Happy new season to all!!!!!!!
Another year, another thread for fonts. Fortunately numbers structure hasn't changed much since last year.
So let's begin with rules: NO REQUESTS.
Then a guide (once and for all) to install fonts in the game. :jambo:
This year I'll post directly the fsh files, no bmp anymore. This will facilitate numbers installation but won't let you see a preview of the fonts before installing... Therefore I would ask to the many good ssmakers down here (Silencer I'm not talking about you :) , I'm joking of course :lui: ) to take some photos of the numbers I post.

HOW TO INSTALL NUMBERS.

This guide will show a step by step installation for numbers, beginning from the bmp files. If you already have the fsh files, just skip the first fase.

Let's install, for instance, AC Milan fonts (the golden for home and the red one for away kit).
I suggest to install them with these IDs:

Gold: 699
Red: 700

In zdata09.big (placed in FIFA 06/data folder) you'll find these 4 files:

Jersey's numbers:

t70__699.fsh

t70__700.fsh

Shorts' numbers:

t80__699.fsh

t80__700.fsh

Use Rinaldo's File Master 06 to locate and extract them in a working folder (such as C:\temp). You can get this great tool here:

Then open the fsh files with fshtool. You can get it at http://www-math.mit.edu/~auroux/software/
Doing so will create a folder for each file, named as the file itself.
You'll find 3 files in each folder:

0000.bmp -> it's the coloured file with numbers

0000-a.bmp -> it's the alpha file (black and white)

index.fsh -> a generated file with info on the fsh file

Replace 0000.bmp and 0000-a.bmp with AC Milan ones. Please note that the 0000-a.BMP file is a 8-bit file (greyscale). If you have a 24-bit file you should convert it to 8-bit with a graphic editor.

After that double click on index.fsh (opening it with fshtool again) to export the data back from the folder to the fsh file.
Now you have the updated fsh file.

Do this for all the fonts you need to update (the same work must be done for jersey numbers and shorts numbers).

Now you should have 4 update fsh files in C:\temp, right?
This is the point you're starting from if you want to install my fsh files.

To import them back to zdata09.big you must use, guess what??? Rinaldo's File Master 06 of course!!! Browse the folders until you find zdata09.big and import the 4 files, overwriting the existing ones.

The last step is to update the links in the fifa database between team and respective numbers IDs.
To do this you can either use Creation Centre 06 or UniDB v4.00.

With CC 06 simply browse the italian Serie A league, choose AC Milan, go in the "Kits" window and put the following values in the forms:

for home kit in "Jersey No. Color ID" put 699, in "Short No. Color ID" put 699

for away kit in "Jersey No. Color ID" put 700, in "Short No. Color ID" put 700

for gk kit in "Jersey No. Color ID" put 699, in "Short No. Color ID" put 699

To change name colors put 11 in "Name Colour" for the home and gk kit and put 20 for the away kit.

With UniDB v4.00 export the mdb file of your database, open it with Excel, open the "table_teamkits" table, go on the lines "047", which are those for AC Milan team and change the values in the columns "jerseynumbercolorid" and "shortsnumbercolorid" as follows:

for home kit (line 047, "kittype" 0): in "jerseynumbercolorid" put 699, in "shortsnumbercolorid" put 699

for away kit (line 047, "kittype" 1): in "jerseynumbercolorid" put 700, in "shortsnumbercolorid" put 700

for gk kit (line 047, "kittype" 2): in "jerseynumbercolorid" put 699, in "shortsnumbercolorid" put 699

To change name colors go in the "namecolor" column and write 11 for home and gk kit and 20 for away kit.

Close Excel, import the mdb file back into the game with UniDB and the work is done!

Now, after the lesson :jambo: , the fonts!
In the font title I'll write in parenthesis the number ID for "namecolor". For example AC Milan home will use color n° 11, which is gold.

If you really want people to use your great fonts i think you should post them as fsh. files like DakaTotal and Curswine do!

And people...there ARE a progam that let you edit whitch fontnumber your team is using http://perso.wanadoo.fr/lu.idf/

I just think it would be a shame if only a few people actually get your great fonts in the game... personally i just coulden't play with teams like Marseille and Milan without them :)

And for those still in doubt.. use file master to import the fsh. file it works a charm and make sure you don't get any font clashes!

Here I come back with the new old fashioned Adidas font for national teams. I give you a zip file containg fsh files to be imported in game with Rinaldo's File Master 06. Remember to update the fonts matchings with CC 06, following the instructions written in the txt cointained in the zip file. :jambo:

Here's the new Puma font for Italy, which suits with the new kits for 2006 WC. I'm posting a zip file containing the home and away fonts, for jersey and shorts. Remember to update the name color with CC06, which has to be gold (11) for home and gk kit and black (2) for away kit.

nice font that u make r excellent.... but i got a problem... when i imort the font like what u have mention... n i use the cc 06 to assign the number but when i play the the color that i assign dun match with the 1 i want...

for example team A is using the red adidas font while team B is using the yellow adidas but when i play the game the font is all red if team A is the host. even the team B which is yellow but now become red...

how can i solve this problem???

Yes I'm going to make it for sure, but first I need to find good pics of all 10 numbers, which I don't have yet. :rolleyes:

In particular I miss numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 0 for Brazil.

Well mate it's not easy at all making a patch to install fonts, cause don't just have to import them in the .big files, but you have also to update your fifa.db file by linking the font to the correct team.
So just follow the guide I wrote in 2005:

Here it is, but it's not golden, it's the font they use in italian Serie A matches with the home shirt. I made it only for jersey, cause it doesn't exist for shorts.

Well actually I restarted making fonts now only because many general fonts are born in this period, such as Puma, Adidas and Nike.

Well mates I'm pretty confused on this new Nike font. I was making it following Brazil's pics, but then I saw that Russia and Portugal (always Nike teams) have different fonts. So the question is: what is the official generic new Nike font for 2006?

Always make a backup of the .big file you're editing.
I think you could replace the broken .big file by copying the original one from the cd. The .big files on the cd are in the file "compressed.zip". I hope you didn't add any new file in the broken .big file, cause in that case you'll have to import those file again.

Very useful link Cripek! I didn't know that so many fonts were already made, that's a hard job. The only thing is that saving them as .png doesn't help me much, cause they open as a unique layer, without different objects... Anyway they'll be useful! :jap: :) :rockman:

I think it's really cool you've started making fonts again, that was one of the only thing missing in there.
Anyway that made me think I might start doing some fonts again.
About the png thing, the background is theoritically transparent so u should be able to isolate the numbers one by one but the thing is they're quite samll so u have to increase their size and u lose quality there but I don't know if there's a solution besides redrawing them in vector files

Never tried that tool, anyway I did never had a crash on my game due to CC06 or Unidb 4.0. Just use what you like the most! :rockman: :ewan:

The numbers of the new Adidas font are composed by four lines very narrow to each other, as you can see from this photo. I don't understand why the white color doesn't work with you, try to re-download the Adidas font pack and re-install all the colors. BTW Silencer posted some screenies of Adidas font in white, so I think it should work well and looks good too.

Fifa 2004 fonts are the same format as Fifa 2005 and Fifa 06: they are all .fsh files. The only change is in the name: in Fifa 06 fonts are called "playerkittexobj.texobj463104248046875__texture0474 54833984375__XXX.fsh" for jersey and "playerkittexobj.texobj463104248046875__texture5455 322265625__XXX.fsh" for shorts, where XXX is the ID font number. So you can rename my fonts for Fifa 06 with that kind of names and you have to import them in the big files with a program. I don't rememeber which one I used for Fifa 2004, but maybe fifafs will work. See this guide to find some more details:

Finally I discovered that Australia, Croatia, Brazil and Belgium wear all the same Nike font, which, for this reason, I think it's supposed to be the main new Nike font for 2006 and maybe it'll be worn even by club teams next year.
So I decided to give a specific space for the whole color numeration (1-22) to this new Nike font. Brasil and Australia fonts are particular, since they are colored in green 48 and green 49, while in the standard numeration only green 47 appears. To understand completely have a look at this color scheme I made:

Well mate I assure you the problem is not with the fsh files I posted in the zip. They are all tested and correct. If you imported them with Filemaster 06 I can only remember you to assign the correct font ID to the right team. Then have a look with CC 06 in the font list, to see if the fonts you imported are actually in the game and with the right ID. Good luck! :)

Fiordy - nice work you've done with your fonts - but there is a situation with the Portugal and United States Nike fonts. They both have font # t80_685.fsh & #t70_685 so installing from both zips would result in one overwriting the other. Was this addressed in your new Nike font zip file?

Sorry Keegan, changing numeration times and times made me put wrong ids! Now I corrected Portugal fonts, redownload the zip. If someone find other mistakes like this one pls tell me so that I can update the overlapping ids.

In fact my fonts start from id 291 (Adidas 2006 font) and go on. The isolated fonts instead (I mean those which don't have a complete color range from 1 to 22) start from 700 and go down. I think this is the best way to fill empty fonts slots! C U. :ewan:

Ok mate I updated that away font for Holland. I used a darker blue (61). Hope it fits better, cause I didn't test it in game. So I pray Silencer to post some screenies. Just redownload the Holland font kitpack. :)

Well watching the result I'm not very fashinated by this solution on Holland away fonts. I expexted a poor result and at the end it was. The white border should be thicker, but doing so would look very bad on the back of the kit, with a large white area covering the real kit.
So I'm thinking the best solution is for a kitmaker to make a little rectangular white space in the front of the kit, to let the front numbers display correctly. Pede and the others, if you read this give me your opinion! :ewan: :)

Mate, it's not a matter of bigger outline, cause even if I make it (and it wouldn't take me a long time) the result would be poor. In fact at the back of the shirt you'd see the whole area around the number all colored in white and it's a bad effect, cause you should see the jersey's wrinkles instead. You can see this effect even in ss Silencer posted. It's better to have a little imprecision on the front part of the kit, instead that on the back, which is a larger zone. :nape:
For me the best (and only) solution is to update the kit with a front blank square. :ewan:

well actually, unless my old eyes are playing tricks, the front numbers on the real Holland away kit, are sitting in a small "box" already. Although its not a square box. It seems to follow the outside shape of the numbers. On the pic of the real kits, the number 10 has a square shape behind it because of the shape of the 1 and the 0. In fact the middle of the 0, is filled in with white and maybe you will not get that with putting an outline around the font.The number 4 on the other hand has the bottom left corner missing from the " box " so it follows the shape of the number 4.

I guess what Fiordy is saying is right. Whatever you do to the front numbers will also happen to the back numbers too, so i would say that the only suitable solution is to add a " box" to the kit front. I'll add one to my Holland away kit and then you guys will see how good/ bad the result actually is.

Fist a SS of the kit front with the box. I think Fiordy's fonts are different dimensions to the default fonts in this SS, so with Fiody's fonts the box might not need to be so big. On the other hand, the box as it is, might look ok. I think the box looks alright to be honest.

Ok my mighty friends, I uploaded the old version for Holland away font in blue (61) color. Then I tried the box size in game and found it's nearly perfect, just expand with some pixels on the horizontal sides and a few on vertical sides. To right fit the box maybe Pete you should try using my font in game, to set things better. Otherwise you could watch the result with Martjin ss, when he will post them! :jap:

Fiordy, Ajax has new fonts for next season and I don't think they are too hard to make for u. The font is a white one and the border is red of course.
I think now you can add the Ajaxlogo in the font like with Real Madrid cause the font is a bit thicker than this year.

I was wondering how much time it would have taken for you to ask me for that font, since I first saw it in pede's thread! :)

Anyway that font is pretty regular but the only problem for making it are pictures. Usually I collect the 10 numbers needed to make a font searching on ebay. There you can find nearly all numbers in a plain view, without wrinkles or perspective errors.
Unfortunately there's nothing helpful there atm.

i installed the roma font, i tried changing the settings with CC06 but it kept giving me an error when i selected the team in CC. so i clicked continue insted of quit.saved my settings. ran the fatbh builder. than extracted the .db using UniDB and changed the settings in there and now when i select roma in an exhibition, it crashes.

try using fifadata06 (it doesn't have a 'preview' of the font, but it works anyway)

There are 2 possibilities:

1) you may have corrupted your fifa.db file or some zdataXX.big file in some other operations before installing Roma fonts

2) you installed Roma fonts in a wrong way or with the wrong program (see the guide at the beginning of the post)

So I may release a mega patch (for me first :) ) not to have this problem with 3rd kits and GK kits...and other things...Wait and see!! :)

Strange to see the thread you're referring too, they guy who wrote it received a life time ban from these forums, for an arguement with a moderator for telling him the truth about Juventus in the Milan thread (the mod is a Juventus fan, as are 60% of the SG mods)

He got banned for "insulting" Juventus lol, now that it's open in the media that all this time he was right about them I expect he gets reinstated, yeah right...

I have him on my MSN and he is a friend now, he's one of the top peeps who know a lot about the fifa game insides, and has always been helpful in the fifa forums, just read the thread in the link as an example.

Yeah, I know I'm OT, just had to let that out, I read far worse things on these forums sometimes and I don't see those peeps get lifetime bans, ah well...

You can access to the bmp files of the fonts extracting the fsh files I posted. That's all you can do. Anyway remember I only make the numbers from 0 to 9, I don't make any letter. :ewan:

What do you mean by "use"? Personal use is obviously permitted. If you want to include my font in any sort of patch you can do it as well, quoting my name in credits. :corn:

Hi, why can't import the fonts with "bigGUI" in "zdata3" from the "FIFA WC 06" Game?!

I open "bigGUI", import your fonts in "zdata3", compress the file and change the " Font Number ID" from the National Teams with the tool "Db Master"...!

But... ...nothing!!!

Use File Master from Rinaldo, much easier and works like a charm.
Just import and hash FSH files that's all, download at Sweetpatch.

It's right, i can use "Rinaldos - File Master" only for "FIFA WC 06" when i have "FIFA 06" installed on my System?!

No you don't need to have Fifa 06 installed on your system, simply start File Master and point to the data/cmn/fifa.db file in your WC06 dir. Good luck (Y)

Portugal fonts updated: now the golden is yellow and numbers are not cut anymore, as in real WC kits. Redownload to try. :ewan:
