sorry but I cant make this job for you but you should make it for yourself.
First because I don't own a Logitech Dual Action but a 830T sightfighter
(what shown in the tutorial was just an example). Second because the control identifiers of each gamepad are different and there is not any standard. So the only way to proceed is to understand the data structure of the devadata.dat (this is what explained in the tutorial) and then try to edit.

If you already have a file in the folder Documents\FIFA06\user that is the file to modify.
The file under data\input is copied there if not already found.

Rinaldo , how did you find out the structure of the devdata?
With your document I could understand it after reading it 3 times.
Its amazing that you found out yourself how it works , since this structure is in my opinion different from previous versions of Fifa.It still isn't clear why they were using 3 rows.I changed them all the same way and it worked fine. :hit:

Heres a tip that might help. If you gamepad has say 6 buttons and 4 shoulder buttons then obviously that makes 10.

However, the buttons may not be numbered 1 through to 10 when you start editing the .dat file. In my instance they were numbered 0 through to 9.

Which once I had sussed out, made editing the file that much easier.

I've tried to define my gampad keys over and over and it caused my fifa to crash....P-L-E-A-S-E can anybody help me define my gamepad keys?

Here i am using XFX dual vibration gamepad, that always worked with all my games, including previous versions of FIFA but now i can't get the right joystick to work... and that is a great handicap because of all the special controls and moves...

Anyone can help!?

I already tried to edit the Windows registry, and change it's name to the name of a gamepad supported by FIFA06 and then the right joystick worked well but the directions were all scrambled, maybe because the calibration is not the same, and since it doesn't have the option to re-calibrate the pad inside FIFA06 this doesn't solve my problem.

I think that pad is one of the supported pads in the game, check the \data\input\*.dat file like it was mentioned before in this thread and try to edit the name of your pad on the windows registry so it matches with the name that comes in that file.

Finally I solved my problem with my XFX Dual Vibration Gamepad.

It wouldn't recognize my right joystick, so what I did was, edit the windows registry and replace every key that had the name of my gamepad with the name of trustmaster 3.2 (it seemed to be the most similar to mine), and then in my documents\fifa06\data\user in the devdata file i replaced all the 3 lines with the 3 lines of axis pad that appears in the beggining of this file.

Then voilá, configure the controlers on fifa and let's play !

guys how do i know what button number is which on my gamepad?

For example how do i find out what my (playstation"X") button is on my gamepad so that i can use that for pass?

go to the control panel and use the game \controller to enter the gamepad probritz and remap uor key or just identify them
the buttom N#1 is for the through
the button N# 2 is for the shotting
The buttonN# 3 is fot the pase X
The buttonN# 4 for the crossing

Hi!! I have a ThrustMaster Firestorm Digital 2, but in control panel it appears like Eje 2 botón 12 controlador para juegos (Axis 2 button 12 controller for games).
I don't know what happened, I edited the devdata and it didn't work.
I wrote the original name of gamepad on devdata... nothing...
I changed the name with Regedit to Thrustmaster Firestorm Digital 2 and changed it on devdata... nothing...
I don't know... can somebody help me?

Please can you tell me how to get into the registry and what else I need to do?

I'm using a logitech cordless rumblepad 2. The problem is when I use the digital mode I can't get the players to move diagonally and it's driving me crazy.

I don't want to use the analog stick to control the movement of the players as I'm not good at this and also it's never that accurate (i.e.) I can't direct my passes and runs in the exact directions where I want them to be.

Does anyone have a solution for this problem.

i have a microsoft sidewinder gamepad v1.0

in previous fifas i wa able to push the button in the middle and hold it dowun in combination with the arrows and it would work as teh trick stick but on fifa 06 i cannot it pauses the game instead wich used to be the small button on top of that now all it does is bring up an arrow on the screen

Ok, at first i used to play with Genius MaxFire G-12U Vibration

It worked really well until it got broken and i had to change it. I bought an Acteck but it was a simplier gamepad.

Now i bought again the Maxfire because my second gamepad has broken.

But i have a problem that i didn't with the previous Genius MAXfire.
During the game, it seems to have a bug or something that simulates the button of "bicycle step" to be pressed continously. I tried changing the layout of the buttons to see if it was a technical disfunction of the gamepad.

but it looks like the game is the one who is rejecting my gamepad.

Everything is ok except for this, when my player gets the ball, starts to do the "evade step", the one where the leg covers and hides the ball..over and over...

I liked the TM Dual Power controller that I used to use, but wasn't able to find a new one to replace it when it died. In the meantime I'd tried the TM Firestorm Wireless and I'd suggest staying away from those. Finally I settled on the Logitech Rumblepad 2 (wired) and I've had no trouble with it. Built in support from FIFA 06 and FIFA 07 was a lot better than for the Thrustmasters, but from a comfort and usability point of view I'd mark them about equal.

Guys well i tried all this but didnt work for me in d beginning,
may be i was wrong but then coz of editing devdata.dat Fifa07 Crashed..!!

it always failed to open and so i tried for replacing the file from my back up which still didnt work and so from somewhere i found this devdata.dat by google'ing and Voila it finally worked for me and i was amazed seeing even i can do Tricks now using Right Analog...!! :D

so guys try this at ur own risk..
Just backup ur devdata file and replace the original file with the one i have attached and try who knows it may work...
Y dont u buddies just give a try...If it doesnt work replace the file u had backed up...

Fifa 10 still has the same problem. I can't believe it. Every year when I installed fifa, i should edit devdata.dat to make my gamepad work.
Btw I can't agree with the data structure. I don't know, may be it was on fifa06, I played it by keyboard instead, but on fifa 08,09 and 10 I noticed different data structure. x|y|z, I think x and z define the buttons or the axes and y defines their assignment. I found it from http://www.fifa-island.com/printpost.php?postid=809812. Try it, it works for me..
