iceboy 01-09-2001, 10:33:PM Heh, why is everyone starting the thread England 5 - 1 Germany one.. Home comes first, then Away. although 1 - 5 looks bad, but Germany losing at home IS bad.
schmeichel01 01-09-2001, 10:37:PM I made a kit to commemorate this result.

Iceboy come online, I have some AMAZING news for soccered.
schmeichel01 01-09-2001, 10:40:PM It is not a miracle, england deserve it.
Back in March when I went to the spain game at villa park, I could have told you we would have got a result tonight.
I wasn't expecting a result like this.
Well I am 25£ richer!
And, I'm not richer at all.

alright... :)
Thank you England! After my country was beaten by Ireland, it was quite a consolation to see the Germans been beaten so heavily.
Apart from the feeling if your own country wins, there is nothing so much fun as seeing the Germans beaten so heavily.
England you saved my day! Thanks! :)

You were going to kill yourself?
Hey, Ireland played good, and Holland would be much better with Davids around.

LOL! No, I am too much of a positive guy to do that.. :D Just disappointed.
With Davids I think it wouldn't make much difference, we just forgot to score and forgot to pass the ball :/
Help? 01-09-2001, 11:40:PM Hey schmeichel01, nice kit, where can i get it? Oh, yeah, i think, that you should add some where , that the game was in Germany!!!!!!!! HAHAHA too bad germans, lost the the first time ever at home, to England, Sven is the greatest manager, good job Eriksson.
But it could have been a lot different if the german striker (i forgot his name >.< ) had taken his chances.
man united forever 02-09-2001, 04:35:AM Or should I say Germany 1 - 5 Liverpool
don't forget 4 out of 5 goals involved manchester united players.
danger zone 02-09-2001, 04:50:AM Hey did Sky show the game in New Zealand? I remember how hard it was for them to show the England-Italy game in 97.
Football Kingz 02-09-2001, 07:08:AM Hey did Sky show the game in New Zealand? I remember how hard it was for them to show the England-Italy game in 97.
The game was shown live on ESPN International (Digital service) so I didn't see it. :(
I was hoping I was going to get live audio at the bbc five live web site but they didn't have it :(
Can someone please tell me a site where I can watch the replay of the match coz it wasn't shown on T.V here.
Thank you
Denny 9 02-09-2001, 05:28:PM They deserved it. Well done Sven!
Gelohk 02-09-2001, 07:14:PM Naw, it was Deisler, the attacking midfielder that missed his stuff, including the one on one he had with Seaman.
And Beckham's left foot looked awfully good in that match. The cross to Heskey's head for the cushioned header to Owen was fantastic. Where has he been keeping it?

I think you forgot to mention the England captain played a great part in the victory, didn't he ? :o
Dragan Tucakovic 02-09-2001, 09:59:PM What i don't understand is why Germany played in away kit?
ShearerM4 02-09-2001, 10:19:PM well remember last year
when England got beat at Wembley ??
they were in red
well the Englash FA nd the German did a deal so that England could play at home in their away kit for luck, hoping for the same result as in 66 (when they were also in red)
guess it didn't really work
so on Saturday it was the other way round
germany at home but in away colours

Yep... he must have trained very hard to get his left foot as good as his right, to answer his critics and of course, trying to get another addition to his ability to make sure his place at United is 100% secure.

You were refering to Carsten Jancker? He scored the 1st goal of the match and had quite a few other good chances.
BTW, notice that Becks' cross was involved in 2 goals. Both not from his right foot, but from his left with pin-point accuracy
nfsmerc 03-09-2001, 06:48:AM Oliver Neuville perhaps?
