The players of the Polish national team would receive, collectively, a cool six million dollars if they managed to win the World Cup, a senior Polish football official said Sunday.

"In this way we have joined together with the team," said Michal
Listkiewicz, President of the Polish Football Federation (PZF).

Listkiewicz declined to give many further details, including what the
players would be paid if they were knocked out in the knockout phase.

The PZF would consider the side being knocked out of the tournament because of a poor refereeing decision differently from poor overall performances by the team, Listkiewicz said.

"We would have to take something like that under consideration," Listkiewicz
said. Poland's minimum goal from Group A, in which they will play against
Germany, Ecuador, and Poland is an advance into the next round, he said.

"Were we to (go on to) reach the quarterfinal, it would be comparable with
our (Poland's) exit in 1974," Listkiewicz said.

The Polish national side placed third in that competition, held in Germany.

All this is bullsh*t. Its a bloody game. I've seen fans mixing with each other because its only a game. I expect they wont mix this time obviously. But the moronic and backwards idea of not banning certain hooligans and allowing them to travel to germany is ridiculous. The english have done their bit and banned trouble makers from going. But i'm certain lots of countries havent done their bit. So we have these morons who call themselves football fans going to Germany solely to cause trouble. The English will try and behave themselves but obviously they may provoke reaction. I know for a fact certain morons will not be able to control themselves. And because its a minority it makes it easy for police.
