The graphic is still ok on low details

the gameplay is better than FIFA 06. The Kits, boots are poor... but I like the Stadium atmosphere with the ballons, big flags, and the pieces of paper.

I think I will buy it. It's a very good FWC game. :)

This game is a real let down... The ball physics are the worst I've seen in 10 years.. It decends wayy to fast!

The game is full of bugs... In my 2nd game, some guy from Mexico shot the ball back with 200 km/h to his own keeper!! For no reason, I wasn't even close!!

And I really hate those Fifa defenders.. They walk backwards if you near them and then it's easy to tackle and have a clear road to the goal... And the Troughpass is the easiest way to win 3-0, 4-0.. even against England.

I like the commentary and the crowd though... But were is the live scoreboard I saw on screenshots and were is the continues play (a little menu with "quick substitution" for instance).

I'd say a 6 minus.

played the demo as I said in another post , EA at there best ! And there best is Stadia , Intro scenes ingame cut scenes and commentary ...

The game play ???? but the ball physics , it moves through the air like a semi-solid ballon and bounces the same way too...

What is it with these guys at EA that they can't recreate the weight flight and bounce of a football. Konami have it down to a T in PES but year in year out its always the same with EA, why can't they program a football to act the way a football should .. I mean they have been at it long enough now, you would think they could get it right ...

[QUOTE=Xifio](Review continued)
THE DRAWBACKS

... and the kits sport their respective sponsor logos (nike, et al), the quality is quite simply lacking ... kit fonts have not really changed from FIFA 06, and their placement on the jerseys is atrocious ...

... it also seems that the old problem of 'no long sleeves' has reared its ugly head again, as even the goalkeepers are attired in short sleeves ...

... the boots have also been lifted and dropped from FIFA 06, and are not the myriad selection seen on the 360 ...

I for one feel that it is time to forget trying to accomodate the few gamers still playing on 32 MB graphics cards, and produce an experience that will thrill the owners of 256MB+ graphics cards and coax the rest to go out and upgrade ... after all, the only thing this watered down version for the PC has achieved is to make the XBox360 look a mighty inviting prospect for purchase ...

EA has taken away the font from us (again!)... wat i mean is tt we can only change the numbers, unlike in 2005 (or issit 2004) where we can even change the Fonts itself!

dunno bout da no long sleeves thingy... hope it's just in da demo tho'

i disagree wif da boot dropping thingy... cos i can c tt in da zdata, there r about 25 boots in there. it'll b assigned to d respective players when they release da full game

imho, da game is too easy to score... wonder wat is da default level...

It sucks. Still has the same flaws, game way too fast, still got easy shooting into the bottom corners and headed goals are also way too easy. No different from 06 really except through balls are back to 05 style of being too perfect. Bugmania once again. Menus, visuals and presentation of the game are superb probably the best ever in a football game but thats all that EA are good at, when it comes to gameplay they have no idea.

To be honest when i first saw it i thought it looked more like fifa 95, then i applied the little file that made the graphics look better, and it did look better. But at the end of the day people will say "but it's only the demo, the full game will be better". How many more chances are easports going to get before people grow tired and decide enough is enough.

You have 2 mirrors of the demo on fileplanet too.

Well, i didnt play yet, but, after to see this pathetic screenshots of the game, im thinking in stop the download. Is horrible how the faces, t-shirts, and field are displayed, and i think that all is due for the textures, i mean, textures have very low resolution....i ask myself, why the hell this pc version looks so bad, when i saw the xbox360 version and this last one looks fantastic???.... is very sad that with a PIV Extreme Edition 3.7, 2 gigs of RAM and a ATI850XT or NVIDIA7900GT (very superior to a Xbox360) the game looks totally diferent. Is another ****t of conversion from console to pc, and mister money says, ok, let´s make another world cup game, indentically to 06 or 05, but with the world cup atmosphere.....please.... gentlement from EA, dont you think that is time for to stop this stupid thing???, may be we should to remember to the EA guys that there´s a company called Konami and has the better football game. I was very surprised when i saw the xbox360 screenshots, and then i though, finally!!!...pes and fifa at the same level!!!, sad but true....each year the same thing, nothing changes.....it seems worst yet!!!....pffff....anyway i wait this....if you take a look to the same games. Let me explain, mr.money saids, Final Round 3, for consoles:

2 EA guys conversation:

1-"we must to wait for ps3??"
2-"no...not necesary, we make first the xbox360 version to lie a bit and then we make something similar for ps2, you know...for money"
1-"but ps2 have not the same potential!!!"
2-"dont worry, people are fool and wont see the diference"

With fifa happends the same ****t......STOP NOW STUPIDS GUYS OF EA!!!!!

That's because the gameplay is simply set too fast so everything seems horrible, for now. i tried changin it in the ini but it crashes. i guess it has to be done to all ini files.

That my be , but even the speed was lowered , it would not change the ball physics ..

AI of the teams , your players controlled by cpu and the cpu team , I got FIFA06 and up'ing the gameplay setting does not change the basic fact that the AI of the cpu is not good enough!

FIFA06 , I stood my players back off the cpu players, a midfileder would get the ball from his defence 30yrds from goal , he would move forward (I never tried to close him down) then with a short sprint to the half way line ( out slighty wide ) he would stop and pivot turn 180 and back again ! start to move forward dart to the right then left turn back into his own half and pass the ball back .. I kept the same cpu and moved through all the setting to world class , the cpu player still acted in the same way ! these stupid turns and twists when no one was near them and the 180's turns the pivot to the right then left another 180 and move back into there own half , runs across the field up to my 18yrd box and turn back , all the time I highlight any of my player that went to close them down and turn them away to give the cpu the room to do what he wanted ... bottom line , its not good enough and changing the setting from gameplay 1 to world class does not change these basic facts ..

g into the demo and stand off the cpu player(s) on the ball , there build up play is woeful , watch and you'll see with no one near them , they'll turn and twist and do 180's .. add the that rubber ball physics ...

I want to love FIFA (I love football) but I just can't ... my kids 17/24 won't go near a FIFA game anymore ...

I'll hold my hands up and say I know nothing of programing computer games, but these guys at EA are supposed to be pro's , but even after all these years , they can recreate a football in a game , the weight flight or bounce .. This is not a HATE Fifa blast I want all football games to be great, because I love the game of football, but with FIFA's gameplay and ball physics , I can't ... and that is a real shame ...

Aragorn
12-04-2006, 05:34:AM
Well, after playing the demo, im on the same posture. Gameplay is horrible, too fast, and without good football offers, ball phisics is not good too. Seems like a fifa06.1 but playing only with the national teams. Ok, the papers, flags, etc is a cool thing...but this does not forgive the fact of the horrible faces and t-shirts first planes, textures are so bad. The field is horrible too, and that thing about dirty t-shirts, well, no comments. So take a look to the photographers on the field....is a pure 1 side polygon repeating the 2d press people with an alpha channel (man, this is from 5 or 6 years ago). Anyway, if you have a good card, like a high ATI or NVIDIA, if you put the resolution to 1280x1024, AA 4x, and change the render_every_ia_frame, etc, and some extra editing, you can obtain something good (far away from xbox360 and his field of view ), something like fifa06.5
Dissapointing, very dissapointing.

I pesronally did not feel that this was a decent attempt at all. I think EA should seriously rethink their 'game plan'. After four or five years they strill are pumping out the same old ****. I don't want to see blocky graphics, bad text, even the ball hasn't had high enough detail textures to read the logos correctly. What is the point of ATI, Nvidia etc pumping out these new kick ass gfx cards if EA aren't even planning to utilise them... in the slightest.
They so-far have managed to produce 2 gfx levels in 06 and WC: Morbid and semi - morbid.
I hope that FIFA 07 is getting a complete revamp of the gfx to next-gen standards or at least, i dunno, fx 5*** series and above or wateva ATI equivalent.
I was so disappointed by this demo, I didn't even finish the 1st match i played. I quit the game and uninstalled it.
Like I said... seriously NOT impressed.

Here's my take on the game:

Pros:
- Graphics aren't too bad in the sense that the lighting seemed good. Kit's were well colored.
- The ball is nice and free.
- Commentary is so far excellent. Andy Townsend is fantastic!
- Nice to hear "god save the queen" for england.
- For me the turf didn't look too bad.

Cons:
- They went waaaaay over the top with confetti/balloons etc...
- Faces aren't that great. (some of them are)
- When you score, the "Yesss!" comes in like thunder... it's a bit weird.
- Too much of "outside of the foot desperation" passing.
- Too easy to break the defense.
- It seems like all the goals will come from strikers and maybe the odd goal from a mid.
- On kickoff, i passed the ball back, and the camera couldn't catch up with it.

Overall:

The game seemed to be good at first. Then I got the hang of it and it already seems to easy. There are good plusses such as the lighting, and the free movement of the ball, and the crowd for the most part. The crowd has way too many flags, way too many rolls of paper, and confetti. I'd give it a 6/10.

No problem... the commentary is really good. I actually didn't hear the anthem's before the game, but i'm assuming it's because it's the demo and they didn't add it... i meant that the crowd sing it during the game...

wow you complain, but you're right EA are lazy
I don't usually complain. I'm now beginning to feel let down by EA. They should be aiming for the future, not living in the past. And also why do they create amazing stuff for a platform most of us will have to pay another £280 for (or whatever equivalent). Why not on the PC where most of the original fans of the game lie... if there are any left...

After a couple years without trying EA Sports FIFA series here's my in-depth analysis.

Played 8 matches. Here's what stands out:

- this game effectively recreates real-life defensive tactics. Of the 1950's. Players don't defend. They hang around. That LB patiently stands there watching his CB face the striker without making an attempt to pressure of, I don't know, get the ball back or something.

- ball physics is perfect. If you're playing in the moon.

- Through-balls. A good run to meet a clever pass makes all the difference in modern football. In a terrific effort to recreate football as it is, through-balls also make an impact in FIFA World Cup 06. Every time you try them. (That Rio Ferdinand just can't learn anything, can he?)

- 1-1, last seconds of the match, I make a through-ball to Ronaldo and - surprise - he's immediately free, without anything separating him from the goalie, and he runs, runs, reaches the top of the box and... the game is over. Over and out of my computer.

I hope that FIFA 07 is getting a complete revamp of the gfx to next-gen standards or at least, i dunno, fx 5*** series and above or wateva ATI equivalent.

Believe me, it wont. I'm sure EA will stick with this engine till FIFA 08, because PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Revolution are yet coming to do their part of "next-gen", unaparallel graphics, physics, and all that crap which Xbox 360 already passed.

get a life nerd

Hey moron, why are you getting all twisted about my comments? Are you uncomfortable with opinions, or reading this game is poor hurt your feelings?
And do you even know what a nerd is? I tell you: it's a 15yo kid who gets upset because someone writes on an internet forum his fave footy game sucks.

Why don't you grow up and try rebutting my comments on the game instead?
