What up.
Collared shirts were big during the 90's. Remember Cantona always wearing his up. Dwight Yorke. Any Man Utd fan will tella ya. And the Italians.

2000's - no more collared shirts. They're not on Nike kits, not on addidas;, not on kappas, etc. What happened?

the Adidas collars for this season isnt a proper collar. It cant even be put up ala Cantona.

If Im not mistaken, Ukraine's Lotto has a decent collar cos Sheva does it Cantona style.

the collar that is on real's kit doesn't fold. it's kinda short and doesn't fold which makes it not a proper collar :)

I think Arsenal has collared jerseys this season.

I personally don't mind if there's a collar or not. As long as the first time you see that jersey is attractive/stylish one from your eyes, that's all matters to me.

I prefer collars, although putting it up like Cantona is something only the rich people do, here in the Netherlands we call those people kakkers

According to teams there kits just follow fashion, its a matter of copying what everyone else has.

Just a few examples of big clubs/nations that wore collars, and now they dont. In englands case, they have changed to that tiny little collar.

One thing I've always thought about Bayern's shirt is that it looks a bit retro

I prefer collars too. I loved Juve's Kappa jerseys in the 90's... all collared. I hope we'll see the trend returning.

I HATE COLLARS!
they are so unconfortable!
The only collar I ever liked was the ones on the Brasil away kit from 2002

Super! As for myself, I prefer collars. I've got a fairly large neck and theres never enough space in the shirts with no cut at the front

I agree that style defnitely plays a huge role in the decision....clubs follow eachother too much...which is why this year' s Arsenal jersey looks really good. The maroon shade is brilliant and the collar just adds to it....retro or not!
