What a shame, I really have enjoyed my 1st day playing 06, but WHY can't I choose the so-called 'top'teams in managermode once AGAIN?
Some like to start with a lowteam & I don't mind, but there are only 3 teams I support: Roma, Everton & Haarlem and guess what: the first 2 are probably considered too good to start your career with according to EA & the last one is not in the game (understandable, as no one -apart from me- would be interested in the Dutch 2nd division nobodies).
So as I don't complain about Haarlem not being in the game (understandable), I DO complain that I cannot choose Roma or Everton to start with! And why?? Everton finnished 4th so they are considered too good? Why is it possible to choose Udinese than, who also finnished 4th & why can't I choose Roma, who conquered a 'respectable' 8th(!) place last season!!!

I don't have time to play the game 4+ hours a day, so it will take me weeks to have the chance of getting a job-offer from Roma/Everton!

Why did EA do this again? It should be the players choice which team he wants to manage, it is not as if eg FM06 will not let you manage the top 10 teams, so why does FIFA06 do this!

Apart from this, I say it again, I've loved every minute of FIFA06 'til now!

I thought that they had changed it so you can pick any team you want. You might want to try a tactic I figured out last year, where you go into squad management mode and load up the starting XI of the team you want with all the worst players on the team. That way their rating goes down and in 2005 you got access to teams like Porto and Ajax that you normally couldn't start with. Worth a shot.

Can you start as Bolton?

Yes, you can start with lesser teams, so also with Bolton ;-).

Last year you could get bigger teams if you went into the region then went back then back in and the choice would change and there would always be some bigger name teams and I'm sure verton will pop us doing this.

There is an unlockable option in the challenges to give you access to all of the teams including those over 4 and half stars. Dunno about Everton cos they were an option when I started my career as Spurs.

I noticed in 05 that if you upped the difficulty you got access to more teams so it may have been the difficulty level stopping you from getting them.

Or you can open the config.dat and modify the career.ini and common.ini to unlock everything and set your preferences... if you got the PC version that is.

Yeah, as Mikas said. Earn some points and purchase the unlockable in the Fan Shop.

Hmmm, strange. Started a game as Roma yesterday. Several other "top teams" are unavailable though...

It's true, just change the starting line-up of your topteam before you enter managementmode, putting all the worst players as starters, so the team will overall have less than 4 stars (if even with 2nd string players the team is 4+stars, just transfer some sh*teplayers to the team). Then go to managermode and...voila!!!!
So that explains why Puska got Roma to start with & Mikas99 could choose Everton!!!

So ManUTD, Madrid, Milan etc fans should try this!
