thanks in advance

so what does everyone think of the opening post?
It's looking great, loving the the thread title + the FRF logo montage :).
Can't wait for the USA tournament, hope we'll get to see the matches here.
Vladinho87 09-05-2006, 01:04:PM Great thread Steaua :D
great first post, quality!
mersi pt efortul depus :D
`chaOs 09-05-2006, 01:27:PM maybe will see good matches and qualify to next euro ... the clubs romanian team are rising and is time for the nt to prove that romanian football is growing.... Great thread $teauA (Y)
What line up would you want to see? I think this would be the best:
----------Mutu----Mazilu----------
Bostina--------------------Nicolita
-------------Cernat---------------
------------Munteanu-------------
Rat------Chivu-----Radoi----Contra
-------------Lobont---------------
Though I haven't seen Cernat play for the NT in ages :(.
Munteanu is too old, we can come up with a better DM. Maybe Radoi for DMF and Rada for CB.
On the other hand, i've heard that Mazilu wasn't called up for the american tour. Hope i misunderstood, he deserves some international football.
My team:
----Daniel Niculae----Mazilu--------
----------------Mutu--------------
Bostina/Mitea---------------Nicolita
--------------Radoi---------------
Rat------Chivu-----Rada---Ogararu
-------------Lobont---------------
dunno if it's too ofensive, i'd give it a shot :p
$teauA 09-05-2006, 04:04:PM Mutu has to play as a forward grim, that's his favorite position and scores at will when he plays it.
Here's what I would start:
-------------------Lobont------------------
Ogararu-------Goian------Chivu----------Rat
--------------------Radoi-------------------
Nicolita--------------------------------Mitea
--------------------Cocis-------------------
-------------Mutu---------Maziliu-----------
How can you guys forget about Cocis? That guy is a talent!
I think Goian definitely deserves a spot, he is so solid in the box it's not even funny and next to Chivu he could learn a lot.
With Mitea and Nicolita down the wings we would have great speed and our RB and LB would help in attack as well.
Mutu and Maziliu should make a nice strike force as well.
$teauA 09-05-2006, 04:06:PM We have lacked a solid quality right back singe Petrescu retired. Contra was good for a while but now all he does is screw up when he plays for the NT. Other than that we have pretty good players at every position.
oh yea, how could i leave out Goian? :nape:
i know Mutu is a natural striker, but i'd like to see him as the mastermind of our attacks behind the incredibly fast duo of Niculae and Mazilu.
Hope Cocis will make the trip to US so we can see more of him.

Mutu can make some amazing through passes but I don't like Niculae as a starting forward very much. I think we would struggle to score goals.
Unless he has an injury Cocis will make the trip, Piturca loves him.

Radoi is listed as a mid, does that mean that Piturca plans to play him in the same position like he plays for Steaua? BTW he's not making the trip :boohoo:
Haha that's funny, GSP posted that article in the same day when they said that Mirel will miss the tournament (6).

Ah... Rosu, would love to see him at Steaua again some day.
He's a bit old though, good option for the national team anyway.
"Vrem dovezi!"

Maziliu didn't make the trip, he got injured in the Steaua match :(. Anyway I'm hoping for this line-up against Uruguay:
-------------------------Lobont-------------------------
Contra------------Tamas-------Goian--------------Stoica
-------------------------Radoi--------------------------
Nicolita------------------------------------------Bostina

Some articles on GSP had it like two weeks ago, oh well guess not. Maybe for the best, I really don't give a rats ass about these friendlys especially with the team Piturca fielded tonight :|.
The Russian/Ukranian leagues are not stronger than the Romanian one so why field players that play on opposing teams in those countries and don't know eachother instead of starting a midfield that knows eachother perfectly and has had great succes together like the one i posted? Makes no sense.
Kimikal 26-05-2006, 08:05:PM I want to add something: If Ogararu is at Ajax, Piturca must select him. :S

He was gonna play for Romania in this mini-tourney but Piturca learned of the transfer so he left him off ;)
What a crap tourney Romania made, our players were like sleepwalkers.
Can't wait until we make ourselves a solid team for the next few years, and Piturca can definetly do that.

I've noticed that Ogararu hasn't been mentioned in the first post where all the players are named
I know the coach wants to give him some rest for the next games Romania plays. That's because we (Ajax) play qualification rounds for the CL and the Dutch Supercup game a week later against PSV.
We will be having a tougher time against you guys then last time with Mutu added to the squad but in the end we will win :p
I believe both Romania and us will qualify for EC08.
Forca Romania :ewan:

Tomorrow we play against Internazionale and saturday against Manchester United. On wednesday we face FC Kopenhagen for the qualification CL and
then next sunday against PSV for the Dutch supercup.. I'm sure he will get enough playingtime.
Deisler 06-08-2006, 04:28:PM We will own you like we did own Grecee. (H)
Honestly though it will be a hard group. The Dutch are favourites, you guys or Bulgaria should come second we would be happy not to flirt with the last place, but in Albania we can gett points out of anyone who is not called the Netherlands.
The list of Liga I players called up for friendly against Cyprus should be released soon since the 2nd matchday is over.

4 Steaua players called up (Marin, Dica, Nicolita, Paraschiv), unfortunately no Goian because of his injury yesterday :(, but he was on the roster up to that point so it means that Piturca likes him (Y).
We lack a good right-midfielder. If Nicolita gets injuried or lacks form then we're ****ed.

We won with 4-0 against Rep of Ireland, 2 goals from Huntelaar and Robben and van Persie (with assist from Huntelaar)
So be ware the Hunter is coming! :p
Romania and Holland will qualify for sure, did Mutu play well?
Yeah, scored a goal and had this left foot volley with no first touch that the Cyprus keeper saved from under the bar. He was pretty active even though he was subbed at half time (well there were only 2 players that played 90 minutes :)).
Silencer 17-08-2006, 03:12:PM For me he is one of the best Romanian players in the squad along with Chivu (did he play?), Oprita (is he a national player?), Nicolita, Mitea, Dica.

Silencer 20-08-2006, 05:04:PM Piturca would be a fool to leave Ogararu out of the squad again next time.
He played for us today and he was fantastic! Great defender, dangerous with the ball, fast and his technique is good.
When he has the ball it's almost impossible to steal the ball away from him and he does really nice things with the ball. Good passes, crosses and dribbling. For me he was one of the best, he played the whole match with Ajax next to Jaap Stam and they were dominant and boss in defense.

He didn't :). Piturca has actually called him up for the Bulgaria and Albania matches which is fantastic news!! BTW kind of suprising to hear that he played in the center of defense, I don't think he ever did that at Steaua :D

you seem to be very brief and confident. :)
i wasn't asking about the possible score, it's obvious that everybody plays to win..
Our national team under 21 played Ukraine in Kiev last week, they (the guys from Ukraine) were runners up in the last euro championship (lost the final to the Netherlands), and before the game their coach sounded as confident as you did.. We crushed them 3-0, in Kiev.
To be honest, i like your players,i'm a bit of a fan of steaua too. Actually my grand-grandfather was romanian. :ewan:
you will be really surpired but i know lots of the guys in your squad. and those who play around here, in Sofia too.

haha :rockman: , i expected something like this. i'm gonna tell it to the **** sorry cska fans around here.. :hump:
actually, they took him a week ago, without paying a lev for him, because their best striker duo Sakaliev and Furtado have been really bad injured, and now i guess they will take whoever they find for free :funny:

Trica used to play for Steaua, he was a very good player and he did get some caps for the NT. Petre used to play for Dinamo and I'm not sure if he was called up for the double against Bulgaria and Albania but he usually gets called up, my instincts tell me he wasn't called up this time though.

you know what, i can't say that i know your squad in details, some players like Codrea and more, i heard for the first time a few days ago, but if i were Piturca, i wouldn't call some of your players playing abroad. I mean, i really like Goain for example, and i think, he rarely gets capped. Just because there are older guys from aborad like Contra and whoever, and there's no place for youngsters.. :jambo:
i guess, if i were piturca, i would call mainly players from steaua/dinamo/rapid, and not those "stars" form abroad.. maybe just because that, i like them more.. :ewan:
Even @ the goalkeeper spot- i read, that this Lobont guy was starting.. I guess Rapid's goalkeeper coman is better.. Last year he did great games in the uefa cup. :rockman:
btw i looked @ one of the fansites of cska, piturca is definitely capped, he's got numer 17 :kader: . eh, but got no picture of him.
here we go with the pics of petre & trica though:

I'm surprised you know so much about romanian football :).
Goian is usually called-up for every match lately, but it's just that he had some back problems.
Codrea is a pretty good midfielder, played for Genoa, Torino and now Palermo. Definetly in the nt's plans.
thetrooper37 22-08-2006, 06:51:AM wow, man
you seem to be very brief and confident. :)
i wasn't asking about the possible score, it's obvious that everybody plays to win..
CSKA recently signed the son of your nt coach- Alexandru P, is he a good one?
I'm hoping we win too but our defence is simply pathetic:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=jtb0JOlUHjw
and then there's the 1-5 loss to scotland
I don't know how we're gonna keep Romania from scoring
adobe_sun 22-08-2006, 07:31:AM @ .ro:
so this codrea should be a promising guy.. i'll keep that in mind :ewan:
i actually know a lot not only about romanian football. i'm watching football since 1994, and it's funny though, i can even now recall some of the nt squads in 94 :rockman:
and what would you say about the forthcoming match?
@Martin Petrov:

Silencer 22-08-2006, 04:10:PM Well no offense adobe but Romania needs the best players to qualify for the EC08, with only the players from the domestic league your not going to make it it's as simple as that. Lobont is for me the best goalkeeper you got right now and not calling up players from abroad is foolish
You definitely need Chivu for instance after all he is the captain, you need Mutu after all look what he did for the team from the moment he got back from suspension.
And you will defninitely need those guys when you play against us and you need a better defense and that means Ogararu, I watched him live this weekend and like I wrote earlier this guy is really impressive and he knows how to defend well, Chivu and Ogararu together would be a stronger line, I hope he will play against Kopenhagen tomorrow, if we win that one it's Champions League for sure.
The first game we won with 1-2 so we're almost there.
My gf was swearing in the Romanian language when Ogararu wasn't invited last time lol I didn't understand a word only caca or cacat :p

heh, man, you're damn right. i didn't say , they shouldn't call ANY players from abroad, but just the pure and simple fact- sometimes, when there are better choices from the domestic league, and even younger and more promissing, why not calling them?? lobont played for ajax, i remember that,
but i guess all the time he was substitue to stekelenburg, right??
and even look @ your squad: van Basten leaves Seedorf, Davids, Makaay and other older guys, and gives a chance for Shaars, the guy whose goals youre counting in your sig :) (HUntelaar) , van der vaart, and more and more..
Brazil' coach Dunga does the same- who needs Cafu, Roberto Carlos, ronaldo!?!? NOBODY! we need Robinho, Dani Carvalho, Fred..
that's the reason, why i respect so much coaches like dunga and van basten :)
about romania- i agree, without chivu their defense wouldn't be as good as it is now. he's very solid player, also niculae- the best striker acording to me.i actually prefer him to mutu. mutu might play attacking mitfielder too, but niculae should be the striker.
i'm glad your ajax is going to play in the CL. i like the team mainly because of style of their game. i guess my favs are emanuelson and rosales. i actually don't really like the transfer of stam. i am man united fan too, so you know, i don't like the way he dropped outta the team. :)

well man, you should consider the fact that iliev, topuzakov and venkov (and maybe more defenders..) were injured, so they weren't capped against wales.
and about this game with scotland: everybody stares at the result, but:
- it was a game, where stoichkov brought 7-8 totally new players
- nobody from berbo, stilian, martin, bojinov, tschavdar or blago played
- it was only one day after the game with the hosts- Japan. a game, that we won 2-1 !! in tokio i guess.
so, i don't realy dare to criticize stoichkov or the team. there's no team in the world, that would play 2 games in 2 days, a team with only 17 players available.. i don't know..
however i'll admit 1-5 was awkward/

Players from the Romanian league who have proved that they can play very well in European competition should definitely make the squad. IMO Radoi (Steaua), Goian (Steaua), Dica (Steaua, currently with 5 goals in 4 matches in Liga I) cannot be left off and should strongly be considered for the starting line-up. Radoi is always there but Goian and Dica sometimes are dropped from the starting line-up for players who play abroad but that's it, they don't really impress, they just play on some random team in Germany or Italy and they get a starting spot because of that. Goian is a rock and he has shown it over and over. I can only remember one error in the last two seasons from him, he's just that good. One of the best young Romanian defenders there is.

that's exactly how i think too.
no doubt about chivu and player like ograru, who impress last two season with steaua, but there are a lot of other opportunities.. Like guys from steaua, rapid..
I heard rapid's defenders were rock too... Badoi, maftei.. :jap: But i guess they don't get capped too much...
to be honest, i have a lot of knowledge about dinamo. most of the steaua fans, would probably start to argue, but some of the dinamo guys are good too. i was at the vasil levski stadium last year on levski - dinamo, it was a great game, and there was a left winger, called puhach, or something, he was GREAT. i mean it! and the tamas guy too, but i liked more a guy called mozi, because levski wanted to buy him after that, they even went to watch him at yoru domestic championship, but finally they bought a guy form the hometown of our trainer. :)
i think, i didn't metioned that levski won 1-0 :rockman:

See, that's the problem with Stoichkov. He brings in new players every damn game. He's always "experimenting" and with his experiments, we didn't qualify for the world cup. He needs to pick his players and stick with them, make them feel like they're a team. And the Japan game, we pretty much got lucky to win that, look for it on youtube and you'll see, we really weren't the better side. I understand if we lost by 2-0 or so to Scotland but 5-1 is a little embarrasing.

How come Bojinov isn't in your nt?, really weird thing.
adobe_sun 23-08-2006, 11:31:AM How come Bojinov isn't in your nt?, really weird thing.
well, he is. he didn't play a lot of the games lately for a couple of reasons.
i guess his last game was Mexico - BG 0-3 in a freindly in USA.
then he missed BG - Turkey 3-1, because Stoichkov said, he wasn't in good shape :hit: , but then they cleared everything.
he missed the trip to Japan, but actually our best players missed that trip..
and then missed Wales, because the day after that he played for the under 21 suqad in Kiev and scored 2 for 3-0 win. :bouncy:

i think you haven't read about the conditions for this match, that i posted a few posts back, but i guess you might talk whatever you want :drevil:
btw, i remember your team losing from even younger and more unexperienced team of scotland, than the one our substitute players played with.. :read: i think it was a play-off for some tournament, you lost with a goal by darren fletcher i guess, and it was pretty funny, some shot from around the corner, went even between van der saar's feet or something.. i remember it was awkward, because you were playing with all the overpaid stars (davids, seedorf and co.), and the scottish teenagers beated you. :corn:
Silencer 24-08-2006, 06:57:PM Whatever
Just read on Ajax Network that Ogararu has not been selected for both games Romania plays. According to Piturca he's not 'good enough' big mistake if you ask me but I'm sure there are better players than George Ogararu in that position. Still I've seen him play like you guys in Bucharest and he impressed me.
He got selected in the first place and this morning he got a fax that he was dropped because "he didn't estabilish a regular place at his club" :|. Oh come on, he played in the Supercup and in the Eredivisie, missed the matches against FCK and that's not enough? Contra must be bribing Piturca or paying him regular visits cause I really don't understand. If Contra doesn't score a hat-trick against Bulgaria then I'll rip off his page from the Romanian Football Encyclopedia :(.
Silencer 24-08-2006, 07:13:PM He got a fax?? :o man that's pathetic Marco van Basten calls players to talk with them if they are in or out and why.
The only games Ogararu missed were the games vs Kopenhagen but hey if he (Piturca) thinks he can do it better let him
Cosmin Contra is old and slow + if Ogararu got left home for not being a regular then what's he doing at the nt, when was he a regular at WBA, Atletico or Getafe? And Petre Marin is pretty good but would be Ogararu's sub anyday, infact he even was until George got at Ajax.
Kimikal 24-08-2006, 07:24:PM Contra's crosses go straight to Mutu and Niculae's head...Ogararu's crosses... :sb9: and Ogararu is not so experienced like Contra.
You say this just because he was born in Timisoara and played there for like 6 months. How many times have you watched Ogararu? I've watched all of his games in the last seasons at Steaua and even all of his games at Ajax until now and I can say that he has great crosses for a right-back. Contra had great crosses too but his time is long gone. As much as Piturca wants to refreshen him I think he's 3 years too late.
adobe_sun 24-08-2006, 08:53:PM If Contra doesn't score a hat-trick against Bulgaria then I'll rip off his page from the Romanian Football Encyclopedia :(.
seem to be kidding, right? :bouncy:
i read about this whole story of the romanian players from outter Divizia A. You should be lucky though, Piturca didn't put in some other players, like ientschi and a guy from fc moskva, and somebody else there too..(sorry, forgot the names)
HOWEVER: i guess it's a huge mistake bringiin in playerslike this guy Rosu! how old is he then?!? i mean, if he isn't under 25, then it's worthless to bring him- he playes since 2000 in your nt, i guess (i think, he was in euro 2000, right!??) what's he doin still here then?! you got so many midfielders in romania, i guess, you shouldn't call players from abroad, when you got more talented and even younger players playing in romanian teams!
the situation with ogararu: lto be honest, i'm glad. you know why. :)
$teauA 25-08-2006, 06:37:AM Yeah I'm glad he didn't bring in Iencsi and whoever else who is playing in some s*itty eastern European team but why the f*ck not take Ogararu??? This is complete bull s*it :kader:

I don't consider Spartak Moskva as "s*tty eastern european team" :read:
i actually would call Serif tiraspol a "s*tty eastern european team", which would automatically withdrawn this guy Cocis into the ****list :gavin: :)
no, to be honest i haven't ever herad this guy Cocis (is he good enough?!?), but Spartak seems to be way better and known team than Sherif! :drevil:
It's another thing, whether your player in Spartak is always substitute, and the other in Sherif - not, but i guess Piturca's the one to decide, so.. :corn:
btw, Dinamo B played aorund here their Uefa cup tie yesterday. :)
adobe_sun 25-08-2006, 07:45:PM guys, check out what kinda GOAL (http://www.juventusmania.net/hisham/2007/Martina0-3Juventus(Bojinov).avi) you're going to conceide in just a week in constanta.. :bouncy:
Fallen 25-08-2006, 08:15:PM Actually i consider all valuable players that decide to go east ... stupid ...
You make a lot of money, but your career stops there ... look at Cernat, Ghioane, Rat + the others in the turkish league ... Why did Neaga chose to go in the South Coreean Championship ... i have no idea ... for the money probably, but he's lost so much cause of his choice ... the place in the national team ...
For example Marica got transferred to Shaktar touted the new romanian hope and we get to hear of him only when he scores a goal or two (he doesn't get more than 15 games & 3 goals per season). Look where he got to, 3 seasons just screwed like that, you never know what would have happened with him if he chose his new team 2 years ago with his brain not with his wallet (well he's an ex-Dinamo player so the 1st option may not be always available).
Edit: Yet he still gets regularly called to the nt even though just to fill the list of players, rarely gets to play. And that extra spot could be useful sometimes, at least get a player there that's fit and ready for action in case of an injury.
Fallen 25-08-2006, 08:40:PM very true ...

I was speaking in general terms. Iencsi has always been crap though and if you can't break the first 11 playing in Eastern Europe then you definitely don't belong on the NT.
Cocis is a great player. Great passing skills and shooting skills. He sees the field extremely well and plays the AM position very very well. The reason why he is still at Sheriff is because their owner is asking for WAY too much money (:/)
adobe_sun 26-08-2006, 11:06:AM got it. so, cocis breaks regularly the strating 11...
i guess you should start with the spreculatons about the first 11 against us... I think Petre shouldn't start, as he played terrible alongside the whole team of CSKA, that played not much of a crap against some defensive team from serbia in the uefa tie on Thursday.
Fallen 26-08-2006, 11:39:AM Petre doesn't belong to the national team :|
There are many who don't belong there ... we have many talented players, but Piturca has some favorite players ... see Iencsi, Codrea, Contra etc.
adobe_sun 26-08-2006, 12:18:PM i'm not saying petre isn't good enough. i'm just stressing, that last cska' game the whole team played like they were on a vacation, which was quite a laugh... to watch them :bouncy:

Florentn PEtre: We will eat the bulgarians!
27.08.2006
Sofia. "We will eat the bulgarians", threatend the CSKA player and romanian nt F.PEtre, quoted by Gazeta Sporturolor. On Friday ,although he hadn't slepped all night, he talked for 2 hours with romanian reporters, that were in Sofia because of the game between Beitar Jerusalem and Dinamo Bucuresti, which was played the previous night in G.Asparuhov stadium, says the newspaper.
"I read what the bulgarians say: they want to come and beat us, but we will bite them, i' tellin ya", states petre for his compatriots. The player, that is called in his conutry "the small" said also, that the bulgarians, that play for a lot of money, must know that, the romanian players are good: "The coach Stoichkov was on our game with cyprus, but left early and i knew he was frightened. I told my CSKA mates Guys, it's gonna be a battle!". Petre also said that, he feels great in CSKA and that his former Dinamo teammate Mozi is a transfer aim of Levski.
Alongside with the interview, the paper listed also a picture with Petre, staying in fornt of the bulgarian flag, prepearing to bite form two cucumbers. "When you say Bulgaria, you think of vegetables (we appear to be famous in Romania with being good horticulturists), and Petre is ready to bite his opponents", says the text under the picture.

i mean, we haven't talked about OUR nt, which seemes to be your concern. :)
i'll open a thread as long as i finish my exams and have more time for posting up all the information about our nt. :) hope i\ll menage to do that soon, so that everybody, including you can learn more about our team, etc.

1. your english is not bad :)
2. i went on to this thread, so that we could discuss the upcoming match; i was interested in what your nt would achive, because i'm a little bit of a steaua fan.
3. appart from this little talk with the newcomer guy, i don't think i broke any rules of the thread or sometihng. i even hadn't thought that this whole thing would turn into massive topic.. if i knew it, i wouldnt, have done it.. (:/)
4. i posted a lot material about the upcoming match, including some stuff from the press and so on. i was interested in your squad and i don't think that somebody should swear to me for whatever reason it is..
5. i hadn't ever insulted anybody in this thread. (somebody else could have done it to you, but not ME:)
6. what's this crap "ROMANIA 5-0 BULGARIA !!!!!!!!!!!!!"?!?! Might happend, ok.
I HAVEN"T EVER SAID LOUDLY things like "we will beat you", "we will kick your ass".. As a matter of fact, even Petre in his interview says, he read that the press here says, we want to beat you. yeah, we do, but the press doesn;t says that AT ALL. i mean, nobody here plays fool, and things we have more than 30% chance in the game with you. ans so do i. And if you read ( :read: !!!) what i've posted, you'll see: i was never saying we will crush you, i just said a few times, that you shouldn't be THAT KINDA confident in beating us, cos everything might happen, because in the last match between us, we beated you (although it was fa looong time ago :) ), etc, etc.
still, i don't really understand this post of Luis_Figo. :o

our press said today that a striker from Sportul named Mazilu was missing our game, and also that this guy Cocis, that $teaua told me about, was also under question, because of injury.

i'm not "dreaming" that Bg will beat Ro, because it's not a dream, i mean everything might happen; you could beat us, we could beat you, we may draw, the power might be cut off, so that the game might be suspended, teororists may attack the stadium and take everybody a hostage or the referee might have to fly back to Italy, because his wife could be pregnant, i don't know, but i defintiely don't dream of anything.. :crazyboy: i posted the goal from 1996, cos this was the last official match between us.

i know what you mean. the tickets for our games in the CL are also very expensive. There were a lot of enthusiasts for the away games too(not me), but then came the news- the ticket for the game with Barcelona in Camp Nou would cost something like at least 40 Euros!! Even the game between Barcelona and Valencia (a few days earlier in Primera) the tickets would cost lower than 33 euros.
i doubt there will be more than 100 Levski fans in Barcelona.. (:/)

I was ready to prepare a massacre for our defenders when coming back to sofia, but Marto Petrov saved them, otherwise they were about to get murdered slowly and painfully. :kader:
i woudl say, that the game consisted in a few main parts:
- 1 part- we DIDN't kept the ball for more than 20 seconds, very weak midfield
- you scored 1 goal- great SHYT from topuzakov- deserves to get kicked out of the squad like.. FOREVER
- we gave you a gift- the second goal. GREAT SHYT AGAIN< AGAIN this oik topuzakov
- 2 goals for the stroke of genius of martin
this was it. and thre red card of tamas, who i'd rather say was even weaker then contra, who i expected to be your weakest defender.
i expected petre and rosu to be the weakest links in your squad, but they proved me wrong- they were one of the few with a hunger for the win.
although soring the second marica was shyt i guess. i expceted him to be more then nicuale, more than iacob, but he missed all the chances, except for the gift that we gave you.
all in all, after us playin like scared ones in the first half, you scoring 1, our defence sucking really bad, you should have won. but i guess we deserved some luck, after this great misfortune with topuzakov beaing born in bulgaria and being put to play in this match in the center defence, which i consider the greatest mistake ever made :nape: But i guess you got really lucky after that, because of the chance that Bozhinov missed. I mean, i could have been 2-3, and you would have lost, which would have been worse than drawing us..
i'd say , the coaches were the ones that made mistakes too- your coach did very fooly substitues, and our coach did his usual mistakes with putting in the starting 11 some SHIBBY players i CANNOT STAND ANY MORE AHHHHHHHHH :nape:

this was exactly what i was talking about - it should be equal sign, not "bigger than".. That's the reason i didn't understand it.. :chew:
It might be truth though, when we're talking about more population, or more territory of the country, but i guess this remains "soccergaming forum", which means we talk about football. And in this case, the sign should be even ">=" , but should look like this:
Bulgaria >= Romania
:ewan: In case you don't know, this sign means that we're bigger OR equal (i told ya, i know maths!!! :jambo: ), which can be translated into football language: "In the modern football history, we usually beat you, and sometimes draw you" (C) :rockman:
i hope you qualify though. instead of the dutch team.

adobe_sun 03-09-2006, 11:29:AM ok, you're right. But you know, most of your wins against us are before the 60s, so i think we got positive balance if we don't count those early matches. :)
youmight check it out if you want. before 1960 the balance is 4 wins for us, 1 draw, 12 wins for you. And after that- a little bit different. :rockman:
and with "modern" i actually mean the football after johan cruyff and ajax in 1974, which means... the games after 1974. and we got definitely positive balance from those. :jap:

Chivu's hand waving is kinda right, what can you think when you're coach sends the 3rd centre-back on the pitch to play as a defensive midfielder whilst he was coached as a defender all the week before the game and not as a midfielder.
adobe_sun 04-09-2006, 08:58:PM just to ask you something about the game two days ago: it was played in constanta because you thought, you have luck there because of 2-0 against Czech Rep., right?
because there were hell of a lot speculations about the reason for the game to be played there, and yet the press says it was because of this game with the czechs... Is it truth?
Silencer 04-09-2006, 09:29:PM Wrong, I think the Romanian football association decides this together with FIFA. It has nothing to do with picking a stadium because a team had a good game there
Nope, Piturca and the players decide. Piturca wanted to play there cause we won against the czechs so he thought that it will be a good choice, but it wasn't. Chivu, Mutu and others already said that they want the games to be played in Bucharest or in cities with bigger stadiums (Timisoara), and we will.

You mean 2 years ago, and that argument is crap anyway. It was a friendly match, this one isn't, it's even U-21. Our under 21 team has never done anything big, so why defend them like they just won the WC?

adialex 05-09-2006, 09:23:PM actually we don't have a coach, if you look at the player names they aren't so bad...but we don't have a strategy, our nt teams are cursed to be coached by stupid "olteni" :nape:

Silencer 05-09-2006, 09:41:PM Mitea said in an interview today that he wants to be really carefull with his injury. Right now he is in the last stages of his recovery but this is the tricky phase according to himself. If he comes back too soon and is not rested well he could easily get injured again.
He hopes to start training with the guys next week again and in a few weeks he hopes to be back fulltime for Ajax and the Romanian NT.
Just thought you guys wanted to know ;)
We would have a pretty good U-21 team to be honest, if it wasn't for the 'call-up system' and the way the federation hire coaches. Nowadays you only see spoiled brats being regulars in the nt when players like Ochirosii or that Ionescu guy from Craiova have to stay home because 'they're not good enough' aka 'they don't wanna pay to get into the team'. The federation only hires jackals for coaches, there's so much corruption in the youth ranks of the nt than in the whole romanian championship, which says a lot. I've never seen a fair and willing to make performance coach at the U21/U18 team in years, it surely is time to see one. We have some talented players but they don't get their chance. A spell at the younger ranks of the national team would(/should) form and prepare a player for his career.
But oh well, we can always hope...
adobe_sun 05-09-2006, 09:59:PM A spell at the younger ranks of the national team would(/should) form and prepare a player so well for his career.
exactly! in our u-21 team it was the same thing until this year's coach. he is the only to be "friend" of stoichkov, and that's why he gave him Bozhinov and Ch.Yankov to play to both the nt, and the U-21 team. that's why we qualifyed for the next round, which hasn't happend since... hm.. i watch football. :hump:
i guess there's reason for the U-21 teams to exist, which is exactly what you described.

FT Albania - Romania 0-2
From what I can tell, we played horribly but somehow we got a win. Luck finally on our side? Theo can you post a summary?
Sorry for not checking in at half-time, I usually do it :(.
Indeed, our defence was pretty much strong as a rock, except for a few mistakes from Contra. Ghionea and Chivu were top notch today, won most of the headers and did some nice offside traps. Our midfield was pretty good, too bad we couldn't create any big chances. The dms did their job, Rosu had some good fwd runs as usual, and Codrea was reliable. Dica plays totally different for the nt than for Steaua, he's like a box to box attacking midfielder running up and down during the whole match, though he started shining in the 2nd half. Mutu was pretty much active, had some good runs with the ball, maybe held it too much at some times. As for Petre, Piturca needs to get him out and put Nicolita, he didn't do a thing all the match and when he had a crossing opportunity or a corner he always did zilch :nape:. As for Marica, really don't know what to say, he didn't get enough balls to prove anything today.
Even match, luckly for that defensive mistake at Dica's goal or else we would have been struggling a lot. No offence, but Albania don't know pretty much, they mostly rely on set pieces and strength rather than technique, though their passing game was pretty good.
I usually talk about the players' performance not the chances, hope it's ok (Y).
Edit: Haha, Mircea Sandu was asked at a talk-show just minutes ago if the U21 national team has a psychiatrist and he replied with a 1000-word-telling: "Why would we need one?". Too pathetic not to laugh at (C)...

Silencer 06-09-2006, 10:06:PM He we're on our way :amika: next to go down is Bulgaria on the 7th of October. Hopefully Rafael van der Vaart and Arjen Robben will be back by then so we will even be more stronger than today :p

Yeah, beating them would give us a nice 3 point coushin in 2nd place (if we beat Belarus) before the match against Holland (which I'm not at all looking forward to :(, not the way we've been playing). I have a feeling the Bulgarians are feeling a little too confident after their last two results.

adobe_sun 06-09-2006, 11:37:PM I have a feeling the Bulgarians are feeling a little too confident after their last two results.
you're nothing but DEAD wrong.
i'll tell you why:
- we, re never too confident since last qualifycation, which we failed
- NOBODY i repeat NOBODY gives any credit of belief and support to stoichkov as long as he is coach. everybody is against him, everybody criticizes him, which he partly deserves- a coach without any expeirence and failing to qualify his team. even the fans that support the team- most of them are against Stoichkov. Actually i cannot imagine- if we qualify, then they'll start to praise him high or what?!?!
- the team played bad the first game, now i was at the stadium for the game with SLO, andwe played way better. i guess we got something to build on. a team like us shouldn't feel "too confident". the dutch team- quite the opposite. :chew: They think they're great, which may be partly truth, but only those teams that think this CAN fall from high down to the ground. Not teams like us. :)
Silencer 07-09-2006, 05:19:PM i hope you will go down. somebody must bring you down to earth again, your self-belief is like always flying high :-P

Vermaelen is Belgian and plays for the Belgian NT but don't worry your attackers have to try and get by Mathijsen, Bouhlarouz, Heitinga, Ooijer so you will have your hands full to try to score and once you passed them then you have to deal with Edwin v.d. Sar hehe (H) only one of the best goalies in the world :amika:

Piturca's ego is bigger than his desire for results (didn't want to say patriotism).
Silencer 30-09-2006, 04:01:PM Ogararu is playing really well for us right now and your defense is vulnerable against Belarus cause they are very strong. Aleksandr Hleb is one of them and he is hard to stop. When the day comes Romania plays against us I hope Piturca will have the balls to keep him out of the squad as well.
You think Ogararu wants to be played around like a jojo, if Piturca continues this behaviour it wouldn't surprise me at all if Ogararu tells him to f*ck off next time when he calls him.
But I really don't care to tell ya the truth cause this way he can focus on Ajax and that's more important for us :amika:

Positives about the selection:
1) At least Piturca is realizing that there is talent in Liga I and he doesn't have to go around and call up players like Codrea or Iensci.
2) Lobon was dropped and the two best keepers in Liga I were called up (Y)
3) Both Goian and Ghionea were selected.
Negatives about the selection:
1) WHY NO OGARARU????
2) Why no Ganea? The man is on fire right now, 8 goals in 10 matches and he doesn't even get a spot on the roster? Why not put him in place of Niculescu or Buga?
3) Why is he still calling up Cocis? I haven't heard a thing about him and he was crap in the last games he played for us. Just drop him and add another forward or add Ogararu.
4) WHY NO OGARARU?????
Other than the Ogararu thing the rest don't really bother me that much and I actually think that this is a very solid group compared to other teams that Piti has called up in the past.
I would start:
------------------------Coman---------------------
Marin-----------Goian--------Ghionea------Chivu
Nicolita-----------------Rosu------------------Rat
-------------------------Dica-----------------------
-------------------Mutu-----Marica----------------
of course that won't happen...
Knowing Piti though he will proably play something like this :
------------------------Coman---------------------
Badoi----------Tamas--------Chivu-----------Rat
F. Petre---------------O. Petre----------------Rosu
-----------------Dica---------Mutu-----------------
-----------------------Marica-----------------------
Why do you rate Chivu so highly on the left? He hasn't played there since his Ajax days...
$teauA 03-10-2006, 04:25:AM Why do you rate Chivu so highly on the left? He hasn't played there since his Ajax days...
One because he's a good enough player to adapt there and play well and two because Ghionea + Goian are the best CB combo Romania has but Piturca is too blind to see it.
adobe_sun 03-10-2006, 02:04:PM i told ya- lobont is shyte, should get rest, and coman should be in charge

Right now Buga and Niculescu seem to be the definitive strikers, as Mutu isn't really a forward, more like a playmaker, i guess.

WHY ISN'T TVR INTERNATIONAL SHOWING THE GAMES ANYMORE!!!!!! I'VE BEEN EMAILING THEM LIKE CRAZY FOR THE LAST WEEK AND I GET NOTHING!!
Theo do you think you could call them and find out? I'm just so bummed. One of the reasons why I purchased the dish was to see the NT play and now they don't show their games anymore, not even on tape delay :nape:
I'll try and see what's up. They're not showing the game live or not at all?
Oh and Chivu as a defensive midfielder. I'm only surprised with the coach's decision, I know Cristi is good enough to play there too.
Kimikal 04-10-2006, 01:55:PM I would start:
------------------------Coman---------------------
Marin-----------Goian--------Ghionea------Chivu
Nicolita-----------------Rosu------------------Rat
-------------------------Dica-----------------------
-------------------Mutu-----Marica----------------
Are you kidding with Marin in first 11?
