Looks pretty good so far, liking the new shooting mechanics...seems as though they have focused directly on what I think is the main issue of FIFA, the shooting! So far it's too basic and lacks diversity.

Well I'm happy that some of my suggestions got heard! In bold

Having the recent draw of the FIFA World Cup completed, I think its high time that we start thinking about the FIFA World Cup game for 2006.

My Suggestions:

Menu: More user friendly, "Colours of Germany" style: Black Red & Gold, with a splash of green. The seperate menu for the Kit Select screens in Euro 2004 was a great idea, Keep it for Germany 2006! You can even keep the same pose of the players for each of the european countries, while formulating new ones for the other intl teams, with updated kits for all countries.

Countries & Kits: All members of FIFA who took part in qualifying, with all kits being realistic, with correct logos, as should required by EA Sports! Holland is no longer considered an excuse...

Germany 2006: for Teams who have qualified (except Germany), give the user the option of playing the Finals or re-qualification.

Stadiums: of host cities for Finals. Also, for Qualfication Mode:
Stade de France, Bolleart, Parc des Princes, Velodrome, Gerland.
Da Luz, Alvalade, Bessa, Braga, Dragao.
Stamford, Old Trafford, Anfield, Highbury, St. James.
Bernabeu, Mestalla, Calderon.
Olimpico, Alpi, San Siro.
Samiyen, Ataturk.
Amsterdam, De Kuip.
Constant Stock.
Cameroon Stad from FIFA 98.
Maracana.
Azteca.
Millenium.

Training/Practise: Team and individual practise, free, corner and penalty kick. Practise the basics with those who know: Figo, Zidane, Raul, van Nistelrooy, Blanco, Reyna, Ji-Sung, Nakata, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Carlos, Cafu, Crespo, Santa Cruz, Larsson, Del Piero, Henry, Beckham, Kahn, Ballack, Sukur... The list is endless. I would also like to add that possibly EA Sports could sign the voice talent of the players for Basic Training, in the language of thier representative country (Figo in Portuguese, Beckham in English, Henry in French, Ruud in Dutch, Raul in Spanish etc.)

Setplays: The Free Kick system in FIFA 06 is terrible, dont even think of using it in FWC06, you'll just ruin another great game, EA. Use the UCL system of Freekick Gameplay, with the miniball from FIFA 2005 to set the power, spin, direction of the kick. The same can be said for corners.

Skills: A recent thought of mine: Use a ball-opponent-direction distance factor to determine what kind kind of tricks a player can and should do.
EG: If the controlled player is at the end of his opponents shadow and facing his opponent, he should be able to pull a tunnel. If the player is closer, and within range of tackling, then a 360 spin or combinations of close control, depending on the skill of player. NB: The 360, elastico, 2nd foot push after a heel back, (Shift back then forward in UCL/FIFA 06), dragback to 1 side around the leg, lollypop, should all be able to be done manually with or without an opponent.

Match presentation:
ALL The Teams must have anthems, and the audio being played the whole way through. Opening and closing ceremony cinematics (with the presentation of the trophy!). The ability to control the crowd support ratio should be a new feature added into Germany 2006.
Commentary: Martin Tyler. & maybe Andy Gray, but Martin's good enough to do it by himself. Also one note on opening commentary, Make the commentator say something along the lines of: "Welcome to this friendly/qualifyer/WC group/quarter/semi/3rdplace/final match between... (Brazil) & (Ghana) in (Hamburg) at the (AOL Arena) Stadium." Also obvious things such as: "Drogba for the Ivory Coast" "Shevchenko for the Ukraine" "And Now Ballack for Germany" "Ronaldinho for Brazil on the ball" can't be forgotten...

But make a distinction between a friendly and the World Cup final...

Unlockables:
Tricolore
Fevernova
Roteiro
Thus Ball Selection
OlympiaStadion
Thus Stadium Selection
Classic Matches of the World Cup.
All Star Teams.
Training in any Stadium
Video's of the Host Country, Participating Countries (Thier Road to the World Cup).

Classic Matches Video, Videos of stadiums and thier cities, Maybe during loading screens thus not an unlockable, like in FWC 98.

EA fails to carry their duties to bring all participants.
There should have been a total of 195 countries, not 127.

edit #1:
These are based on the fact that RTWC 2006 Participants. See it for yourself. The links below-->choose World Cup-->choose WC Qualifying 2006.

1. Africa = 50 National Teams.
CAF Qualifying 50 NT (http://www.rdasilva.demon.co.uk/football.html)

2. Asia = 37 National Teams.
AFC Qualifying 37 NT (http://www.rdasilva.demon.co.uk/football.html)

3. Concacaf = 34 National Teams.
Concacaf Qualifying 34 NT (http://www.rdasilva.demon.co.uk/football.html)

4. Europe = 51 National Teams.
UEFA Qualifying 51 NT (http://www.rdasilva.demon.co.uk/football.html)

5. Oceania = 12 National Teams.
OFC Qualifying 12 NT (http://www.rdasilva.demon.co.uk/football.html)

6. South America = 10 National Teams.
Conmebol Qualifying 10 NT (http://www.rdasilva.demon.co.uk/football.html)

A total of 194 National Teams qualifying participants plus Germany as the host in a total of 195 to be exact.

edit #2: Anyway, I might purchase this game since there's no other WC features game so far. The WTS version has more 147 national teams in it & RTWC feature, but, it's hard to read the text in the game.

i actually think the quality of those screenies are pretty bad seeing that they are actually 360 screenies and i think we all know that rtwc had better graphics but indeed 120 odd teams and all the stadiums who wouldnt be happy

Its probably one of EA's ploy to get the game out early, but i would think that they are beta shots.

I hope the Creation Mode is included. I want to create some NT's that might not be included in the game. Please, EA !

Are those 127 NT = official NT with real players' names ?

Im guessig a few Concacaf , asia, and oceanian countries will be left out.

All conmebol countries are in because all of them are top100 rank. So all Conmebol countries are WCQ contenders.

Optimistic. I doubt it.

Again I beleive EA's primary goal will be graphics, over gameplay. There isn't much of a focus in the features about gameplay, so, I guess a lot of people will be, underwhelmed by this.

Well, in the WC game, there should be qualifying for at least UEFA & CONMEBOL so that is 62 teams. If we add the 52 members of Africa, that makes 114. N. America Adds 34 The AFC adds 44 & the OFC adds 12 = 204 members of FIFA who took part in qualifying :jap:

In Africa, it will only be the 30 teams which made it past the preliminary stage of qualifying that will be in the game.

Mattwinter

I would guess that there is 6 oceanian teams, the 6 which made it to the second phase of qualifying.

04-03-2006, 06:17:AM
i would say all national teams that went to the final round got in the game.

51 uefa
10 conmebol
6 concacaf
6 oceania
30 africa
8 asia

which equals to 111 leaving 14 teams that did not make the final round.

im pretty sure most of us would be satisfied.

RobbieD_PL
04-03-2006, 06:24:AM
thats 52 for uefa :) as for extra 13 the its should be all teams who have qualifyied for a previous world cup (and not teams like the USSR of Czechoslovakia :p) if they arent in that list of final round participants, eg Canda, China, etc.

QuikZilver
05-03-2006, 02:56:AM
Probably Asia all-stars, Conmebol All-stars, etc, all world team.

how in the world EA Sports can miss that ?

EA has a full FIFA license. They can't even put their serious efforts to put it exclusive on the WC 2006 game with every nations participating in it ?!

RobbieD_PL

How about this: All teams from the Final Stages of Qualifying =
51 UEFA
30 Africa
10 S America
6 OFC
6 N America
8 Asia

=111

+ all the teams who have previously qualified for a WC but arent in the above categories of their confed's qualifyers :D (except for Czechoslovakia or the USSR :p )

The teams that fit into the previous qualifiers category are:
Canada
Cuba
Haiti
El Salvador
Honduras
Jamaica
China PR
UAE
Iraq
Indonesia
+ 10 =121

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_team_appearances_in_the_FIFA_World_Cup

+ Germany ;) = 122

Yeah that's really frustrating, I have 7800GTX SLI graphics cards and still have to play with stupid PS2 graphics that can run on a 4 year old PC as well.. Definitely not buying any more PC version of Fifa until EA uses a new graphics engine as good as if not better than X360.

you would think that they could release both versions for PC, that way everyone is happy - they might even make more money from people buying both games?
