So far, it is possible.
Argentina has displayed quality and beautiful soccer.
Remember the friendly match they beat Italy, they were definitely stunning.
Now, they defeated Brazil in commanding manner.
For me, only France and maybe Italy can compete with them at the moment.

I can't see it there a great side but France will be a tough side to beat my outsiders are England and Spain well they both good teams but not everyone talks about them as world beaters.
forgeting portugal ? thats a big error ... we have one of the best medfields in the world ... Figo, rui costa, capucho and sergio conceição :p france only defeat us with that suspisiu penaltu and the end of the extra time ... but argentina and france have great teams and great chance of be world champions ... i dont like the gameplay of italy so i dont give them great chances ... germany is dead this year ... england is in efury but that defense ruins it all ... *just my opinion* :D

I think Argentina has chances to win the World Cup..but usually it's hard to be the favorite going into the World Cup. Too much pressure, but if anything this team has showed is that it has heart and can handle pressure. The best aspect of this team are their variables..so many excellent players for each position. For ex. Batistuta or Crespo.. Veron or Aimar or Gallardo or Riquelme? Simeone or Almeyda or even Redondo
this is a serious team. France is a good team also but didn't they lose the other day to Chile? That is embarassing..no wonder they don't want to play a friendly with Argentina.. are they afraid or something? I think this will be a great World Cup and we'll see what happens. I hope Argentina wins! :D :D :D :D :D

I know that this may sound stupid, but i think that if brazil qualifies, they wont waste their time calling up the players they use now. I think that brazil will fire Scolari before the world cup, and if they get a smart coach, that coach wiould call up th great brazilian lineup. players like Ronaldo(if his recovery is successful) rivaldo, roberto carlos, cafu, aldair, vampeta, amoroso, dida, denilson, emerson, the list goes on.......... I think that if brazil gets back to it's senses, i wouldnt rule them out just yet......

Argentina's chances do look good. They have flair , zest , skill and the men.
If anything lets them down it will be their defense.
Whereas Italy have a great defense and let in very few goals.
So here are my tips.(in order of merit)
1) France (Champions)
2) Italy (Runner ups)
3) Argentina (lose in Semis)
4) Portugal( damm it i wish i could write Holland here )
5) Germany / England

Argentina are my favourites...
England: Always too sloppy... 2000 (no comments)... 98 (Beckham sending off)... 96 and 90 (Penalties)... I don't expect them to do anything great, and if they do, they will fail miserably in the last stretch
Brasil: are THEY going?
Portugal: Lack of consistency of defence (Ricardo, Frechaut and Rui Jorge might not be able enough to perform at high levels), Figo is unreliable some times, and then there's the question if the attack is strong enough. Sometimes it lacks quite consistency.
Spain: do they EVER play good? I think that they are the typical case of wannabe favourites. Failures after failures after failures
France: There's the question if they will be fit enough to play... some players start t show their age...
Italy: Other good side to put the money on
Npw one thing... name a european nation that won the World Cup outside europe ;)
