I've just downloaded the English super patch, and I noticed that some star players are missing! For example, Alessandro Pistone (Plays for Newcastle in original game, at Everton now) has VANISHED! I need him for my team, and I'm not bothering editing any other player cause I want the speech to go with it. Could somebody possibly explain why this is happening?

Yep, Jochen Tree who made the rosters for the ESP overwrote a lot of commentated players not noticing that these players were keeping their old commentary!
For example Gianfranco Zola is called Ekström for some reason... though the original Zola has a commentary!?!

That's the reason why I started to edit my own rosters! I didn't want the teams and players to be called by a wrong name!
The only disadvantage of my rosters is that I had to change one league to get an archive for all the commentated players that are not in use... but who cares for a fake US league?

The Premier League rosters are not yet updated for the 2000/01 season but at least much more up to date than the ESP rosters!

And if you still miss Pistone at Newcastle or Everton you may find him in one of the "ComTeams" in the "Reserve" league... http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/wink.gif

I've just checked that for you... in my rosters Pistone is still at Newcastle!
So you don't have to search... ;-)

Thanks Kohler mate. If I knew how to do all this file editing and stuff, I'd be happy to post downloads on this site. Its just a shame that not many people are as bothered about FIFA 99' anymore. Personally, I think its the best in the FIFA footy series, but I cant wait until FIFA 2000/2001 comes out! That will be really good on PS2 epecially, and we'll be able to download new up-to-date files off the internet! I love it! I'll need a PS2 first though, and its not out over here yet! Oh well, whoever you support, I hope they have a good season next year! See ya!
