I never thought i'd see the day that Alan Shearer, one of the best English players ever, would be sent off! Personally I think this was uncalled for... but it had to happen someday I suppose...
oh well

Personally I think Shearer is over-rated and if he was only half English you would all disown him!!!
English fans are the most fickle in the world!!!

shearer has always thrown elbows and that's why he got tossed saturday.

speaking of his national career, he hasn't done much recently so why does everyone love him so much.

The Shearer red card incident shows how stupid referees have gone over the last few years - I read something that the FA stated that Shearer was send off for some kind of misconduct. HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING THAT WAS WORTHY OF ANY CARD!!!
Ever since the World Cup, refereeing standards have gone very poor, and something must be done for the good of the game.

Reason shearer was sent off was for a second bookable offence which the ref later claimed was for constant infringements. But please don't start complaining about poor innocent Shearer, he's a tough lad that throws his weight around sometimes too wildly for comfort. If you want to know what's bollox is that Petit was sent off last season for apparently swearing at a linesman, in French. Funny how linesman can hear shouts from the middle of the field and understand foreign languages, they should indeed get a pay increase.

Remember that a few years ago Shearer got away with kicking Neil Lennon then of Leicester City in the face leaving him with a fractured cheekbone. The English FA backed out of throwing the book at him as it was just before a World Cup. One rule for an England regular and one for everyone else! It now seems that what goes around comes around!

where's this thread popped out from ???
ad why arethere harldy only guest posts innit ??

anyway .. only 3 incidents (2 reds and the Lennon incident)
in nealry a 15 year career ...
I think there are many many players that have a worse one.
I'm sure anywone would react much worse if you got hacked in the legs by defenders as Shearer gets every week .... sure that's why he gives it back.
that's what football is about.

I think he deserves respect from everyone

I respect Shearer, and I dont think in such a long career 3 red cards is much. I think Shearer is a very "fair play" player. I just wanted to bring this up, so that when u browse the forum u r like: "WTF?!?!?!";) :p :D
