Blatter is currently in Uruguay right now for the 75th Aniversary of the first World Cup.

As the trip wore on, a great idea was presented by the President that the 2030 World Cup be hosted by the Merco Sur (Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay). Originally Uruguay was hinted in hosting the 100 Year tournament.....but seeming as even ARgentina couldnt host one alone right now........a Merco Sur Cup would be ideal/perfect.

After visiting the National Team training, he will give a press conference Tomorow and will speak about the future of FIFA there.

I dont know about you guys....but I think its an amazing Idea. There would be no problem for Brazil to host the Cup for a 3rd time (after 2014) <since Mexico did it in 70 and 86> ....plus Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay would host a World Cup (a first time for Paraguay...that would be awesome to see).

The groups could be organized in 4 nations with the Quarter finals also divided.....finally having the Semis in Brazil/Argentina and the Final in Uruguay <no brainer> (where it all began).

Think it would be historic if it were to happen.

It's not like we need seven stadiums, this idea is proposing playing the WC in four different countries at the same time.

I seriously doubt we'll manage to improve our infrastructure to be capable of hosting it on our own, and I'm not a big fan of co-hosting.

It's just a hunch, but I think England will probably host WC 2030.

guys u all didnt notice the error here. 2016 is a euro year and not a world cup year. maybe 2014 is left for south america because 2010 is in south africa so id say its 2014 for south america. this is because i know 2018 will most likely be a joint australia/new zealand cup. football federation australia has already sent a letter into fifa asking for the rights to the world of footballs top event!

on the actual topic, i like it! i think 100 years should go back to where it began. i dont know why the olympics didnt go to greece in 1996 to mark 100 yrs. but 100 is special and a copa merco sur cup is as delicious as a nice juicy roast straight out of the oven.
