just wondering if there are any plans for an SG United 2006 Update?

There are plans indeed. I've actually been playing around with test versions, just to see what settings would be ok for the club.

I'm in doubt wether to go back to full submission forms as in CM 01/02-version, or to completely abolish them and go with personal details only and all out random stats otherwise (maybe CA/PA could be a seperator). I'm in favour of the latter personally, it would improve gameplay, but I reckon many people will want a more personalised player to represent them.

how random would it actually be? I mean, if I choose to be a forward, is there a chance that my stats are those of a decent defender and a crappy forward, or is the position taken into consideration?

The position would indeed be taken into consideration. If you are an FC with decent CA, you'll have ok attacking skills and less good defensive.

I don't think so. It looks good as it is, really. Just need to write the readme, and fix up an installer. :(

Aren't you only changing in the database? We don't need an installer for that do we? Just replace the new db with the old one? :confused:

Almost, no overwriting the database this time.

There's always going to be people asking bout how to do this and that when just handed the contents anyway. Might as well do a proper installer that will guide you through whatever is needed.

I don't think there is any other way.

By using the command line option SI built into fm.exe that loads the database from another location.

Not as hard at first. We start in League Two in stead of the Championship.

It'll take three years at least to get to the Premiership.

Better as well, with the non-EU players only allowed to play when they're 18 or older, and the EU players at 16.

that's nice... I quite liked the challenge last year, and since we're starting at L2, it should be harder to get to the premier... bring it on!

I am very dissapointed with the crappy stats I got and potential ability. I am one of the worst in the team altough I was one of the first to sign up, especially for that position, I have many posts, and I contribute to the FM forum.

I obviously don't really care because it's a fake fantasy team BUT :(

everyone has randomised stats to some extent from the way that Ruud did it, and the potential ability was based on how often you post in the FM forum (i think).

Its clear you do care, since you wouldnt have posted about a month after the original download was posted.

By the way Ruud, i simply got the height/weight cosmetic thing from SI themselves, and think about it, if height/weight was included SI would be making a song and dance about it, you just wait for FM07 - wouldnt surprise me.

The reason Horatiu's stats aren't that high is his being frequently banned from this site for stupid behaviour. As I said, quality > quantity.
