FIFA 06 ! Grrrrr :nape:

Despite me saving my gamepad configuration changes when I change them, it doesnt actually save.

when I restart the computer/game, I then have to go back in and change reconfigure the gamepad which is a pain in the arse.

Is there a fix for this, anyone know ?????

From readme:

''Please note that customized remapping of controls is saved to RAM and will only remain accessible as long as FIFA 06 is running''

Another retarded thing they did along with the non existent support for USB keyboards. It seems they hired some imature programming school graduates along with the ex-konami devs.

In that case you should settle for what I did with my P2500. If you don't mind playing with the standard P2500 settings (shoot-4, lob-1, pass-3, through ball-2, sprint-8)...then just set the registry entry to "Saitek P880 Pad", as that controller IS compatible. Granted, you won't be able to customize your settings, but these standard ones are ideal in my opinion.

EA supposed to be one of hte biggest producers if not the biggest of sports games, and FIFA 2006 controls dont work on most pads and you cant save your configuration. http://www.the-soapbox.net/forums/html/emoticons/jerkit.gif

Kinda wrecks the game for me, they probably have a deal with logitech so it only works properly with that or summit.

ive just plugged in my old microsoft gamepad and it works fine for now, that will just need to do me until we get a fix for the p2500, my problem with the p2500 is that the Dpad doesnt work even though I have the "digital" option selected in the game settings.

But as for the saving configuration thing, thats defo a no no, no one can save thier joypad configuration.

Come on EA, get a bloody patch made up quick

P2500 gamepad dont work properley with FIFA 06 ???

Ok, heres a fix I found elsewhere in the forums, it works perfect, ive tried and tested it completley.

Its just a little reg edit file you run, it makes a change in the registry and hey presto !! your pad will be 100% :)

Just unzip and run the file (see attachment).

P.S, EDIT :> Sorry, I meant to add this, even with the fix you still need to make sure you do this -->>

Before "everytime" you run the game, you need to make sure you go into your controller properties and test the controller.

To do this, from your desktop screen, goto start/settings/control panel/game controllers, then when in the properties test all the functions, I.E- the analog sticks, the Dpad and the buttons, make sure they are all moving etc ok, especially the Dpad if you intend to use the Dpad.
I dont know why you have to do this before every time you decide to play the game, but YOU DO, especially to make sure the Dpad works.

It only takes two sec's to do anyway, at least it means the pad will work 100%, if you dont do it, it means that sometimes when you start the game the gamepad may not work fully, so thats why its always best just to do it.

Nice fix. BTW, another fix is to use your gamepad's mapping software. 99% of all gamepads have this software that lets you do the mapping from a little utlity. Do the mapping from there and load the game. No need to do any mapping in game then.
