I stand second in the serie A with AS Roma in second season. Now I had to play Chievo they stand 17th with something like 4 games won from 24 games.
I had a weird match and lost 2/1 because of an own goal and a penalty. So I though I want to replay the match . I played the match 6 times over with different tactics and players and I lose everytime!! How can that be? When I score a goal they score like in 2 minutes back omg :jap:
I mean their players would not pass the reserves at my team...
So it seems that I cant win once the fm says I must lose :nape:
Have any1 els had something like this? You cant say that its bad luck or something ?

Man, don't restart that's lame and not realistic. That ruins the whole idea of the game IMO

skils and luck. I got pissed just like that once. I dont remember what game. Cm01/02 or CM4. It was a final (dunn remember what competition) I had keept loosing and loosing all the time. until, i think it was the 20th time (at the very least...) I won the game. after winning i found it too lame winning like that and played, and yes, lost the game and moved on. I believe, from what i remember from reading something about the CM game engine in the past, each game gets simulated, so basicaly its finished b4 u start it. Pre-decided. That only happens if no change to the tactics players etc takes place. If a change does occur, the game gets everything into concideration again, all the data it needs and and simulates the game again. So all we see in the 2nd engine have already "happened" We just see em slowly. Having that in mind i make quite a few times non important changes to my tactics, or by changing players, even ones that play extremely well, when the game doesnt seem to go well for me. Has helped me quite a lot and i'd say i probably manage to win a few extra points every season that way.

Yeah I was thinking about something like that ,but still how do they simulate that a ****ty Chievo can beat me :fool:
Oh well I guess I just should move on .Damn in 3 weeks I lost to Atalanta{14} andChievo {17} .There goes my championship :boohoo:

Team struggles in the league, cup, etc. Person playing FM 2005 gets pissed, posts in the FM 2005 forum at SG. Amazingly gets this exact same reply from me. Person goes back, plays FM 2005 some more. Person's team gets a lucky win. Confidence increases. Team gets better results. All is well, you go back to playing FM and masterbating, I have a diet Pepsi.

There you go...

eh?

@D-12
I had an awfull EPL start with my team in 08/09, was 11 pts behind and then managed to finished the last 3/4ths of the championship without loosing (just a couple of tied games) and won the league. You never know... (tho im prety sure that even if i tried another 100 times that wouldnt happen again) :p

Well I had the opesite of that .I started very good but now its getting worse for some reason . If Cassano dont change his mind about getting new contract then I have to get 2 new strikers {Balaban and Pizzini or Gilardino}.
Then it will get good again iI guess :jap:

Roma sucks anyway, they were closer to relegating than the CL

I'm afraid I can ;)

Seriously though I'm guessing that your team is having a 'bad hair' (or form) day generally ... possibly combined with a certain amount of over-confidence (if your players aren't particularly professional this can cause serious problems when you're on a good run now and again).

If you find a similar match slipping away from you in the future ensure you've a couple of promising 'kids' on the bench and bring one on at half-time, it'll normally shake the complacency out of the other experienced players as it reminds them that they aren't automatic choices and can be replaced.

(oh and its easier to do this sort of thing in FM2006 because you can go ballistic at them come the half-time team talk ;) )

forever plugging the latest incarnation :D

Thing is, i do wonder how much things like bringing on youngsters to shake up the older players confidence actually effects things, i mean i cant say ive ever noticied it but i'd like to think its in there somewhere :D

after the first two seasons FM is not realistic regardless of replaying games.

I disagree, it only gets more realistic with the more season you play, realistic doesn't mean it got to happen just like it should IRL no it means that there are new players that stand up(regens), talents get evolved and become superstars, new surprising transfers etc.. That is something that happens IRL too.

And if you restart you might able to say proudly: 'I won the league without losing a game' but if you've restarted every game you should've actually relegated rather than becoming champions.

quite right.

Matches aren't programmed, but every situation is calculated seperately. Calculations are based on player stats/morale/condition/fitness, etc, and tactics, and many percentages and likelihoods. The 2d engine shows events after they actually happened. Any change you make to your tactics / players will lead to different outcomes. Every outcome also has an impact on the next event.

If you keep reloading and losing to a team, it's probably because you're not as good at that point in time, or because your tactic plainly sucks.
