Raphael van der Vaart is one who truly disappeared. Wasn't he primed for one of Europe's top club? How'd he end up in some unknown German team? Of all who left Ajax in the past few years, only Zlatan has managed to keep his reputation up. van der Vaart has faded away, van der Meyde as well. I remember the time when VDV, VDM, Zlatan and Mido were all at Ajax, God were they amazing.

Whats strange to me about Mido is the fact that, after that long injury spell he was shipped out of Rome just like that. Maybe a Roma fan can help clarify this for me, but outside of the preseason, was he even given a decent run of games for Roma? Did he say or do something that management didnt like?

Anyway, spurs have got a gem in that guy. Excellent target man, and will probably make Defoe into a real star in the long run

no he was not given a decent run of games. his longest streak of starting matches started and ended at 1. he rarely came off the bench and was wasted imo. he has till the end of the epl season till his loan is up. he was sent on an 18 month loan to spurs.

not at all. whenever he was in the press he would talk about how he wanted to make the starting 11 and how he was happy at roma just wants a chance. although he did pick up a couple injuries that forced him out of games.

when the loan is up, i expect spurs to try and keep him although i wouldn't mind him coming back as montella isn't getting any younger.
