 1v1 when the GK is charging

BTW i still havent mastered the 360 spin--long gone are those days when the 360 spin was donr using a single button ALT ...in fifa 2001 precisely

even in prcatice mode i just move the fingers of my right hand on all the arrow keys and one finger is on the Shift button and then he does it...but i dont have too much confidence...
so can u help me..u seem to be a champ at that

I hate that, when the ball is headed towards your keeper and it doesn't get to the box, he stands there and waits until your defense or rival gets close before blasting it off. Quite idiotic.

And, even some people may contradict this, your keeper is worthless at times. Because, there have been times when the ball is between my keeper and rival forward and my keeper will just follow the player and throw himself at the ball only after the forward kicks.

Use goalkeeper charge (w on pc) and the keeper will shoot the ball

love playing with my brother and use GK charge when he is far away, he is super precise and it never becomes a freekick though it should. :) :)

Um, I don't know how to doa 360 for PC, but, there is this Tips and Tricks manual for PC available on the FIFA 06 site, it's one of the top downloads, you should really check it out, explains all the tricks.

On the goal keeper charge, what I mean is that if I charge my keeper he may walk close to the ball and stop. No touching. He waits for either your defense or rival to get close before either kicking it off or grabbing it.
