After Portugal 3-1 victory over Cyprus, Holland is confirmed not qualify to World Cup 2002. It is a sad news. In the match vs Ireland, I wondered why alomost every Holland player worked for himself. eg.
Overmars always dribbled the ball until the ball was robbed. Zenden liked to cut inside and shot by himself, seldom passing the ball to the players who had better chances. This is not total football, but "totally selfish football".
So sad................ no Holland in world cup.

They played like sh*t against Ireland and they don't deserve to play at the WC and that's the sad truth :(

I just saw the video of Ireland's goal against Holland. I noticed that one of Holland's players(couldnt make out who- the quality of the video was crappy) lost his man(the man who scored) and he just walked right in and hit the ball first time right past van der Sar. It was awful defensive coverage by that Dutch player and i am very saddend by the fact that Holland wont be in WC 2002. :( O well maybe Saudi Arabia will take them out in the Playoff.

Time to face facts folks,Holland were just not good enough to make it to the finals, simple as that.As for the Irish only a fool would dismiss their chances of doing well in the finals and Ireland are not s**t only someone with limited intelligence of football would think otherwise.

I must agree with Jp5. Even though Ireland is not **** as he stated, it must be considered highly unlikely for Ireland to beat Cyprus by 9-0, assuming that Portugal beats Estonia by 1-0. But this is just an assumption. The game hasn't been played yet and we can't say that Portugal is going to win or that Ireland is going to win. When the games are over, we can run to the computer, log on to the internet and joke with each other. Until then, we have to wait. :D

I'll settle for a Ireland versus Portugal world cup final.....but who every is on top after the final group games will have deserved it.I think what ever team finishs second will progress to the finals.Just thought of something Ireland have never gone through from playoff games...please not again.
